Chingy Addresses Isaiah’s Perspective On Their Relationship

On Friday, Chingy exclusively told The Shade Room that he doesn’t believe private family matters should play out publicly, but he still felt compelled to address some of the claims being made. The rapper acknowledged that while he may feel he made an effort as a father, Isaiah can still feel like he needed more from him.

“I can know that I tried while Isaiah can still feel that he needed more from me. Both can be true,” Chingy wrote. “My intentions do not erase his experience, and his pain does not erase the love I have always had for him.”

Chingy Gets Real On Fatherhood, Support, And Reconciliation

Chingy also shared that he contributed more than $200,000 in child support over the years and made efforts to maintain a relationship with Isaiah. However, he acknowledged that financial support isn’t a replacement for a father’s physical or emotional presence.

The rapper says he’s willing to listen, take responsibility for his part and have an honest conversation with his son. Still, Chingy hopes that conversation can happen away from the public eye rather than becoming something played out online or through interviews. Ultimately, Chingy says his love for his son hasn’t changed. “Your father loves you. I always have, and I always will.”

Most of these cinematic gems are pure comedies, but others meld action, drama, and strangeness into the mix. Each one listed here is an immortal entry into the world of movies, and each one is more fun than the next.

‘Clueless’ (1995)

The title says it all. The 90s blessed the cinematic world with several films that were updates on literary classics, but none were as funny and joyous as Clueless, the reimagining of Jane Austen’s Emma. Music video star Alicia Silverstone became a household name overnight as the lead in this colorful, jubilant movie that perfectly encapsulates everything that simply is the 90s (and inspired widespread fashion trends galore).

Cher (Silverstone) is a seemingly vapid, obnoxiously wealthy and popular Beverly Hills high schooler with one thing on her mind: match-making. With the help of her bestie, Dionne (Stacey Dash, who has perfect comedic timing), she sets people up left and right (sometimes for her own personal gain, but ostensibly out of “charity”). When the clumsy transfer student Tai (Brittany Murphy, equally grand) arrives, Cher is determined to find her the perfect match. Naturally, things get a tad complicated when Elton (Jeremy Sisto) falls for Cher instead of Cher’s intended target, Tai. From the clothes to the malapropisms, everything in writer-director Amy Heckerling’s Clueless is smart fun (daring you to mock the title).

‘Speed’ (1994)

There are a host of 90s action movies that are as fun as they are exhilarating, and none of them embody this duality more than director Jan de Bont’s Speed. With its ultra-fun premise and pitch-perfect casting (can you imagine anyone other than 90s dude Keanu Reeves and America’s sweetheart Sandra Bullock in these roles?), this action-comedy-love story hits all the marks.

The concept is brilliant in its simplicity. If the bus that Annie (Bullock) is driving goes below a certain speed, then the whole thing blows up. Barreling through the busy streets of L.A., the bus is a, well, bomb on wheels. With SWAT team member Jack Traven (Reeves) coaching Annie along the way, a beautiful chemistry is born — along with some of the most entertaining action set pieces of the decade. Throw in a ridiculous villain, Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper, who clearly loved being a lunatic), and you’ve got one of the most fun action movies of all time (just let us never, ever speak of the sequel…).

‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’ (1994)

While Jim Carrey may have already been in the cultural zeitgeist with the sundry insane characters that he created for the hit sketch comedy show In Living Color (remember, the Wayans Brothers’ weekly program…where J. Lo was a dancer), he didn’t really make it to the mainstream until director Tom Shadyac‘s Ace Ventura: Pet Detective was released. Here Carrey was allowed the freedom to be as zany and rubber-faced as physics would allow, for an entire feature-length runtime.

Ace is a P.I. that specializes in, you guessed it, pet-related cases. When the mascot for the Miami Dolphins, a porpoise with a real purpose, goes missing, Ace is the obvious guy for the job. Carrey is naturally the driving force behind this film, and his performance is sheer, boldly manifested fun. This wacky movie would truly launch Carrey’s career and spawn an equally hilarious sequel. All-righty-then.

‘Being John Malkovich’ (1999)

While this film is brilliant for its hilariously bizarre premise alone, and sparks all sorts of existential, philosophical, and metaphysical debates, its overall tone is unabashedly a very fun one. What if you could be someone else? That’s the primary query raised in genius screenwriter Charlie Kaufman’s eccentric script, and the answer is boisterously brought to life by the always fun director Spike Jonze in the masterpiece that is Being John Malkovich.

Craig Shwartz (a bespectacled, pony-tailed John Cusack, boldly playing against type here) is a puppeteer who can’t find work (imagine that). His excessively loving wife, Lotte (a frizzy-haired Cameron Diaz, really playing against type), is just trying to support Craig and feed her one hundred pets. Craig begins working at a weird company on the “7 and a half” floor, where he meets his true love interest (and foil), Maxine Lund (Catherine Keener, at her snarky best). Here they discover a portal that leads directly into the psyche of John Malkovich (playing a perfectly droll version of himself). Obviously, this is a wacky plot line, bubbling with uniquely subverted scenarios, but the film as a whole is one of the smartest, funniest of the 90s, which packs in mysterious, ironic fun into every eccentric scene.

‘Happy Gilmore’ (1996)

Current national treasure Adam Sandler was already a movie star (after his memorable SNL run) with his first major movie, Billy Madison (a film, no doubt, that many a Gen X-er and Millennial still quote to this day). This sophomoric classic is, of course, packed to the gills with tremendous amounts of fun sequences and lovably loony characters. However, the viewing public didn’t fully embrace Sandler until director Dennis Dugan’s Happy Gilmore hit the links. This movie is so much fun it should be illegal.

Happy (Sandler, who co-wrote the script) is an “aspiring” professional hockey player; the only caveat is that he can’t really skate. After he hits a fluke golf shot, while attempting to save the home of his grandma (the charming Frances Bay) — a sweet MacGuffin for the ages — Happy realizes that he can make money on the pro golf tour. Sure, whatever. The point is that Sandler is at his furious best here, getting into fights with fans, Bob Barker, and an alligator. The supporting cast of Christopher McDonald (as Shooter), Carl Weathers (as Chubbs), and Julie Bowen (as Virginia) all add to the raunchy fun. All in all, it was even worth the 29 years it took to get a sequel.

‘Wayne’s World’ (1992)

Saturday Night Live has produced hundreds of memorable characters over the decades, with many of them receiving their own feature films. Some succeeded, and others flopped — but there is, hands-down, none as fun as director Penelope Spheeris’s Wayne’s World, one of the most quotable 90s movies out there (and that’s saying a lot).

Wayne Campbell (Mike Meyers, in a tie for his best role ever — the other naturally being the titular character in Austin Powers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey, whose voice simply cannot be removed from one’s head) run a cable access show from Wayne’s basement. For whatever reason, they are handed the opportunity to go big time, as a powerful exec, Benjamin Oliver (Rob Lowe, at his smarmiest), buys them out. The narcissistic Benjamin naturally has ill-intentions, as he wants to steal Wayne’s love interest, the badass bassist Cassandra (the drop-dead gorgeous Tia Carrere). From head-banging to pranking everyone in their path, Wayne and Garth are two of the most iconic characters to emerge from the 90s, and every scene they’re in bursts with unbridled fun.

‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994)

While there were a ton of films that previously incorporated dislocated timelines in cinema history, none resonated with American audiences that much until the arrival of Quentin Tarantino’s big breakout film, Pulp Fiction. The jumping narrative may have been confusing for viewers initially, but mentally putting the timeline into the correct sequence proved to be quite fun indeed for audiences everywhere.

The story is a complex one, with a ton of sub-plots to keep track of, but the basic tale is of a missing suitcase (filled with a mystery material that glows gold) that two hitmen are hired to locate. Of course, the two assassins in question are Vincent Vega (John Travolta, in a role that jump-started his career like no other), and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson, who became one of the most beloved character actors ever with this juicy part). One of the more fun side plots involves a disgruntled boxer, Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis, cool as ever), as he struggles to snag some loot and then evade one of the weirdest basements in film history. The cast features way too many other stellar thespians to name (Uma Thurman, Christopher Walken, and Harvey Keitel, for example), all of whom deliver the goods, and uphold the spirited tone of the movie. While there were quite a few heavy moments in this film (“Zed’s dead, baby, Zed’s dead”), it ultimately is one of the most fun watches in cinema history.

‘The Big Lebowski’ (1998)

Film noir has never been this fun. In fact, noir master writer-directors Ethan Coen and Joel Coen had already made quite a few winners in his genre (Blood Simple, Miller’s Crossing), but no one ever dreamed that a noir could be a laugh-out-loud comedy. Everything about this movie is perfect, from the casting to the soundtrack to the surreal, stylishly choreographed bowling sequences. There may be some deep and dark themes explored in this movie, but no quality in it shines as bright as its commitment to providing the audience with unmitigated fun.

The story revolves around “The Dude” (aka, the Duderino, for one), Jeffrey Lebowski (Jeff Bridges), an unemployed, burn-out bowling enthusiast. His rug, which really tied the room together, is mistakenly stolen from his home by a cadre of washed-up German electro bandmates. This was a misunderstanding, as they were really trying to square up a debt with the “Big” Lebowski, a powerful “philanthropist” living in the posh part of town. Eventually, the latter Lebowski hires The Dude to locate his missing trophy wife, Bunny (Tara Reid). The Dude is aided in his quest by Walter Sobchak (John Goodman, who simply is comedy in this movie) and Donny (Steve Buscemi, also amazing, even though he was out of his element). Eventually, The Dude meets the femme fatale, the artist Maude Lebowski (Juliane Moore, whose acerbic, dry wit is merciless). There is an argument to be made that everyone in this cast delivers career-high performances (certainly the most memorable ones for a lot of them). The Big Lebowski has inspired countless group Halloween costumes, bar trivia nights, and the most quotable quotes in film history. It’s possibly the most fun movie ever, but that’s just like, your opinion, man.

On Friday afternoon, jurors reached a verdict in the murder-for-hire trial of Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk in connection with a deadly shooting near a Los Angeles shopping center. Lil Durk has been found NOT GUILTY on all counts.

The Charges At The Center Of Lil Durk’s Trial

Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, faces five primary federal counts stemming from an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo in August 2022. The charges included conspiracy to commit a violent crime, stalking Rondo using a dangerous weapon, stalking Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab, resulting in his death, using interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

His Courtroom Demeanor Sparked Attention Amid Deliberations

Furthermore, just one day before the reported verdict, Lil Durk’s courtroom behavior had some people wondering what was going on as the jury continued deliberating. According to journalist Michael Blackshire, who appears to be attending the trial, the rapper walked into court smiling on Thursday and exchanged warm interactions with members of his legal team and others in the courtroom.

His attorney, Drew Findling, reportedly patted him on the back and complimentedhis tie. Durk also hugged Brian Steel and Christy O’Connor and shook hands with attorneys representing OTF Dede and David Lindsey before taking his seat. Shortly afterward, Durk reportedly spotted his mother in the audience and smiled at her. She smiled back, creating a brief but seemingly meaningful moment between mother and son as Durk awaited the jury’s decision.

A high school teacher in Louisiana was arrested after he allegedly showed nude photos of himself to a student.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the matter on August 25 after they received reports of alleged inappropriate communication that took place between teacher Demetric A. Preston and an underage student, according to WDAM.

Authorities said the student told school officials that Preston, 28, showed the images during the first week of school.

Detectives seized Preston’s cell phone and gathered statements amid the investigation. Authorities were then able to determine that there was sufficient evidence to arrest him.

It’s not currently clear if Preston has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following his arrest. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to Us’ request for comment regarding the case.

Preston was placed on administrative leave and was removed from the classroom when the investigation first began. The investigation into the allegations against him remains ongoing. It’s not currently clear if police believe Preston shared inappropriate photos with any other underage students.

Following his arrest, the Caddo Parish Public Schools district issued a statement about the situation.

“We understand that incidents like these are deeply concerning for our families and community. Caddo Schools takes our responsibility seriously to provide a safe environment for every student, and any allegation of inappropriate conduct requires immediate attention,” the statement began.

‘Fear Street Trilogy’ (2021)

I will always respect how brazenly Fear Street understood its own assignment. It did not waste time pretending it was above pulp. It knew it was serving slasher blood, teen panic, cursed-town mythology, and chain-reaction storytelling, and then it built the structure with real care. The first film is pure ignition. Shadyside already feels doomed, the killers are already part of local nightmare folklore, and the movie moves with the confidence of something that knows the audience wants immediate threat. But it also plants just enough unresolved poison, the witch story, the town divide, the buried history, the “this is bigger than one massacre” feeling, to make the trilogy engine kick in early.

Then the real structural pleasure starts. Part Two folds backward. It turns campfire legend into embodied memory and suddenly gives the mythology blood and adolescent tragedy instead of just slasher fun. And then Part Three pulls the smartest move of all: it goes back far enough to reveal the original sin, then slams back into the present to settle the debt. That is satisfying trilogy design. Each entry changes the function of the one before it. The first gives you the curse. The second gives you the emotional folklore. The third gives you the mechanism and the release. It is tight, nasty, and way more elegantly built than people gave it credit for.

‘Three Colours Trilogy’ (1993–1994)

This is one of those trilogies that feels like it should be impossible to rank alongside blockbuster architecture, and yet its structure is so beautiful it absolutely belongs here. The miracle is that the films are not sequels in the usual sense. They do not operate through cliffhangers or direct continuation. They operate through moral echo. Blue, White, and Red are separate emotional climates, separate wounds, separate ways of moving through modern life, and still they keep touching each other through theme, coincidence, and the quiet suggestion that human beings are living beside one another inside invisible design.

The reason it feels perfectly structured is that the trilogy keeps widening without bloating. Blue is grief turned inward until freedom starts resembling emotional self-erasure. White flips the temperature completely and gives you humiliation, revenge, and bitter comic reinvention. Then Red somehow makes the whole thing feel spiritually linked, not through lecture, but through mood and encounter and that final astonishing sense of lives crossing inside a larger pattern. It is elegant in a way that almost makes you angry. No wasted expansion. No false crescendo. Just three films deepening the same human questions from different emotional angles until the final cumulative effect sneaks up on you and feels enormous.

‘Before Trilogy’ (1995–2013)

Most trilogies rely on escalation. Bigger stakes. Bigger enemies. Bigger wounds. The Before trilogy does something much riskier. It relies on time itself. Real time. Time as erosion, seduction, pressure, memory, regret, comfort, repetition, intimacy, irritation, and accumulated tenderness. That is such a dangerous way to structure a trilogy, because if the characters do not stay alive to you, or if the writing ever blinks, the whole thing dies immediately. But this trilogy never dies.

The first film, Before Sunrise, gives you possibility in its purest form, the all-night emotional intoxication of meeting someone who seems to rearrange the air around you. The second film, Before Sunset does not go bigger, not louder, just sadder and sharper, because it understands that unfinished connection often gets more powerful in memory than completed love ever could. Then the third film, Before Midnight, does the bravest structural thing imaginable: it refuses to preserve Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Céline (Julie Delpy) in longing amber. It puts them inside the ordinary wars of long love. Resentment, repetition, old sacrifices, sexual frustration, the weaponizing of intimacy, the terror that the person who knows you best also knows exactly where to wound you. That is perfect structure to me. Youthful spark. Midlife ache. Mature collision. Nothing romanticized, nothing betrayed. Heads up: it’s a story of two people walking, and talking, for three films straight, and it’s still brilliant.

‘Back to the Future Trilogy’ (1985–1990)

Back to the Future trilogy is so joyous people sometimes forget how freakishly well-engineered it is. The first movie already feels like a miracle box, every setup paying off, every character trait boomeranging back into plot, every comic beat tightening the causal spring. Then the trilogy makes the insane decision to keep playing with time travel’s structural possibilities instead of shrinking away from them. That was the correct call. The films keep folding family history back onto itself, turning ancestry into character architecture and consequences into play.

What I adore structurally is how each installment changes the relationship between Marty (Michael J. Fox) and the idea of inheritance. In the first, he is trying to preserve his own existence and accidentally discovering his parents as real people. In the second, the trilogy gets nastier and more intricate, showing how one timeline corruption can infect an entire family’s destiny and force Marty to confront the parts of himself, especially pride, that will someday calcify into adult weakness. Then the third gives Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) the emotional center and lets the whole saga exhale into a western-romantic finale that still lands as true closure rather than bonus content. It is one of the few trilogies where fun and precision are inseparable. That is why it holds like steel.

‘The Dark Knight Trilogy’ (2005–2012)

What gives this trilogy its structural strength is that it is not really built as a simple rise-middle-fall superhero arc. It is built as a long argument whether any human can become a superhero or not. Spider-man requires a supernatural spider’s bite. Tony Stark requires Elon Musk-like neuro-cardiac inventions in addition to money. Batman just requires pain that every human goes through, a relentless mind, and a spirit to make a whole lot of money. And anybody can be Batman. The Dark Knight trilogy is about whether Bruce Wayne can ever create a form of justice that does not destroy the man required to sustain it. That is a much richer spine. Batman Begins is origin, yes, but more importantly it is philosophical foundation. Fear, theatricality, corruption, class rot, the usefulness and danger of symbol-making. It is asking what Batman is for before it asks how cool Batman looks.

Then The Dark Knight detonates that foundation by introducing the one force designed to expose the limits of Batman’s whole operating logic. The Joker (Heath Ledger) threatens Gotham and dismantles everything that the city built. He attacks structure itself, legal, moral, psychological, narrative. That is why the second film works as such a brutal middle chapter. It destabilizes the trilogy’s worldview and grounds it in realism. And then The Dark Knight Rises does something people underrate structurally: it makes the third film about physical, political, and spiritual exhaustion. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is older, Gotham is complacent, the symbol has been compromised by its own history, and the ending only works because the first two films built his character so structurally. If the first two films weren’t exactly how they were, and how they forged Bruce, Bruce wouldn’t be able to escape that dark prison. There’s not a better Batman series.

‘Planet of the Apes Reboot Trilogy’ (2011–2017)

This is one of the most satisfying modern trilogies structurally since every film changes scale without losing the same emotional center. A lot of trilogies start intimate and then get bigger at the cost of what made the first one hurt. This one does the opposite. It keeps expanding the world while making Caesar (Andy Serkis) more and more tragically legible. Rise is the most personal of the three, a story about intelligence, captivity, tenderness, and awakening through a single ape’s bond with a human family and his eventual recognition that love does not cancel domination. It is a prison-break origin story with a soul.

Then Dawn pulls the smartest possible middle-chapter move: it does not rush to apocalyptic emptiness. It places fragile civilization against fragile civilization. Human survivors. Ape society. Trust trying to exist under historical and biological suspicion. Koba (Toby Kebbell) poisoning coexistence from one side, human fear poisoning it from the other. That is perfect middle-film architecture. The bridge between possibility and catastrophe. Then War narrows again in a fascinating way. It sounds like the biggest title, but emotionally it becomes the grimmest and most sacrificial. Caesar turns from revolutionary father into a haunted Moses figure dragging his people toward a future he will not truly inhabit. That is structured with tragic intelligence. Birth. Fracture. Exodus.

‘Star Wars Original Trilogy’ (1977–1983)

There is something almost annoyingly clean about the structure of the original Star Wars trilogy. It has been absorbed so completely into culture that people forget how elegantly it moves. The first film is not only a hit. It is one of the greatest myth-delivery ever pulled off in popular cinema. It takes farm-boy yearning, fascist machinery, rogue charisma, spiritual mystery, princess-fire, old-war melancholy, and turns them into a complete heroic ignition. It ends with victory, yes, though the world still feels open enough that the story can darken.

And darken it does. The Empire Strikes Back is still maybe the best second chapter anyone ever built for a blockbuster saga. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)’s training becomes spiritually destabilizing rather than triumphantly empowering. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher)’s romance gets sharpened under pressure and real risk. The Rebellion starts looking fragile. Vader stops being a great villain and becomes something worse, a family wound at galactic scale. Then Return of the Jedi lands the most difficult thing: emotional closure without amputating myth. The throne room confrontation is the key. The trilogy has been moving toward external victory, sure, but its real climax is filial and spiritual, whether Luke becomes his father, rejects his father, or reaches something human still buried inside him. That is why the structure feels immortal. Adventure opens it. Revelation deepens it. Redemption completes it.

‘The Lord of the Rings Trilogy’ (2001–2003)

This is number one since it is not just perfectly structured in the technical sense. It is perfectly structured in the emotional sense, which is much rarer. A lot of trilogies can map escalation. Very few understand how to distribute hope, dread, separation, temptation, warfare, grief, and closure over three films without exhausting the audience or cheating the characters. The Fellowship of the Ring does the essential first-film miracle: it makes the world feel boundless and the quest feel intimate at the same time. The fellowship forms not as a franchise checklist but as a fragile answer to encroaching darkness. By the time it breaks, the trilogy has already taught you the emotional cost of fracture.

Then The Two Towers does exactly what a middle chapter of this story must do: it splinters the narrative, deepens the war, and lets every character arc darken differently. Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) get spiritually cornered. Merry Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin Took (Billy Boyd) wander into the politics of the forest. Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) stops being merely the hidden king and starts becoming the man who might be able to carry inherited greatness without being swallowed by it. Then The Return of the King arrives and somehow pays all of it off. Not by just getting bigger, though it absolutely gets bigger, but by staying faithful to every emotional bill the trilogy has been quietly running up. Sam’s devotion. Frodo’s depletion. Théoden (Bernard Hill)’s doomed nobility. Éowyn (Miranda Otto)’s hunger to matter. Aragorn’s acceptance. Gollum (Andy Serkis) as fate and ruin fused together. And then the ending keeps going, wisely. The trilogy even acknowledges that victory is not the same thing as restoration. Evil can be defeated and the wound can remain. That is why it is number one. Perfect structure is not just building to climax. It is knowing exactly how long the heart needs after the climax to understand what was lost and what was saved.

“The Matrix” director Lilly Wachowski issued blunt comments about J.K. Rowling in a new interview, accusing the “Harry Potter” writer of funding transgender genocide. Now, the prolific author has responded via a statement from a representative, highlighting the right to free speech.

Following Wachowski accusing Rowling of “funding trans genocide” and lumping her in with Nazis, her agent, Neil Blair, issued a response to the filmmaker via Entertainment Weekly. Blair began, “Freedom of speech is a principle we should all cherish.”

The statement continued, “What matters is that J.K. Rowling’s views, as with anyone else’s, are represented accurately, fairly and respectfully and that individual opinion does not detract from those views.”

In addressing the “Matrix” director directly, the agent noted, “To correct Lilly Wachowski, through The J.K. Rowling Women’s Fund, J.K Rowling supports women taking legal action in the UK to preserve their existing rights under the Equality Act 2010, which are often overlooked or threatened.”

The statement debunked the “trans genocide” claim by highlighting, “She does not support legal actions aimed at harming transgender people or efforts to limit trans rights.”

Rowling’s agent then defended the “Harry Potter” author, saying, “People are free to disagree with her views, but seriously defamatory allegations of this nature, even outrageously invoking the Nazi’s and the genocide that they committed, should never be presented as fact when they are clearly fabricated and not based on any evidence.”

Wachowski is currently promoting her upcoming political thriller “The Hunted.” She recently spoke to Variety, with the reporter mentioning not only Rowling but also Elon Musk, noting “cultural damage” to the trans community from both figures.

Regarding her thoughts on them, Wachowski said, “I mean… these people are Nazis. They’re literal Nazis. There is a one-to-one connection between Elon Musk and the Nazi community.” After that, the reporter mentioned the upcoming “Harry Potter” HBO series and the various opinions surrounding it because of Rowling’s views on trans people.

Wachowski stated, “She is funding trans genocide. J.K. Rowling funds trans genocide, full stop. So, if you support “Harry Potter,” you’re supporting trans genocide.”

The filmmaker continued, “The money that goes into you enjoying these products, a portion of that money goes to J.K. Rowling, and that money goes into her funding anti-trans legislation all over the world.”

After that, she expounded, saying, “In the same way that if you are against Elon Musk, you boycott or don’t buy Tesla; and if you’re against global warming/climate change, you try not to buy as much gas, you try to mitigate your use of these products. It’s simple math.”

She added, “So, your enjoyment of these shows, and continued support of these shows, is supporting my eradication.”

Rowling first drew backlash in 2018 when, according to The Week, she liked a post on social media where transgender women were referred to as “men in dresses.” After that, in 2019, she publicly supported Maya Forstater, a researcher who lost her position over anti trans comments.

Since then, the author has been vocal about her beliefs on social media and in interviews. In 2023, she spoke out on her “The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling” podcast, revealing that she wasn’t surprised by the backlash she’d received up until that point for her beliefs.

She said, “I could see that they believed they were living the values that I had espoused in those books. I could tell that they believed they were fighting for underdogs and difference and fairness.”

Rowling then discussed feeling concerned for her safety. She then said, “Time will tell whether I’ve got this wrong. I can only say that I’ve thought about it deeply and hard and long, and I’ve listened, I promise, to the other side. And I believe absolutely that there is something dangerous about this movement, and it must be challenged.”

Rowling’s literary career remains active as she has a new book coming out under her pseudonym, Robert Galbraith, “Sleep Tight, Evangeline.” Per the offical website, Rowling announced the novel in February 2026 but has yet to reveal the release date.

Notably, the upcoming book will be her 9th in the popular Cormoran Strike detective series.

If Shanna Moakler could turn back time, she may have said no to participating in ex-husband Travis Barker’s documentary.

“I regret a lot. I wish I didn’t do it,” Moakler, 51, shared on the Thursday, September 10, episode of iHeartRadio’s “I Do, Part 2” podcast. “I don’t know how he got me to go and do this documentary. I think it was before he was with his wife [Kourtney Kardashian]. I’m pretty sure. And I just wish I hadn’t done it because I knew in my heart I wasn’t going to be portrayed the way that I felt I deserved.”

Although Moakler hasn’t watched Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, which premiered on Hulu in August, the bits and pieces that people have shared with her are more than enough for her to come to a conclusion.

“I just was like, ‘Yeah, that’s kind of what I thought was going to happen,’” she told podcast host Jana Kramer. “I’m a little disappointed with myself for participating.”

Barker, 50, and Moakler were married from 2004 to 2008 and share son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20.

Moakler is expected to share more about her past relationships in her upcoming memoir, Blink of an Eye. She hopes to provide a narrative that may be different from what some fans developed all the way back in 2005 when she appeared on Meet the Barkers.

“It’s not just about Travis. Travis has a couple chapters, but it’s not just about chapters,” she said. “I want this book to be one that inspires women to learn about trauma, trauma bonding, how to get over living through embarrassing things in the public eye, but more than anything, kind of finding that journey back to yourself. It’s more about inspiring women.”

During her candid interview with Kramer, 42, Moakler was also asked about being friends with your exes and their new significant others.
