Before Its Apple TV Debut, Brandon Sanderson’s Fantasy Universe Gets Even Bigger
Before Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere reaches television, one of its biggest stories is finding another way to pull fans into its world. Stormlight: War for Roshar, an upcoming board game from Brotherwise Games, arrives at an interesting moment for the fantasy franchise. Apple has already secured the rights to adapt Cosmere, with Mistborn headed to the big screen and The Stormlight Archive planned for television. Those projects remain on the horizon, but Sanderson’s universe isn’t waiting for cameras to start rolling before it grows.
Fantasy franchises no longer live or die by books alone. Readers expect worlds they can revisit through games, role-playing systems, graphic adaptations, and eventually television or film. Stormlight: War for Roshar doesn’t feel like merchandise released to capitalize on future screen adaptations. It demonstrates that Roshar is already expansive enough to support new experiences while preserving the scale that has made The Stormlight Archive one of modern fantasy’s defining series.
‘Stormlight: War for Roshar’ Turns Sanderson’s Massive Battles Into a Strategy Game
Making adaptations of The Stormlight Archive has always been quite a task. Sanderson’s novels are typically more than 1,000 pages long, feature countless characters interacting, and tell the stories of characters navigating large-scale conflicts. With these elements, transforming the story into a board game could easily render the idea of just another fantasy-themed project. Instead, Stormlight: War for Roshar appears determined to capture what makes the series distinct.
Players, on top of controlling armies, step into the roles of central figures such as Dalinar, Kaladin, Raboniel, and Taravangian while balancing diplomacy, territorial control, military campaigns, and shifting alliances. Battles revolve around Roshar’s Oathgates and even incorporate the Highstorm and Everstorm into the game’s structure, tying its mechanics directly to one of the series’ defining features.
Because of its close attention to the source material, the project does not seem like yet another product for its most loyal readers but a new method of experiencing the struggle underlying the novels. All the choices made by the players evoke the political strategies and clashes that are a hallmark of Sanderson’s works. Instead of recreating the known episodes from the novels, the authors of the game have players face the same tough choices that drive the book’s narrative.
The Board Game Shows Cosmere Is Catching People’s Eyes
The timing couldn’t be more revealing. Apple’s adaptation deal signals enormous confidence in Cosmere’s future as a screen franchise, but television audiences won’t be the first to experience Sanderson’s world outside the novels. That’s already happening.
The Stormlight universe has steadily expanded through audiobooks, graphic audio productions, a virtual reality experience, tabletop roleplaying games, and previous board game adaptations. Stormlight: War for Roshar builds on that foundation while arguably becoming the franchise’s most ambitious tabletop project yet.
That progression says something important about Cosmere’s future. Sanderson hasn’t created a single successful fantasy series; he’s built an interconnected universe capable of supporting multiple forms of storytelling. Readers may first arrive through Mistborn or The Way of Kings, but they increasingly have reasons to stay that go beyond waiting for the next novel.
It’s the same strategy that has helped other major fantasy properties remain relevant between releases. Every new format deepens the world rather than replacing the books that inspired it. For longtime fans, that’s another opportunity to spend time in Roshar. For newcomers, it offers an alternative entry point into a universe that can initially seem intimidating due to its sheer size.
Apple’s Adaptation Will Benefit From a Franchise That’s Already Growing
One of the most difficult parts of any fantasy adaptation is to get people to buy into a new world. Cosmere has got the market in terms of books, as Sanderson has sold millions of copies of his works globally; however, reaching audiences who have never read a long book could make or break the story on screen.
They keep the franchise visible between publishing milestones, reinforce the identities of major characters, and remind audiences that Roshar isn’t simply another medieval fantasy setting. Its magical storms, layered political conflicts, distinctive cultures, and evolving alliances give it an identity that stands apart from many of its contemporaries in the genre.
Just as importantly, they reinforce confidence that Cosmere can thrive across different mediums. Apple is inheriting a franchise whose audience has already embraced roleplaying games, tabletop experiences, and other extensions of Sanderson’s world, creating momentum television can build on rather than generate from scratch.
Apple’s Stormlight Archive series will almost certainly become the biggest spotlight Roshar has ever received. Before that happens, though, Stormlight: War for Roshar offers the clearest sign yet that Sanderson’s fantasy universe has outgrown any single medium. The novels remain its foundation, but Cosmere is steadily becoming something larger — a franchise capable of telling stories wherever its audience wants to experience them.

General Hospital 2-Week Spoilers July 27-Aug 7: Tracy Left Reeling & Ethan on the Run!
General Hospital 2-Week Spoilers for July 27 – August 7, 2026 shock as Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is completely stunned by developments at work, at Deception, and also at home on the Quartermaine estate. And also, Ethan Lovett (Christian Howard) is going to flee Port Charles unexpectedly.
Also, in the two weeks of July 27th through August 7th, we’ve got Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) fished out of the lake, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) grilled, and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) trying to get away. We’ve got all that and lots more. So, let’s get right to it.
General Hospital: Ethan’s Surprise and Drew’s Lake Rescue
On Monday, July 27th, Ava Jerome (Maura West) asks Ethan what he’s after. And then Ava winds up making a confession to him. Ethan and Ava have been flirting, looking forward to that romance, but somebody from the past shows up and that’s why Ethan decides to run off.
Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) tells Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) it’s hard not to get excited about the possibility. Maybe it’s about softball. Or it could be about her getting to prosecute the Sidwell case since Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) can’t do it because Sidwell held her hostage.
Carrying over from Friday’s episode, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) reunites with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). She’s all smiles when Jason walks into General Hospital. Britt is really excited that he’s home. Jason tells her that the WSB let him go and Britt didn’t think she was ever going to see Jason again. And then he asked Britt if they can go somewhere and talk and she slaps Jason in the face.
GH Spoilers: Willow Begs Chase for Help
Willow wants Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to tell the PCPD that he couldn’t find her. She is trying to get away, grab her kids. Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) has got it all set up. She needs to do this before Drew exposes her. But since Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) gave up Willow’s name trying to cut a deal, the PCPD has questions about Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). I don’t think Chase is going to let her walk away. I think he is going to insist that Willow has to come to the PCPD because summer spoilers say she must answer for her connections to Sidwell.
Down by the lake, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is screaming Drew’s name after pushing him into the water. Nina’s obviously going to be lying. I’m sure she’s hoping to make it look like an accident and that she’s really worried. She’s got to play the part and look frantic. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), meanwhile, tells Giovanni Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) to grab one more swim before he goes. Kind of strange because he’s in the water all day because Brook Lynn’s son’s a lifeguard, but the GH writers wanted him at the lake to save Drew.
We’ve also got Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) negotiating with Jack over the return of the black box, and he asked Valentin what he wants in return for it. And of course, Valentin wants Jack to have the WSB unfreeze his assets. Also, Nina’s desperate for Jack’s help. I’m guessing after Giovanni saves Drew that Nina’s going to call Jack in a panic to tell him she tried to kill Drew and it didn’t work.
General Hospital: Jason’s Return and Willow’s Unraveling
So, that means that Jack really needs to cut that deal with Valentin. Then on Tuesday, July 28th, we’ve got Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) catching Jason up on what he missed while he was held by the WSB.
He’s over at Carly’s house and she is so thrilled to see Jason. I do wonder how much he’s going to tell Carly and Sonny about what he endured at the hands of the WSB or if he’ll be typical Jason — a few words and just say, “Well, it wasn’t great.”
Willow’s future is on the line on two different fronts. First, she’s got to answer Dante’s questions about Sidwell. And second, Drew didn’t drown and Nina alerts her daughter that he’s now talking. So, they are officially out of time. GH summer spoilers say that Jack contacts Nina with a breakthrough, but it may be too late.
GH Spoilers: Emma Furious & Jacinda Determined
Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is cautious and this could be about what went on by the dock. It could be about Charlotte and Danny. And of course, we know soon Rocco is going to be spending a lot more time with aged up Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski).
Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brayden Bruner) is upset and interrogating Joss and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is there for it, too. So, it looks like Joss has got to explain to Emma the same thing she already told Trina. We’ve got Joss in her black WSB suit and Emma is looking really ticked off at her.
GH spoilers say that Emma’s all worked up when she hears that Joss is an agent. We’ve also got Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) is really confused by Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). And this could be about Willow because GH spoilers say Jacinda gets impatient because Willow still has a place in Michael’s life. He’s playing kind of a long strategy, but Jacinda wants it done now. She decides to take matters into her own hands and Michael may not like what Jacinda does.
General Hospital Spoilers: Serena’s Return and Ethan’s Departure
Then on Wednesday, July 29th, the Quartermaines are shaken when they get news from Gio. So I’m wondering if he tells them Nina was screaming, Drew was in the water, Gio saved his life. I don’t think Tracy will appreciate that Gio saved Drew. And also, Tracy might think the accident wasn’t so much an accident. We also have Ava getting more suspicious and it could be about Ethan.
And Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is thrown on Wednesday. Now, this may be about Jason’s return, but she already knew about that. Or Willow may contact her about the Sidwell legal issues, or Alexis may be hearing about Drew’s near drowning and regaining his mobility and speech.
Summer spoilers confirm that his recovery is bad for Alexis, and no doubt he will want Scout back when Willow was letting her stay over there with her. Also, Alexis is going to let Willow know that she knows she shot Drew. That’s coming up very soon. GH summer spoilers say that she drops the pretense that she’s been keeping about Willow’s guilt.
Plus, Molly gets an update from Alexis and they are both worried. And Michael exerts his power, likely at Deception now that he owns Max’s shares. And I wonder if he’s going to move Jacinda from Crimson over to Deception to represent him.
Trina and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) make some assumptions and they may wonder about Drew’s almost drowning and think that it might not have been an accident.

General Hospital Spoilers: Jason Reconnects with Anna
Then on Thursday, July 30th, Jason reunites with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Now, we know Jason and Anna have both gone through a WSB nightmare recently, so they may bond over their trauma. And Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) draws a line. I suspect that’s going to be with Britt because Tristan has only seen the worst of her.
And Serena Baldwin (Kelly Krueger) comes home to Port Charles on Thursday. Kelly Krueger makes her debut in the role. So, she’s in town to help her surrogate mom, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), fight with this power struggle thing they’ve got going on at Deception.
Tracy’s blindsided, and it may have to do with Serena showing up to support Lucy. And Ethan is in for a shock. And I suspect that he knows Serena and that she’s the reason he is going to scurry out of Port Charles.
Friday, July 31st, we’ve got Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) getting coached by Dante. It is softball season, and Liz and Dante are in their uniforms in the park smiling, but they’re not on the same team.
Sonny summons Jason to see him, and he’s going to tell Sonny about big life changes that he’s decided to make after his WSB ordeal, and he wants to prioritize Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) over everything. It’s about time that he was a good dad.
Brook Lynn defends Danny. Hopefully, nobody’s suggesting he had something to do with Drew winding up in the lake nearly drowning since Danny and Drew’s animosity is well known.
Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) gets huge news from Ethan. I suspect he’s going to tell Lulu he’s leaving town. Anna is gob smacked and this may be about Drew’s accident or something to do with Willow.
General Hospital: Aftermath and Summer Developments
Then the week of August 3rd through the 7th, we’ll see if Jason tells Sonny he’s stepping back from the mob. Liz and Dante spend more time together because of softball, but things are kind of sparking between them and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) doesn’t like this at all.
Nathan Dean finishes his run as Ethan. He’s already been taken off the contract credits. Anna continues to struggle with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and her head, demanding that Anna target Britt. We’ll see fallout with Jason and Britt from his return and her angry attitude, and Serena gets reacclimated to Port Charles, but she’s got some personal issues that are secret at first. We’ll find out more about Drew wanting to rat out Willow and Nina, but Brennan’s leverage may show up in time to stop him.
Valentin’s excited to get his assets back so he can buy back Wyndemere. Lulu’s really going to struggle, but Dante gave her solid advice about how to deal with the Charlotte and Valentin issues. And Molly works on building her case against Sidwell. And I’m curious if Ezra and Willow will both flip on Sidwell.

Fans Concerned After Shia LaBeouf Is Seen Visiting A Dispensary
Shia LaBeouf has resurfaced in Los Angeles as he begins serving two years of probation stemming from a February bar fight. The 40-year-old actor was photographed leaving a dispensary during a solo outing on Friday. The sighting comes shortly after LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor battery charges and was ordered to complete alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes. Shia LaBeouf’s public appearance also follows several major changes in his personal life, including the end of his marriage to Mia Goth and the beginning of a new relationship with Nicole Mumphrey.

LaBeouf appeared solemn while exiting the Los Angeles dispensary a few days ago. The “Transformers” star was carrying a brown paper bag as he left the establishment, although its contents were not identified. The actor was not accompanied by Mumphrey, with whom he celebrated his 40th birthday in Louisiana in June. There is no indication that the dispensary visit violated the terms of LaBeouf’s probation or any court order connected to his recent criminal case.
The images prompted concerned reactions from social media users, several of whom speculated about LaBeouf’s sobriety. However, the contents of his brown paper bag were not identified, and there is no evidence that the visit violated his probation or treatment requirements. “I hope he’s getting himself some help. Drugs won’t help you, buddy. What a waste,” one person wrote, while another simply labeled the actor “Addicted.”
Others reflected on the trajectory of LaBeouf’s career. One commenter wrote, “It’s troubling how he and Amanda Byrnes turned out.” A separate user warned, “I hope he’s not doing it again. If he does.. you won’t know what happened to him until now.”
“Guy was a good actor, real good, not sure what happened to him,” another added. “Dude, you’re supposed to be sober,” another commenter declared, although LaBeouf has not publicly confirmed what he purchased during the outing.
The Actor Pleaded Guilty To Three Battery Charges

LaBeouf entered guilty pleas in June to three misdemeanor battery counts related to a bar brawl that occurred in February. According to PEOPLE, the filmmaker was sentenced to two years of probation. He was also ordered to undergo alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes.
LaBeouf was initially arrested on February 17 and released on his own recognizance. However, a judge later required the actor to post a $100,000 bond after learning of allegations that LaBeouf had used a gay slur during the confrontation. A second charge resulted in an additional $5,000 bond before prosecutors filed a third battery count.
Despite the allegation involving the slur, LaBeouf was ultimately charged with misdemeanor battery rather than a bias-related offense.
Shia LaBeouf’s Attorney Calls It A ‘Minor’ Altercation

Following the guilty plea, LaBeouf’s lawyer, Sarah Chervinsky, characterized the confrontation as a relatively low-level bar fight. “The police and DA investigation proved exactly what Shia LaBeouf said from the beginning, that this was nothing more than a minor Mardi Gras bar tussle,” Chervinsky told the Daily Mail.
The attorney also emphasized that prosecutors did not bring charges related to bias or prejudice. “There is no evidence it was about bias or prejudice, which is why the state only charged these low-level misdemeanors,” she continued.
Chervinsky said the actor accepted responsibility for his conduct and intended to shift his attention toward rebuilding his personal and professional life. “Mr. LaBeouf came to court today wanting to take accountability for his part in what happened, and he has done so,” she added. “Now he’s looking forward to focusing on family, work, and new creative projects.”
The ‘Holes’ Star Has A New Girlfriend

The dispensary outing came approximately one month after LaBeouf celebrated his milestone birthday with Mumphrey in New Orleans. The pair was photographed holding hands as they walked through the city. They have reportedly been linked since the spring. The relationship emerged after LaBeouf separated from Goth, with whom he shares four-year-old daughter Isabel.
LaBeouf and Goth split last year, although the actor has been careful not to share details that he believes also belong to his estranged wife. He subsequently relocated to New Orleans, where he has family roots.
Shia LaBeouf Says He ‘Failed’ His Marriage

During a February appearance on Channel 5, LaBeouf accepted responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage while explaining why he moved to Louisiana.
“It’s not new heartbreak,” he said. “I don’t want to talk too much about it. It’s not my story alone to tell, but my side is I failed my marriage, so I had to own up to that. So that’s why I moved out here.”

Michael Bay’s 5-Season Sci-Fi Series Officially Witnesses “The Netflix Effect” With 1.2 Billion Minutes Watched
Were it not for Netflix, Breaking Bad wouldn’t have become the cultural phenomenon that it did. Several network shows experienced what later came to be known as “the Netflix effect” after becoming available on the streamer. They reached a larger audience, which helped them stay afloat longer than they otherwise would have. The phenomenon was witnessed as recently as last month, when a sci-fi series that originally aired from 2014 to 2018 became available on Netflix in all its five-season glory. It immediately became the streamer’s most-watched acquired series, topping the Nielsen charts with a whopping 1.2 billion minutes watched.
Nielsen’s streaming report is unveiled a month after the fact, and the latest edition covers the week of June 22 to June 28. This was when the new Harlan Coben series, I Will Find You, jumped to over 2.4 billion minutes watched in its second weekend. Starring Sam Worthington and Britt Lower, the show is on the verge of entering the streamer’s all-time top 10 list for English-language series. Meanwhile, Love Island USA delivered its best-ever week on record, with nearly 2 billion minutes watched. The acquired series list, on the other hand, was topped by the sci-fi drama in question, which originally aired on TNT.
The Sci-Fi Series Outperformed Massive Legacy Titles
We’re talking, of course, about The Last Ship. Starring the late Eric Dane, the series was executive-produced by Michael Bay. It followed the crew of a U.S. Navy destroyer that remained unaffected by a pandemic that wiped out most of the Earth’s population. The crew was left with the responsibility of finding a cure. Also featuring Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin, and Charles Parnell, the show’s first and second seasons received 65% and 86% scores on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, respectively.
At around the same time, fellow TNT title Southland, a crime drama that originally aired from 2009 to 2013, was also made available on Netflix. But Southland hasn’t broken out quite like The Last Ship, despite considerably more favorable reviews. According to the latest Nielsen report, The Last Ship outperformed hits such as House of the Dragon, Grey’s Anatomy, and Young Sheldon.

Sara Gilson’s Husband Tried to Keep Minor Quiet Amid Molestation
Influencer Sara Gilson’s husband, Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, allegedly attempted to silence the minor he was accused of molesting by paying her money, according to a protective order petition filed weeks before he reportedly murdered Gilson and killed himself.
Us confirmed on Monday, July 27, that the order was filed against Duffey on June 10, by a mother in Oklahoma who alleged Duffey had inappropriately touched her 15-year-old daughter at basketball practice.
According to the filing, Duffey was accused of “child abuse” after a fellow basketball coach “observed through a window” that Duffey was “kissing and fondling” the minor on June 9 while taking private meetings with each player to ask about their “basketball goals.”
The other coach called the child’s mother, who claimed in the filing that her daughter later “confided” in her that Duffey had been “sending her inappropriate messages” prior to the alleged office incident.
In her petition, the mother further alleged that “once during an out of town tournament, when the whole team including myself were staying at the same hotel, [Duffey] got her [daughter] to come to his room [and] he touched her inappropriately.”
“[The alleged victim] has also said that he has been giving her money to keep her quiet,” the mother claimed in the docs.
The Owasso Police Department (OPD) issued a statement on Monday regarding the sex crime report, confirming that an incident occurred one hour before the parent and juvenile came to Owasso Police Headquarters on June 9 at approximately 8:12 p.m.
“Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a basketball coach, later identified as Jeremiah Shawn Duffey, a coach of a traveling, competitive basketball team, had inappropriately touched a juvenile female member of the team he was coaching, inside the school during an event that evening,” police captain Nick Boatman told Us in a statement.

The statement noted, “Similar conduct by this coach towards this particular juvenile player was reported to have occurred over an extended period of time, in multiple law enforcement jurisdictions, across multiple states prior to this incident.”
Police confirmed that Duffey “fled the scene” after the parent reported the alleged incident to authorities and had “not been seen by Owasso Police since.”
The statement explained that Duffey was a member of the Osage Indian Tribe of Oklahoma and that the reported incident “occurred in Indian Country.”
“This incident was considered a ‘Major Crime’ under the Federal Major Crimes Act (in Indian Country) the report,” authorities added. “Listing the crime of Lewd Molestation of a Minor, was sent to the US Attorney’s Office for review, ending the jurisdiction of the Owasso Police Department over this reported incident.”
Police noted that after Gilson was contacted about Duffey’s alleged sexual misconduct with a minor, she was “provided information” on how to seek an emergency protective order against him, which she filed on June 10. (She was granted the order prior to her death.)
One month later, Gilson shared a video via TikTok — where she had 79,000 followers — claiming Duffey was a “pedophile.”
In the clip, uploaded on July 11, she called Duffey her “soon-to-be ex-husband,” seemingly hinting at the June incident he was being investigated for.
Weeks later, police responded to a reported domestic violence incident at Gilson and Duffey’s home on Thursday, July 23, following a 911 call where dispatchers heard a woman screaming and “what sounded to be a gunshot,” per the department’s statement.
“A few moments later, the E911 Center received another 911 call from a juvenile caller advising his step-father had shot his mother,” police recalled in the statement. “The juvenile caller was calling from a nearby neighbor’s home.”
Once on scene, officers found two deceased individuals who were later identified as Gilson and Duffey. (Gilson, 43, is survived by her two children from a previous relationship.)
“Investigators continue to work this investigation, although they advised it appeared to be a murder/suicide event,” the police said, noting that the investigation is ongoing.

Nickelodeon Star Fumes Over Absurd Residual Check
Former Nickelodeon star Jennifer Hyatt Tedmori was seen crashing out on Instagram after receiving a stack of residual checks from the children’s television network worth shocking amounts. In her series, Tedmori, who appeared in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,” blasted her former employer for paying more to send her payments than what the checks themselves were even worth.
Tedmori, who played Doris Trembley in the Nickelodeon series, recently posted a video to her Instagram showing a stack of residual checks from her time on the early 2000s sitcom.
“It’s that time of the year for me: I got my Ned’s residual checks,” she said in the clip as she sliced open the slew of envelopes. “Some of these could be a penny, some of these could be $5.”
As she opened the first check and recalled filming the episode, she added text on the screen that read, “Crashout incoming,” as she showed her followers that the check was worth $0.02.
“All of two cents. See all of this paper I’m just littering in my car for two f–king cents,” she said. “I know, hard times [and the] economy is s–t, but like two cents? Keep it. Just f–king keep it. I don’t want it.”
This Former Nickelodeon Star Says The Network Should Just Keep The Money Instead Of Sending It To Her
Throughout the video, Tedmori opened more of her residual checks, which featured similar amounts to the one above. She did, however, open a check that was from her time on “90210,” revealing she made around $22.
“Don’t come for me about throwing away a nickel. Y’all had f–king let a nickel get lost in your couch,” Tedmori joked in the video. “Don’t come for me.”
The actress continued, joking that while she understands it’s been over 20 years since she filmed the show, she argued that it costs more to send and mail the checks than she’s actually receiving.
“Now, I get it, it’s been a long time. I’m surprised that I’m getting anything. But three cents? It cost you 75 cents to send this envelope, and the way it’s adding up, the math ain’t f–king mathing,” she said.
Tedmori Isn’t The Only Child Star Receiving Laughable Residual Checks
Tedmori isn’t the only child star receiving measly residual checks. “Full House” star Jodie Sweetin previously revealed that she, too, got a check in the mail for “one cent.”
According to Sweetin, who made the revelation on the “McBride Rewind” show, said that actors aren’t receiving residual money like they used to because the shows have moved to streaming.
“No, there’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that,” she said.
Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the ’90s family series, said that in the past, she would get decent money, but it wasn’t reliable. “You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to run the show,” she said.
“So, sometimes you’re like, ‘Oh, cool. That was nice.’ And then sometimes you’re like, ‘All right, well, there’s a nice dinner out,’” she added.
Another Nickelodeon Star Said She ‘Never Got Paid’ Residuals For Her Work On This Popular Show

Speaking of Nickelodeon stars, Giovonnie Samuels, known for her role in “All That” with Amanda Bynes and Drake Bell, said in a TikTok video that she “never got paid for any residuals” after acting in the sketch comedy show.
“I need y’all to understand that not all child stars are rich,” Samuels, who went on to appear in “Bring It On: All or Nothing” alongside Hayden Panettiere and Solange Knowles, said. “Not all of us are balling. The leads of the cast, they get the big money checks. The supporting cast, like myself, we don’t get that.”
This Late Actor Said His Residuals Were ‘Not Bad’
Matthew Perry, one of the stars of the NBC series “Friends,” previously told Andy Cohen that the residual checks he and his co-stars received were worthwhile.
When the “Watch What Happens Live” host asked him if the residuals were “bountiful,” Perry said they’re “not bad.”
“And they come in form of a text: ‘You just made this.’ And I go, ‘Oh, great,’” he said.

Summer House Star West Wilson Defends Trans Athletes
Days after Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham doubled down on her stance against transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, her podcast costar has taken a different point of view.
“Transgender athletes in American sports is such a borderline non-existent issue,” Summer House alum West Wilson said in a video via TikTok on Saturday, July 25.
Wilson, 31, and Cunningham, 29, are high school friends and host the “Show Me Something” podcast together.
“Right-wingers have convinced a massive portion of people in our country that these people are, like, a threat to sports in America, when mathematically it’s not the case at all,” Wilson said. “And by continuing to platform this — politicians, athletes, journalists, news outlets — you’re only isolating transgender people even more by making them seem like this giant group of people is a threat to society, a threat to sports, when that’s just not proportionately the truth in any capacity.”
He continued, “There’s like 10 transgender athletes in all the NCAA. I think there are unique questions that can be handled on [an] individual basis, but to allow this to take attention away from housing, healthcare, and wars and all the other actual harmful s*** in our country is dumb.”
There are more than 500,000 NCAA student-athletes, spanning the organization’s three divisions. There are, in fact, fewer than 10 transgender people in that group, NCAA president Charlie Baker said during a 2024 congressional hearing.
Cunningham previously weighed in on the issue in a story for ESPN published July 21.
“I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like, ‘I never once said that,’” she said in the story. “I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think, with that, love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
Asked about it the next day at a Fever practice, Cunningham said, “I think it’s kind of common sense. I think I’ll always believe in that. I think it’s really important to protect children.”
In addition to the low number of transgender athletes in sports, there’s also no conclusive evidence that transgender women have a tangible advantage over their cisgender counterparts. A study funded in part by the IOC and published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2024 even found several disadvantages for trans women, including poorer lower-body strength and lung function.
“I think there is room for absolutely everyone here and I think there’s room to love everyone,” Cunningham said. “I truly think when you get people in the same room and have conversations, you have a lot in common with a lot of people. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women and I think there are rights that need to be protected.”

Raven-Symoné & Miranda Maday Show Off Their Modeling Skills
Raven-Symoné and her wife, Miranda Maday, had the opportunity to channel their inner models and DID. Miranda shared the video of them “maxxing” and “mogging” just a few days ago. Since then, fans have flooded the couple’s comment section with a lil’ bit of everything, from compliments to jokes.

Raven-Symoné & Her Wife Show Off Their Modeling Skills
As mentioned, Miranda Maday hit upload on the video with Raven on July 23. Sharing it on Instagram, Maday captioned the post, “We maxxing, we mogging…cool words Gen Z.” It’s unclear when the video was filmed. In it, Rae is rocking a blonde buzzcut hairstyle, but she’s been growing out her starter locs for the last few months. In the clip, Rae and Miranda are wearing ‘fits matching each other’s fly — Rae in a black-and-white suit and her wife in a white dress with black belt straps. The video shows them briefly changing their poses, including when Miranda gently removed Rae’s hand from resting on her neck.
What’s Raven-Symoné Been Up To?
Recently, Raven-Symoné went viral after revealing that another ‘Cheetah Girls’ movie is under production. She will be returning to her role as Galleria, and so, while Adrienne Bailon-Houghton will be Chanel. Additionally, Sabrina Bryan will also make an appearance in ‘The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen’ film. For now, it doesn’t appear that Kiely Williams will be joining her old crew for the role of Aqua. Following news of the reboot film, Williams’ sister hopped online with harsh words for Raven-Symoné and Adrienne. Both women have not responded to the shade. Instead, they gave fans a taste of their vibe on set.

Jon Bon Jovi Returns to MSG With Bruce Springsteen
Jon Bon Jovi had a triumphant return to Madison Square Garden and surprised fans with a special guest.
According to videos shared via social media from the Sunday, July 26, concert in New York City, Bon Jovi, 64, was joined by Bruce Springsteen for two duets.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Bruce Springsteen,” Bon Jovi told the crowd as Springsteen, 76, walked on stage. “The king of the great state of New Jersey. Who says you can’t go home?”
Bon Jovi and Springsteen performed two songs together: the rock band’s song “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” as well as The Boss’ “The Promised Land.”
Not only are Springsteen and Bon Jovi both proud to call New Jersey their home state, but the pair have become close friends over the years. Bon Jovi has spoken highly of Springsteen’s music and cited his work in the E Street Band as his inspiration during the early days of his career.
This show was Bon Jovi’s final performance during his MSG residency. The concert also came three days after Bon Jovi had to abruptly end his Thursday, July 23, show after 90 minutes. After performing his hit “Livin’ on a Prayer,” Bon Jovi shared with the audience he was unable to continue.
“Don’t throw away your ticket stubs. I’m going to figure something out,” he told the crowd. “Just hang onto it. I’m going to figure out how to reschedule.”
Before exiting the stage, Bon Jovi added, “I’m gonna have to cool it for a night. I feel great. I’ll see you again soon. Bye-bye.”
Bon Jovi’s spokesperson told Us later on Thursday that the singer had been suffering from a sinus infection.
“The Bon Jovi concert at Madison Square Garden ended after 90 mins tonight,” the statement read. “Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection, which led to the show’s early ending. As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly.”
While Bon Jovi’s MSG residency has come to the end, the rock star has more performances up his sleeve. Next month, Bon Jovi’s Forever Tour will head to Edinburgh.
Four years ago, Bon Jovi underwent surgery to fix an atrophying vocal cord. While he recovered from the procedure, the Grammy winner was unsure if he would be able to perform live again.
“Although I’m well on the road to recovery and was able to take my time and do a song a day when I made the record, my need, want, desire is to be able to do two-and-a-half hours a night, four nights a week, for months on end,” he said in a March 2024 interview with Boston’s Mix 104.1 radio station. “And so I’m working towards that goal.”

Young and Restless 2-Week Spoilers July 27-Aug 7: Victor Scores Huge Win & Sally Spins Deceit!
Young and the Restless 2-Week Spoilers for July 27 – August 7, 2026 are going to see Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) getting a big win that he absolutely does not deserve, but he gets it anyway. And also, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is desperate to keep a really big lie going.
Also, in the two weeks of July 27th through August 7th, we’ve got Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) coming back, Devon Hamilton Winters (Bryton James) spiraling, and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) having a huge setback in his recovery from addiction. We got all that and tons more. Let’s get into it.
Young and the Restless: Nikki’s Blindness and Adam’s Secret Deal
On Monday, July 27th, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is frustrated. She gives up on the idea of putting on makeup and heads downstairs to tell Victor that she had a bad night. Nikki admits she broke her mirror because she’s so upset. And Victor is sure that Nikki’s sight will return, but she really doesn’t want to get her hopes up. And then she snaps when Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) asks how she is. Nikki’s tired of everybody asking her that same question. And when she tries to storm off, she stumbles and nearly falls, but Victor catches her. Nikki burst into tears, saying she hates this.
We’ve also got Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) facing scrutiny from Victor when he doesn’t buy their story about how they got Newman Media back from Sally. And Victoria is there also skeptical of why Sally would just hand over the company for nothing. Adam claims they intimidated Sally and Chelsea backs up Adam’s story. When Victor and Victoria keep sniping at them, Adam finally loses it and says he’s been nothing but loyal.
And Chelsea insists that Victor should be thanking Adam instead of grilling him. But Victor is suspicious because Adam is so defensive and he rants that nothing is a win unless Victor makes it happen. And then Adam and Chelsea storm out and Victoria tells Victor that she agrees with him something’s going on and she’s going to find out what Adam and Chelsea are hiding. So she heads over to Billy’s place.
Y&R Spoilers: Sally Worries about Billy’s Reaction
Elsewhere, Sally and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) are celebrating their deal with Adam. But Audra worries how Billy is going to react. She thinks Sally needs to tell Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) before he hears it elsewhere. Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) calls Billy about signing his Chancellor contract. He says he’ll send it to Cane soon. Meanwhile, Billy dodges a call from Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).
And then he takes a call from Sally, who tells Billy she made a really big deal and is going to tell him about it in person when she is home soon. Sally tells Audra she’s afraid Billy is going to be angry that she gave the gift that he gave her back to Adam, his greatest enemy.
And before Sally can get there, Victoria shows up to their place and she tells Billy that Sally just gave Newman Media back to Adam and Victoria asks how Billy feels about that. Did it shock him? And he’s quick on his feet. And Billy pretends to Victoria that he already knew about it. But Billy also says he doesn’t work at Spectra-Charles and doesn’t question Sally’s business decisions.
Victoria wants the details of Sally’s deal with Adam. But then Sally walks through the door and Billy says he and Victoria were just discussing Sally’s deal that she cut with Adam. And Sally tells Victoria she and Audra gave Newman Media back because they didn’t want to be at war with Victor. And then Sally lies to Victoria, says she didn’t get any payment for it.
Young and Restless: Romance and Dangerous Setbacks
Victoria leaves and Billy immediately lashes out that he had to hear it from Victoria. And Billy assumes that Adam and Chelsea forced Sally to give the company back. And Billy promises to get it back for her, but Sally says, “No, don’t do that.” Meanwhile, Chelsea and Adam discuss keeping their deal a secret from Victor because it’ll cause problems if he finds out. Adam is really hoping that Sally and Audra keep their promise to stay quiet, keep the lie going.
Chelsea is certain they’ve got Victor and Victoria fooled, but Adam is a little smarter. He’s not so sure. He doesn’t like that Newman Media is still under the Newman umbrella and instead Adam tells Chelsea he’s over all the drama. Adam just wants to work with Chelsea apart from the Newman family stuff and he just wants to spend time with her and Connor.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy Furious & Lily & Cane Heat Up
Then, on Tuesday, July 28th, Nikki feels the walls closing in on her as she continues to struggle and adjust to being blind, at least in the short run. And on Wednesday, July 29th, we’ve got Billy showing up to interrogate Adam. Even though Sally told Billy to leave it alone, of course, he won’t. I’m sure he doesn’t believe Sally that Adam didn’t do her dirty.
And I bet Billy thinks Chelsea and Adam bullied pregnant Sally, and that’s going to have Billy on fire and ready to rumble with Adam. Nikki’s condition takes a surprising turn. It would be incredible if she gets her vision back already, but maybe she’ll start to see light and shadow, which would be a good sign that things are coming back.
Sparks are flying for Cane and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). She invites Cane over to her penthouse pad. He’s smiling and reminding Lily that she made him CEO of Chancellor and now invited him over to her house. So, Cane thinks she’s starting to like him. And I can absolutely see Lily and Cane getting intimate very soon.
Y&R Spoilers: Matt’s a Free Man
Thursday, July 30th, Matt Clark (Roger Howorth) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) make a toast to their future. Also, she’s able to get Matt’s ankle monitor off of him, and Phyllis says, “We did it. Got it off. You’re free as a bird.” So, we’ll see if Matt winds up in Phyllis’s bed after this happens as part of their big celebration. Even with a monitor off, I doubt that Matt is going anywhere.
And Lily sets clear boundaries with Cane. If they do end up in bed together, Lily might make it perfectly clear that having Cane over to her place doesn’t mean they’re officially reunited. I’m sure he’ll take whatever Lily offers him, though, even if it’s scraps.
Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) gets Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) to open up to him. Daniel tells Abby she looks like she could use a friend and asks if she’ll settle for him. And I’m sure this is about Devon’s anger issues, which is actually something Daniel will have a perspective on because he’s had some of those in the past himself.
Young and Restless: Mariah’s Return and Nick’s Relapse
Then on Friday, July 31st, we have got Victor and Nikki, all smiles, and we have Victor and Nikki committing to starting fresh as a married couple. So, it looks like she’s basically back to enabling Victor despite all the horrible things he’s done to her bestie, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Matt tries to make up for what he did to Sienna. I’m interested to see how that’s even possible, especially since Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) doesn’t want him near Sienna. And Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) tells Noah that his dad Nick had a setback.
Could be that he caved and called his old dealer and got some pills. Mariah is back in Genoa City at the end of this week and Sharon’s going to be thrilled to see her daughter, but I am certain that Devon is going to be amped up since Mariah is responsible for his anger issues.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah Helps Devon
Then the week of August 3rd through the 7th, we have got good news for Nikki because Jack’s not going to hold it against Nikki that she reunited with Victor because Jack already was encouraging Nikki to get back with Victor, especially given her new health concerns.
And with Mariah back, I expect Abby is going to appeal to Mariah, tell her what Devon’s been going through, because she’s honestly somebody who could really help him work through these issues. And I’m sure Mariah is going to feel responsible for what Devon’s going through. I’m also wondering if we’ll see Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Aria back in Genoa City as well.
Y&R Spoilers: Nick Heads to Rehab
And we may see Nick desperately needing a trip to rehab soon, especially since he is increasingly worked up about Matt and Phyllis and getting texts from his dealer and then has a setback the prior week. Lily and Cane are in uncharted territory. They might just be casual, but it’s great progress. They’re sizzling.
Nikki’s vision may begin to return soon, and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could make progress in his plot to destroy Victor by using Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) if the DA will work with him. I also suspect we’re going to see Matt and Phyllis getting a lot closer soon, and I doubt that Matt’s going to leave Genoa City.
