Is ‘Overboard’ Worth Watching?

The movie follows a spoiled rich woman who is forced to live a much harder life, and almost every big turn can be seen coming well ahead of time. Still, the film knows exactly what kind of crowd-pleaser it wants to be. What helps Overboard stand out is the little stuff. The review points to the many small comic moments, the warmth of the cast, and the easy rhythm of the direction. It is not trying to reinvent anything. It is just trying to be funny and lovable, and for the most part, it succeeds.
