LaMelo Ball’s Hummer Needs Extensive Repairs After Crash, Motorsports Owner Says
LaMelo Ball
Hummer Needs Some Fixin’ After Crash
… Will Be As Good As New!
Published
LaMelo Ball‘s custom Hummer is already undergoing repairs after Wednesday’s collision in downtown Charlotte — with the owner of the motorsports company telling TMZ Sports the truck is fixable, but it will take some time!
We spoke to Adam Wolfe of Dreamworks Motorsports, the company behind the custom work on Melo’s 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1, who says they’ve already started getting it back to tip-top shape.
TikTok/@tristan.rosado
The Hummer suffered significant front-end damage in the crash, including the loss of one of its 24×12 DW Forged one-off designed wheels.
Wolfe said he spoke with Ball after the crash and was relieved to hear he was okay … and the damaged truck was sent back to the company’s Roxboro, NC location on Thursday — about three hours from Charlotte.
Wolfe said the Hummer is “fixable” and their collision center has already begun repairs … though the timeline for completing the work is unclear, especially given its fully custom design.
Remember, it’s not some ordinary Hummer out of the factory … Ball’s truck has lots of custom work, from a desert camo 3M wrap, luxurious orange leather interior, and JL Audio 10TW3 subwoofers.
It also features a Hornblasters train horn, custom logos, PPG custom mixed paint, and LED lights inside and under the body.
“It will take a little bit of time,” Wolfe said.
He also noted that the airbags didn’t deploy — a big plus.
Ball walked away from the crash uninjured … and played for his Hornets team Thursday night, their first action back from the All-Star Game.

Eric Dane Announced Memoir About ALS Battle 2 Months Before Death
Eric Dane shared two months before his death that he would be releasing a new memoir.
Maria Shriver’s Penguin Random House publishing imprint, The Open Field, announced in December 2025 that Dane’s book, titled Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, would hit shelves the next year. The project is expected to take a look back at the days of Dane’s life that “have meant the most,” per People.
This will include “when his daughters [Billie Beatrice and Georgia Geraldine] were born, his first day on set on Grey’s Anatomy, the moment he decided to get sober, the day he received his ALS diagnosis, and that hopeful day in the future when ALS is finally cured.”
“I wake up every morning, and I’m immediately reminded that this is real — this illness, this challenge and that’s exactly why I’m writing this book,” Dane said in a statement.
He continued, “I want to capture the moments that shaped me — the beautiful days, the hard ones, the ones I never took for granted — so that if nothing else, people who read it will remember what it means to live with heart. If sharing this helps someone find meaning in their own days, then my story is worth telling.”
Shriver, meanwhile, shared that she was so “honored” to be publishing Dane’s words. She noted that his story was “a courageous one that inspires me deeply.”
“Eric wants to give his daughters and family something to be proud of, and this book will not only make them proud, but it will also help people understand what ALS is and isn’t, what happens to someone when they get it and how we can all be compassionate partners to people suffering with neurological conditions such as this,” Shriver said in a statement.
Two months after the announcement, Us Weekly confirmed that Dane died at age 53.
“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,” his family told Us in a statement. “He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.”
The message continued, “He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”
Dane is survived by his two daughters, whom he shared with estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart. Dane and Gayheart wed in 2004 before separating more than a decade later. She withdrew her divorce petition in March 2025.
The actor later went public with his ALS diagnosis in April 2025. In a statement to People at the time, Dane shared that he was “grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

8 Game-Changing War Shows That Redefined the Genre
The war genre has made a huge impact on the big and small screen. It’s arguably the most revered genre in history ever since the dawn of filmmaking itself. Its influence has extended far and wide, spanning multiple decades and continually evolving with the times. From dominating cinemas to raking in high viewer scores on broadcast television, this shaped our modern entertainment world and will never lose its grip on audiences.
Today, we have entire lists dedicated to the greatest war masterpieces in cinema, and there is simply too much to choose from. And when it comes to television, it’s not like we’re starved of quality entertainment. For decades now, war has been prevalent on TV, from highly acclaimed miniseries to long-running hit shows. Some of them will never be forgotten nor ignored for what they’ve achieved. The following are notable war shows that have had long-lasting impacts on the media. They’re incredibly revered masterworks that capture the raw, visceral experience of watching a war unfold on the small screen. Some are even considered some of the greatest television shows in broadcast history. Here they are now.
1
‘Combat!’ (1962–1967)
Airing on the ABC network from 1962 to 1967, Combat! is a dark, gritty war drama capturing the perspectives and struggles of American Army soldiers in the Second World War. Elevated by the talents of its remarkable scriptwriters, capable directors, and boosted by a famous cast, including Rick Jason and Vic Morrow, it follows the lives of a U.S. army squad in their brutal fight against Germany in the European assault after the success of D-Day. Engaging in countless battles and struggling to maintain their wits and humanity, these men fight alongside each other during the most horrific fighting of this infamous chapter of the war.
Combat! was one of the first drama shows to depict WWII in a realistic fashion, with all its non-glamorous, hard truths included. It doesn’t sugarcoat what this war was truly about and how it deeply affected the brave men who fought in it. There are shocking deaths, intense fighting scenes, and there’s no traditional hero characters like the ones often shown in early WWII films in the cinema. It brings the brutal, desperate struggle for survival that the average foot soldier had to go through during this time period, and it’s still the type of excellent storytelling that’s inspired countless other shows in the years since. It’s a tremendous classic war series that truly pushed for more realism and emotion when depicting these iconic conflicts from history.
2
‘Shaka Zulu’ (1986)
Shaka Zulu is a truly grand and epic miniseries that premiered on the South African Broadcasting Corporation in 1986. An awe-inspiring tale with lavish production values, a significantly high budget, and award-worthy cinematography, this is strikingly beautiful and, despite being regionally made, it looks to have the look and feel of a high-quality Hollywood production. As its title shows, it tells about the rise of the famous Zulu ruler, King Shaka (Henry Cele), from his early days building his small clan into a powerful empire to his eventual assassination in 1829.
It’s a large-scale historical epic that drew worldwide acclaim for its gorgeous look and compelling story. This pushed boundaries, showing that televised war stories can be just as captivating, unique, and visually spectacular as those from cinema. It showed that enough care and effort can make a war story shine bright on the small screen. Despite not being as recognized today as some other war shows mentioned on this list, Shaka Zulu is a must-watch that continues to look timeless and truly inspiring.
3
‘The Pacific’ (2010)
Next is The Pacific, the riveting HBO miniseries that depicts one of the most vicious sides of WWII ever shown on TV. Telling the unique perspectives of three main soldiers, mostly featuring the story of Eugene Sledge (Joseph Mazzello), it shows the absolute chaos and horrors of the war in the Pacific Theater, following these men from the tense jungle fighting on Guadalcanal to the rain-soaked desperate struggle for survival on Okinawa.
This sister series of one of the most compelling war dramas ever released by the HBO network was seen as another masterwork when it came out in 2010, though slightly not as memorable as its predecessors, which will be mentioned further down this list. It’s still a visually splendid, expertly acted, and sharply directed war series that gets better and better with each new rewatch. The Pacific inspired other war shows to reach its level of spectacular production values and complex storytelling. And today, it’s still seen as one of the best WWII shows of all time.
4
‘Generation Kill’ (2008)
2008’s Generation Kill is another pulse-pounding and emotionally charged HBO miniseries. Based on the 2004 book of the same name by author Evan Wright, it recounts his time working as an embedded reporter for the Marine Corps’s 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the early stages of the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. Through several conflicts and constant patrols, the story tells the unique perspectives of the men of this unit and how the war has taken its toll on them.
Generation Kill is a frighteningly accurate and riveting depiction of this recent war in the Middle East. One can see that authenticity and attention to detail are on full display as it tries to remain mostly faithful to Wright’s book, and portrays military tactics and events in a more realistic light. There are a few that could match the level of historical detail that this has, and as such it’s become an inspiration for others to try to be as authentic as possible as well. It’s a gripping seven-part miniseries that demands attention.
5
‘Shōgun’ (2024–Present)
FX’s 2024 war drama series Shōgun is the visually marvelous second TV adaptation of a compelling 1975 novel by famed author James Clavell. Boosted by stellar production values, grand-scale sets, epic battle sequences, period-accurate costumes, and powerful performances, it tells the story of a 17th-century Japanese warlord who aims to expand his reach across the land, but comes into conflict when a shipwrecked Englishman washes up on his shores.
It shattered Emmy Award nomination records in just one debut season, becoming one of the most successful and acclaimed war shows in recent history. It’s jaw-dropping and impressive to look at, and truly, other shows going forward will take note of its massive success. Though still going and fairly recent, FX’s version of Shōgun is already hailed as a masterpiece of primetime television.
6
‘Rome’ (2005–2007)
HBO just keeps churning out some of the most fascinating war shows ever. Next is Rome, the historical drama series which aired for two seasons from 2005 to 2007. Offering a compelling look into an iconic point in human civilization history, it tells the story of ancient Rome in the late BC period during its dramatic transition from a Republic in the dying days of Julius Caesar to a powerful Empire in the time of Augustus.
Each episode is an epic blast of entertainment, featuring powerful stories that talk about these intense moments during Rome’s history. It’s backed by a talented cast, including Ciarán Hinds, Kerry Condon, Kevin McKidd, and the late Ray Stevenson, all of whom excel in bringing these memorable figures to life and making them so fascinating to watch. It’s a masterpiece from start to finish that many other war shows can only hope to reach the level of quality, and it will only get better with age.
7
‘M*A*S*H’ (1972–1983)
Truly, M*A*S*H is one of the most recognizable comedy-drama shows in television history. Its impact on pop culture and broadcasting is legendary and quite inspirational. Airing eleven seasons from 1972 to 1983, audiences laughed and cried as they followed this touching and at times utterly hilarious war series, which is full of iconic moments. Starring Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers, it follows the unique medical staff at a mobile army surgical hospital in South Korea during the Korean War.
Each one of its seasons was absolutely perfect, and entertained viewers with its remarkable storylines and likable characters. It also features plenty of moments that have become immortalized in TV history, like Lt. Col. Blake’s (McLean Stevenson) shocking demise in Season 3 to the legendary finale, “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen,” which pulled in an impressive amount of viewership. It’s an undisputed masterpiece that TV history and the war genre would not have been the same without.
8
‘Band of Brothers’ (2001)
Was there any surprise for this last one? Of course, Band of Brothers is the most influential war show of all time. Hardly any other show can match the impact that this HBO masterpiece has had on the minds of war-lovers everywhere. It’s gripping, iconic, and undeniably perfect with each episode. Based on the best-selling novel by historian Stephen E. Ambrose, the show brings to light a story of unbelievable heroism, following the brave men of Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment from their grueling training in the states to marching into Germany during WWII.
It’s a remarkable story of courage, camaraderie, and determination in the face of so much adversity. Through ten episodes, we easily get to relate to and love these characters on their dangerous missions, and it’s truly breaking to see many of them not make it all the way to the end. Band of Brothers is widely hailed not just as the greatest war show but as one of the most compelling television shows ever created. Its production values, effects, and big budget gave way to how modern shows are created. This truly showed the potential of portraying war on the small screen, and is today an icon that even non-war fans must see.

3 Best Movies To Watch On Netflix This Weekend (Feb 21-22)
The current Netflix top 10 is packed with eye-catching titles, but none are proving particularly dominant. After its arrival on the platform just over a week ago, 2025’s live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie has maintained a strong position near the top. At the time of writing, the most-watched movie on Netflix is Tyler Perry‘s Joe’s College Road Trip, although a resurgence for KPop Demon Hunters and a continued run in the charts for the Jason Statham-led Homefront provide worthy competition. But what else is hidden in the Netflix catalog that deserves its flowers? To help you find a gem or three, here’s a list of movies you should watch on Netflix.

‘Life After Beth’ (2014)
Rotten Tomatoes: 46% | IMDb: 5.7/10
It has now been just over a year since the world lost the enormous talent of Jeff Baena far too soon. In his memory, check out his best collaboration with his wife, Aubrey Plaza. Life After Beth, written and directed by Baena, follows a young man, Zach Orfman (Dane DeHaan), grieving the death of his girlfriend, whose life is turned upside down when she inexplicably rises from the grave. However, she is not how he remembers.
A horror comedy that is as gruesome as it is romantic, Life After Beth blends genres with ease thanks to the detailed eye of Baena. Although it faced poor reviews upon debut in 2014, it has since developed a loving fanbase and, in the wake of Baena’s passing, a reevaluation that sees it for the dark, comedic gem that it is.
2
‘The Iron Claw’ (2023)
Rotten Tomatoes: 89% | IMDb: 7.5/10
With less than a month to go before the 98th Academy Awards, why not check out one of the most egregious snubs of the decade? Starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson as the Von Erich brothers, a group with a beloved legacy in the world of professional wrestling, Sean Durkin’s 2023 biopic The Iron Claw follows their rise to the top of their sport and the mental and personal toll it takes.
The Iron Claw features Efron’s best performance and is supported by White, Dickinson, and more in stellar turns. A tearjerking tale that will leave you stunned, this profound story of family and sacrifice somehow bypassed most awards ceremonies back in 2024. With that in mind, don’t let it bypass you this weekend.
1
‘Wakefield’ (2016)

In one of his many underrated post-Breaking Bad performances, Bryan Cranston stars as the titular successful suburbanite Howard Wakefield in writer/director Robin Swicord‘s 2016 movie, Wakefield. On the edge of madness, Howard decides his best option is to disassociate and cut himself off from the world by hiding in his attic for weeks, leaving him to reflect on his past and the door open for someone else to invade his future.
One of the many undiscovered gems lurking in the Netflix catalog, Wakefield is a drama that won’t be for everyone. Rob Lowe Jokingly Demands Credit For Role in 1995 Film ‘Tommy Boy’
Rob Lowe
Hey, Gimme Some Credit On ‘Tommy Boy’!!!
Published
It’s been over 30 years since “Tommy Boy” hit movie theaters around the country — and Rob Lowe is just now making it known publicly he wants some damn credit!
The actor had an uncredited part as Paul in the 1995 comedy film starring Chris Farley, David Spade, Bo Derek and Brian Dennehy — but Rob says that needs to change — pronto! — in an open letter to Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison.
Waiting for your permission to load the Twitter Tweet.
Rob posted the letter to his X account Thursday night … and, we gotta admit, it all sounds like a joke. Kicking things off, Rob says among the “long-standing, important and unresolved issues” is his lack of credit on “Tommy Boy.”
He then talks about how it’s an “atrocity” perpetrated by a previous regime at Paramount and a stain on the company’s legacy. Rob goes on to say … he and others urge Ellison to “be on the right side of history and rectify this heinous act, with the addition of: “and Rob Lowe as Paul” above title.”
Like we said … it all sounds very tongue and cheek … but maybe Rob has harbored some ill feelings about it over the years and is just now addressing it with comedic bluster.
We’ll have to see where this goes … if anywhere.

10 Most Polarizing Anime Series of All Time, Ranked
Content Warning: The following article contains discussions of abuse and sexual assault. When fans think of anime, big shows such as Dragon Ball usually come to mind first, but despite being incredibly popular, it is bound to have haters because it is so widespread. Anime like One Piece and Dandadan are more loved, but they have aspects ranging from pacing and flanderization to crude and uncomfortable material. Still, despite a good deal of dislike, they are overall widely acclaimed.
However, there are anime series that are much more polarizing than these, with fans split between loving them or hating them. That is why this list will rank the ten most polarizing anime of all time based on the standard deviation of scores, mix of love and hate, controversial elements, and popularity. These ten anime are divisive among the anime community, so do you love or hate these series?
10
‘Devilman Crybaby’ (2018)
There are plenty of dark anime series out there, and while they can be critically acclaimed, their depressing nature often makes them polarizing. Devilman Crybaby follows Akira, a kind-hearted soul who turns into a demon during a sabbath. Despite doing everything he can to use his powers for good, Akira can’t help but get into trouble and attract other dangerous demons.
Devilman Crybaby went through the checklist of dark content and checked them all, from gore to sexual content, taboo themes, and a general mature vibe that didn’t sit well with many viewers. It won the anime of the year award at the Crunchyroll Awards, but its ratings are vastly different. From 10/10s to 5/10s to 1/10s, Devilman Crybaby is justified in any of these ratings depending on fan preferences, but it is still overall critically acclaimed.
9
‘School Days’ (2007)
There are plenty of bad anime, but not many on this list, except for School Days, one of the most notorious anime shows of all time. The main character has a crush on a girl in his school, and when someone learns this, they work together to get him a date. However, what ensues is a weird love triangle that devolves into a murder spree.
School Days isn’t as polarizing as it is just bad or hated, regarded as one of the worst anime shows of all time. The plot is nonsensical, the characters are horribly written and generally just the worst, and the gore and sexual material are unnecessary and gross. However, there are still some fans who enjoyed him, meaning that no matter how bad the reviews are, it is still polarizing.
8
‘Made in Abyss’ (2017–Present)
The last couple of entries on this list were pretty dark, and at first glance, fans might think Made in Abyss is different, but underneath its wholesome exterior is a dark and disturbing anime. A girl and a robot boy travel into the Abyss searching for answers about their mother and history, respectively, encountering horrific creatures and situations the further they go.
Made in Abyss has one of the greatest stories in manga, delivering a dark yet intriguing plot with fascinating worldbuilding. However, for everything good about it, this show has an equally bad aspect, mainly its depiction of the young characters. From the horrific violence they experience to the sexual scenarios, Made in Abyss divides the fanbase with the author’s obvious fetish.
7
‘Aku no Hana’ (2013)
Anime doesn’t try new things as often anymore, unfortunately, because when they do, the results are mixed. Aku no Hana, also known as Flowers of Evil, follows a student after he commits a deed he regrets. Caught in the act, he is blackmailed to fulfill their darkest fantasies, caught in a spiral of traumatic experiences.
Aku no Hana already features a wildly sexual and dark plot, which always splits the audience. However, what made it so polarizing was its rotoscoping animation, which it used extensively. This animation does look weird and uncanny, but it is also visually distinct. Aku no Hana is an artistically ambitious anime, but weird art styles are a recipe for polarizing reviews.
6
‘Beastars’ (2019–2026)
Set in a world where anthropomorphic animals make up society, an uneasy tension resides between the carnivores and herbivores. Beastars follows a humanoid wolf, who tries to lie low after one of his classmates dies. However, his predatory instincts and interest in a unique rabbit create a troubling situation for him and the mysterious death of his classmate.
Whether fans refer to them as anthropomorphic or furries, it is a topic that spurs much debate and leads to many fans not watching certain shows. This general theme has already made Beastars polarizing, but the author’s weird fetishes can also be seen, creating an uncomfortable romance with weird moments.
5
‘Fire Force’ (2019–2026)
Soul Eater is an incredibly popular anime, but the author also made Fire Force, a series that fans can’t seem to agree on. In a world where humans spontaneously combust into demon-like creatures, the firefighters exorcise these monsters. Shinra joins the 8th company to learn more about the mysterious circumstances surrounding his parents’ deaths.
Fire Force is a typical shōnen for the most part, but it has a unique vibe, premise, sound design, and moments that separate it from the rest. However, no matter how good the rest of the show is, there is one character who is always suddenly naked. This instantly shifts the vibe for the worse, ruining any serious or comedic impact that had previously been there. Some fans can look past this, but others can’t, making Fire Force a polarizing show, even if it is one of the best anime series on Crunchyroll right now.
4
‘Monogatari Series’ (2009–Present)
A lot of anime are all about flashy moments and spectacular fights, but the Monogatari Series is different, delivering a dialogue-focused experience. Araragi is a normal human with the abilities of a vampire, which he uses to fight the physical manifestations of his friend’s mental illnesses. It is an endless fight against horrific monsters and depressing situations.
The Monogatari Series is one of the most unique anime shows on this list, becoming critically acclaimed because of its profound and well-written dialogue, distinct editing, and avant-garde style. However, it ruins whatever prestigious writing it had with perverted moments where the protagonist abuses female characters for jokes, some underage. This obviously creates a polarizing anime that fans love or hate.
3
‘Sword Art Online’ (2012–2020)
The Isekai genre is already polarizing because of a mix of unoriginality and weird storytelling, so naturally, there are a few controversial shows, such as Sword Art Online. A bunch of eager players hop into the new VR game, but they don’t realize that they will be stuck in the game. Death in the game means death in real life, prompting players to try to escape.
Sword Art Online quickly became one of the most popular anime series of all time because of its escapist fantasy and fun premise. However, it left what it did well in favor of incestuous moments, odd narrative choices, and generally poor writing. Sword Art Online is a very popular Isekai, but it is also one of the shows with the widest standard deviation, as reviews are never consistent.
2
‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’ (2021–Present)
Yet another Isekai lands on this list, this time being Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. After a stay-at-home loser dies, he is reborn as a child in a fantastical world. Not wanting to waste his new life, he becomes a powerful mage and travels across the world, but he still has plenty of flaws and traumatic experiences in store for him.
Ignoring its controversial aspects for now, Mushoku Tensei does feature some compelling character development and magical worldbuilding. Unfortunately, Rudeus is a controversial protagonist. Some fans justify his actions as flaws he will develop out of, and others can’t get over his disgusting behavior. Mushoku Tensei is the most polarizing modern anime at the moment.
1
‘Fairy Tail’ (2009–Present)
Fairy Tail technically still isn’t over, with a sequel manga currently running, even if fans haven’t heard much about it. The titular wizard guild is home to a plethora of odd characters, such as Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Happy. Together, they take on dangerous missions, all the while a dark force threatens to reemerge.
While Mushoku Tensei is the most polarizing anime right now, Fairy Tail is the most polarizing of all time. A lot of fans have forgotten about it, so the hate has died off, but there was a time when everyone either loved this series or hated it more than anything. Fans have cited the overt fanservice, overuse of the power of friendship, and lack of a plot as criticisms, but others appreciate Fairy Tail‘s great arcs, endearing characters, emotional weight, and sense of adventure. Fairy Tail also used to be massive, sparking hate from other fanbases, resulting in its status as the most polarizing anime of all time.
