Barack Obama Saves The Day At NBA Game
Barack and Michelle recently enjoyed an adorable family outing at an NBA All-Star game, joined by their daughter, Sasha Obama.
The former first couple shared a joint post on Instagram, documenting their lovely courtside moment. In the picture, the couple can be seen sitting and smiling while wearing casual attire.
Meanwhile, Sasha, who sat in the row behind them, peeked her head in between them and also smiled at the camera. In the caption, Michelle wrote, “My favorite teammates on and off the court.”
One of the major highlights of the game came when a loose ball came flying at the former president and his wife, and he immediately caught it before it struck Michelle.

Fans Praise Barack Obama For Courtside Action
A video posted on X captured the moment he saved the day, and he was seen smiling before handing the ball to Devin Booker.
The moment went viral on social media, with many fans commending the former POTUS for stepping in to save the day. One fan wrote, “He’s a protector! I saw how he protected Michelle right there.”
Another fan agreed, writing, “Obama showing he’s still got game. Snagging that loose ball like a pro. Courtside moments don’t get much better than this. Definitely a highlight for fans in the arena.”
One fan brought Donald Trump into the conversation, writing that if it were Trump, he would have let the ball hit him, then he would’ve sued for “10 Billion.”

Meanwhile, another fan also compared the former POTUS to Trump, writing, “It’s crazy that we went from a classy and compassionate leader and first family in the Obamas to the pdf in office now smh.”

What Barack Obama Said About The Racist Video Shared by Donald Trump

The Obamas’ heartfelt courtside moment comes a few days after Barack finally said something about the video Trump shared, which depicted him and his wife as monkeys in the jungle.
Per The Blast, the former president first of all acknowledged a need to “recognize that the majority of the American people find this behaviour deeply troubling.”
He then noted that while the video garnered attention, there are still people who believe in “decency, courtesy,” and kindness.
He further noted that the most surprising part about the incident is that no one seemed to have any “shame” because there’s no longer a sense of decorum or “respect for the office.”

Trump Received Backlash For The Images He Shared

Just as Barack said, many Americans frowned upon the video the president shared. In it, Barack and Michelle’s faces were edited on top of monkeys’ bodies, and they seemed to move around in a jungle.
After the video made the rounds on social media, many Democrats and Republicans condemned Trump for it, as reported by The Blast.
Senator Tim Scott shared a post on social media, noting that he hoped it was fake because it was the “most racist thing” he has seen come out of the White House. Similarly, Senator Pete Ricketts noted that any reasonable person could see the racist undertones of the video and called for the White House to apologize for it.
Despite the backlash, the president maintained his innocence and refused to apologize. Instead, he issued a statement saying that it was from an internet meme that depicted Trump as king of the jungle, and Democrats as characters from “The Lion King.”
Eventually, the video was taken down, and the blunder was blamed on a White House staff member, but there was still no apology from Trump.

Michelle Obama Is Still Switching Up Her Appearance

Amid the controversial video shared by the White House, Michelle has been focusing on other aspects of her life, particularly her fashion choices.
The Blast reported that the former First Lady revealed that she got 10 new piercings in one sitting. While it was a major change to her appearance, her husband didn’t notice it until days later.
Michelle hilariously recalled how it took Barack “a couple of days” to realize the difference. She also revealed that she has always wanted piercings, and she got inspired by young people around her to finally get them.

Jay Manuel ‘Very Open’ To Speaking With Tyra Banks After ‘ANTM’ Fallout
Jay Manuel might still feel the sting from his fallout with Tyra Banks, but the former creative director remains open to moving forward with the iconic supermodel.
In the new Netflix documentary, “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” Manuel opened up about the behind-the-scenes drama that occurred in his relationship with Banks, implying that their feud almost had him blacklisted.
In the documentary, Tyra Banks seemed upset about the state of her and Manuel’s relationship and declined to discuss it with producers, adding that she “should call him” to hash things out. Manuel, however, said that he’s still waiting for the phone to ring.

What Happened Between Jay Manuel And Tyra Banks On ‘America’s Next Top Model’?

According to a report from The Blast, Manuel recalled in episode 3 of “Reality Check” that his bond with Banks soured once he decided he was ready to exit the series after cycle 8 in 2007.
Manuel shared that he had sent Banks an email about leaving the show, but she first ghosted him. “It was probably the longest three days ever,” he said. “And she ultimately wrote back just three words. ‘I am disappointed.’”
Manuel said, “After that email exchange, all communication just stopped. It should’ve been the opportunity to have a heart-to-heart, but that did not happen.”

Did Manuel’s Beef With Tyra Banks Almost Get Him Blacklisted?

Manuel went on to say that he was unable to depart the show when he wanted because the network told him they needed more time to find his replacement.
Manuel admitted he also stayed longer than he wanted out of pure fear of being pushed out of the industry, hinting that he felt his professional status was under threat.
“There was a warning that strikes the fear of God in you,” he said. “You know, people talk about being blacklisted. Those words were not used, but I had suspected that that’s what it would turn into.”

Manuel Said He And Tyra Banks Did Not Communicate With One Another Following Cycle 8

In the docuseries, Manuel shared that he hadn’t communicated with Banks before filming began for cycle 9. While he was nervous about seeing the former Victoria’s Secret model for the first time since their email exchange, Manuel said he was relieved to finally clear the air before moving forward with work.
However, when they arrived on set, Manuel told the cameras that Banks allegedly gave him the cold shoulder. Speaking with PEOPLE, Manuel maintained that statement.
“Tyra chose not to speak with me at all while the cameras were off. When they were on, she’d speak to me,” he said. “After [trying to leave], I did cycle 9, which was … torture for me. I was so broken by the end of that cycle because of the mental torture of what was going on.”

Have Manuel And Banks Spoken About Their Reported Past Feud Yet?

Also in episode 3 of “Reality Check,” Banks declined to speak with producers about her relationship with Manuel, saying she “should call” him directly, and added that he’s a “special man.”
But did that phone call ever happen?
Manuel said no. “I never got that phone call,” he shared, adding that he doesn’t believe he’ll get it in the first place. “She’s got my number,” he said.
Despite the obvious tension, Manuel insisted he holds no “ill will” toward the mother of one and confirmed he is “very open” to a conversation whenever she is ready.
“Tyra and I were close, and when we were in New York shooting, or even in L.A. shooting, she’d be at my house or I’d be at her house, and we would really download,” Manuel said of their previous bond.

“But at the same time, and she knows this to be true, the things that are those really, really trusted important things that she has said to me, I will never repeat. I will forever honor my relationship with her in the past,” he added.
When Can The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Docuseries Be Streamed?

“Reality Check” is now available to stream on Netflix.
Alongside Banks and Manuel, the three-part series brings in former judges Jay Alexander and Nigel Barker to share their perspectives.
Banks’ co-creator and executive producer Ken Mok was also part of the production.
Former contestants, including Whitney Thompson, Giselle Samson, Shannon Stewart, Shandi Sullivan, Dani Evans, and Keenyah Hill, also sat in front of the cameras to share their stories.

General Hospital 2-Week Spoilers Feb 16-27: Lulu Spirals into Panic & Ric Applies Pressure
General Hospital 2-week spoilers for February 16 -27, 2026 divulge that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) panicking and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) pushing.
General Hospital Spoilers Monday, February 16: Drama at Wyndemere and the Axe Range
On Monday, February 16th, we’ve got Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright) catching up with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Looks like they’re at the Brown Dog Bar. Carly is ranting about Ric, and she tells Jason she doesn’t buy it. Even though Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) insists that he and Ric are getting closer and Sonny says Ric doesn’t have an agenda, Carly is skeptical. We’ll find out if she’s right. Obviously, her beef with Ric is totally understandable.
Out at Wyndemere, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) realizes that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) walked up on his phone call. Now the question is how much he heard, but Marco was talking about how he wants rid of Sonny. So Lucas has heard enough between this and what he eavesdropped on earlier, which Pascal (Mark Forget) knows he overheard because he saw him. It’s just too much.
Lucas & Marco Showdown
Lucas wants to leave and he tells Marco, “No more,” and he tries to get away. But then it gets physical with Lucas, and Marco grabs him and tells Lucas he is not going anywhere. The good news is that he does get away from Marco and runs off. He’s going to talk to somebody who can help. You know Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst)] already advised Lucas to move out of Wyndemere, so I’m guessing moving boxes are next.
Also, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is stunned. Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) told her on Friday that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is alive, and we’ll get more of Maxie’s shock and disbelief as the week begins because obviously, this wasn’t on her radar.
Elizabeth and Ric’s Valentine’s Day date is over at the axe range. She was all dressed up for something fancier, but they’re having beer and throwing axes. It’s not terribly romantic, but maybe it’s a good choice in case Liz is skittish about this first date with Ric; maybe he didn’t want to overwhelm her with anything too romantic. Liz wants to know if Ric’s saying she doesn’t know how to have fun. I ship them. I’m excited about this. I hope we get more “Li-Ric.”
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) promises Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) a Valentine’s Day to remember, but are things going to head downhill? Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) seems to have pulled one over on Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). They’re also at the axe range, and she tells him there’s one born every minute—as in a sucker. So, I wonder if Jacinda tramples Michael at the axe range.
Liesl Obrecht’s Bombshell and Tension Between Sonny and Ric on GH
Over at the Metro Court restaurant, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) is all wound up and telling Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) she’s got something to tell her. It could be about the book deal offer or about Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and his issues with her book. That’s why Molly doesn’t have a date with him for Valentine’s Day.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is stunned by Nathan telling her that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) suspects Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) is alive. That went from Friday and it’s going to carry over. Britt, of course, seems very skeptical. Nathan is as well. So neither of them seem to think their dad’s alive. Britt thinks Anna is having a nervous breakdown, and Nathan says if Anna had any proof, she didn’t get it from Faison.
Before they can say anything more, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) rushes in and drops the bombshell on Nathan that Maxie is awake from her coma. Nathan looks like a deer in the headlights—complete and utter shock. Of course, this has everybody wondering because we’re not entirely sure if he is who he says he is.
Britt Takes a Big Risk
Britt risks everything in this conversation she is having with Liesl after Nathan exits. So, this could be about Anna thinking Faison is alive, or it could be about the mess that she’s made of her own life. Britt tells Obrecht she has no idea what she’s asking right now. I really hope she comes clean to her mom and tells Dr. O about Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and all that.
On Tuesday, February 17th, Britt and Jason have a Valentine’s Day run-in this week. We’ll see if it’s Monday or Tuesday. I don’t see a lot of hearts and flowers in their future, though. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) has something to say to Sidwell—maybe about Deception, maybe about Maxie, or maybe about him being out with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Ava Jerome (Maura West).
General Hospital Spoilers: Alexis Shocked by Laura
Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) surprises Alexis. She’s up at Laura’s mayoral office this week. Their talk may be about Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and the cousin loving. We’ll see. Sonny is questioned by Ric. He’s trying to understand Sonny’s motives. Now, this may be about sicking Lucy on Sidwell or what’s going on with Michael in the PCPD investigation.
Lucas is adamant about something, and I believe that is about him moving out of Wyndemere and getting off Spoon Island after being manhandled by Marco. Lucas talks with Carly at the Metro Court, and she may insist he take a room there. She’s not going to want Lucas on Spoon Island or back at Ava’s place. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) admits something to Michael on Tuesday, and it may be about the PCPD investigation into him on General Hospital.

Maxie Returns to Port Charles and Lulu’s Secret Confession on General Hospital
Wednesday, February 18th, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) tells Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) something important. I doubt she’s going to confess what she did to Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison). Although, I don’t think Nina would care if Drew dropped dead; she just doesn’t want Willow to go to jail.
Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) gets some advice from BLQ probably about Maxie and Nathan. I hope that Brook Lynn doesn’t mention that Lulu and Nathan are crushing on each other, but she might. Hopefully not, though. Lulu makes another confession to Laura, and Lulu may tell her mom that Brook Lynn said she’d lose Maxie over the Nathan thing.
Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) tries to encourage Cody. I’m sure it’s to give Molly another chance. Nathan confides in Dante, probably about his anxiety about seeing Maxie after all this time. I don’t think he’s going to tell him about Lulu since, you know, Dante’s her ex-husband. Thursday, February 19th, Willow has big news for Drew, and it may be about Michael.
Or maybe about Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante). Spinelli is there to welcome Maxie home. She’s out of the Boston facility and back in Port Charles. Meanwhile, Ric makes a shocking claim by the end of the week. Alexis takes notice of something, and it could be about Charlotte and Danny, or maybe about Willow. Michael finds himself in the hot seat on Thursday, and I wonder if the cops are going to find the key to Drew’s house on Michael’s key ring by then.
A Special GH Tribute Episode for Luke Spencer and Anthony Geary
Friday, February 20th, is a special standalone episode dedicated to Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). The whole town of Port Charles is going to be remembering the character of Luke and also the actor Anthony Geary, who passed away suddenly in December from complications of a routine surgery.
General Hospital February Sweeps: Maxie and Nathan Face-to-Face
The week of February 23rd through the 27th is the last week of sweeps. It wraps up on the 25th. Maxie is trying to settle back into her life, but a lot has changed. Nathan’s resurrection is huge. I can’t wait to see Maxie and Nathan face to face. Lulu’s conflicted and afraid she’ll lose Maxie if she finds out she and Nathan were crushing.
Willow keeps making Drew miserable. Yay, I’m all for that. Things are going to get more intense at their house. Michael is in a tough spot. The PCPD are going to want to know about that key on his ring. Hopefully, Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Viron Weaver) speaks up and says the keys were in Chase’s hands, which would probably at this point get him fired.
Spinelli is terrified that he’ll lose Maxie. Of course, Spinelli is worried she is going to want to get back with Nathan, but the feelings may not be there anymore on either side. At least not right now. Maxie’s fallen for Spinelli, and Nathan’s smitten with Lulu Spencer. It’s been seven years. We’ll see.
Jacinda and Michael get in deeper. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Carly may realize Wyndemere and Sidwell could be a dead end since Cullum is involved. Cody and Molly have a talk that could get them back on track. Sidwell revels in the competitive attention of Lucy and Ava, at least for now. He may come to regret that later.

From there, he appeared in tv shows and movies such as “Armstrong Circle Theatre,” “Playhouse 90,” “John Brown’s Raid,” and

17 Gwyneth Paltrow-Inspired Sweaters for Effortless Style

When we think of rich-mom style, Gwyneth Paltrow is one celebrity who instantly comes to mind. The Goop founder is certainly no stranger to dressing up, but her everyday fashion includes button-down shirts, tailored trousers and, yes, classic sweaters. Paltrow’s timeless taste has inspired us to refresh our own wardrobes with a knit or two that could easily be found hanging in her closet (but were actually purchased on Amazon).
Paltrow tends to keep her sweaters simple and neutral. Maybe you’ll find a collar or a half-zip detail, but nothing too colorful pops out. That makes getting dressed very easy, allowing anyone to achieve that rich-mom aesthetic, even without spending a ton.
17 Gwyneth Paltrow-Inspired Sweaters
1. Our Favorite: Not too slim, not too relaxed, this classic crewneck sweater is the ideal everyday staple. We appreciate the color options, too, including Paltrow-approved neutrals.
2. Under-$20 Find: You don’t have to spend a lot to get the cashmere look, as seen with this Amazon Essentials sweater. It has soft pleated shoulders that create a slightly puffed sleeve, adding interest to any look.
3. Pretty Polo: Anrabess’ V-neck polo sweater includes an easy collar that adds flair without drawing too much attention. Shoppers swear the lightweight find looks more expensive than its price tag, too.
4. Real Relaxed: For a cozier silhouette that’s easy to tuck, this cashmere-blend sweater is just the right amount of oversized. It was also designed not to pill, so it’ll stand the test of time in your closet.
5. Wonderful Wool: Made of 100% wool, this fitted crewneck sweater is a quality piece worth investing in. Surprisingly, it’s not bulky or too warm, so it’s appropriate to wear year-round.
6. Flower Power: For a discreet pop of fun, PrettyGarden’s relaxed crewneck features a large, embroidered flower offset to one side. Since it’s the same color as the sweater, it blends in, adding a playful twist without feeling obnoxious.
7. Versatile V-Neck: Whether you wear it on its own or layer a shirt underneath, this casual V-neck sweater is a solid basic you’ll reach for time after time. The 19 color options are nice, too!
8. Simple Staple: Not too tight but not too loose, this lightweight crewneck sweater is a longer length, allowing you to tuck it the way you’d like.
9. Ribbed and Roomy: Add a little texture to your everyday outfits with a ribbed half-zip sweater. The relaxed fit ensures it’s cozy to pair with leggings or wide-leg lounge pants.
10. Classic Cable-Knit: A textured cable-knit sweater will never go out of style. And for $20, this 100% cotton option is a no-brainer.
11. Super Soft: You’ve never known comfort like this affordable crewneck that was designed to be soft and plush. Wear it on its own or amp it up with a structured blazer before heading to the office!
12. Pleasing Pattern: This softly patterned sweater might be as “wild” as Paltrow would get with her look. We love the white cuffs and collar, too.
13. Radiant Ruffles: This cute mock-neck sweater will stand out among the others in your closet. The soft ruffles around the neckline and cuffs add a feminine touch.
14. Splurge-Worthy: Now that Everlane is on Amazon, we can invest in high-end pieces, like an alpaca-blend ribbed sweater. It was designed to provide warmth without the bulk.
15. Timeless Turtleneck: This lightweight turtleneck sweater is adorable on its own, but the buttons on the cuffs give it that expensive-looking edge.
16. Buttoned Beauty: PrettyGarden’s classic crewneck sweater gets an extra dose of fun with the buttoned-cuff detailing. We also appreciate the relaxed, not slouchy fit.
17. Must-Have Mock-Neck: With a very soft mock-neck detail, this fitted, lightweight sweater gives off a rich-mom vibe. You can’t go wrong with any of the eight color options, which will easily work into your current wardrobe.

Kids Today Don’t Understand How A Horror Author Transformed Fiction Forever, And It’s Going To Cost Them
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

There’s a war brewing on the internet, and chances are, you’re unaware of it, but fan fiction authors are readying for battle. The latest generation wants to monetize their fan fiction, encouraged by the success of E.L. James with 50 Shades of Grey (originally Twilight fan fiction), Anna Todd’s After series (originally Harry Styles fan fiction), Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones (originally Harry Potter fan fiction), and Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One (not fan fiction, but able to reference every fan property under the Sun).
The older generation of fan fiction writers is trying to warn them that this is a bad idea, and the best example they can cite is Anne Rice’s legal crusade that nearly ended fan fiction, a period so fraught that it changed how fan fiction was written forever. Now the kids are stepping onto legal landmines despite the clear red flags on every fan fiction website.
Anne Rice’s War On Fan Fiction

Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire kicked off a frenzy among fan fiction writers of the 90s following the success of the Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt film, with her brilliant characterizations of Louis and Lestat, who, of course, were often paired up in fan fiction stories. The standard disclaimer before any fan fiction story, that it’s a “non-profit, amateur effort not intended for sale,” wasn’t enough to stave off Anne’s lawyers, who fiercely defended her intellectual property. Webmasters would warn users not to write anything based on Anne Rice’s characters, or the fan fiction author could, and likely would, get sued. What makes it worse for fan fiction authors is that Rice had every right to defend her work this way.
Copyright law can be incredibly tricky and requires copyright holders to actively defend against every infringement, or the courts will treat it as abandoned. Anne Rice took it a little further due to her attachment to her own characters, as she couldn’t imagine anyone else ever writing about Louis, Lestat, Armand, Akasha, etc., and took it personally when fans developed their own stories. The other problem is that if she ended up writing a story that matched a fan fiction, she could be sued for plagiarizing her own characters.
Fan Fiction Exists In A Grey Area

Fan fiction has always existed in a grey area, legally speaking, ever since the Romans filed the names off the Greek pantheon. Dante’s Inferno, the only part of the Divine Comedy that anyone ever reads, is now considered one of the earliest self-insert fan fictions of what else, the Bible. That explains the entire chapter about his local Italian politicians being burned in caskets for all eternity. The biggest defense fan fiction authors have had is that they aren’t profiting off the creations of others. Even fan fiction authors whose works have been widely published and adapted into Hollywood hits have done enough work to turn the fan fiction into a wholly original piece of fiction.
Anne Rice mellowed as she got older and stopped defending her work so vigorously, but other authors, including George R.R. Martin and J.K. Rowling, have occasionally had to sue fan fiction creators. What’s happened now is that 20 years after Rice’s crusade started to fade, new fan fiction authors have begun a push to allow monetization of their works on popular fan fiction platforms, including AO3 (Archive Of Our Own), one of the largest and oldest fan fiction communities. The argument is that they’re telling their own story, so what if the parts are borrowed from someone else? It’s largely their creative work. That argument terrifies the older, more experienced authors, who know that if one person starts monetizing, the entire fan fiction community could come crashing down overnight.
The Push For Monetization

Around the time of the Covid lockdowns fan fiction authors started printing their works and creating physical, bound collections of their stories that some ended up trying to sell. Those quickly resulted in lawsuits for every single cent of profit and penalties for copyright violations, and if an author who sold a collection wasn’t sued, they got lucky and kept quiet.
The current controversy in the fan fiction community will eventually settle down, and hopefully, everyone will realize why the “no monetization” rule is in place before someone has to be made an example of. Fan fiction is a major part of what keeps fandoms alive during lulls and can bring in new fans of the original work. When left on their own, fan fiction authors are among the largest fans of an author and will happily act as guides and cheerleaders for newbies to a fandom. They’ve fought the battles, they’ve been in the trenches, they’ve seen con artists and hacks enter their communities, and they don’t like it. If the new generation doesn’t change course quickly, we may never get another masterpiece like 50 Shades of Grey, and copyright attorneys will be able to start looking at blueprints for their new vacation home.

The Dark Science History Series That Ties Elon Musk’s Rocketry To The Occult
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

The only thing stranger than science fiction is science fact. Dark Matters: Twisted But True, a short-lived documentary series hosted by genre legend John Noble, took this to the extreme in 2011.
Every episode documented the real history behind strange scientific experiments and breakthroughs, from the origins of lobotomies to brain transplant experiments, and even how the origins of the rocket were tied to the Occult. After catching a few episodes, you’ll think that science fiction doesn’t go far enough.
The Occult And Cheating Death Are Only Part Of The Series

Dark Matters: Twisted But True stuck to a formula, an introduction by Noble, historical images, and reenactments combined to tell a twisted story, and then the final wrap-up that was, typically, tragic or horrifying and often, both. The Season 3 finale tells the story of John Parsons and the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), which developed the first rocket engine. In an effort to boost his research, Parsons started taking the teachings of Aleister Crowley very seriously, converting to Thelema and using sex-magic rituals to empower his experiments. It worked until he pushed too far, losing his standing in the academic community, his marriage, and all of his money.
The first episode included a segment on the Philadelphia Experiment, the alleged disappearance of the USS Eldridge, which has served as the basis for movies and even Stranger Things. It’s a tame story compared to another Season 2 episode focused on Dr. Robert Cornish, a researcher in the 1930’s convinced the dead could come back to life, though his human experiments never worked. The lengths men and women of science went to prove a theory or to push the boundaries of human knowledge sound ripped from the pages of a dime-store novel, but they’re true.
John Noble’s gravitas adds to each segment of Dark Matters: Twisted But True; no matter how ridiculous the experiment is or how insane the researcher has become, his soothing yet oddly unsettling tones elevate each reenactment. Once you start watching, you’ll keep going through the entire series in one night. There’s something oddly hypnotizing about the dark science tales you don’t hear about in school.
On The Verge Of Being Lost Forever

With the rise of true crime docuseries in the last decade, it’s clear that there’s a massive audience out there for real stories that aren’t afraid to show how bizarre early science could get. New standards and closely monitored research make it unlikely that there’s anyone out there experimenting with brain transplants or trying to bring back the dead, but for centuries, science was the wild west. There’s no telling how many bizarre stories are out there.
Dark Matters: Twisted But True aired 19 episodes between 2011 and 2012, and currently, only Season 3 is available for digital purchase. It’s a shame that the series is close to becoming lost media, and more of a shame that there have been no new episodes in the last 14 years. Dark Matters: Extra Twisted, a series of remixed episodes with more scenes, more information, and “deeper insights,” was briefly aired on the Science Channel as well, but it has since vanished into the digital aether. If you can find it, the series is a fun binge despite the disturbing content. If nothing else, John Noble’s portrayal of Fringe’s mad scientist Walter Bishop makes a lot more sense when you realize the long, sordid history of insane researchers who’ve shaped our understanding of the universe.

The Best Ever Godzilla Movie Is Now On Netflix
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

As a franchise, Godzilla is in a weird place right now: films like Godzilla vs. Kong have breathed fiery life back into this killer kaiju, but those movies are part of an increasingly complex cinematic universe. Many fans wanted the franchise to get back to basics, and that’s exactly what happened with Godzilla Minus One, a film that combines earnest, emotional storytelling with spectacular visual effects. If you’re ready to check out arguably the best Godzilla film in decades, this Academy Award-winning masterpiece is now available for streaming on Netflix.
The premise of Godzilla Minus One is that a kamikaze pilot survives both World War II and an attack by Godzilla, subsequently eking out a living while managing his survivor’s guilt. However, Godzilla grows stronger and begins attacking Japanese forces, and the country’s military seems helpless to stop the creature’s wrath. The defense of the country and possibly even the world may ultimately come down to one pilot’s quick reflexes, but unless he can get over his death wish, everyone and everything may be completely doomed.
Giving The Fans What They Want

Godzilla Minus One was a refreshing return to formula for the franchise, and fans rewarded the film with plenty of Godzilla’s favorite color: green. Against a budget of $10-$15 million, it earned a kaiju-sized $116 million at the box office. After all this financial success and major awards (more on this soon), a sequel got the green light, and Godzilla Minus Zero should be stomping its way into theaters later this year.
When Godzilla Minus One came out, it made a kaiju-sized impact on film lovers around the world. It had a whopping 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising how the movie balances genuinely compelling scenes of human drama with bombastic scenes of monster-mashing action. This praise is well-deserved, and Godzilla Minus One is the rare action epic where you’ll care about the human characters just as much as you care about everyone’s favorite lethal lizard.
Special Effects That Won an Academy Award

On top of that high critical praise, Godzilla Minus One took home an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. This reward was very well-deserved, as this movie looks incredible: despite its low budget, the film has more breathtaking visuals and majestic imagery than your average Marvel film. To this day, the movie is held up as an example that big budgets are required to create amazing films as long as you have the right script and the right talent in the director’s chair.
When I first saw Godzilla Minus One, I knew the movie only by its kaiju-sized reputation. I have enjoyed various movies in this legendary lizard’s franchise, but deep down, part of me didn’t like that this character had become synonymous with camp. Personally, I regard the original Godzilla as one of the most effective horror movies ever made, one that was never afraid to treat its titular monster like a credible threat to all of humanity.
The Greatest Movie Monster In Hollywood History

To my surprise and great delight, Godzilla Minus One carries on in this tradition, portraying Godzilla himself as more a force of nature than anything else. Much of the film’s story focuses on characters figuring out how to stop the creature, but it’s clear that they might as well be trying to stop a hurricane. The movie portrays Godzilla as an unstoppable force that people are lucky to ever survive, which helps inform the main character’s guilt over surviving an earlier kaiju encounter.
Speaking of him, I was quite impressed at how much I enjoyed our protagonist, who is in the midst of dealing with some serious emotional trauma when he is called to serve his country once more. In my experience, most Godzilla movies are like most Transformers movies: the human characters are just an annoying distraction while we wait for the titular behemoths to show up. But in Godzilla Minus One, I was fully invested in every inch of this very human drama, and I found the resolution to his story to be emotionally moving on a very deep level.
A Monster Movie With Real Human Drama

Godzilla Minus One is, ultimately, a film that simultaneously appeals to both hardcore fans and more casual audiences: longtime lovers of the franchise are sure to enjoy its return to form with a movie that (unlike films such as Godzilla vs. Kong) is grounded in the horrific realism of the first film. Meanwhile, casual audiences can sit back and enjoy this self-contained adventure, one you can appreciate even if you haven’t seen another film in the franchise. Even if you’re a casual moviegoer who doesn’t like creature features, trust me when I tell you the sheer human drama of Godzilla Minus One will move you to tears.
Will you agree that Godzilla Minus One is the ultimate monster mash, or would you rather drop this movie in the midst of an atomic bomb testing site? The only way to find out is to stream it in all its killer kaiju glory for yourself. Afterward, you can join the rest of us in waiting with bated, bluefire breath for the upcoming sequel.

5 Top New Movies and Shows to Watch This Week on Netflix, Prime Video, More (February 16-20)
Just because there’s a three-day holiday weekend because of President’s Day doesn’t mean we’ll be short on new streaming content this week.
In fact, the second week of February brings with it some fantastic new shows and movies hitting platforms like Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video.
This week features a fantastic lineup of streaming debuts like 56 Days and Eternity and returning shows like The Night Agent.
Read on for Watch With Us’ full weekly streaming guide.
‘The Night Agent’ Season 3 — Netflix
The first season of The Night Agent hooked audiences from the get-go, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store in season 3. Season 1 followed FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) as he was thrown into a wide-reaching conspiracy involving a mole embedded within the highest levels of the United States government. To save the country, Peter embarked on a mission to smoke out the mole, while at the same time protecting tech entrepreneur Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), who sought Peter’s aid after the murder of her aunt and uncle — both of whom were agents.
Season 2 saw Peter, now a highly trained Night Agent, taking on a mission in Thailand involving a deadly conspiracy, and according to Netflix, season 3 will follow him as he tracks a rogue treasury agent in Istanbul. If you still aren’t on The Night Agent train, there’s no better time than the present. The espionage thriller is kinetic, stylish and excitingly written; the page-turner version of a television show.
Stream The Night Agent season 3 on Netflix February 19.
‘Urchin’ (2025) — Hulu
Harris Dickinson‘s feature directorial debut stars British actor Frank Dillane as Mike, a young homeless man in London struggling with substance abuse. While a smart and savvy person, Mike seems incapable of escaping his circumstances because of his sheer impulsivity. Trapped in what seems like a never-ending cycle of self-destruction, he manages to find opportunities for second chances, as well as run-ins with the law.
You may recognize Dickinson from such movies as Babygirl, The Iron Claw and Triangle of Sadness, but it looks like the British actor isn’t just your usual “actor looking to direct a film just to feed their ego.” Critics were extremely impressed with the confidence and style of Dickinson’s sensitive, gripping feature film, sporting the type of clear-eyed introspection one might observe from a seasoned professional. The unflinching performance from Dillane was also highly praised, and the collaboration signifies a perfect match-up between actor and artist.
Stream Urchin on Hulu February 17.
’56 Days’ Season 1 — Amazon Prime Video
This erotic thriller series stars Avan Jogia and Dove Cameron as Oliver Kennedy and Ciara Wyse, two young people who meet by chance at the supermarket and quickly enter into an intense relationship. However, when authorities discover a horrifically murdered, unidentifiable corpse 56 days later in Oliver’s apartment, the dark secrets from Oliver and Ciara’s turbulent romance are brought to light.
Based on the novel of the same name by Catherine Ryan Howard, this eight-episode series looks to be the perfect post-Valentine’s Day, anti-romance viewing, and also a gripping psychological thriller that can be binged instantly. Both Jogia and Cameron are recognizable from their roots as child actors on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, and it’s exciting to see them move into more adult fare. 56 Days was developed by creatives behind Prison Break and ER, and we love seeing veteran talent attached to new shows.
Stream 56 Days on Amazon Prime Video on February 18.
‘Eternity’ (2025) — Apple TV

In this unconventional A24 rom-com that takes place in the afterlife, a humorous love triangle emerges between three deceased spirits. After Larry Cutler (Miles Teller) succumbs to death by choking on a pretzel, he arrives in the afterlife as a young man, where his assigned “Afterlife Coordinator” Anna (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) explains that he has to decide where he wants to spend eternity or be banished to the void. Larry decides to wait for his wife Joan (Elizabeth Olsen), who soon passes from terminal cancer, but she arrives as a young woman accompanied by Luke (Callum Turner) — her first husband. Joan finds herself in a strange situation: she must choose which man she wants to spend her death with.
With a clever, charming premise and some refreshing embrace of screwball humor, Eternity is a funny, touching exploration of typical themes of love, life, memory and mortality while giving a fresh spin on the romantic comedy genre. The movie is surprisingly philosophical and showcases some gorgeous production design and cinematography, plus standout performances from Randolph and John Early.
Stream Eternity now on Apple TV.
‘Being Gordon Ramsay’ (2026) — Netflix
Love him, hate him, or a little of both, you can’t deny Gordon Ramsay‘s impact on popular culture. The feared and revered chef from series like Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares offers a behind-the-scenes look at his personal and professional life, as he juggles his family, his impressive career and a launch unlike any other: the opening of five culinary experiences all inside one of London’s tallest buildings. Being Gordon Ramsay takes a look at the man behind the screams, behind the “idiot sandwich,” and reveals the only slightly less abrasive, real human being.
The compelling documentary allows Ramsay to look back on his career as a chef, his status as a media personality and his working-class upbringing, plus an intense period as an apprentice under chef Marco Pierre White. Of course, the documentary is filled with plenty of Ramsay’s trademark cursing and histrionics, but what would he be without them?
