Days of our Lives: Chanel Violently Attacked – Did Sophia Lose Control?!

Days of Our Lives sees Chanel Dupree Dimera (Raven Bowens) is so happy and so excited to be pregnant and to be giving her adopted infant son, Trey DiMera, a baby brother or sister. But what in the world is she thinking when she goes to visit his birth mom, Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd), at Bayview?

It’s Belynda from Soap Dirt. And we already know that Chanel and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). But mostly Johnny, are on Sophia’s revenge list that she made while she was in the psych hospital. So, we’re going to talk about whether Chanel makes a huge mistake by visiting Sophia at Bayview. And hey, hit subscribe if you’re not following us and let’s dig in.

Chanel’s Pregnancy News and High-Risk Ultrasound Results on Days of Our Lives

So, Chanel and her husband Johnny just had their six-week pregnancy ultrasound with Dr. Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). And we all know Johnny’s been worried about Chanel’s high-risk pregnancy. But this appointment brought great news. Johnny and Chanel were so relieved when Sarah said everything is normal.

And Johnny and his wife learned that the baby’s doing great. Pregnancy is normal. It seems like Chanel’s cancer isn’t coming back. And they saw their little baby bean’s heartbeat on the ultrasound. So Chanel is feeling grateful that Johnny is finally on board with the bun in the oven.

He was worried about her health, understandably. But everything seems to be lining up for Johnny and Chanel to grow their little family and to live happily ever after. Except there is a complete and total teen psycho gunning for them. But when Chanel decides to visit Sophia at the mental hospital, is Chanel going to be putting herself and their unborn baby at risk?

Dr. Gregory’s Risky Strategy for Sophia’s Recovery at Bayview on DOOL

So last week, Dr. Gregory invited Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) up to Bayview to meet with her former best friend Sophia. And we all saw that didn’t go very well. Seeing Holly triggered Sophia who lashed out and she almost struck Holly before Dr. Gregory jumped in to protect her and stop Sophia’s attack.

And then Dr. Gregory was apologizing to Holly. But that doesn’t mean the shrink won’t try again and bring somebody else in to see if they can shake Sophia out of her mute state. And we all know Holly chewed Sophia a new one. She really vented at her before she stormed off out of Bayview.

And this is why I think she might do it again because Dr. Gregory actually praised Sophia for showing emotions even though it wasn’t positive or constructive emotions. She wrote that “I hate her” note that Dr. Gregory said was really showing progress.

And I wonder if the doctor gets another genius idea and she’s the one who invites Chanel up to Bayview. I’m no shrink. But I’m not sure that parading Sophia’s past victims in front of her is a good idea. And even if Dr. Gregory thinks it’s good for Sophia, that doesn’t mean it’s good for the people that she targeted and tormented in the past.

The History of Sophia’s Revenge Against Johnny & Chanel

Because Sophia still hates Johnny. First for backing out of signing the adoption papers because he was having daddy issues with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). And then if you recall that triggered Sophia to drop her newborn baby boy at the firehouse safe space.

She put on a pregnancy pad. She faked delivery weeks later. And She lied about the gender. Set up a fake adoption. There was a lot to it. And even after all that, when Johnny and Chanel decided they did want to adopt Little T, then Sophia did everything in her power to prevent that from happening.

You know, she wrote letters to DCFS. And the final straw before her breakdown was her sending naughty texts to Johnny from Holly’s cell after she got her drunk. That stunt almost cost Johnny his job as a professor and it almost cost them the chance to adopt little Trey because it made Johnny seem like he was perving on a Salem U student.

Rachel Spills the Secret of Baby Trey’s Adoption on Days of Our Lives

Thankfully, Chanel and Johnny along with Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) were able to get to the bottom of Sophia’s meddling and lies and expose them. Then Chanel and Johnny officially adopted little John Paul III called Trey with the blessing of Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo), the bio dad of Little T.

Since then, Johnny and Chanel have been wonderful, loving, and committed parents. They just had Baby Trey—they did his little ceremony. And they had Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) and Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) officially declared his godparents at the christening.

And we also have little Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) telling Sophia that her cousin Johnny and Chanel adopted Trey and that they’re great parents to her little boy. That was news that Tate and Arianna Horton (Marissa Reyes) had been extra careful not to mention to seemingly fragile Sophia during their visits. But of course, she heard it from Rachel.

And now that Sophia figured out how to creep out of Bayview any time to make mischief on these short little runs she’s been doing, the stage is now set for Rachel’s Bayview bestie to do one last breakout, a big one, so that Sophia can go on the run and permanently escape the mental hospital.

Will Sophia Escape Bayview to Kidnap Her Birth Son on DOOL?

Now, Sophia’s not been caught outside the hospital, even though Rachel confessed that she covered for Sophia so that she could go to the library. And of course, Holly didn’t believe Ari when she swore she saw Sophia in Horton Town Square. Holly flat out said, “No, didn’t happen. You’re wrong.” Which is crazy.

So, when we do get Sophia’s big breakout of the Psych Hospital, I think that there’s a chance she may kidnap her birth child away from Chanel and Johnny to punish them. Sophia wants Johnny to pay. And I mean, honestly, Chanel may just be collateral damage.

So Sophia may decide to run off with Trey. And since we know she still wants Tate, maybe Sophia is deluded enough to think Tate would raise Trey with her, even though that’s not his biological child. And with Chanel reaching out to Sophia, that could trigger a series of unfortunate events.

The Potential Violent Consequences of Chanel’s Bayview Visit on Days of our Lives

You know, Chanel may want to let Sophia know that Trey is thriving, that he’s loved. And that he’s going to have a little brother or sister in about eight months. I suspect if Chanel tells her this, it will enrage Sophia. And she may lash out violently and get physical with Chanel like she tried to do with Holly recently.

And Sophia may justify her actions by insisting that Chanel and Johnny don’t need her baby anymore because they’ve got one of their own on the way. Plus, Sophia may get it into her head that Trey might be neglected when Chanel and Johnny have a biological baby.

Either Sophia physically attacks Chanel, or we could see the stress of visiting Sophia might land Chanel in the hospital for monitoring if Sophia goes nuts and rages at her and stresses Chanel out to the point that her blood pressure spikes or something.

Days of our Lives: February Sweeps and the Future for Raven Bowens and Carson Boatman

I just don’t think it’s going to go well for Johnny, Chanel, and baby Trey once his bio mom gets on the loose. So, I do wonder if Sophia is going to run off with Trey soon. You know, she may wait until Johnny and Chanel are distracted by their new baby’s birth later this year. But I don’t think that Sophia can be that patient.

She’s pretty impulsive. So, I think she may break out sooner rather than later. And since we’re officially in February sweeps starting today, I think Sophia may look to get her revenge on Chanel and Johnny sooner rather than later. Plus, we know from official casting spoilers that Carson Boatman and Raven Bowens were fired from Days of Our Lives.

They came back from their holiday break to pink slips. So, with the nine to ten month tape-to-air delay, we’re still going to be seeing Johnny and Chanel for a bit longer until later in 2026. And it could be that some dark turn that Sophia takes could be what sends Johnny and Chanel out of town when their characters exit.
