Even before Lila Hoth (Agnez Mo) was revealed to be a villain in Season 4 of the hit Prime Video TV series Reacher, it was clear that she wasn’t being entirely forthcoming in the information she was giving Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) about herself. So, when it was revealed that she was actually a skilled operative who had been manipulating the hunky ex-military hero, everything got thrown into a tailspin involving a senator, an investigative reporter, and a whole lot of shady governmental figures. In reality, Lila and Amisha (Anggun), a mother figure who helped the lethal fighter achieve her deadly skill set, set a much more sinister plan in motion and proved to be formidable adversaries for a man known for always besting the bad guys.

Collider recently got the opportunity to chat with Mo, an Indonesian singer-songwriter, actress and TV host, about why it’s so much fun to be so bad. During this interview, she discussed the very twisted women’s empowerment of Lila Hoth, how exciting and challenging the role was, forming a genuine connection with Jack Reacher while also manipulating him, figuring out their intimate moment together, all the work that went into the big finale fight scene, how she felt about Lila’s ultimate fate, and whether this has inspired her to continue her acting career again.

COLLIDER: This character was so much fun to watch this season.

AGNEZ MO: Oh, my gosh, she was so much fun. Thank you so much for acknowledging that. That’s what I said to (showrunner) Nick Santora all the time. I was like, “Nick, thank you so much for making me such a layered character for me. This is amazing.”

I very much appreciate that you were able to be scary on a show next to Alan Ritchson.

MO: After watching Season 3 and how Alan [Ritchson] fought the big Dutch villain, it’s incredible to see how this season could pull off something totally different for Reacher.

I feel like a big guy knows what to do when they’re fighting a big guy way more than they know what to do with a woman.

MO: Absolutely! This is somehow women’s empowerment, in a very twisted way.

Agnez Mo Was Excited To Play a Different Type of Villain in ‘Reacher’ Season 4

“It was just so fun to play Lila.”

Did you know the full scope of your character when you signed on for this season? Did you know that there was going to be this insane fight scene in the finale? How much were you told?

MO: When I did the audition, they gave me a few scenes. I think there were three scenes, and those scenes gave me a little snippet of what Lila could be. Obviously, I didn’t know how far the creator and writers would take Lila, but I got a glimpse in those three scenes that they gave me for the audition. After I booked the job and they gave me all the scripts, I was like, “Oh, my God, yes!” For this to be my comeback to acting, stepping back into the world that I once loved, is both exciting and challenging at the same time. To be able to present this different type of villain in Reacher, it’s exciting to play. Every single day that I was on set, I worked with my acting coach, John Markland. I also worked with Nick Santora, and we worked on her background. There’s a psychological background to her. It was just so fun to play Lila.

What did you most enjoy about the layers of the character and the aspects of her that you had to keep hidden at any given time?

MO: I feel like everybody is picking up on some of the shifts, like the tone of voice and the volume of voice and even a little bit of the body language. In the third episode, she lured him into this emotional connection with sexual tension. What’s so fun about it is discovering who she really is as the story unfolds. As an actor, you have to think several steps ahead because you’re playing a character within a character. Because it’s Reacher’s show and not Lila’s show, there’s very little background and exposition for Lila. My acting coach, Nick and I had to figure it out together. If Lila was being groomed by an older woman, she must have seen this woman as someone she trauma-bonded with. She must have seen this woman as a mother figure and as someone that she constantly wants to please. She was groomed as a killing machine, so she probably has a sociopathic tendency. So, how do you play that? But also, you’re trying to play this damsel in distress character within Lila. That was the fun part of it.

Other than me playing the damsel in distress and not being able to tell the audience just yet that Lila is actually playing something, we also needed to make smart decisions in putting in those sprinkles of mystery. For example, that one scene after the intimacy scene where she says, “Be careful, I don’t want anybody else that I’ve dragged into this getting hurt,” you could see in her expression and feel like, for some reason, you can’t trust her. There were all of these decisions that we made to make sure that when people finally understand that Lila is actually the villain, they can go back to those episodes and see the things that they didn’t catch. It’s a nuanced performance. When we did the intimacy scene, there were a couple of options that we could have gone with there. She could play the whole damsel in distress again because she knew that Reacher felt connected with Lila. She was a badass who was like, “I don’t run away from danger,” but then she was also, “Oh, I need you.” She really played Reacher. He somehow trusted Lila because she helped him. When we were filming that, we felt she needed to show a little bit of the possibility that she was being manipulative. We were figuring Lila out every single day of shooting.

Agnez Mo Believes That Lila’s Connection With Jack Reacher Is Genuine in Season 4

I love how, as a viewer, it also plays with your emotions because we’re introduced to her and we feel for her before we realize something isn’t quite right.

MO: When I read the scripts and dove deep into the character, I was trying to play the perspective that maybe Lila does have this genuine thing about her, but she never really explored that side of herself because she’s always been groomed and trained as a killing machine. The only person she knows how to please is Amisha. Thinking about it and being in her world for a second, that must have been a hard life for her because she doesn’t have anybody that cares about her. There’s this little connection with Reacher, and a genuine chemistry and connection. This might be the first time that Lila sees someone who cares about her without needing anything from her.

She is trying to lure him to get this drive, but at the same time, she is also interested in him. The audience is like, “I could see them together. I love them together.” And then, all of a sudden, Amisha swoops in and is like, “No, it’s all about the mission.” I love that it’s a combination of those things. I love to play a character where it’s not just so good or so bad. I feel like that just plays into the human side of it. Even when you’re a villain, you also have the side of you that maybe wasn’t explored enough because you’ve always been taught that you are a villain. Can you imagine the confusion in her mind and her heart, knowing that this is a mission, but then he defends them? That’s what the audience saw in that intimacy scene as well.

I actually really liked that you were wearing a bracelet that would have given away your plan if we knew what it was. Was it fun to have that and know that no one else would know what that was until it was revealed?

MO: Yes, exactly. As an actor, you have to think several steps ahead. You know things about your character that the audience doesn’t know yet, but you can’t really announce them, and you can’t show that yet. You have to be like, “Okay, in this scene, I have to really be Lila, the damsel in distress that needs him.” But then, I have to finally show little sprinkles of her not being trustworthy. There’s something about Reacher that is just too intriguing for Lila to not be there and talk to him. She really wants to know him. She’s also just a manipulative bitch. She’s using all these psychological tricks on him, and I’m pretty sure this is not the first time that she’s done this. She’s done this her whole life. When she reaches out for the cloth, she wants him to ask her about it. I love that people have noticed and picked up on those choices from very early episodes.

I also really liked that Lila and Amisha spoke to each other in their native language and I really appreciated that the show did. How did you feel about that? Was it something that felt important for the character and for the relationship between the characters?

MO: Yeah. We were born in Indonesia. I know a lot of Americans that have lived in the United States since they were like maybe three or four years old who still speak their own language when they meet other people from their country. It’s just very natural. It’s fun to put little sprinkles of that culture. At the same time, I love how Nick [Santora] didn’t highlight that as if that culture is just an attribute because I would hate to play a character where the only thing you know about her is where she came from. It’s just one part of Lila. It was very smooth. It flows into everything else surrounding Lila and Amisha. Because Amisha has groomed Lila since she was nine or 10 years old, or whatever, I’m pretty sure they had an amazing bond, even if it is a trauma bond.

Do you feel like Lila truly knew just how much of an opponent Reacher would be? Do you think she underestimated him and thought he would have been easier to take out?

MO: She definitely underestimated Reacher. Playing into that whole backstory of them just being villains in general, this must not have been their first time going against someone bigger and stronger. Because they’ve been together for so long, they have this confidence of, “No, I think we’re good. I think we’re going to get this right.” But when someone has been working with another person for that long and there’s that unspoken bond, when you see them together at the bowling alley, Lila already knew what Reacher wanted, and she managed to maneuver in that spot. And Amisha is sad, all of a sudden. That’s the kind of bond you have when you’ve been working with the same person for 15 or 20 years. That’s the kind of relationship we were trying to present.

The Huge Finale Fight Scene Between Reacher, Lila, and Amisha Took Several Challenging Days To Shoot

The fight scene in the finale between Lila, Amisha, and Reacher was so interesting to watch with the choreography of it all. What was it like to rehearse and shoot that scene? Was that a fun fight scene to do?

MO: It was so fun. We actually spent four or five days shooting that because it’s such a long fight scene. And it’s not just fighting. It’s about the camera angles and camera movement that has to play into everything just so that it feels cohesive. And then, there’s the timing of it. It’s not just one person against another person. It’s two people against one person. So, with the camera movement following the choreography, it was very technical. When I first got the job, they only gave us about a month before we had to go to Toronto, and from that first day, we were at training. For those five or six months, whenever we were not filming, I would always be in the studio to train with the stunt team and the stunt coordinators. And then, when we were not training with them, I would be at the gym, just to make sure that I was ready physically.

I would also bring my karambit – the knife –everywhere I went, so that it would feel like second nature to her. That was my first time playing with karambit, but you couldn’t tell that in the show. You’d think that was her baby. I played with it everywhere that I went. I went to a restaurant and was playing with it, and someone was like, “Hey, just put that away.” That’s what was so fun about it. Once I was used to being Lila, I showed up already being her. Even Alan himself knew how much hard work I put into the character, and it showed. It was not something that he was used to. He’s used to punching. With this, he needed to take a second and figure out what was going on. Because we’re obviously shorter than him, it gave us an advantage because we could just slash him wherever, like legs, stomach, and all of that. He’s so used to punching someone bigger or at least the same size, but we were just playing him with karambit.

How do you think Lila felt about Reacher throwing Amisha out the window?

MO: I think that was the first time that she was like, “Oh, shit, this is getting serious.” You could see from the one-on-one fight scene between me and Reacher right after that, that there was a lot of anger and a lot of rage. That’s the reason she was like, “I don’t know what I love more, fucking you or killing you.” It’s all that pent-up anger. She is very composed and very controlled all the time. She never really lost control. But in that fighting scene, you could tell that there was a lot of emotion there.

As the actress playing the character for the full season, how did you feel about the way things ended for Lila? What was your reaction to that?

MO: I think it was supposed to be like that. This show is called Reacher. What’s cool about it is that Nick really plays into the human side of Reacher, especially this season. He almost got killed, and the irony is that it was by women who were arguably a lot smaller than him. But at some point, Reacher has to be the hero. He has to win. That fight scene really embodies everything because it’s the climax of the relationship between Reacher and Lila. To be honest with you, what I really want to know is, what happened to Lila growing up? What happened in the years leading up to her 20s? That’s what I’m really interested in. I did wonder if Lila wasn’t found by Amisha when she was young, would she be a good guy instead of a villain? Maybe she would have been a superhero instead of a supervillain. I want to see the prequel for Lila.

When she gets stabbed with the syringe and you’re on the ground convulsing and bleeding, did you think a lot about how that should look and how you wanted to physically embody that?

MO: Even that voice, we didn’t prepare for that. I was in the scene and I was really tired. I was as tired as the character because I did everything. When we did the fighting scene, it was really me doing the fighting scene and I really got tired. I love that because then the voice and the tone and the growling really did come from a genuine place. By genuine I mean that she’s really tired and she really wants to kill Reacher. When she finally realized, “Oh, man, this is actually me who’s going to get killed,” you could see her face change into almost the first episode Lila. I wanted the audience to wonder if there could be a universe where Lila is actually the Lila in the first episode and the villain Lila is actually a product of her environment and her circumstances. When she’s dying, it wasn’t something that we prepared. We just wanted to keep it cohesive with the person she injected. I wanted to mimic that to keep it consistent. Logically, she had to have the same reaction from the injection.

After Her Time on ‘Reacher,’ Agnez Mo Would Love To Step Back Into More Acting Roles

“I want to try out for ‘Lioness.’ I think that would be amazing.”

Has this inspired you to do more acting again now?

MO: Yeah, absolutely. Let’s see how this plays out. There are already a couple of projects being offered, so we’ll see how it goes. Lila is a character that I really enjoyed. But I would love to step back into it more. When I stopped acting, it wasn’t because I stopped loving acting. The industry, at that time – and we’re talking 15 or 20 years ago – wasn’t as healthy as it is now, with the hours and the safety and all of that. I just felt like, “Man, I really can’t do this for a long time.” But now, everything has changed, so we’ll see. I want to try out for Lioness. I think that would be amazing. Or maybe even a Lila spinoff. I’m just talking shit right now.

The ongoing controversy involving Macklemore and Ed Sheeran took a surprising turn after it was announced that the rapper had been dropped from the tour following his “Free Palestine” remark.

Several stadium owners seemingly forced the promoters’ hand by declaring that they would not allow Macklemore to perform at their venues.

However, fans have taken to social media to call out what many have labeled “hypocrisy” on the stadium executives’ part, particularly as Kanye West is scheduled to perform at some of those same venues despite his history of antisemitic remarks.

Ed Sheeran’s concert promoters removed Macklemore from the remaining dates of his U.S. Loop Tour after several stadium owners seemingly forced their hand by insisting they would not allow the rapper to perform at their venues.

Macklemore, born Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, sparked intense criticism earlier this month when he wore a keffiyeh and chanted “Free Palestine” while performing his protest song “Hind’s Hall” during his opening set at Sheeran’s concert.

The controversy intensified after singer Pink shared a post that accused Macklemore of promoting “anti-Israel propaganda” and called for him to be axed from the tour.

Macklemore Is Dropped From Ed Sheeran’s Tour

Before the controversy, the “Gemini” rapper was scheduled to perform at eight of the tour’s remaining ten shows. The tour is set to resume this weekend in Philadelphia.

However, promoter Messina Touring Group announced that the shows would have to go on without Macklemore because several venues did not want him on their premises.

“As the concert promoter for Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop Tour, we have been notified by venues on the upcoming U.S. tour dates that they will not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup, which would result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans,” the group said in a statement, per Rolling Stone.

They added, “After discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates.”

Macklemore’s Removal Draws Kanye West Comparisons

The decision has raised questions among social media users, who have accused the venues of a blatant double standard because Kanye West remains scheduled to perform at some of the same stadiums.

The “Donda” rapper drew widespread condemnation in 2022 after making a series of antisemitic remarks and social media posts, resulting in the loss of several major brand and creative deals.

His finances also took a major hit, and West lost his billionaire status as his net worth plummeted.

West acknowledged the scale of the damage in an Instagram post addressed to Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, who had urged companies such as Adidas to cut ties with him.

“Ari Emanuel. I lost 2 billion dollars in one day. And I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am,” West wrote, per Billboard.

Despite that history, West is scheduled to perform at AT&T Stadium on November 7. The venue is reportedly among those that refused to host Macklemore.

Fans were even more surprised that a platform selling tickets for West’s concert mentioned that he had previously declared “that there were admirable things about Hitler.”

Fans Blast Macklemore Decision As ‘Hypocritical’

Social media users have slammed the decision to remove Macklemore from Sheeran’s tour. Many branded the move hypocritical because West remains booked to headline shows at some of the venues that opposed Macklemore’s appearance.

“Oct 24 is Ed’s show and Kanye’s is Nov 7. Two weeks apart,” one Reddit user commented, referring to the two concerts scheduled at AT&T Stadium. “You can’t make this sh-t up… the hypocrisy is out of control.”

“They are all so lazy with pretending it’s about antisemitism that they often forget to pretend it’s about antisemitism,” another person wrote.

“What f-cking world are we living in where saying ‘Free Palestine’ is worse than saying you admire Hitler? F-cking hell,” a third user said.

Another added, “Having Kanye perform at all is crazy, but having that Hitler line on the ticket page is INSANE. Like ‘haha this guy said he liked Hitler, what will he do next? Come watch!’ WTF is going on in this world?”

Macklemore Accuses Robert Kraft Of Driving Tour Removal

Meanwhile, Macklemore released a lengthy statement explaining that neither he, Pink, nor Sheeran should be viewed as victims, as they are all financially secure and have families to return to when all is said and done.

The “Thrift Shop” rapper said the real victims are the Palestinian people “who have been killed, starved, displaced, and forced to live through unimaginable violence.”

Macklemore also said he hoped the incident would not affect his relationship with Sheeran. However, he noted that their friendship “can’t change my responsibility to tell the truth about what happened.”

He then named the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft as the person who rallied other stadium owners to oppose his appearance or risk having the shows canceled entirely.

Kraft subsequently shared a statement with The Hollywood Reporter, reaffirming his franchise’s commitment to “providing a welcoming environment for all guests and ensuring that events held at our venue do not provide a platform for hate speech.”

He added that the decision was based on Macklemore’s recent actions and a “broader history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery that we believe has been deeply offensive and hurtful to the Jewish community.”

In the Prime Video TV series Neagley, a spin-off of the hit Reacher, Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) is a private investigator in Chicago, where she’s learned that a friend from her past has been killed in a mysterious but suspicious incident that proves to be no accident. Like her mentor Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), she is hell-bent on justice and even more focused when it’s so personal. Her skill set makes her uniquely qualified to make those responsible answer for their crimes. But with the assistance of a rag-tag team – Detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt), Renee Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph), and Keno (Jasper Jones) – who can each provide help in their own ways, Neagley realizes that they’re actually stronger together and she doesn’t have to do everything on her own.

Collider recently got the opportunity to chat with Nicholas Wootton, who is the co-creator alongside Nick Santora, about why the arc of the team is one of his favorite parts of the series, that they’ve already figured things out for Season 2, wanting to explore Renee’s missing brother more deeply, digging into the Haphephobia that Frances is trying to understand, the importance of Neagley shaking Reacher’s hand for the first time, the evolving dynamic between Frances and Hudson, Renee and Keno’s kiss, and whether the team could ever expand.

‘Neagley’s Co-Creator Loves the Team That Frances Is Forming Around Her

“All she wants to do is keep people at arm’s distance, and they are just burrowing their way in.”

COLLIDER: I love that Frances Neagley is going to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves, which essentially makes her a hero. At the same time, she’s not only dealing with her own trauma, but she doesn’t let the trauma that Hudson, Renee, and Keno are all dealing with stop her from wanting them to back her up and be a part of her team. What do you love about the bond that the team is forming, and what do you hope to dig into further with them for a possible Season 2 and beyond?

NICK WOOTTON: The arc of the team is one of my favorite parts of this. Neagley begins the story with these people where all she wants to do is ditch them. She’s like, “All I want to do is not talk to any one of these people,” and they just keep forcing their way into this case and her life. It’s very thematic to her entire world. All she wants to do is keep people at arm’s distance, and they are just burrowing their way in. I love that stuff, and I love where it goes, going forward. Ultimately, they become her built family. That would obviously continue into Season 2, should we be so lucky.

We have seeded stuff for the other characters, as well. There is more to be mined with Hudson’s family connection in crime. There’s more to be mined with Renee and her missing brother. There are all these other elements that we’re seeding in. Also, Neagley and her Haphephobia we get to a point with, but that’s a deep-seated trauma that doesn’t just take a few weeks to get over. We’d see that reverberate into even more intimate personal relationships. We’re very hopeful and excited for Season 2.

In the finale, Renee talks about wanting to find her brother, which keeps it very present in the minds of the viewers. Do you want to dig deeper into that in Season 2, or is that something you’d want to hold off on for a bit? Have you thought about how soon you want to explore that?

WOOTTON: We’d totally go into it in Season 2. There’s a big twist in there and a whole thing. It’s a really fun story for Renee, and Keno is tied into it as well because he’s helping her find him and it’s the discovery of who he is. We have a whole storyline for it. We have it all figured out. It’s all written.

It Was Important for Neagley’s Handshake Breakthrough To Be With Reacher

“It was very early on in the development that that was going to be the final moment with Reacher.”

Did you always know that you were going to get to a point this season where Neagley would shake hands with Reacher for the first time? Why was it important to do that before the end of the season?

WOOTTON: Because it shows an arc. It shows that her development is incremental, and we thought it was the best way to do that. It’s Reacher. It’s not Hudson. It’s not a kiss, which I think may have been expected. It’s just this very restrained handshake with somebody with whom she’s known for years and is enormously safe with and yet is able to take this leap. I think it was very early on in the development that that was going to be the final moment with Reacher.

Was that “I can’t believe it, you’ve got soft hands” line always in the script?

WOOTTON: Yes! It was very early on that that came up.

She’s probably the only person that could get away with saying that.

WOOTTON: Totally! You’re exactly right. And then, he would laugh at it. No, nobody else could say that.

Neagley and Hudson Are Each Outsiders Who Learn That They Might Actually Get More Done Together

“Hudson is an outsider to his family, and Neagley is an outsider to the world.”

I love how the relationship between Neagley and Hudson continues to evolve over this season. There’s the funny moment when he says, “I like you even though you’re not always nice,” and they clearly respect each other. What do you like most about that dynamic between the characters, but also just watching what Maria Sten and Greyston Holt brought to that relationship?

WOOTTON: I love watching them work. They were so good together. It was seeing two people who I think feel that they are very fully formed. Hudson is like, “I am not my family. I am me. I’m a cop. Deal with it.” For Neagley, it’s, “Back off. I’m a lone wolf.” It’s two people that come together, who feel that they are extraordinarily formed, and then realize when they come together that they are not. They really have space in each other’s lives for each other, they just don’t quite know what that looks like. It’s that awkward coming together of those two outsiders. Ultimately, Hudson is an outsider to his family, and Neagley is an outsider to the world. To see them coming together was very fun. And also, Neagley being like, “The last thing I ever want to do is have any relationship with a guy like you,” and yet it blossoms as the season goes on.

There’s something so funny about Neagley not caring that Hudson doesn’t want to have anything to do with this family. If it’s useful for her, she wants him to just go talk to them and get it done.

WOOTTON: Totally. He’s like, “I haven’t talked to my dad in two years.” And she’s like, “Just go to the prison and talk to him.” It’s great.

Renee and Keno May Each Interpret That ‘Neagley’ Finale Kiss in Different Ways

“It’s a tremendous complication for her and for him.”

I love that Renee kissing Keno in the finale before she walks away. What did you think that moment meant? How do you think their dynamic will continue to evolve? What do you love about that relationship?

WOOTTON: Ultimately, it’s a tremendous complication for her and for him. Maybe they each take it a different way. There are two interpretations of that kiss. His is definitely going to be one, and hers another. We had a really fun time with that throughout the season. Going into this other element of her life, which is this familial issue, is something that we’ll see investigated throughout the season and there’s a complication regarding that. They are two people who kind of want nothing to do with each other and do not exist on the same planet, and yet somehow manage to find respect for one another. He certainly is in love with her. She’s not necessarily.

Since you’ve obviously thought about the show and the characters quite a bit, would you want to add more characters to this team in the future? Have you thought about whether you would bring in other people to work with them? Do you feel like it’s good to just keep the main team at four people?

WOOTTON: Right now, we really like the main team at four people. Going forward, there are definitely more elements that come into the second season as we’re designing it. They have a tough path, those new people. The core four are what we’re really developing.

Aside from showing up to give her mentor Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) a hand when he finds himself in sticky situations with very bad people on Reacher, Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) typically prefers to be a lone wolf. It wasn’t until things got very personal and she decided to pursue answers about a friend from her past having been killed in a mysterious but suspicious incident that proves to be no accident that Neagley realizes a team – including Detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt), Renee Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph), and Keno (Jasper Jones) – actually makes her stronger. They each come with their own baggage, whether that’s being a cop from a family of criminals, an assistant with a missing brother, or a young homeless man willing to break the rules, but Neagley can’t hold them against them when she brings along a bunch of baggage of her own.

Collider recently got the opportunity to chat with co-stars Holt, Rudolph, and Jones about how their characters fit into the world of Neagley, the fight scene that almost shut down production, Renee’s hidden skills, the unfortunate way Keno’s relationship with Mandy played out, Renee’s desire to find her brother, and what that kiss with Keno could mean for both of them.

An Intense Fight Scene in Episode 7 Almost Led to ‘Neagley’s Production Being Shut Down

“It was kind of scary for everybody.”

COLLIDER: To jump right into spoilers, Greyston, in Episode 7, Hudson and Murphy get into a pretty intense fight where you both are getting hit and thrown around. You ultimately kill him in what’s clearly a kill or be killed situation. What was it like to shoot that brutal fight?

GREYSTON HOLT: Yeah, I’ve done quite a few fight sequences over my career, and that fight, I’m the most proud of. There’s something so visceral and real and raw about it, and scrappy and messy. Neither of our characters from a background in martial arts. We’re just like trying to survive by trying to get the gun. That one was great. The last take of it, I twisted my ankle. I couldn’t walk on it. It was kind of scary for everybody. That can really hold up production. I really thought I was going to be out for at least a few days. And then, I went to the hospital and I felt better the next day, miraculously. So, strong ankles.

It’s a pretty great fight to watch because your character seemed pretty evenly matched throughout it.

HOLT: Yeah, you don’t know who’s going to win. I mean, you can assume, but it’s not obvious who’s going to come out on top.

Adeline, also in Episode 7, Renee ends up killing two people in an alley and has to explain to Neagley how she was even able to do that. What did you think of that moment? How do you think she felt about all of that? And what was that like to shoot?

ADELINE RUDOLPH: It was really fun. Neagley does ask, “How the heck did you do that?” So, Renee does have a background when it comes to martial arts, and she does have a background when it comes to being able to handle a weapon. She’s just never had to put it into practice. And so, I think that’s what we, the audience, get to see for the very first time – her really applying this to a real-life situation and being rattled by it emotionally, but also just having to do it because it was their lives were on the line.

I loved it because comes out of nowhere, and she is so effective at it.

RUDOLPH: A hundred percent. Yes. Yeah.

Jasper Jones Is Inspired by Keno’s Spirit and Lack of Cynicism in ‘Neagley’

“He definitely came into his own.”

Jasper, there’s something particularly sad about how everything plays out between Keno and Mandy. How did you feel about that relationship? Do you wish he could have gotten through to her in some way, or do you think it was important for him finding his own inner strength to be able to see through that kind of manipulation?

JASPER JONES: I think a bit of both. He definitely came into his own to see through the manipulation. But it just goes to show, the worst thing that could happen to him, in that moment, happens. This young man put his life on the line for this girl, multiple times. And to just have her spit in his face like that, that’s brutal. That’s brutal. But I think it’s really a testament to how strong the Keno spirit is. He gets mad, but he doesn’t become cynical. That’s the thing that I found most inspiring about him.

Greyston, before the end of the finale, Hudson actually gets congratulated for taking out Murphy instead of getting in trouble for it. How do you think he felt about that? Is that going to be something that he has to come to terms with? Is he going to have to reevaluate what he’s willing to do when it comes to taking down bad guys, if he’s going to continue working with Neagley?

HOLT: There was a lot of vindication in that moment, but I don’t think that changes his approach. He was put in a very specific situation there. I don’t think he’s going to go out seeking to kill cops now. It was just a particular situation. He was fighting for his life. I don’t even think he was trying to kill Murphy. It just happened. That’s what can happen when shit gets messy and you’re fighting for your life.

Adeline, Renee wants to find her brother, so do you hope you’ll be able to get into that in a possible Season 2? Do you have more insight for yourself, as far as where all that is going, or do you just have the questions that we all have?

RUDOLPH: A little bit of both. I definitely have the same questions. I don’t know where it’s going to go. But I do definitely think it’s something that we must be able to explore. It’s such a big part of Renee’s motivation in Season 1. She calls in this favor with Neagley, and now that she’s done Neagley this favor of helping her on the Tommy Crane case, I feel like she’s owed something now too. We leave on that note as well, in that final moment with Renee and Keno, where she’s showing him a photo. Let’s see what other secrets there are and what else we can uncover.

What Will That Renee and Keno Finale Kiss Mean in the Future of ‘Neagley’?

“It was just in the spur of the moment.”

I love that Keno and Renee do get to a point where they believe in each other and she kisses him before she walks away. What do you think that moment meant to each of them? How do you think their dynamic will continue to evolve in the future?

JONES: I’ll speak for Keno. I think Keno is starstruck. It’s just like, “Oh, my God, I didn’t think that a girl like that would ever do something like that.” It just wallops him. It wallops him in the best way. I like that we got to catch that spark of awe on camera. And that was a beautiful day. We were shooting in a park, and it just all came so naturally. We were working with MJ Bassett, and she’s a great director.

RUDOLPH: I like that there was something very innocent about the kiss. It didn’t feel like this grand gesture of love or anything. It was just in the spur of the moment. These two characters have gone through a lot, and they’ve built this relationship where they trust each other and feel a fondness and closeness. Dare I say that moment for Renee was spontaneous, even though she’s not necessarily a spontaneous person. There’s something very innocent about it, even on Renee’s side, which maybe is a side of her that we haven’t gotten to see yet and that comes out in that moment.

JONES: It felt like a button to all of this horror that we just went through. It felt like a good button that was natural and honest, as opposed to, “Let’s be boyfriend and girlfriend.”

RUDOLPH: Exactly.

JONES: It just felt natural, like it would happen that way.

HOLT: I thought you guys played that scene beautifully.

It’s really cute, especially with her walking away. It doesn’t leave a moment for him to say anything to mess it up.

RUDOLPH: Yeah.

JONES: Mic drop.

Field also spoke about the charitable work and generosity that defined so much of Parton’s life, describing her as “a humanitarian whose contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of so many in her home state of Tennessee and across our country.”

While Hollywood continues to mourn, officials in Nashville are working on something far more permanent: ensuring that generations of travelers encounter Parton’s name the moment they arrive in Music City.

The effort to rename Nashville International Airport in her honor has moved significantly closer to becoming reality. 

Earlier this month, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority voted unanimously, 6-0, to begin the formal process of modifying the airport’s name in recognition of the late singer. 

Officials stressed that they had not yet selected a final name, but confirmed discussions were underway about how best to incorporate Parton’s legacy.

While Tennessee looks for ways to honor Parton physically, fans are also discovering that her creative legacy is far from finished.

In the weeks following her death, renewed interest has emerged around previously unheard music that Parton left behind. 

As PEOPLE reported, one of the most intriguing revelations came from bestselling author Kim Michele Richardson, who disclosed that Parton created an entire album inspired by her novel “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.”

According to Richardson, the project contains 15 original songs and was gifted to her privately after Parton fell in love with the story’s themes of literacy and Appalachian life. 

At the same time, Parton’s first posthumous release has already arrived. Her recording of “Bound to Ride,” a song connected to the Stanley Brothers tribute album “Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of the Stanley Brothers,” was released just weeks after her passing.

The recording was originally made in 2022 and has been described as a return to her Appalachian roots.

Kim Kardashian has reportedly walked away with 1 euro after the conclusion of her Paris robbery case — but did she want more?

According to The Associated Press, a Paris court awarded 1 euro ($1.15) to Kardashian, 45, on Tuesday, September 15, nearly 10 years after she was held at gunpoint and allegedly forced to hand over her expensive jewelry.

The outlet reported that a lawyer involved in the case claimed Kardashian requested 1 euro as compensation following the conclusion of the case.

While Kardashian didn’t address the monetary aspect of her case, she issued a joint statement with stylist Simone Harouche on Tuesday, thanking the French justice system for working diligently. (Harouche, who was present during the robbery, was also awarded the 1 euro she asked for, per the AP.)

“We are grateful to the French justice system for recognizing us as victims of the terrible events that took place in Paris in 2016,” the pair told Us in a statement. “The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us.”

Kardashian and Harouche continued, “Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition. We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal.”

In October 2016, Kardashian traveled to Paris for Fashion Week, carrying with her a case of jewelry worth over $10 million.

While the reality star was alone in her hotel room one night, five men reportedly broke into her room claiming to be law enforcement and demanded she hand over her $4 million engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West.

“I heard a noise at the door, like, footsteps, and I shouted to ask who was there, but no one answered,” Kardashian told the French police, according to Le Journal du Dimanche. “I called my bodyguard at 2:56 a.m. Then, beyond the sliding doors, I saw two people arrive with the gentleman from reception, and he was tied up.”

Kardashian alleged, “Both men were hooded, one had a ski mask and he had a cap and a jacket with ‘police’ on it. The second man had the same ‘police’ clothes, but did not have any ski mask. … It was the one with the ski mask who stayed with me.”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum claimed that the assailants tied her up and pointed a gun at her before leaving with the jewels.

Harouche later recalled being woken up to a sound she’d never heard before from her longtime friend.

“It was terror,” Harouche told Palais de Justice, noting she was asleep downstairs when the alleged robbery transpired. “What I heard specifically was ‘I have babies and I need to live, take everything, I need to live.’ She came into my room and she had tape around her. I thought she could have been raped or very violated.”

In January 2017, multiple suspects were arrested, with 10 individuals eventually being charged in connection with the robbery.

“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family,” Kardashian said in a statement after the May 2025 verdict. “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. The AP reported on Tuesday that the Paris court awarded 109,516 euros ($126,472) to a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès .

According to the outlet, the hotel itself — which is where Kardashian was staying at the time of the robbery — was also awarded 50,000 euros ($57,741).

Ed Sheeran‘s Loop Tour is facing another wave of changes following the controversy surrounding Macklemore‘s removal due to his pro-Palestine remarks at a performance. The rapper was dropped from remaining dates, and now, other music acts have departed in solidarity with Macklemore. The exits have left Sheeran’s tour lineup looking very different as the controversy continues to unfold.

Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour is greatly affecting how the rest of the remaining concert dates will play out. As Macklemore noted in a lengthy post, Sheeran was caught in a “f-cked up position” after venues said they wouldn’t host concerts if he was performing, per The Blast.

After Macklemore’s dismissal, one of the other opening acts, Aaron Rowe, decided to exit the tour. “I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder or children,” he said in a statement.

Macklemore said billionaire businessman Robert Kraft, who owns one of the concert venues, Gillette Stadium, rallied other venue owners to remove him from the lineup or Sheeran wouldn’t be allowed to perform at the locations.

Now, all the supporting acts have taken a stance, announcing their departures from the tour.

Lukas Graham And Finneas Announce Their Exits

The other two remaining supporting acts, Lukas Graham and Finneas, have also made announcements about their departure from the tour.

Finneas took to Instagram and posted a simple statement, saying that artists “must not be silenced” when they draw attention to those facing oppression. “I stand with Palestine and its people,” he wrote.

Graham, on the other hand, said he was grateful to Sheeran for their time together, but he has to stand by his beliefs. “I grew up in Christiania, a small community in Denmark where speaking your mind was part of everyday life. Having more money didn’t make your opinion worth more than anyone else’s,” he wrote.

The Irish band, Beoga, has been working with Sheeran for more than a decade, collaborating on tracks and joining the singer for live performances and tours.

The group announced their exit from the Loop Tour on Instagram and expressed their appreciation to Sheeran for the opportunity they have been given. However, they noted that they were present during Macklemore’s controversial speech and “fully supported” his remarks.

“As founding members of the Irish Artists For Palestine movement, we are committed activists for justice and will continue to be,” Beoga noted.

Ed Sheeran Clarified Facts Amid Backlash

Following Macklemore’s dismissal, Sheeran faced backlash for remaining apolitical. The singer took to social media and clarified his stance, noting that he, too, is “appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine.”

Sheeran shared that he had been in talks with venues and attempted to “build a bridge” and find a resolution following Macklemore’s pro-Palestine remarks, “but the venue’s and promoter’s decision was final.” He stressed that Macklemore’s contract was with the promoter, and it was their judgment to remove him from the lineup.

The singer went on to say that he has personal views but chooses not to make them public because his audience includes children and people from all backgrounds. “Those who come to my shows do not expect a political forum,” he noted.

Critics Challeng Ed Sheeran’s Apolitical Stance

Amid the controversy, some point out that Sheeran had been vocal about certain issues in the past, making his apolitism selective.

Sheeran has previously used his platform to support Ukraine, including performing at a fundraiser and donating royalties from his “2step” music video to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Some argue that Sheeran remaining silent about the Israel-Palestine conflict can itself be interpreted as taking a side, especially since other artists have used their platforms to speak out.

Jackson Olson had the full support of his girlfriend, Maggie Sajak, for his Dancing With the Stars debut.

Olson, 28, kicked off the Tuesday, September 15, premiere with a Savannah Bananas-themed cha-cha to “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls alongside pro partner Emma Slater. At the end of the duo’s high-energy routine, the cameras cut to Sajak, 31, in the front row.

Hartley, 49, spoke about Colter’s death count so far, telling Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, September 15, “I was like, ‘Well, this guy can’t be killing six people per week. This is ridiculous.’”

Based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel The Never Game, Tracker follows Colter as he travels the country helping to find missing people (or sometimes dogs) and solving cold cases. Hartley previously caused some concern when he hinted that Colter might not survive every case he is on.

“The season 3 finale, this actually is kind of a spoiler. But basically my character dies and he goes to heaven,” Hartley quipped on a May episode of The Tonight Show. “The angels are like, ‘Help, Abraham Lincoln is missing.’ So I track him down and it turns out he’s at a Jamba Juice. It was unbelievable.”

While the finale didn’t actually show Colter in a near-death situation, Hartley hasn’t ruled it out as an option.

“It’s important to keep upping the stakes. I like being Colter as a hero, finding people and all that. I also really like seeing him in a suspenseful thriller and a dangerous situation,” he told The Hollywood Reporter about the high stakes his character faces in April 2025. “I don’t want our audience to forget that this man is mortal, he’s not a superhero. He can die! The things he is doing are very very dangerous.”

More recently, executive producer Elwood Reid weighed in on Colter’s fate.

“Some of the danger is in here because he’s not a cop. He is this guy who is poking his nose in places. The network is always like, ‘He can get messed up, he can lose a fight, he can get conked on the head and he can have a gun pointed at him,’” Reid, 59, told Us in October 2025. “Justin pitched an idea for the season 3 midseason finale where it doesn’t go well for Colter. That’s what makes him fun is he is not a superhero.”

Reid noted that Tracker is always searching for ways to surprise viewers.

“When I watch a lot of these types of shows, the minute the character becomes infallible or perfect then I’m uninterested,” Reid explained. “I like when characters have flaws and make mistakes and are mortal and can be wounded and can screw up.”

He continued: “I’m very conscious of not making Colter too perfect. We are scuffing him up, letting him screw up and letting him do the wrong thing. I think that’s what makes the character fun to write — at least for me.”
