It’s been an exciting year for Adam Driver fans after it was announced that he’s joining the cast of Marvel’s next X-Men movie, but he’s attached to star in a new crime thriller that just got an exciting new look. After starring as Kylo Ren in a series of Star Wars sequel movies, fans were skeptical that Driver would ever return to star in a project under the Disney banner, be it Star Wars or even Marvel. However, he shocked the world by calling in via Zoom at D23 to announce he had been cast as Mister Sinister opposite a host of other stars in Marvel’s X-Men film. The currently untitled movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 5, 2028, and it’s expected to film most of the next year to make its 2028 launch.
However, before Driver suits up as Mister Sinister for Marvel’s X-Men movie, he’s set to reunite with his Marriage Story co-star for a new crime thriller premiering in less than two months. Driver is teaming up once again with Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) for Paper Tiger, which was written and directed by James Gray. This afternoon, Neon officially released the new trailer for Paper Tiger before the film finally hits theaters on November 20. The movie has been on the film festival circuit for a while now, and after being named Official Selection at a few of the biggest festivals in the world, including Cannes and the New York Film Festival, it’s safe to say Paper Tiger is one of the most anticipated films of the year.

As they try to navigate their way through the dangerous world of the Russian mafia, family bonds begin to fray with life-altering consequences.” Paper Tiger will be James Gray’s first movie since 2022, when he worked with Anne Hathaway on Armageddon Time. He’s also famous for teaming up with Brad Pitt on the 2019 space sci-fi movie, Ad Astra.
