7 Detective Shows That Are 10/10, No Notes

Published

on

Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Guillory looking surprised with Daniel Sunjata as Karadec in High Potential

The detective show is one of the most entertaining TV genres. Whether it be a procedural with weekly mysteries or a series with one ongoing mystery per season, these shows draw viewers in with compelling storylines and shocking plot twists. Detective procedurals see one main character – either a detective, a police consultant, or a private investigator – using their unique skills or experience to solve crimes each week that nobody else could.

Meanwhile, other detective series with ongoing storylines will slowly entangle an overarching mystery over the course of each of their seasons. Great detective shows balance exciting mysteries with a focus on their characters, particularly their crime-solving protagonist and the complications of their job or unique skill. These are the detective shows that are 10/10, no notes.

‘High Potential’ (2024–Present)

Based on the French-Belgian series HPI, High Potential follows Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson), a woman with High Potential intellect. Morgan is a mother with three kids, and she works as a night cleaner for the LAPD. One night, while cleaning the Major Crimes division, Morgan notices an inconsistency in the murder board. Unable to let it go, she fixes the issue herself, which leads to Major Crimes bringing her on as a full-time consultant.

One of the best subgenres of the detective show is the type where a quirky consultant with a unique skill that helps them solve crimes in a way that the police can’t. High Potential takes this concept and runs with it in the best way. Each week, Morgan solves a murder or other major crime alongside her partner, Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). Every weekly murder mystery is compelling on its own, and ends in a shocking murder reveal. The series also has a major overarching mystery: 15 years before the start of the series, Morgan’s boyfriend and the father of her first child suddenly disappeared. Now, with the LAPD on her side, Morgan is determined to find out what happened to him.

‘A Man on the Inside’ (2024–Present)

A Man on the Inside is a hilarious and heartwarming dramedy series that follows Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson), a widower and retired professor. Charles is only becoming more isolated with each passing day, and his daughter, Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), is concerned about him. At the same time that Emily suggests that Charles get a job or a hobby, he stumbles upon a newspaper advertisement from Private Investigator Julie Kovalenko (Lilah Richcreek Estrada). Julie is looking for someone who can go undercover as a resident in a retirement community, and Charles turns out to be just the person for the job.

Charles has neither the experience nor the personality type to be a spy, but his outside perspective winds up benefiting him on the job. A Man on the Inside is a hilarious fish-out-of-water story, but it’s also really touching, as it sees Charles slowly finding a community for himself again for the first time since his wife’s death. Each season so far has a compelling central mystery that sees Charles going undercover to investigate, and they both build up to excellent reveals that keep viewers guessing until the very end.

Rizzoli & Isles is a crime procedural that follows the partnership of Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and her forensic pathologist best friend, Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander). For both Jane and Maura, their jobs are pretty much their whole lives. Jane isn’t interested in letting anyone else in, and Maura has a hard time connecting with people. The two of them get each other, though, and they work really well together. With the combination of Jane’s expert investigative skills and Maura’s knowledge of the clues that a dead body can reveal, they’re able to solve murders that nobody else can.

Rizzoli & Isles is one of the darker and grittier detective shows. It doesn’t shy away from showing the heavy realities of Jane and Maura’s jobs, and they regularly work on brutal and disturbing murder cases. Rizzoli & Isles is a deeply entertaining series that will keep viewers engaged with both weekly murder mysteries and a number of twisty overarching storylines. It’s also a darkly funny show with sharp writing and excellent banter between Jane and Maura.

‘Veronica Mars’ (2004–2019)

Veronica Mars follows a teen detective named Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell). The series picks up after the once-popular Veronica has lost pretty much everything following the murder of her best friend, Lilly (Amanda Seyfried). Nobody knows for sure who did it, and after accusing the wrong person, Veronica’s sheriff father, Keith (Enrico Colantoni), has gotten them both ostracized from the rest of their small town.

Keith soon opens his own private investigative firm, and Veronica helps him solve cases. Each episode shows her working on a different weekly case, while also slowly trying to get to the bottom of an overarching murder mystery for that season. In Season 1, Veronica investigates Lilly’s murder, particularly after discovering that the man who was imprisoned for killing her did not actually do it. Veronica Mars is an excellent detective series with dark storylines, fantastic writing, and a compelling and nuanced protagonist.

Camp Crystal Lake · Friday the 13th

Jason Voorhees

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.

  • He moves in straight lines toward his target. He doesn’t strategise, doesn’t adapt, doesn’t outsmart. He simply pursues.
  • Your ability to keep moving, use the environment, and resist the panic that freezes most victims gives you a genuine edge.
  • The Crystal Lake survivors were always the ones who stopped running in circles and started thinking about terrain, water, and distance.
  • You think like that. Which means Jason, for all his indestructibility, would face someone who simply refused to be where he expected.

Haddonfield, Illinois · Halloween

Michael Myers

Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.

  • But you are paying attention. You notice the shape in the window, the car parked slightly wrong, the silence where there should be sound.
  • Michael’s power lies in the invisibility of ordinary suburbia — the fact that nothing ever looks wrong until it already is.
  • Your spatial awareness and instinct to map every room, every exit, and every shadow before you need them is precisely the quality Laurie Strode had.
  • You are not a victim waiting to happen. You are someone who already suspects something is wrong — and acts on it.

Elm Street · A Nightmare on Elm Street

Freddy Krueger

Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.

  • You are harder to destabilise than most. You’ve faced uncomfortable truths about yourself and you haven’t looked away.
  • The survivors on Elm Street were always the ones who understood what was happening and chose to face it rather than flee from it.
  • Freddy’s greatest weakness is that his power evaporates in the presence of someone who refuses to give him the fear he feeds on.
  • Your psychological resilience — the ability to stay grounded when reality itself becomes unreliable — is exactly the quality that keeps you alive here.

Derry, Maine · It

Pennywise

Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.

  • The Losers Club didn’t survive because they were braver than everyone else. They survived because they faced their fears together, and faced them honestly.
  • You ask the questions others avoid. You look directly at what frightens you rather than turning away.
  • That directness — the refusal to let fear fester in the dark — is Pennywise’s worst nightmare.
  • It chose the wrong target when it chose you. You are exactly the kind of person whose fear tastes like nothing at all.

Chicago · Child’s Play

Chucky

Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.

  • You don’t have that gap. You take threats seriously regardless of how they present — and you never make the mistake of underestimating something because of its size or appearance.
  • Chucky relies on surprise, on the delay between recognition and response. You close that delay faster than almost anyone.
  • Your instinct to treat every unfamiliar thing with appropriate scepticism — rather than dismissing it because it seems absurd — is the exact quality that keeps you breathing.
  • Against Chucky, not laughing is already winning. You are very good at not laughing.

Castle is another fantastic procedural about the unlikely partnership between a serious detective and a consultant who thinks out of the box. Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) is a wildly successful and famous author who writes murder mystery novels. This has naturally gone to his head quite a bit, and he enjoys it all a little too much. When a serial killer starts killing victims by reenacting murders from Castle’s books, the NYPD reaches out to him for help on the case.

What starts out as just one case turns into a regular arrangement, and Castle becomes a consultant for the NYPD. He partners up with Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), and each episode, the two of them solve crimes together. Castle is a fun and often silly procedural that also has a number of suspenseful storylines and compelling weekly mysteries, and it makes for an excellent binge-watch.

‘Pushing Daisies’ (2007–2009)

Pushing Daisies is a detective show set in a cozy, fairytale-esque world. It follows Ned (Lee Pace), a piemaker with a secret: barring some very specific rules and conditions, Ned can wake the dead with a single touch. When he’s not running his pie shop, Ned helps private investigator Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve murders, by waking the victims and asking them who killed them. Each episode shows Ned and Emerson solving a different outlandish and over-the-top murder, and often, the victims’ reveals aren’t much help to them.

When Emerson’s latest case is an investigation into the murder of Ned’s estranged childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel), he wakes her up to ask her who did it. Even though Chuck doesn’t know, Ned finds himself unable to touch her back to death, and the two reunite for the first time in almost two decades. Chuck sticks around and adjusts to life as an undead person, while she and Ned get to know each other again as adults. The only problem is, they can never touch, or she will go back to being dead forever.

‘Psych’ (2006–2014)

It’s hard to find a better detective show out there than Psych, even if its protagonist is far from a detective. The hilarious procedural follows Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez), a man who lacks drive and focus, but has a photographic memory – and phenomenal attention to detail that was honed for years by his detective father (Corbin Bernsen). Shawn solves crimes better than the police do, and will occasionally call them to give tips about who did it. When he flies a little too close to the sun, Shawn is accused of committing the crime he’s trying to solve, so he saves face by pretending to be a psychic.

What starts as an impulsive way to get himself out of trouble turns into a new job for Shawn. With the help of his best friend, Gus (Dulé Hill), Shawn opens a psychic agency that regularly consults on cases for the Santa Barbara Police Department. Each episode sees Shawn and Gus teaming up to solve a different case together, all while Shawn has to do the additional work to convince the people around him that he’s solved the case using his psychic powers.

Jelly Roll And Bunnie Xo Speak Out After Divorce News:

Published

on

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO at the 68th GRAMMY Awards Pre-GRAMMY Gala

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are speaking about the breakdown of their marriage a few days after reports of their divorce spread. On June 15, several publications reported that the singer filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years in May, the same month they separated. Soon after, speculations about their split quickly made the rounds online.

The former couple has now spoken out separately, addressing the speculations head-on and debunking claims. Their comments offer a clearer picture of where they stand amid the ongoing chatter.

Jelly Roll is in the middle of a tour, and during a performance in Saratoga Springs on June 18, the singer talked about his divorce from Bunnie Xo in front of his fans, a clip of which was uploaded to his social media.

“While we’re talking about liars, the internet is a liar too,” Jelly Roll prefaced, adding it was the only time he was going to talk about his relationship and urging the audience to take out their phones and record.

“Me and my wife are best friends, we will always be best friends. I will love her. She will probably be the only woman I’ll ever love the way I loved her,” Jelly Roll shared. He said they just spoke on the phone earlier that day and addressed one of the rumors, saying, “Nobody cheated on nobody.”

The Singer Declared His Love For Bunnie Xo

Jelly Roll also urged the crowd to watch Bunnie Xo’s podcast, where she spoke about their separation and divorce. “She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth,” the singer continued.

On June 18, Bunnie Xo released an episode of the “Dumb Blonde Podcast” titled “The Divorce” and shared what transpired before their separation and their plans moving forward.

“That will be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it. Bunnie, I love you, baby. Thank you for those 10 years. They were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship, and 20 beyond that,” Jelly Roll said in front of the audience, who were cheering for him.

Bunnie Xo Had A Fight That Led To Divorce

On her podcast, Bunnie Xo shed some light on what led to her separation and divorce from Jelly Roll. The podcaster admitted that she and the singer “never argued” in their relationship and were bad at handling disagreements. “So, he would be holding things in. I would be holding things in, and that’s a recipe for disaster,” she explained.

She and Jelly Roll argued on Mother’s Day, but didn’t disclose what it was about. Bunnie Xo was “fed up and so tired” that she told her husband, “Well, then file the f-cking divorce papers.”

“In our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times. But, when I say it, it really holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean,” Bunnie Xo added.

Bunnie Xo packed a bag and left Jelly Roll, and they didn’t communicate for weeks afterward.

The Podcaster Said The Divorce Wasn’t Mutual

Bunnie Xo said her husband was “so mad,” and he did exactly what she told him to do. As The Blast previously reported, the singer filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, on May 18 after 10 years of marriage.

The podcaster shared that the decision wasn’t mutual, and she wanted to give the marriage a chance by going to therapy to “figure sh-t out.” However, Jelly Roll thought differently. “It was not mutual. Even though I told him to file the divorce papers, I was speaking out of anger and frustration,” Bunnie Xo said.

Regardless, Bunnie Xo has come to terms with the fate of their marriage, adding that what happened was a necessary “wake-up call” that led them to have difficult conversations.

Bunnie Xo And Jelly Roll Are Still Having A Baby Together

Before the divorce filing, both Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll openly talked about wanting to have a baby together. In her memoir, which was released in February, the podcaster revealed that they had found a surrogate.

It seems the divorce isn’t putting a damper on those plans, as Bunnie Xo shared that they will still be having a baby together. “We’re going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn’t what you guys think this is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally just we served our purpose for each other,” she explained.

She continued to say that while the public seems to dwell on their past, they are looking forward to the future, saying,”Being happy and healthy and best friends through this is probably the biggest gift that we could have given each other.”

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck and her husband, Zac Affleck, are expanding their family again with baby No. 4.

The couple’s pregnancy announcement comes two months after fans speculated that Jen and Zack were experiencing marital trouble, as the influencer did not wear her wedding ring in a tearful TikTok video discussing her “next chapter.”

“In the last two to three years, so much has happened,” Jen said in the April video, noting that her family had moved five times in one year. “Between two babies, reality TV show, Dancing With the Stars, moving, identity, faith, life crisis, I’m very hopeful for this next chapter of my life.”

How Tyra Banks Can Win Lawsuit Against Netflix

Published

Derek Hough Wasn't 'Surprised' When 'DWTS' Let Tyra Banks Go As Host

Tyra Banks broke the internet last weekend when it was revealed that she was suing Netflix for defamation after the streaming giant released a documentary about the downfall of her reality TV show, “America’s Next Top Model.” In the documentary, in which Banks participated, the Victoria’s Secret supermodel talks about some of the show’s biggest scandals and takes responsibility for sometimes going “too far.” However, in her bombshell lawsuit against Netflix, Banks is accusing the streamer of deliberately manufacturing a false narrative by editing her interviews to portray her in a negative light.

Rachel Bennett, a certified family law specialist, spoke with Us Weekly about Banks’ shocking lawsuit and revealed whether the superstar model has any grounds to sue Netflix for defamation.

“It’s actually a really interesting claim, because generally documentary producers enjoy broad creative agency over how to edit and how to put together footage, and that’s all under the First Amendment,” said Bennett.

She went on to say that documentary creators typically have the “creative freedom” to edit interviews in ways that may portray them negatively, so long as the edit “is not completely false.”

“Where it crosses a line into defamation is where something is so heavily edited that it completely manufactures facts that are just objectively not true,” she said.

Banks filed her lawsuit against Netflix on Saturday, June 13, claiming that her appearance in Netflix’s “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model” was defamatory and edited to paint her in a negative light.

“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America’s Next Top Model (‘ANTM’) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy—its successes and its shortcomings,” part of the suit reads. “There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability, and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly.”

In her lawsuit, Banks accuses Netflix of using only 16 minutes of her three-hour interview in the docuseries, leaving critical bits of information on the cutting-room floor to shape a narrative that would elicit a negative response.

“Viewers of a documentary do not expect manufactured drama or constructed narratives. They expect facts. Because they were promised a documentary, that is exactly how viewers interacted with the Netflix Series,” the lawsuit continues.

Tyra Banks Says She Went ‘Too Far’ In Netflix Documentary About Modeling Competition Show

The “America’s Next Top Model” documentary was released in February 2026, and in the three-part series, Banks opens up about the good, the bad, and the ugly.

She also revisited some of the modeling competition show’s most controversial moments, including the race-swap challenge, the homeless photoshoot, and the devastating makeovers.

“I knew I went too far. It was very, very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing it, more and more and more,” she said.

Banks wasn’t the only person from “America’s Next Top Model” involved in the series. Also featured were former judges Miss J. Alexander, Jay Manuel, and photographer Nigel Barker. Executive producer Ken Mok was also part of the series, as well as past contestants Dani Evans, Shandi Sullivan, Shannon Stewart, Ebony Haith, Keenyah Hill, and Whitney Thompson, according to Netflix’s Tudum.

Banks Addressed The Show’s Controversies In February 2025

The Netflix docuseries wasn’t the first time Banks publicly addressed her shortcomings as they relate to “America’s Next Top Model.” In February 2025, the mother of one spoke at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards and shared an emotional statement about the challenges she faced while working to create positive change in the fashion industry.

“Over 20 years ago I created a show called ‘America’s Next Top Model,’” she said. “And you guys have no idea how hard we fought to bring the diversity to that television show at a time when it didn’t exist; to show different beauties at a time when the world was like, ‘What? You casting that?’ A time when people in the fashion industry were telling me, ‘You putting the girls from the hood on your show?’”

Banks explained that she fought for women from diverse backgrounds and with different body types to be featured on the series, calling it a “struggle” she eventually overcame. “Did we get it right? Hell no. I said some dumb s–t,” she continued. “But I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the Internet when there were 24 cycles of changing the world. And I am so excited that I, and so many of us, have opened that door for others to follow.”

Bunnie Xo Breaks Silence on Jelly Roll Split, Reason Revealed

Published

on

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo

Bunnie Xo has broken her silence after her estranged husband, Jelly Roll, filed for divorce after nearly 10 years of marriage,

Opening up on the Thursday, June 18, episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie, 46, detailed the argument that led to her and Jelly Roll, 41, calling it quits.

“J and I have never really been good at having disagreements. So, we were the type of couple who never argued. So, he would be holding things in. I would be holding things in, and that’s a recipe for disaster,” Bunnie explained on the podcast. “We always preach you gotta be comfortable having the uncomfortable conversations, and we did that for eight years in. Then the past year and a half, we kind of got away from that because, we’re in a different life right now.”

Bunnie added that a fight they had on Mother’s Day in May was the straw that broke the camel’s back. During the argument, Bunnie said she told him to “file the f***ing divorce papers.”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo‘s divorce comes as a shock to many — but there were clues about their split leading up to the news. The pair got married in 2016 before Jelly Roll became a household name. Amid his rise to stardom, Bunnie supported Jelly Roll as he used his platform to candidly address […]

“On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary,” she explained. “And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the f***ing divorce papers.’”

Bunnie explained she would never threaten divorce unless she meant it.

“In our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times,” she noted. “But, when I say it, it really holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”

She added that despite their split, the pair are looking toward the “future” and remaining “best friends.”

Us Weekly confirmed on June 15 that the musician filed to end his marriage one month prior, submitting a divorce petition in Tennessee on May 18. He was seen at the 2026 CMA Fest in Nashville earlier in June, where he performed on stage without a wedding ring on.

Bunnie, for her part, posed in lingerie on her Instagram Story hours before the divorce news, writing, “She’s getting her sparkle back.” In a separate Story, she shared the quote, “Come here, let me show you what love feels like.”

The former couple, who got married in 2016, were candid about the challenges they faced in their marriage. Before their breakup, Bunnie wrote in her memoir, Stripped Down, that she and Jelly Roll broke up multiple times throughout their relationship.

Bunnie also claimed in her memoir that Jelly Roll was “used to having multiple relationships at the same time with different women.” They initially “both frowned upon monogamy.”

“That’s not to say that we agreed to go f*** whoever we wanted whenever we wanted — to me that’s what an open relationship is, and we aren’t in one. But if a girl wanted to come home with us, we more than likely wouldn’t turn her down,” she wrote. “Now, here comes the part that might surprise you. J has always told me that I can sleep with other men if I want to.”

She continued: “We argued about it many times until I finally just accepted the fact that that’s who he is. I’m not going to try to change him into something he’s not — and I started to agree with him. We both live by the motto that we aren’t each other’s possessions and consider our relationship to be free, not open. Free will. Which means: I’ll give you the world sexually, but don’t f***king lie to me or ever let me be the last to know something.”

Before Stripped Down was released in February, Bunnie spoke exclusively to Us about why she didn’t skip over the rough moments in her marriage.

“I tried to be as real as possible with the situation,” she shared at the time. “I think I might have even toned it down. It’s just really important to be real. My husband is my best friend. I f***ing love that man — and we have been through hell.”

“It’s raw, it’s emotional and it’s a journey,” she added. “I’m so happy for people who have never had to go through anything traumatic in their relationships. But I just feel like my husband and I had to go through that because it’s part of our testimony. It’s a part of what we’ve survived — we choose to be together every day.”

The Battlestar Galactica Episode With A Secret, Sexy Musical Parody

By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Strange New Worlds has been a generally beloved Star Trek show, one that proudly carries the banner of The Original Series. However, the show has taken a few big, creative swings that rubbed fans the wrong way. This includes a musical episode, “Subspace Rhapsody,” that was pretty bad. Many musical fans like myself disliked it because the songs weren’t nearly as good as Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s “Once More, With Feeling.” Others disliked the premise itself, believing that a goofy musical episode didn’t really work for a franchise that has generally (minus the occasional episodes featuring Q, the holodecks, the Ferengi, etc.) taken itself seriously.

A musical episode is the last thing that you’ll get from Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica. Former Star Trek writer Moore designed his series to be the tonal opposite of Trek in almost every way, realistically portraying humanity on the verge of extinction after a genocidal attack from a bunch of killer robots. Accordingly, most Galactica episodes are grim and gritty, but there’s one notable exception: “Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down,” a Season 1 episode that features a surplus of jokes and humorous situations. It also features a Strange New Worlds-esque musical parody: an opera song whose Italian lyrics are all about how sexy Tricia Helfer’s Cylon is!

Secret, Sexy Lyrics

“Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down” is the closest thing that Battlestar Galactica came to making a comedy episode. It still focuses on relatively serious stuff, including the returned Ellen Tigh making her husband’s alcoholism worse and Dr. Baltar’s ongoing work on the Cylon detector. But it’s also an episode where Ellen Tigh rubs her foot on Apollo’s crotch and makes every single social situation she’s in hilariously inappropriate. One thing that isn’t overtly funny is Baltar listening to opera while working in his lab. It’s easy to overlook because it’s such a trope. Intense British guy in space unwinding with opera? Patrick Stewart did it first, pal!

However, Baltar wasn’t listening to any established opera that anyone watching would be familiar with. This is actually an original song from Battlestar Galactica composer Bear McCreary. When the soundtrack came out for Season 1, the liner notes included a translation for the Italian lyrics. As it turns out, the song is very meta: it’s playing while Baltar is in his lab, talking and flirting with the Six Cylon that lives in his mind. Accordingly, the lyrics are about her as well as the bizarre situation Baltar finds himself in.

The lyrics to this custom Battlestar Galactica opera are as follows: “Woe upon your Cylon heart / There’s a toaster in your head/ And it wears high heels / Number Six calls to you / The Cylon Detector beckons / Your girlfriend is a toaster / Woe upon your Cylon heart / Alas, disgrace! Alas, sadness and misery! / The toaster has a pretty dress / Red like its glowing spine / Number Six whispers / By your command.”

Lyrics Explained? By Your Command

Most of the lyrics have a pretty straightforward meaning. Six is one of the Cylons, which the Battlestar Galactica crew has nicknamed “toasters.” The song focuses on how she’s Baltar’s “girlfriend” and how she “wears high heels” and “has a pretty dress,’ a reference to Six’s iconic outfit. Speaking of red, the song mentions the red, glowing spines that Cylons display when having sex. The song also speaks to Baltar’s anxiety that his detector will reveal that he is secretly a Cylon. As for “by your command,” that’s a twofer: it references how Six instructs Baltar and references a line frequently uttered by the Cylons in the original Battlestar Galactica series.

The song is pretty solid, especially if you’re a fan of opera. The lyrics are a little silly, but that’s fine: again, “Tigh Me Up and Tigh Me Down” is the silliest episode of Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica. When making the show, Moore decided to lean in and create a science fiction show that was absolutely nothing like Star Trek. But in a stunning irony (or maybe, as Six says, through the will of the one, true god), Moore ended up doing a cheeky sci-fi musical parody decades before Strange New Worlds did it!

General Hospital Summer Spoilers: Valentin’s Massive Fallout, Jason Return Date Revealed & Cassius Flees!

Published

on

General Hospital Spoilers: Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) - Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) - Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey)

General Hospital fans, we’ve got the latest spoilers covering the rest of June, July, and August on the ABC soap, including Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) facing serious fallout for the sacrifice he makes. Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) return air date and his new attitude. Plus, Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) is going to run, but it may be too late for him.

General Hospital Spoilers: Valentin & Carly’s Summer Romance

So, we’re going to start with what is coming for Valentin and Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright). But be sure to stick around till the very end for Steve Burton’s return air date and what is up with Jason.

So, Valentin told Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) he may never see her again because he’s going to see Z at the WSB. I do wonder if that is actually Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) since she’s back soon and rumor has it she’s WSB.

So this Z person shows up in Port Charles because Carly winds up facing off with them while trying to save Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) from Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and the WSB.

GH Spoilers: Carly Plots against Jack

Also, new GH spoilers say Carly is still aching for payback on Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) this summer. So, looks like Valentin does not wind up in Steinmauer and is still with Carly because Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is looking for Brick’s (Stephen A. Smith) help to break them up. And Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) freaks when she finds out Carly harbored Valentin and let Charlotte see him at her place. And Valentin’s going to ask Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) for help with Lulu after this.

Plus, when Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is back, she may cause problems for Carly and Valentin. Also, Carly has to deal with the disapproval of most of Port Charles over her romance with Valentin once it goes public in the next couple of months. Anna returns with information and a grudge. Turns out she knew Cassius was masquerading as Nathan, but Anna couldn’t warn anybody because she was stuck in that psych hospital. She’s also going to come back with emotional scars from Cullum and Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) torment. And Anna returns ready to kill somebody.

General Hospital: Cullum’s Death and Josslyn’s WSB Connection

Now, we’ve heard a rumor that Cullum is dead during July sweeps, and I think it’d be perfect if it’s Anna that kills him. So, it looks like Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) completes the prototype, and Cullum tries to run with that cold fusion device, but Josslyn intervenes, and there’s bloodshed at Wyndemere. Hopefully, Cullum is going to wind up dead. And reportedly, Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) and Charlotte may be involved.

Josslyn winds up on Z’s radar after helping stop Cullum, but there’s fallout when more people find out the truth about Josslyn being a WSB agent. And as we predicted, Brennan’s going to get closer to someone. They’re trying to protect Jack and he tries to help get the goods to shut Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) down.

General Hospital Spoilers: Willow’s Running Out of Time

Meanwhile, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) can’t keep Drew locked in much longer and is going to face a lot of problems. It comes out that Willow was conspiring with Sidwell and there’s a weird spoiler about Drew and an incident at his and Willow’s house where her floors are ruined. I don’t know if that’s blood or water. We’ll see.

Also, Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) wants Willow out of Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) life and she goes rogue. And as expected, Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) scheme to frame Willow as the other driver blows up on her. And finally, and this is a good thing, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is going to set some boundaries with Willow. Also, looks like Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) lets Willow know that she knows she shot Drew. Alexis, meanwhile, isn’t thrilled with Drew coming out of his locked in state because she’s worried that he may snatch Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) away and reinstate those restraining orders.

General Hospital: Curtis’ Legal Crisis and Younger Generation Drama

And of course, Drew’s daughter, Scout, is aged up to a teenager soon, and she’s going to get a love interest. It looks like she and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) might be paired up. Also, we know Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is in crisis this week, but she and Rocco are back to Port Charles soon, and he feels that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu betrayed him. Danny and Rocco wind up at odds. Plus, Brennan, Dante, and others try and protect Rocco from facing consequences for shooting Cullum.

And speaking of his partner in crime, Sidwell’s back for one final battle with Sonny. It’s going to get violent, and DA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) is in danger along with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) for betraying her bad guy boss. After Sidwell is finally dealt with, Laura is cleaning up messes from his reign of terror and she has to deal with Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) as well.

GH Spoilers: Curtis Faces Tough Decision

All right, now let’s talk about Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and his summer spoilers. He’s facing felony criminal charges and Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) hires a lawyer to initiate a high dollar civil suit. We’ve heard that it might be Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) who is coming back to represent Isaiah. We’ll see.

So, it looks like Curtis is offered a plea deal that includes a modest prison sentence. But if he doesn’t take the deal, he could wind up in prison for years for his violent attack on Isaiah. So, Curtis told Alexis his defense plan was to attack Isaiah and accuse him of being the second driver who left them for dead. But the truth about Brook Lynn and her frame job could ruin Curtis’s defense. Plus, as we know, Isaiah’s innocent.

So, it looks like Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) goes into labor after things get tense when she’s on the stand at Curtis’s trial. We’ll also have his dad, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), back to support Curtis. And there are corporate hijinks that could relate to ELQ or Aurora that affect Michael. This all could tie back to the charges against Curtis, and there’s more Deception drama.

General Hospital: The Younger Set and Britt’s Return

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is done with her parents, but when her sibling is born, she can’t keep avoiding Curtis and Portia. Also, Drew gets out of his locked in state, but that happening hits Kai really hard, and then he and Trina misread something that happens to Drew. And this may tie back to Willow’s floors getting messy.

Speaking of the younger set, Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) saves somebody’s life that people hate. Plus, his girlfriend Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brayden Bruner) is ticked off to find out Josslyn is WSB. And Gio and Trina’s showcase goes really well, and both of them get offers. Gio gets closer to Brook Lynn, but when her lie about Willow comes out, things may backslide between them.

GH Spoilers: Lulu Spencer Absolutely Floored

General Hospital spoilers confirm Cassius’ identity is revealed to Lulu. And since he did some fraud and henchman crimes, Cassius plans to run, but he stops to say goodbye to somebody before ditching Port Charles. And that’s going to cause him trouble. My guess would be it’s James that Cassius drops in on.

Things between Lulu and Charlotte get worse, I’m sure, because of her daughter’s devotion to Valentin. And Charlotte’s going to move out from Lulu’s house. I could see her winding up over with Carly and Valentin, which would aggravate Lulu to no end. But maybe she winds up at Laura’s place instead.

Expect more of Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean Parsons) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) when he comes clean to her about something. Ethan may lean towards Ava, and she’s going to wind up saving Ethan at a critical moment. And soon, Ava’s got issues with Sonny that have her frustrated, and she makes a mysterious alliance.

Somebody from the past has Ethan running and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is going to take down a wanted man. Could be Valentin, could be Sidwell. And he and Molly Lansing (Kristen Vaganos) cope with drama when her career, both in-law and writing, take a turn. In the end, Cody and Molly stick close and their relationship takes a leap forward. I’m hoping that we’re going to see wedding bells.

General Hospital: Britt’s Crisis and Jason’s Return

All right, now let’s talk about Britt. She’s back. She’s facing fallout from working for Cullum and keeping Cassius’s big secret. And her mom, Liesl, is really ticked with her. Britt gets earthshattering news from Lucas and it may be about her health. Plus, Britt has issues with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) at General Hospital. Some past love of Britt resurfaces. I’m hoping it’s Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) versus Jason. And I have heard some Cassadine return rumors.

Also, Anna interrogates Britt once she’s back as police commissioner, which means Britt might face criminal charges even though she was forced to do those dirty deeds. Laura goes to see Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) in Ireland and she could come home with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) but no husband because Jon Lindstrom is over on contract at Beyond the Gates and isn’t going to be coming back.

Now, let’s talk about Jason’s return. Steve Burton’s first air date is July 13th with General Hospital’s 16,000th episode. That’s huge. So, Jason changed while he was in captivity. And it looks like Jason decides to live his life differently after his WSB ordeal. and it’ll affect his son Danny and also Sonny who is trying to reestablish his power base and he’s hoping that Jason and Sonny can cooperate but it could be that Jason walks away from the mob altogether.
