The entertainment industry is still reeling from fear and uncertainty after news that Paramount will purchase Warner Bros. Discovery, following a months-long battle with Netflix for the home of HBO, DC, Harry Potter, and more. While the deal has a long way to go before being finalized, many, both in and out of the entertainment world, have expressed concerns about how this mega-merger between two of Hollywood’s oldest and most historic studios will impact both artists and consumers. Now, Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette (who happens to play a cuthroat business executive in Severance), has some scathing thoughts on Hollywood’s ongoing “monopolization.”
Speaking to Collider’s Perri Nemiroff on the red carpet at the Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards), Arquette was asked what she would change about the movie and TV industry if she could, and why. Arquette responded:
“I’m concerned about all this consolidation. First of all, it’s gonna hamper artists, and it’s very politicized, and I think it’s gonna limit their creativity and the stories that they’re telling. But besides that, I think it’s really bad for the consumer, besides the freedom creatively. Once you start monopolizing and ending up with like four networks, they can drive up your prices, and you’re gonna be paying a lot more for entertainment. So it’s not even in your best interest in the long run to allow these things to happen. But I’m also concerned that there doesn’t seem to be any looking at monopolization, and if it starts with this industry, it’s just going to steamroll across all industries.”
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Collider as the updates come in.
Jessie Buckley has been sweeping awards season so far for her heartstring-tugging role as William Shakespeare‘s wife Anne in Hamnet, winning at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, and the BAFTAs. Tonight, the winning streak has continued. At SAG’s Actor Awards on Sunday, she took home Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, further bolstering her already very strong case for Best Actress at the Oscars. Her victory in her first individual nomination at the event didn’t come without some tough competition, though. Rose Byrne earned a ton of buzz coming off of what was seen as a career-best turn in Mary Bronstein‘s nightmarish motherhood drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, with other big players like Kate Hudson, Chase Infiniti, and Emma Stone also being up for the prize.
This marks Buckley’s first-ever Actor Awards win, and it certainly bodes well for her chances in the upcoming Oscar race. Buckley has long been considered the front-runner for the prize despite the stiff competition, which includes the same group of nominees mentioned above, minus Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another. Along with Jessie Buckley’s performance for Hamnet, other nominees include Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, Emma Stone for Bugonia, and Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value.
For those who have yet to see arguably the best and most emotional film of 2025, Hamnet explores the possible origins behind the creation of William Shakespeare‘s (Paul Mescal) timeless tragedy, Hamlet. While Mescal’s Bill Shakespeare certainly plays a pivotal role, most of the story follows things through the perspective of his wife, Agnes (Buckley), as they try to raise a family of their own, with the father trying to produce a play in London and the mother doing her best to give their children a perfect life. Things take a tragic turn when one of their children falls gravely ill.

Jessie Buckley Already Has a Massive Project Lined Up
Buckley’s historic Actor Award win really could not be coming at a better time, as the Oscar-nominated star already has another surefire hit right around the corner. On March 6, Buckley’s reunion with The Lost Daughter director Maggie Gyllenhaal will finally hit the big screen with The Bride! — a reinvention of The Bride of Frankenstein that plunges the titular character into the world of 1920s crime. Buckley will star alongside Christian Bale, Jake Gyllenhaal, Annette Bening, and Penélope Cruz.
Hamnet is available to rent or buy on VOD. Stay tuned to Collider updates.

Michael B. Jordan has earned his second-ever Actor Award for his performance (or performances) in Sinners, which is also his first-ever individual award after Black Panther previously won Best Ensemble Cast. Despite stiff competition from the likes of Timothée Chalametand Leonardo DiCaprio, Jordan came out on top to win Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. This certainly bodes well for his chances at the upcoming Academy Awards, which mark his first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Lead Actor.
Despite releasing much earlier in 2025, which typically doesn’t bode well for films hoping to break into awards season, Ryan Coogler‘s smash-hit vampire movie has defied expectations on just about every front, becoming a true cultural phenomenon and an apparent awards season darling. There are many reasons for that, but Michael B. Jordan’s performance as two twin gangsters trying to start a new life for themselves in the supernatural south is certainly a big factor.
Taking place in the height of the Prohibition Era during the ’30s, Sinners primarily follows two gangsters who flee Chicago to open up their own juke joint in their home state of Mississippi. Jordan plays both roles: the stoic, business-focused Smoke and the wily, charismatic Stack, as they each try to round up employees and customers for their ambitious plan. Their club is a resounding success, until a shady Irishman named Remick (Jack O’Connell) arrives on their doorstep asking to be invited in, and it doesn’t take long for the twins to realize he is a creature not of this earth.
What’s Next for Michael B. Jordan?
Now one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Michael B. Jordan has plenty of exciting projects lined up. One of the biggest starring roles Jordan is expected to lead is a reimagining of Miami Vice alongside Austin Butler, directed by Top Gun: Maverick and F1 helmer Joseph Kosinski. However, in addition to starring in new projects, Michael B. Jordan also has plans to return behind the camera as well. After making his directorial debut with Creed III, Jordan is now working on a remake of the classic crime story The Thomas Crown Affair as an actor and director. Also in the works is a reported fourth Creed movie that Jordan is expected to star in and direct, and he is also executive producing The Fourth Wing, which is easily Prime Video’s most anticipated fantasy series.
Sinners is available to stream on HBO Max. Stay tuned to Collider as the updates come in.
Whew, Roommates! Joie Chavis has the internet in a tizzy over her latest post. The fitness influencer dropped a Reel video showing off her gym gains and teasing her next workout program, but that didn’t stop fans from clocking her outfit choice in the clip.
Joie Chavis Flexes Her Gym Gains, But The Internet Can’t Stop Talking About Her Outfit
On Saturday, February 28, Joie Chavis dropped a video on Instagram showing her followers the results of sticking to her diet and going hard in the gym. The clip shows the mom of three standing in her bathroom, flexing her flat stomach while her abs steal the spotlight. Her curves were on a 100 too while she rocked a crop top and underwear.
Feeling herself, Joie captioned the post saying she’s about to have the summer on lock. Her video was immediately flooded with heart-eyes and fire emojis, with fans drooling over and calling her bawdy tea. But even with all of the love came some shade. Some people felt she could’ve kept the video in her drafts or even just shared it with her close friends. One commenter slid into her comments, saying, “I would hate to get on the internet and see my mom in her panties.” Joie peeped the remark and didn’t hesitate to clap back with, “your momma don’t look like me baby.”
Social Media Is Split Over Joie’s Lack Of Clothing
The Roomies went off in TSR’s comment section over Joie’s fit. Some folks said fitness is her brand, so they didn’t see a problem with her flexing. Others threw a little shade themselves, agreeing with the troll that she should’ve kept the video private — but still gave her props for the clap back. Then, there was a few others who stood ten toes down on underwear and bikini bottoms being the same thing, so they didn’t see the issue.

Joie Shows Off Her Incredible Post-Baby Transformation
Despite all of the reactions to Joie’s post, she’s always kept it 100 about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and putting in work in the gym. In October 2025, she served as major goals for the girlies after showing off how she managed to go from 220 to 160 pounds after having her third child, Harlo Rose, with Trevon Diggs. In her caption, Joie talked about giving herself grace and bouncing back. She also mentioned being proud of herself for sticking to her plan and staying focused. Peep the video below.

Roomies, things got scary in downtown Austin early Sunday morning. A popular bar became the scene of chaos after a gunman opened fire, leaving at least three dead and 14 injured before police fatally shot the suspect. Authorities have now identified the man as Ndiaga Diagne. And, the FBI’s joint terrorism task force has been called in to help figure out what exactly happened.
According to officials, Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalized American from Senegal who moved to the U.S. in 2006, was armed with both a pistol and an assault rifle. Police say he drove a large SUV around the block before opening fire in front of the Buford’s bar then exited the vehicle and continued shooting. Officers arrived at the scene within 57 seconds of the first 911 call and confronted the gunman immediately, preventing the death toll from being much higher.
Ndiaga Diagne’s History & Alleged Terror Link Examined
Furthermore, it was reported that Diagne was wearing a “Property of Allah” hoodie. While still under investigation, reports state that he could’ve allegedly been acting in retaliation for recent U.S. strikes on Iran, law enforcement sources told the New York Post. Diagne was described as a long-time emotionally disturbed individual with a history of arrests spanning both New York and Texas. He had lived in New York City since 2000, accumulating multiple arrests between 2001 and 2016, including a 2001 bust for illegal vending, though three other cases remain sealed. After moving to Texas, neighbors noted erratic behavior, though authorities say no prior violent incidents were reported locally.
Reports further claim that investigators found a Quran in his car. Also, he was reportedly wearing an undershirt featuring Iranian symbols or the Iranian flag when he opened fire. The combination of his past arrests, mental health struggles, and possible political motives has law enforcement carefully examining every angle.

FBI Probes Terror Link As Texas Boosts Security
FBI investigators are currently examining a potential terrorist link, though no motive has been confirmed. Evidence recovered from Diagne and his vehicle raised concerns, and authorities are also reviewing his history of mental health issues. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott referenced recent U.S.-Israel tensions, warning that anyone using global conflicts to threaten Texans would face “decisive and overwhelming force.” Additionally, the National Guard and local law enforcement increased patrols across the state.
After the news broke, Mayor Kirk Watson and emergency officials praised the swift response from police and paramedics. He even noted that their routine presence in downtown Austin likely saved lives. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes, with screaming, crying, and panicked bystanders. Meanwhile, former bar employees shared relief that staff survived the horrific attack. Public attention is now shifting toward Texas gun laws, which critics say remain dangerously lenient, allowing concealed carry without permits and ranking the state low in national firearm safety standards.
Logan Paul nearly became the new owner of Hulk Hogan’s bloody wrestling boots before losing a bidding war.
“Stayed up until 2am in a bidding war trying to win Hulk Hogan’s worn & signed boots from Wrestlemania 1,” Paul, 30, wrote via X on Sunday, March 1. “The inscription read ‘These are my real boots with my real blood on them from MSG, Hulk Hogan.’”
He continued, “I tapped out at $1,021,000. Gg to the winner.”
Paul shared a screenshot of the yellow lace-up tall boots, with Hogan’s message written on the side. The picture noted that Hogan wore the boots in 1985.

Hogan began his wrestling career in the late 1970s, later joining the WWE in 1979. He officially retired from wrestling in 2012. More than a decade later, Hogan died of a heart attack in July 2025. He was 71.
Medical documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed that Hogan had a history of leukemia CLL. One month before his death, a source told Us that Hogan underwent a “pretty serious” heart surgery but was “doing well.”
Paul, meanwhile, made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania in 2022. That same year, Paul announced that he signed with WWE.
Hulk Hogan was undoubtedly crucial to WWE’s stratospheric popularity during the 1980s and 1990s, but he was also a hugely controversial figure on screen and off. The next year, Paul re-signed with WWE on a multiyear deal. “I feel incredibly blessed to have found something that I’m good at, at 28 years old,” he said in a statement at the time. “And the fact that the organization believes I’m good enough to continue hopefully building this WWE legacy is mind-blowing.”

Earlier this year, Paul made headlines when he teased a wrestling match with Bad Bunny — a longtime wrestling fan — after previously sharing on a red carpet that he was not excited for the rapper’s Super Bowl Halftime show. (Paul later admitted on his podcast that he was an “ass” on the red carpet.)

“Let’s peel back the f***ing curtain. I’m going to stop f***ing around. Bad Bunny is a world-renowned superstar,” Paul said on a February 17 episode of his “Impaulsive” podcast. “He also can be a WWE superstar when he wants. He’s a good wrestler. He can f***ing wrestle.”
He continued, “There have been talks about maybe us wrestling. It’s been floated around. I’ve been candid about the fact that I’d love to do it. I think it would be the greatest WWE match of all time. I really believe that.”
Between Olympic victories and the smash hit of HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry, ice hockey is everywhere in the present cultural zeitgeist. Soon, Prime Video will provide fans with a new show to further add fuel to the fire. Off Campus is coming to Prime Video in May. The series is by romcom author Elle Kennedy and the series operates similar to the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn, where each book features a couple that pops up in other books in the series before and after they have a Happily Ever After. With just two months to release, fans already know who will be playing their favorite characters. Ella Bright (The Crown) and Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn) are Season 1’s leads, Hannah and Garrett. Josh Heuston (Dune: Prophecy), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), and Stephen Kalyn (Gen V) also star.
Kalyn will play Dean Di Laurentis, who leads Book 3, The Score (and Abdalla will play his future love interest, Allie.) Speaking with Collider’s Perri Nemiroff at the 2026 Actor Awards, Kalyn dished on what fans can expect for the inaugural season of the upcoming hockey-themed Prime Video series. He says, “It’s kind of a coming [of] age story, hockey players, romance, fun, spicy, comedy, kind of show. So yeah, it’s gonna be exciting. I’m really looking forward for people to see it.” Kalyn also explained how to maintain chemistry with such a big ensemble:
“We kind of all talked about it at the beginning, where the most important thing is that if we’re having fun on camera… I think the audience will have fun… I think we all just kind of connected right off the bat. And that’s gonna be a really important thing that audiences are gonna click with.”

Kalyn tells Collider that many of the actors had to enter a hockey camp in order to get ready for the role. Getting a crash course in the occupation of the character you’re playing is not abnormal in the world of Hollywood, but for Kalyn, he felt right at home. When asked if there was anything he struggled with, Kalyn excitedly explained to Collider:
“I don’t mean to brag but I’m pretty sick at hockey. I grew up playing hockey my whole life. I’m from Toronto, Canada, so hockey’s in my blood. I got nothing, I’m pretty awesome. I think I’m ready to play with USA and Team Canada. I think I’m ready to go.”
Kalyn does get modest on Collider towards the end, explaining, “well, maybe not that good,” but come May, fans can see just how well his hockey chops and acting chops align.

Robert Carradine was preparing to step back in front of the camera for a new film role just weeks before his death, and now, the project is set to become a tribute to his legacy. The late actor had been cast in “The Driver,” a mafia movie directed by Connie Lamothe, where he was slated to portray crime boss Antonio Politano. Production had finally resumed after years of pandemic-related delays, making the opportunity especially meaningful for Carradine. Following his passing at age 71, Lamothe is sharing details about their final interactions and how the film will move forward while honoring Robert Carradine’s memory.

According to Lamothe, there were no obvious signs that anything was wrong during their last discussion in mid-January. “The last conversation was positive and upbeat,” she told Daily Mail. “He spoke to Wayne [Shipley, his friend/Lamothe’s colleague] and was good to go. There was nothing that suggested otherwise. That was in the middle of January. The discussion was mostly about specifics for the table read.”

The director said Robert Carradine had been enthusiastic about joining the project after years of delays. “Bobby was very gung-ho about that. Wanted to come. Definitely wanted to do it. And so that was great. So we got everything all set. We had set the date for February 21, and Wayne, to be honest, was doing most of the communicating with Bobby, and all of a sudden he just stopped,” she continued. “There was just nothing more. No information period.”

Silence Sparked Concern Among The Production Team

Lamothe admitted that she and her colleague became worried when communication suddenly stopped, but chose to give the actor space.“Wayne and I were concerned about that, but some actors do that,” she said. “Not to be unfair or unkind, but sometimes that just happens. We wanted to just kind of let it ride out a little bit and give him some space, depending on whatever was happening with him. And so that’s what we thought we were doing.”
Because they had not heard from him, the production team eventually moved the date of the table read, something Robert Carradine never knew. “So we didn’t hear from him, so we decided we were going to go ahead and change the date, which we did,” she continued. “Bobby never knew that. He didn’t know that the date changed to the 14th of March.”

Director Says She Feels ‘Really Bad’ After Robert Carradine Missed Film Plans Before His Death
Billy Bennight/AdMedia /MediaPunch / MEGA
“That, for me, was really upsetting, because when you don’t know actually what the details are and what he may have been going through,” she admitted. “I think that was just the hardest part for me was thinking that was thinking that.”
Lamothe added, “I hope, because he’s an actor, that he did not have any guilt or just feelings about, ‘I know it was this weekend. I didn’t go, I wasn’t there. I let everybody down.’ And so I’ve kind of mulled that over a little bit and felt really bad about it. To be frank, whatever happened could have had absolutely nothing in the world to do with what we were doing. I don’t know that, but just being a person that cares, I just wouldn’t want to think that.”
Film Will Be Dedicated To Carradine’s Memory

Although the role will now be recast, Lamothe said there was never any doubt the film would honor Robert Carradine. “I’m really sad that we don’t get to do that, but we’re going to go ahead and make the [table] reading in his honor,” she said. “We’ll dedicate the film to him, without a doubt, because I think he deserved the part. And you know, just in my mind, he was that part.”
Lamothe also believes the project may have been Carradine’s final scheduled role, telling the outlet, “As far as what I know and what I’ve been told, that was the last thing he had, you know?”

Robert Carradine’s Family Calls Him A ‘Beacon Of Light’ While Confirming His Death
David Edwards / MEGA
Robert Carradine’s family confirmed his death in a statement, revealing he had struggled with bipolar disorder for nearly two decades. “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away,” his family announced on Monday.
The statement continued, “In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon of light to everyone around him.”
Set in rural Mississippi in 1932, Sinners follows gangster twins Smoke and Stack — both played by Michael B. Jordan— who return home after years in Chicago with plans to open a juke joint nightclub. What begins as a celebration of community, culture, and music spirals into chaos when a trio of vampires, led by Jack O’Connell’s Remmick, descend upon the town. The brilliant cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, and breakout performer Miles Caton.

How Good Is ‘Sinners’?
Collider’s review stated thatSinners was Coogler’s most visually audacious film to date — a sweeping, kinetic spectacle that proves his blockbuster instincts are sharper than ever — but it also exposed a blind spot when it comes to delivering genuinely terrifying horror. The nightclub sequences are singled out as the film’s high point: sweaty, sensual, and electric, driven by a standout soundtrack and choreography that makes the horror almost secondary, and the whole film frames Jordan like a real film star, a true leading man, but it also notes that, compared to the sophistication and menace of recent vampire tales like Nosferatu, Sinners pulls its punches. Violent moments often cut away before landing impact, and the vampires — marked by basic visual effects and occasionally awkward tonal choices — feel more theatrical than terrifying.
Sinners is an electric film sparkling with energy and passion. Coogler takes everything he has honed over the past 10 years and crafts a spectacle hoisted up by exceptional visual storytelling. The focus here is action and imagery, so the weaker character development and script than his past films can be forgiven. What can’t be ignored, though, is that Coogler isn’t yet a master of horror. And this is perhaps a great thing to happen to the cinema world. As extraordinarily talented as Coogler is, as intentional his style feels, and as talented as the performers are, horror should never be something that people dismiss as not requiring the same level of expertise
