8 Thriller Movies That Are Even Better the Second Time Around
Thriller movies engage and entertain audiences through the use of suspenseful storytelling and unexpected twists. When executed well, these films leave audiences with a genuine “thrill” that lasts long after the credits roll. But the masterpieces of the genre are the films that deliver the same thrill every time you revisit them.
Some of these are films that are so dense and layered that they require multiple rewatches to decode their true meanings; others are movies that may not even seem all that good on first watch, but unfold previously unnoticed intricacies that elevate the experience on second viewing. Without further ado, here’s our handpicked selection of thriller movies that are even better the second time around (and don’t worry, we’ve kept the spoilers to a minimum).
1
‘Fight Club’ (1999)
Directed by David Fincher and adapted from the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club is a psychological thriller that follows a disillusioned white-collar professional suffering an existential crisis that manifests as insomnia, depression, and anxiety. A chance encounter with a soap salesman, Tyler Durden, transforms his life in strange and dangerous ways as the two men create the titular underground club and embrace an intensely nihilistic worldview. Edward Norton stars as the unnamed protagonist and Brad Pitt as Tyler, with Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf, Jared Leto, Zach Greiner, and Holt McCallany in other key roles.
A controversial and polarizing cult classic, Fight Club is a surreal, post-modern thriller that explores philosophical and social themes through a twisted psychological narrative. The film keeps the audience completely entranced throughout its moody, chaotic plot, leading up to a genuinely shocking twist that upends your entire understanding of its story. However, as amazing as that first experience is, it’s only with multiple rewatches that you can fully grasp the deeper meanings and easily missed symbolisms woven into Fight Club’s narrative.
2
‘The Pale Blue Eye’ (2022)
Written and directed by Scott Cooper and adapted from Louis Bayard’s 2006 novel, The Pale Blue Eye is a period mystery thriller that blends historical settings and people with a fictional story. Set in 1830, in and around the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York, the film follows retired detective Augustus Landor (Christian Bale) as he investigates a series of murders that appear to be linked to black magic rituals with the help of a charming if eccentric cadet by the name of Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling). The movie also features Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Timothy Spall, and Robert Duvall in his final film appearance before his death.
A gripping Gothic thriller with an unexpected twist, The Pale Blue Eye initially appears to be an occult story, then transforms in the final act into a very different kind of narrative. While the shift can feel convoluted at first watch, revisiting the film with the twist in mind makes it a much better experience, revealing all the subtle clues and red herrings that the story employs in its earlier half. While the movie may have had mixed reviews, particularly in comparison to the novel, The Pale Blue Eye is still a gorgeously crafted Gothic mystery that’s worth a second watch.
3
‘Mulholland Drive’ (2001)
Written and directed by David Lynch, Mulholland Drive is a surrealist neo-noir mystery thriller set in the magical world of Los Angeles. The film revolves around the bizarre story of aspiring actress Betty (Naomi Watts) and amnesiac accident victim Rita (Laura Harring), following their growing bond through an inexplicable, dreamlike narrative. The movie also features Justin Theroux, Ann Miller, Mark Pellegrino, Robert Forster, and more in supporting roles.
A surreal and chaotic thriller, Mulholland Drive doesn’t rely on any single twist; instead, it constantly subverts the viewer’s expectations by shifting the narrative, setting, and even the characters in unexpected ways. Arguably the most popular example of Lynch’s dream-logic approach to storytelling, the film is an unsettling blend of reality and fantasy that requires more than one watch to take in fully. To be completely honest, even a second watch may not be enough to grasp the uniquely Lynchian narrative and decipher all its hidden layers.
4
‘Oldboy’ (2003)
Directed and co-written by Park Chan-wook and loosely adapted from the Japanese manga by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi, Oldboy is a South Korean action thriller film starring Choi Min-sik as Oh Dae-su, a man who is inexplicably imprisoned for 15 years and then released. Seeking revenge on his mysterious captor, Dae-su finds himself pulled into a complicated conspiracy. The movie also stars Yoo Ji-tae, Kang Hye-jung, Yoon Jin-seo, and Oh Dal-su in supporting roles.
An extremely grim, brutal, and dark revenge movie, Oldboy is a landmark thriller film that’s internationally renowned for its genuinely twisted story and impeccable action, particularly its highly influential fight sequences. Though the movie has inspired multiple remakes, none of those films had the guts to adapt the original’s sickening twist, which genuinely catches the viewer by surprise. And once you know the ending, every subsequent rewatch just makes the whole experience all the more dark and horrifying.
5
‘The Silence of the Lambs’ (1991)
Adapted from the novel by Thomas Harris and directed by Jonathan Demme, The Silence of the Lambs is a psychological horror thriller that follows Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee who is recruited to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist and imprisoned serial killer. Hoping to use his insights to catch another killer, Clarice enters into a game of wits with Lecter, revealing her darkest secrets in exchange for his help. Jodie Foster stars as Clarice and Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, with Scott Glenn, Anthony Heald, Kasi Lemmons, Ted Levine, and more in supporting roles.
The Silence of the Lambs is widely regarded as one of the greatest horror thrillers of all time, and it made history by becoming one of only three films to win all “Big Five” Academy Awards–Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Adapted Screenplay. What really strikes the viewer about the film, whether on the first watch or the second, isn’t the twist or the main investigation; rather, it’s the subtle foreshadowing and detailed performances, particularly Anthony Hopkins’s central performance as the movie’s iconic psychopath. The masterful pacing and cinematography make every rewatch just as enjoyable an experience as the first time you saw the movie.
6
‘The Usual Suspects’ (1995)
Directed by Bryan Singer and written by Christopher McQuarrie, The Usual Suspects is an iconic crime thriller film that begins with a deadly massacre. As the police interrogate petty criminal Roger “Verbal” Kint, one of only two survivors of the incident, they learn the elaborate sequence of events that led to Kint and a group of other criminals falling on the wrong side of a legendary crime boss known as Keyser Söze. The film stars Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Pollak, Chazz Palminteri, and Pete Postlethwaite in lead roles.
The Usual Suspects is easily one of the most masterfully executed examples of the “unreliable narrator” trope, using the inconsistencies of Verbal’s account to create maximum suspense and unexpected twists, right until its final moments. The film’s puzzle is a scintillating experience the first time you watch it, but it’s only on the second watch that you notice all the small details and easily-missed clues that were hiding in plain sight all along.
7
‘The Game’ (1997)
Directed by David Fincher and starring Michael Douglas, The Game is a mystery thriller that follows successful yet lonely San Francisco man Nicholas Van Orton. Haunted by the death of his father, Nicholas dreads his 48th birthday, but on the day, he is visited by his estranged brother (Sean Penn), who gifts him an invitation to join a mysterious game, which soon begins to take over his life. Deborah Kara Unger, James Rebhorn, Peter Donat, and more appear in supporting roles.
Anchored by a stellar Michael Douglas performance, The Game is one of Fincher’s most overlooked ’90s movies, but it’s every bit as thrilling a film as you would expect from the iconic auteur. Though its twist ending has been quite divisive with critics (and retrospectively criticized by Fincher himself), it’s still a startling, unpredictable turn that elicits a lot of shock at the moment. After the fact, however, you may find yourself questioning the twist, which is why it’s best to give the film a second watch, so you can see the subtle mechanisms that move the central character to the right place, time, and state of mind.
8
‘Deathtrap’ (1982)
Directed by Sidney Lumet and based on Ira Levin’s 1978 play, Deathtrap is a black comedy suspense film starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, and Dyan Cannon. Sidney Bruhl (Caine), a famous playwright whose recent plays have all been flops, reveals to his wife, Myra (Cannon), that he has received a promising manuscript from a student (Reeve) and that he’s considering killing the young man so he can claim it as his own. A deadly game of deception ensues where nothing is as it seems. Irene Worth, Henry Jones, and Joe Silver appear in supporting roles.
Despite comparisons to Caine’s 1972 film Sleuth, Deathtrap was generally well-received by most critics, and though it’s not very well-known these days, the film is easily one of the most deviously entertaining films of the ’80s. A highly suspenseful thriller with a very twisted sense of humor, Deathtrap’s now-iconic twist and narrative shift were both quite divisive at the time of its release, but the film is now regarded as a landmark piece of queer cinema history. The reasons why are a huge spoiler, so let’s not get into it; suffice to say, it’s the sort of thing that makes you want to go back and see the whole movie all over again with fresh eyes.

Billie Eilish Reveals ‘Toxic’ Reason Behind Iconic Style
Billie Eilish is opening up about the deeper meaning behind her signature oversized fashion, and it’s more personal than fans might think. The 24-year-old Grammy winner, known for her baggy, unconventional looks, addressed her style choices in a candid interview, revealing they stem from a complicated relationship with her body.

Eilish didn’t hold back while reflecting on her past struggles, admitting her fashion choices were initially rooted in discomfort. “I had a really, really toxic relationship with my body. I had a lot of eating issues. I remember putting on, like, a big shirt and the relief that I felt,” she told ELLE.
Over time, Eilish says her style evolved into something more intentional, tied to her identity and self-expression. She pointed to influences like Harlem fashion figure Bloody Osiris and artists like Missy Elliott and Tyler, The Creator, explaining that her aesthetic is connected to both hip-hop culture and how she views gender.
“At the same time, it was my love for hip-hop culture and wanting to be a man,” she said, before also acknowledging the internalized beliefs that shaped her thinking at the time. “This is the misogyny that we all have within us…which is that I didn’t want to be seen as feminine, and therefore weak. It’s not right. I’ve found a good way of not feeling like that.”
Eilish Says Body Image Struggles Began At Age 11

Long before her signature oversized style became a defining part of her image, Billie Eilish says her relationship with her body started to shift at a young age. Reflecting on her early years, the singer shared that her style wasn’t always rooted in baggy silhouettes.
As a child, she gravitated toward dresses and skirts before a turning point around age 11, when she became fixated on the one-size clothing brand Brandy Melville, a phase that ultimately impacted her self-image. “What’s really interesting is that when I was a little girl, I loved big dresses,” she said last December. “All I wore was fairy dresses and skirts. I never wore pants or shorts when I was a little kid.”
She explained that struggling to fit into the brand’s limited sizing, combined with early physical development and her time in ballet, contributed to the beginning of her body image issues. “But when I got to be about 11, I got obsessed with this brand called Brandy Melville,” she continued. “And they only sold clothes in one size. I was chubbier, and I was obsessed with these clothes, but I’d buy a shirt, and it wouldn’t fit me.”
Billie Eilish Opens Up About Turning To Baggy Clothing For Comfort

Eilish added that this period marked the start of her struggles. “I wasn’t slim,” she shared. “Also, I was in ballet, and that’s this whole world of body problems.”
From there, she began leaning into looser clothing as a way to feel more comfortable and separate her appearance from her identity. “I didn’t want my body to be part of my outfit,” she said. “I wanted my outfit to be my outfit, and my body happens to be inside it.”
Eilish Says Feminine Era Was Her Way Of ‘Proving A Point’

When Billie Eilish embraced a more traditionally feminine look during her “Happier Than Ever” era, it wasn’t random; it was intentional. The Grammy winner explained that the shift was her response to ongoing criticism about her appearance, particularly claims that she “doesn’t look like a girl.” Instead of subtly adjusting her style, she leaned all the way in.
“So of course, classic me, I had to go with the completely extreme version of it,” she said. “I couldn’t just, like, wear a skirt once. I had to completely reverse everything and be this girly girl for a second and have these pink nails, blonde hair, skirts, dresses, button-ups, bras, and lingerie.”
Billie Eilish Reclaims Her Image

For Eilish, the moment was about reclaiming control over how she presents herself and making it clear she can shift between styles on her own terms. “I was just like, ‘F-ck you guys. I can do whatever I want. And then I can go back to what I was doing before, and you guys can eat it.’”

Surreal, Must-See YouTube Film Is Equal Parts Comfort Food And Nightmare Fuel
By Robert Scucci
| Published

If you grew up with cable in your house during the 90s or early aughts, you may remember a very specific, but hard-to-describe feeling. You fall asleep on the couch watching one of your programs (for me it was always Golden Era Simpsons), only to wake up hours later. Both of your arms are asleep from dozing off in an awkward position, and your show is no longer broadcasting.
Instead, you find yourself watching late-night paid programming that probably plays pretty normal when you’re more lucid, but comes off as straight from the uncanny valley because you’re stuck in that strange mental state that can only be experienced when you’re on the verge of sleep paralysis.
The short film Indistinct Chatter – Have You Ever Seen a Cow?, created by YouTuber KrainagrzybowTV, captures this hyperspecific mental state through its stop-motion visuals. The whole thing plays out like a TV left on overnight, as the sleeping subject (you, the viewer) absorbs whatever images show up on screen, creating a sort of alternate reality that makes sense in the moment but becomes increasingly disturbing the more you think about it.
Oddly Soothing, But Also Frightening

Indistinct Chatter is one of those shorts you have to see to believe. It clocks in at just over 30 minutes, and there are a handful of follow-up videos that range anywhere from one to two minutes. The content is all the same in the sense that it’s surreal, occupying that strange liminal space between consciousness and twilight that’s hard to put into words, but something we’ve all experienced before.
The main video in the series follows the life and consciousness of a little boy named Rajinder. He’s seen listening to his radio and watching television before bed, and then he’s whisked into a world full of windows and empty rooms, not unlike what’s seen in The Backrooms. From there, the whole thing becomes a stop-motion fever dream where in-universe advertisements (for products like Good Windows and a canned meat known as Bramble Bor) and television characters overlap not only with each other, but with Rajinder’s thoughts as he drifts in and out of sleep.
A Proper Visual Representation Of The Strangest Feeling

Like I said, if you’ve ever fallen asleep while watching late-night cable during your formative years, Indistinct Chatter feels all too familiar. I could be guessing on the inspiration for its title, but it reads like the kind of closed-caption display used when people are murmuring in the background, letting the viewer know something is happening just beyond the spectrum of what they’re supposed to hear. It’s like watching an episode of Home Improvement, falling asleep, and then imagining you’re in the episode too, but everybody is slightly off while acting like it’s just another wacky adventure filmed in front of a live studio audience.
As the film progresses, Rajinder’s imagination becomes increasingly unhinged as he befriends a sentient cabbage creature named Fungela, who is also featured in advertisements and becomes increasingly aggressive as he continues to play with her. By the time the whole thing wraps up, you will feel like a changed person. Not because it’s terrifying at face value, but because you’ll feel seen, as if somebody finally found a way to visually represent that weird, fleeting state of consciousness we all experience at one point or another, but struggle to put into words.

If you like surreal dreamscapes and sitcom allusions, and miss those weird blocks of late-night infomercials, Indistinct Chatter is well worth a watch and can be viewed on YouTube.

The Brilliant, Very Adult Space Sci-Fi Killed By Hollywood And Buried By Its Own Name
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

Modern sci-fi owes a lot to the 1967 one-season wonder, The Prisoner, a surreal masterpiece that left the viewer wondering what the hero did to be trapped in such a bizarre seaside village, why he was trapped, and how he’d get out. Referring to its hero as only Number Six, The Prisoner’s influence can be felt in countless other series, but one of the best to pull from it aired on the SyFy channel for three seasons, from 2015 through 2017: Dark Matter.
Six strangers wake up on a spaceship with no memory of who they are or how they got there. They use the order they woke up in for names and start working together to solve the mystery. Unlike The Prisoner, they eventually figure everything out, but once they have all the answers, the questions are changed.
Dark Matter Opens With A Twist

Dark Matter opens up with a dark, beat-up ship as one by one, the six passengers, four men, one woman (The Rookie’s Melissa O’Neil), and a teenage girl, wake up, each with no memory of who they are. On the ship designated Raza, they find a cache of weapons and an android, and learn that the last destination was a mining colony where the workers need protection from the Ferrous Corporation. On any other sci-fi series, this would be a no-brainer, except the first big twist of the series is revealed at the end of the pilot: the passengers are the bad guys.
Learning from the android that all of them are wanted criminals, except for Number Five, puts the recovered cache in a new light. They stole it from the group contracted to help the miners, and it’s up to them to kill the miners. It’s the first of many, many twists that Dark Matter throws at viewers during its three seasons, and as far as even the Season 1 reveals go, it’s fairly tame.

The question remains: who wiped their memories, and why? For as long as that goes unanswered, the crew is left wondering, who can they trust? Who knows more than they are letting on?
The Prisoner Influence Goes Beyond The Pilot
The universe of Dark Matter is small, as far as sci-fi universes go, with the story placing more emphasis on the characters themselves than any universe-shattering conflict. It has that too, but watching the group of bad guys grapple with their past actions, develop into better people, or fail to become better and embrace being the villain of someone else’s story, drives the story forward more than a hunt for a technological MacGuffin.

The Prisoner was significantly smaller in scale, while Dark Matter lets the passengers out into the world, and yet, they can’t escape their past. From the pilot to the final episode, who they were will always define them.
Had the Patrick McGoohan classic series been allowed to continue, that was what was going to come next. Number Six would journey across the world but always remain under close watch, control, and unable to escape his fate as a prisoner.
Dark Matter And Stargate Share The Same Creative DNA

Dark Matter is heavily influenced by another sci-fi series: Stargate. The series was created by Joseph Mallozzi, one of the most prolific writers for the other Star franchise, contributing to SG-1, Atlantis, Universe, and the upcoming Amazon series. If you’ve seen the back half of SG-1, you’ll feel right at home in the world of Dark Matter.
Like Stargate, Dark Matter was also treated unfairly by SyFy, which picked up the series but didn’t develop it, relegating it to the network’s lower-priority original programming in terms of budgets and marketing.

There’s a good chance you haven’t ever watched the series, or even heard about it. Those who have given it a chance, though, have fallen in love with the ragtag crew.
A Sleeper Hit Streaming For Free
Finding Dark Matter is both easy and surprisingly difficult. It’s streaming for free on the CW website, but try to find anything about it, and you’ll wander into the 2024 Apple TV series, Dark Matter.

It’s such a common problem that even the Reddit for the SyFy series has been overtaken by fans of the new series. Like “Redemption” or “Rise of,” it’s time for the words “Dark Matter” to be retired from Hollywood for a few decades.
Once you find it, you’ll enjoy Dark Matter. Yes, there are a lot of plot holes explained away by the memory wipe, but there are also a lot of expertly crafted character development and further twists to the story. For better or for worse, this is the type of sci-fi we always need more of: a crew, a spaceship, and morally dubious missions that may or may not save the day.

Jimmy Kimmel Loses Out Talk Show Guest Amid WHCD Joke
Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night lineup has undergone a sudden change following the terrifying incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner
The scheduled guest for Monday’s show has been replaced after witnessing the shooting.
Meanwhile, Kimmel received heavy criticism from both President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, who slammed the TV host for referring to the First Lady as an “expectant widow” before the incident.

Oz Pearlman is no longer set to appear on Monday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” following a dramatic shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD).
The renowned mentalist was the featured performer at the event when gunfire erupted in the Washington Hilton ballroom on Saturday night.
While host Kimmel had previously announced that Pearlman would join him on the show just two days after the dinner, ABC’s updated guest list revealed that he has been swapped for “Pod Save America” cohost Jon Lovett, per Entertainment Weekly.
However, the episode will still feature “Grown-ish” star Anthony Anderson as originally planned. It is unclear if Kimmel’s comment about the incident played a role in the guest switch-up.
The shooting occurred while Pearlman was performing for a room full of dignitaries, leading to the arrest of 31-year-old Cole Allen. Allen has since been charged with attempting to assassinate the president, among other charges.
The Mentalist’s Trick Was Cut Short By The Chaos

The terrifying events in the ballroom left the night’s featured entertainment in a state of shock, especially as his performance was interrupted at a pivotal moment.
Pearlman, who served as both the entertainer and host for the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, was in the middle of a mentalism trick for the President and First Lady when the shooting began.
According to witnesses and footage from the Hilton, Pearlman was interacting with Donald, Melania, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, presenting them with a sheet of paper just seconds before security intervened.
The Blast reported that the interruption brought the performance to a sudden and unresolved halt, leaving the audience and the participants in suspense as the room descended into panic.
Melania Trump Demands Kimmel’s Removal Over His Monologue

The tension surrounding the event only worsened as political figures began to take aim at how the weekend’s events were handled by the media.
Melania issued a scathing response to Kimmel following a controversial monologue he delivered about her and JD Vance in connection with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. According to The Blast, the First Lady expressed outrage after Kimmel made jokes suggesting she looked like an “expectant widow.”
In a furious social media post, Melania called on ABC to take a stand and remove the comedian from the air, describing his rhetoric as both hateful and corrosive. She argued that Kimmel’s comments were intended to divide the nation rather than provide actual entertainment, stating that his words deepen the “political sickness” within the country.
President Trump Also Called For Kimmel’s Firing

The president similarly slammed Kimmel for his statements about his wife. He took to Truth Social to respond to the viral parody video, specifically addressing the “expectant widow” comment directed at Melania.
Trump characterized the segment as a shocking and sinister display, pointing out that the video falsely made it appear as though the First Lady and their son, Barron, were sitting in the studio audience.
The President’s anger was further fueled by the timing of the broadcast, as he linked Kimmel’s remarks directly to the assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, per The Blast.
Trump concluded his remarks by demanding that Disney and ABC fire Kimmel immediately. He expressed his appreciation for the many supporters who were incensed by the broadcast, using his platform to urge the network to stop enabling what he described as dangerous behavior.

While the President and First Lady characterized Kimmel’s late-night monologue as a dangerous incitement, the host himself is pushing back against the idea that his words were anything more than typical comedy.
During his most recent broadcast, Kimmel addressed the intense controversy surrounding his “expectant widow” remark, which occurred just days before the security crisis involving Cole Tomas Allen.
He used his opening segment to clarify the intent behind the joke while expressing a rare moment of personal sympathy for the ordeal the First Family experienced over the weekend.
Addressing the calls for his firing, Kimmel explained that his description of Melania was “obviously a joke about their age difference” and not a threat to the president’s safety.
The Blast reported that he characterized the comment as a “very light roast,” pointing out the reality that Trump is nearly 80 years old while the First Lady is younger than Kimmel himself.
Despite the tension, Kimmel offered a direct apology for the trauma caused by the shooting, telling Melania he was truly sorry that she and the other attendees had to go through that experience.

Rather than stay in Tennessee after the show, Bow hopped on the road to surprise his baby girl, Shai! He uploaded a video of the moment he pulled up on her at a restaurant. Someone sitting with Shai Moss and her friend filmed as Bow entered the restaurant and walked up to his daughter’s table, whose jaw dropped when she saw her dad! “The look on @_shaimoss face says it all. She thought I was still in Memphis because of tour NOPE! Took my tour bus to Dallas right after the show last night and welp … HERE’S DAD! happy 15th Bday ❤️,” the caption on his video said.
On his Instagram Stories, Bow Wow shared more videos from his time with Shai Moss. He surprised her with two Balenciaga handbags, one in black and the other in white, which she absolutely adored! Bow also gifted her a Louis Vuitton charm bracelet. In one photo of Shai hold her new handbags, the dad joked that his daughter lives in his pockets, keeping him single!

Shai’s birthday dinner was set in a low lighting room and featured a long table decorated with different pink flowers in vases. There was also a custom pink-and-white menu with Shai Moss’ name on it. Male ‘Friends’ Writers Swapped ‘Sexual Fantasies’ About Cast
Friends icon Lisa Kudrow is sharing the darker side of starring on the hit sitcom.
In a recent interview with The Times of London, Kudrow, 62, said that the classic 1990s comedy “captured a kind of innocence that maybe a younger generation has never got to experience,” but it wasn’t all laughter behind the scenes.
“Oh no, there was definitely mean stuff going on behind the scenes,” said Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay in all 10 seasons of Friends, starring alongside Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Scwhimmer, Matt LeBlanc and the late Matthew Perry.
The Emmy winner recalled that the show’s writers’ room was largely dominated by men.
“Don’t forget we were recording in front of a live audience of 400, and if you messed up one of these writers’ lines or it didn’t get the perfect response, they could be like, ‘Can’t the bitch f***ing read? She’s not even trying. She f***ed up my line,’” Kudrow said.
She continued, “And we know that back in the room the guys would be up late discussing their sexual fantasies about Jennifer and Courteney. It was intense.”
“Oh, it could be brutal, but these guys — and it was mostly men in there — were sitting up until 3 a.m. trying to write the show so my attitude was, ‘Say what you like about me behind my back because then it doesn’t matter,’” Kudrow added.

Earlier this month, Kudrow looked back at her time on Friends, revealing that she was often referred to as the “sixth Friend,” claiming her costars’ Hollywood careers took off before hers did.
“Nobody cared about me,” she said of the show’s early success in an interview with the U.K.’s Independent. “There were certain parts of [my talent agency] that just referred to me as ‘the sixth Friend.’”
“There was no vision for me and no expectations about the kind of career I could have,” she said. “There was just, like, ‘Boy, is she lucky she got on that show.’”
Despite being the first Friends cast member to win an Emmy in 1998, Kudrow said she largely booked independent movies until she landed a hit with Analyze This, the 1999 comedy starring Robert De Niro.
“That’s when the agents and business people started circling, wanting to put me in romantic comedies and things,” she said. “I knew that wasn’t gonna work. I’m just not adorable!”
Kudrow also starred in the cult classic movie Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, which was released in 1997. Her other credits since Friends have included HBO’s The Comeback, which is currently airing its third and final season.

Catalina White Turns WWE Past Into Viral Success Story
Catalina White has officially been nominated for Social Media Influencer of the Year at the 2026 XMA Creator Awards, cementing her status as one of the fastest-rising comedic voices in the creator space. The nod comes after a breakout run on Instagram, where White has built a following of nearly 800,000 fans by leaning into a sharp, self-aware sense of humor that’s become her signature. But her path to influencer stardom wasn’t a straight line. It started inside a WWE ring.

Long before the viral skits and comedy reels, Catalina was signed to WWE’s developmental program back in 2008, where she wrestled under the ring name Saylor James. Her time with the company was short, but it kicked off a career in entertainment that would take her through modeling shoots with Maxim, FHM, and Complex before landing her in the creator economy.
Wrestling fans know her name from that chapter, but the audience she’s built on social media knows her for something completely different.
Bringing Comedy To A Space That Doesn’t Always Laugh

What separates Catalina from the pack of influencers in her lane is her commitment to making people laugh. She’s carved out a niche by bringing genuine comedic timing into a corner of the internet that tends to take itself very seriously, and the results speak for themselves.
“I definitely feel like the underdog in this category, and I kind of love that. It makes the nomination even more exciting,” Catalina told us. “I wanted to bring a little humor into a space that people don’t usually associate with comedy, and it’s been amazing to see fans connect with that.”
That connection is exactly what’s fueled her climb. Her comedy skits consistently land with fans because they feel like her, not a brand-safe version filtered through a dozen managers.
Catalina White: The Accidental Influencer

Ask Catalina how she ended up here, and she’ll be the first to tell you it wasn’t part of some five-year plan.
“I honestly never intended to be an influencer. I just didn’t want my cheeky sense of humor to go to waste lol,” she said. “I love making comedy skits and being able to control everything creatively, and social media gave me a platform to do that. The goal was always to make people laugh, and everything else kind of followed.”
That creative control is a big part of the story. In an era where creators are constantly pressured to chase trends, Catalina has stayed true to her own voice, writing, starring in, and producing her own content on her own terms.
From Viral Moments To Industry Recognition

Catalina White’s nomination isn’t just about follower count; it reflects a broader shift in what audiences are responding to online. In a space often dominated by polished aesthetics and curated lifestyles, her content stands out for feeling unfiltered, relatable, and genuinely entertaining.
Her rise highlights how creators who prioritize personality and originality over trends are carving out lasting audiences. Rather than relying on viral formulas, Catalina has built momentum by consistently delivering content that feels authentic to her voice, something that’s increasingly rare in the influencer landscape.
That authenticity has not only helped her grow a loyal fanbase but also positioned her as part of a new wave of creators redefining what success looks like in the digital era.
Miami And The Pink Carpet

The 2026 XMA Creator Awards roll into Miami this May, with the pink-carpet ceremony celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of the adult creator community. The annual event spotlights the creators pushing the space forward through their digital artistry, while highlighting the ever-evolving landscape of the creator world and the global fandom it inspires.
With nearly 800,000 fans in her corner and a comedic voice that’s impossible to ignore, Catalina is a real contender to take home Social Media Influencer of the Year. Fans can head to xma.show/voting to lock in their vote and help her bring the trophy home.
Whether she takes home the trophy or not, one thing is clear: the girl who once stepped into a WWE ring has built a whole new arena on her own, and her fans aren’t going anywhere.

Family Gets Body From Tanzania, Planning Funeral
The body of Ashlee Jenae is back stateside following her death in Tanzania. She died during a birthday trip, shortly after Joe McCann proposed to her. Her family is reportedly planning a funeral service for early next week, according to her father, Harry Robinson.

Father Claims Ashlee Jenae’s Body Was Returned Without Her Belongings
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Harry Robinson revealed the family had received his daughter’s remains last Friday (April 24). Tanzania officials sent the body to New Jersey amid their investigation. However, per Robinson, none of Ashlee Jenae’s personal belongings, including her engagement ring, came with her. As of Monday, the father says he doesn’t know whether her items will be returned and when. Additionally, it’s unclear which other items, aside from her engagement ring, are still in Tanzania or elsewhere. In the meantime, Ashlee’s family is planning a funeral service. It will reportedly take place in New Jersey early next week.
What Happened To Ashlee Jenae In Tanzania?
Ashlee Jenae, real name Ashly Robinson, was a lifestyle influencer based in the U.S. In April, she and Joe McCann traveled to Zanzibar, Tanzania, to celebrate her 31st birthday. They reportedly arrived on April 4, one day before her birthday, per Reuters and booked into a hotel. The day before, Ashlee had posted a video of Joe proposing in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Her last post on Instagram was shared on the day of her birthday and captioned, “Chapter 31 and I’m exactly where I need to be.”
While in Zanzibar, they had reportedly transferred to a second hotel. According to local police, Ashlee and Joe had gotten into a domestic dispute at the second hotel on April 8. The unspecified conflict led to a room separation by hotel staff. Citing police, Reuters reports that Ashlee allegedly “attempted to hand herself using a clothing belt tied inside a wardrobe in Room 25 of the hotel.” A hotel worker reportedly found her in the wardrobe, per NBC10, after using the emergency key. Ashlee had allegedly requested help with a charger but didn’t answer the door, prompting staff to enter the room. She was then taken to a hospital, but died in the hospital on April 9 at around 3 p.m. local time, per Reuters. Police initially suggested the incident was a suicide and the autopsy results haven’t been publicly released.
According to Ashlee Jenae’s father, their family ordered an independent autopsy of her body in the United States. Those results are reportedly still in process. The family previously told TMZ Ashlee did not show any signs of wanting to commit self-harm.
Is Joe McCann A Suspect In The Influencer’s Death?
Despite being Ashlee Jenae’s finacé at the time of her death, Harry Robinson and Ashlee’s mom, Yolanda, previously told TMZ Joe McCann had barely contacted them. Joe allegedly contacted Yolanda 11 hours after Ashlee was found. In that call, he allegedly reassured the mom that everything was okay, despite Ashlee being in the hospital. Then, the 31-year-old died. As of mid-April, that had been the only contact between Joe and his fiancée’s parents. The family released a statement on April 14, calling the incident their worst nightmare. At the time, they were requesting to review surveillance footage from the hotel Ashlee Jenae last stayed at.
To this day, Joe McCann has not been formally charged or accused of wrongdoing in the incident. Instead, it appears he was initially treated as a witness in the investigation. Two weeks ago, per the Guardian, Zanzibar officials withheld Joe’s passport as he cooperated with investigators on the case. No credible reports have confirmed his departure from Tanzania.
