General Hospital: Jacinda Spikes Willow – Plot Shames the Congresswoman Hard!
General Hospital just saw Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) drug Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) iced coffee. So, now we’re waiting to see what is going to happen when the drugs kick in. This could change everything for Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and his ex-wife.
And I can see Willow winding up totally humiliated. So, we’re going to talk about exactly how Jacinda’s plot to punish Willow plays out and where Willow might be when that little pill kicks in.
Jacinda Plots on General Hospital
So, we just saw Jacinda get a little baggie of pills from Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove). Jacinda apparently left at her favorite ex-customer’s place a few months ago. These are some kind of anti-anxiety medication maybe. Or something like that. Because she told Ezra she needed them to take the edge off after Willow hit her with that restraining order.
Michael doesn’t know yet that Willow filed legal papers to keep Jacinda away from Wylie and Amelia. But the court thought that her arrest record of prostitution was enough for a ban on her being around the kids. And that could hurt Michael in custody court that a judge signed off on this against his girlfriend Jacinda.
Then Willow told Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) about the restraining order and her mom freaked. She told Willow she needs to stop antagonizing Michael. And definitely needs to drop trying to get the PCPD to reopen the case into Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting. You know, Nina told her, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) told her, she’s not listening.
And then when Jacinda dropped off Nina’s dry cleaning at her apartment. So Jacinda was left alone with the coffees and dropped a pill into Willow’s iced treat. So now, since Jacinda left those pills at Ezra’s. And he seemed to know what they were, I assume that Jacinda has taken them at his place. They’re not like the ketamine.
If you remember that Nina and Portia had given Jacinda to dose Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison). Because that was a liquid. So, this is different. But if it’s anti-anxiety medication or a tranquilizer of some sort, it could really mess Willow up. Since she probably has no tolerance for it and certainly wasn’t expecting to be drugged.
Willow’s Potential Public Humiliation on GH
So, the first thing is after Willow leaves Nina’s place, she might all of a sudden get woozy and start driving erratically. You know, we don’t know if the kids are going to be in the car. If she does, obviously, Willow would have no idea she had drugs in her system. If she got pulled over and arrested for driving under some kind of influence, that would obviously be front page news.
It would ruin her rep as a congresswoman. And of course, Jacinda would be thrilled to see Willow humiliated. Just like when it happened to Drew. And that means Willow’s rep would be tarnished. She would probably lose her seat. And then Michael could leverage that incident.
But Willow was just telling her mom, Nina, it’s the perfect time. She said it’s the best moment to make a move against Michael. Because she’s never been in a place of power like this. But a DWI arrest would be really bad for Willow in custody court. And of course, that is Jacinda’s intention.
Willow Makes a Move on Chase on General Hospital
Another thing is the pills might loosen up Willow. And she does something crazy like she gets in a situation where she makes a move on Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). You know, she might run into him out in public somewhere and start to get flirty and handsy. Or if Willow is brought in for suspicion of DWI and sees Chase, she might get frisky with him up at the PCPD.
We know Willow is definitely still hung up on Chase. And we’ll see how much she is if she runs into him when she’s got lowered inhibitions from that pill in her coffee and starts making moves. Even worse if she did it in front of Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). Now that Willow and Drew are getting divorced, I could definitely see Willow making a move.
Now, I don’t think that Willow would usually be that blatant. But if this relaxation drug has her all loose and open, she might confess to Chase that she still wants him. Not being in her right mind, we could see Willow planting a kiss on Chase, which would mortify him and would be a really bad look for her.
Worst-Case Scenarios for Willow on GH
Another thing is that Willow might take the kids to the Metro Court pool and then the drugs kick in. You know, maybe she passes out on the chair while Wylie and Amelia are in the pool and without supervision, one of the kids, maybe Amelia. Because she’s younger might fall in the pool and then someone has to save them.
And that would be really horrific. Because there would be a lot of witnesses to the kids in the pool and Willow looking drunk or high or passed out. That would make her look like an unfit mother, especially if they then test her and there’s drugs found in her system. That would be great for Michael, which is ultimately what Jacinda is trying for. And that would be, of course, a nightmare for Willow and would wreck her in custody court.
General Hospital: Willow Goes Wild
And another thing we might see is they redo kind of what they did with Drew’s night of drugging and have Willow making a scene at the Metro Court or another establishment like Drew did when he was drugged with ketamine. But instead of doing body shots off somebody, maybe we’ll have somebody doing body shots off Willow. I could absolutely see her letting loose and getting rowdy if she’s hopped up on drugs. And that could definitely cost her her seat in Congress and her kids, which would thrill Jacinda.
But I think Michael is going to be horrified that Jacinda drugged the mother of his children. Another thing is we might also see Willow starting something with Drew, attacking him. Maybe not physically, maybe verbally. But out in public and airing some of their bad marriage dirty laundry. Willow has so much anger and hatred that’s built up towards Drew.
So, if those drugs loosen her tongue, Willow might cause a scene. And that would be amazing for Drew. Because if Willow went crazy and actually laid hands on him, somebody might call the cops and Willow could be arrested. And then it would be even worse if she was tested and they found these drugs in her system and she denies it. But they’re there.

Jacinda May Push Michael Too Far on General Hospital
I will say this, there are a couple of good reasons that Michael might be quite upset at what Jacinda has done to Willow. And we know that Michael’s losing his temper and asking Jacinda, “What did you do?” by the end of this week. So, one reason that Michael might be upset is if Willow has the kids with her when the pills kick in.
That alone might be enough for Michael to dump Jacinda. If she put his kids in danger with this petty revenge plot against Willow. Obviously, Michael would understand Jacinda’s frustration at being hit with the restraining order. But what she did to Willow is not the way to make things better. This is her little going rogue plot we’ve been talking about for a while.
Jacinda’s Scheme Brings Up Past Trauma for Michael
The second reason that Michael may not like this scheme of Jacinda’s is. Because something similar was done to him. I don’t know if you remember. But years back when Michael was angry at Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), he got custody of Avery Jerome Corinthos (Scarola twins) when she was a baby.
And Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) and Kiki Jerome (Haley Erin) were targeting Michael and they replaced his allergy medication with some sort of roofie and he took his allergy pills and he had a little drink. He wasn’t like boozing heavily. But as a result, he had an incident where he was just like blurry and he tipped over Avery’s stroller and it was caught on camera.
And if I recall correctly, that might have been what cost Michael custody of his little sister Avery. And then later, Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) tested his allergy meds and she figured out that he had been drugged and then it came out that Morgan and Kiki had done it to him. So, this might hit way too close to home for Michael and he might decide Jacinda truly is not the kind of woman he can allow around his kids, no matter if her plan succeeds and it helps him with the Willow problem.

Jennifer Grey on Parents’ Reunion Hours Before Mom’s Death
Jennifer Grey’s entire family came together ahead of her mother Jo Wilder’s death.
“The day before [my mom died], my dad and my daughter [Stella] and I came to her room and we were going through photographs,” Jennifer, 66, recalled on the Friday, August 7, episode of the “Waking Up With Ryan” podcast. “[There were] all of these family photographs that we had never seen or some of us had [not] seen since the ‘60s or whatever, and it was a treasure trove of … chapter upon chapter of life … of us being a tight, good family and them being really good parents.”
Wilder was married to Joel, 94, from 1958 to 1982, during which they welcomed the Dirty Dancing actress and son James Katz. Nearly two decades after their divorce, Wilder died last month just one week after being diagnosed with lung cancer. She was 94.
A County of Los Angeles department of public health death certificate obtained exclusively by Us on July 14 noted that Wilder was cremated on July 10 and was scattered at sea. The funeral establishment that handled her burial was Lifesource.
“You know when people say when they die they see, like, a movie of their life? It was like we were looking at a physical kind of catalog of our life with her and her life before us, and her childhood and all of that,” Jennifer noted on Friday of her final moments with Wilder. “It was very moving because the story we started to tell ourselves about what our childhood was, what their marriage was, in retrospect, how we rewrite the whole thing and in this, kind of, jaded way like, ‘Oh, now I see what the truth really was,’ and then you go, ‘No, this happened, this was real, this was love, and my parents loved each other.’”

In revisiting her parents’ memories, Jennifer realized that Wilder and Joel’s marriage was “really good” for 24 years before they went their separate ways.
“It made me so sad because the truth was they were really good for twenty four years, and then you have an awakening when you realize this isn’t what I want to continue doing,” Jennifer said. “It doesn’t negate what happened and how real it was.”
Jennifer and her 24-year-old daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Clark Gregg, sat by Wilder’s bedside as Joel also shared a touching message to his former spouse.
“He said, ‘The day you said ‘I do,’ was the first time I felt whole in my entire life, and I couldn’t believe how lucky that I was getting to marry this most incredible, beautiful woman,’” Jennifer recalled on Friday’s podcast episode. “We were all just crying our heads off, and it was just pure love of him remembering that moment, and it was like it was happening. It wasn’t like someone talking about something in the past, it felt like I was there.”
Jennifer also heard Joel make a simple yet “off-the-cuff” remark about their divorce, adding, “We went through … some bumps.”
“[My mom replied], ‘All is forgiven,’” Jennifer said. “I feel so much closer to her since then because what I was witnessing [in her illness] was hell, and all of a sudden, I’m going through all the things in her apartment and I’m seeing her life, [which] was so major and so beautiful and so fun, and so many chapters I didn’t know. All of a sudden, she feels like a whole person, and what that was just a blip.”

Young and Restless Next Week: Nick’s Chaotic Druggy Flirt & Victoria Crosses Line!
Young and the Restless presents some exciting new spoilers for next week. We have got Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) bailing on rehab, back on drugs, and it looks like he is about to hook up with some rando while he is high and on the run, hiding from the Newman family. Plus, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) goes too far when she gets really, really close to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) next week.
Young and the Restless: Victoria In a Panic
We’ll get to Nick’s druggy new hookup in just a moment, but first, let’s talk about his sister, Victoria. At the end of this week, she is at the GCAC talking to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) leaving for a romantic trip to Italy. And Claire’s joking about it being their 200th honeymoon, which is semi accurate.
And Victoria notices that Claire seems distracted, but in a good way, that she’s like glowing and swooning. And she tells her mom that things are moving forward with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and that Claire’s really happy, but she’s not ready to bring Holden around to meet her younger siblings when Victoria suggests it. Claire’s joking that she doesn’t want to torture Holden like that. Victoria is glad to hear Holden’s embracing the Winter’s family.
And then Victoria gets a call that Nick bailed on rehab after Victor and Nikki’s vow renewal ceremony. Nick didn’t go back. So, next week, Victoria is really upset about Nick going missing and nobody can find him. And that’s when Victoria runs into Kyle at Crimson Lights. Young and the Restless spoilers say she’s really upset and we’ve got Victoria crying on Kyle’s shoulder. And then when Victoria kind of pulls away a little bit, things get intense. They are looking like they’re just about to kiss.
Victoria and Kyle’s Moment on Y&R
Fans have been wondering for a while why Kyle kept getting tossed into scenes with Victoria. And I’ve seen people wondering if Y&R was planning to pair them, which of course seems icky because Kyle’s last girlfriend was Victoria’s daughter, Claire. But it looks like they are going there. Kyle and Victoria’s faces are so very close.
Looks like they’re about to kiss, so we may get a lip lock. I do wonder how Claire will react to her mom Victoria making out with her ex, Kyle. It seems dodgy, but you know, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) married Nick and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and their dad Victor, so it’s not unprecedented.
Now, let’s flip back to Nick and his crisis as his sobriety fails. So, Victoria gets the alert that Nick’s not where he should be, and Adam is actually the last one to have a face to face with his brother because Nick shows up to the ranch house and he seems off and Adam is concerned but supportive. There’s several red flags. Nick’s ignoring calls from the family.
Then he goes looking for Adam because Nick wants to ask Adam to keep an eye on Christian who right now just in terms of when he was born should be eleven. But Nick told Adam to watch him while I’m away because Christian is a teenager with a car. They aged that kid up off-screen, but we haven’t seen Christian in years.
Young and Restless: Nick Spirals
So, Adam was worried, but Nick’s impatient and tells Adam calm down. And then he lies and says his phone was off. He wasn’t really dodging calls and says he spent the night with Christian after the vow renewal ceremony. And Nick is twitchy and kind of annoyed that the rehab center called Adam and reported him for not returning.
So, Adam advises Nick to go back to rehab, get back in treatment as soon as possible. And then Nick claims that he wanted to spend that time with Christian because he found out rehab is going to last longer than expected. And Nick is also worried about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) being on the ranch.
So, he wants to make sure that Adam doesn’t let Christian anywhere around him. And Adam reassures Nick that won’t happen because Matt left the ranch and is living with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). And that just amps up Nick even more.
He is really angry that Matt is loose and Adam wants to know if Nick is really going back to rehab. And he assures Adam, yes, he’s going. And then Adam is telling Nick how proud he is of him. But once Nick walks out on that conversation, we’re going to see him looking really distraught on Friday’s episode. And of course, Adam’s worrying.
Nick’s Relapse on Y&R
And then Nick goes out to his car, immediately calls his dealer, and then meets the guy to get a delivery of a little baggie of pills. And of course, Nick immediately starts taking them, he even starts with two instead of one. And then we have Adam telling Victoria and Sharon that Nick was just there, but he left.
And Sharon’s upset that Adam let Nick leave. But Adam says Nick didn’t seem high and that he promised him he was going back to rehab. But then Sharon reminds Adam that addicts lie all the time. Sharon says it’s what they do. Adam also admits Nick was upset to hear Matt moved off the ranch and is running free.
And Sharon asked Victoria and Adam if they can track Nick’s car. Adam thinks that Sharon is overreacting. And then she’s surprised that Nick asked Adam to look after Christian and that’s part of why Sharon thinks something’s really off.

Nick Meets Someone New on Young and the Restless
So, Victoria calls the rehab center again on Friday and they tell her no, Nick has not come back. So, at that point, Sharon, Adam, and Victoria all want to find out where he’s gone. And then next week in Young and the Restless spoilers, we know that Nick hits a new low. He’s back on opioids. He’s hiding from his family and he’s up to no good.
So, on Monday, he’s going to meet this new chick. We’re going to see Nick in that dingy motel room they always use for bad things. And he’s with new character Marie Kirkland, who is played by soap veteran Jade Harlow. And we’ve got Nick telling Marie that he came there to be alone, but she’s telling Nick to just relax. And Marie says, “Who knows? We could have the time of our lives.”
So, we know that Nick’s new friend, Marie, is going to be a recurring character, and she’s got some sort of sad backstory, and she’s in Genoa City looking for a fresh start. But what is happening with Marie and Nick doesn’t look like a fresh start. It looks like a recipe for disaster.
And if Marie’s another drug abuser, then obviously she’ll be a terrible influence on Nick. Who doesn’t need that? So, we’ve known for a while that he was going to relapse, and now here it is happening. So, if Marie is some sort of party girl, she and Nick might hole up in that ratty hotel and just get high together because he can afford an endless supply of pills.
Young and the Restless: Devon Shares Huge News
And also next week, this is a fun nice spoiler. We’re going to see Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) in a good mood for a change. He is over at Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) place and is telling her and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and his wife Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) that he’s got something to tell them that will change their lives.
So, I can’t wait to see what that’s about. The only thing that’s kind of springing up in my mind is back to that Beyond the Gates crossover because they’ve been talking on the other soap about Devon working with a music group about cutting a new album that was going to use some of their backing tracks. Whatever news it is, I’m just honestly happy to see Devon not being a total sour puss for a change.
So, Young and the Restless looks absolutely action-packed next week, especially with Nick hooking up with what looks like another druggie and Victoria going too far with her daughter’s ex, Kyle. Make sure to check out our full weekly spoilers video tomorrow for August 10th through the 14th. Come back for weekly predictions, two week spoilers, and lots more.

Jim Carrey’s Hollywood Comeback In ‘Jetsons’ Live-Action Movie
Jim Carrey is set to star in the live-action remake of the futuristic 1960s cartoon “The Jetsons,” although an exact release date remains unknown.
Reports also suggest Carrey will reprise his role as the Grinch in a sequel to the 2000 movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Fans can expect to see plenty more of the comedian years after he came out of retirement for “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and joked that he needed the money.
The futuristic Orbit City is finally getting its real-world makeover following months of hearsay. In its Q2 shareholder letter, Warner Bros. Discovery officially confirmed that a live-action feature film based on Hanna-Barbera’s classic 1960s animated series “The Jetsons” is currently in development, with Jim Carrey attached to star.
The project, slated for release “beyond 2027,” also has “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Joe Epstein lined up, per Variety.
Alongside “The Jetsons,” the studio also announced high-profile future IP projects, including a new “Matrix” installment, a sequel to “The Batman,” and a “Game of Thrones” feature film.
‘The Jetsons’ Imagined A High-Tech Future
“The Jetsons” was first created by Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1962 as a futuristic counterpart to “The Flintstones.”
For the unfamiliar, it followed patriarch George Jetson, his wife Jane, children Judy and Elroy, Astro the dog, and Rosie the Robot Maid in a 21st-century world filled with flying cars, sky-high homes, and the space-age optimism of the era.
The family was depicted using a large-screen home entertainment system and other technology considered wildly futuristic at the time, including video calls, robots, and automated household gadgets. Several of the show’s ideas have since become surprisingly familiar.
The sci-fi animated show initially ran until 1963 but was revived in the ’80s for 51 more episodes, followed by the 1990 theatrical release of “Jetsons: The Movie.”
Jim Carrey Has More Familiar Roles On The Horizon

Carrey is no stranger to taking on iconic characters after starring as Dr. Robotnik in three “Sonic the Hedgehog” movies from 2020 to 2024. He’ll be back for the fourth installment, which is set to debut on March 19, 2027.
He’s also understood to be reprising his role as the Grinch after reports emerged suggesting Universal and Imagine Entertainment are developing a sequel to the 2000 film “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
The first film was a box-office hit, earning about $260 million domestically and $345 million worldwide. Its makeup work also earned an Oscar, but Carrey previously shared that the grueling, time-consuming process of transforming into the Grinch made him want to quit on the first day of production.
Speaking with Vulture late last year, he revealed that he considered returning his $20 million fee but ultimately got through the experience with help from a specialist who had trained CIA personnel in techniques for enduring extreme conditions. It also helped that his makeup routine was eventually cut to about three hours from an initial eight.
Carrey Previously Said He Was Done With Acting

Over the last six years, Carrey has appeared in only a handful of movies after previously suggesting he was ready to draw the curtain on his Hollywood career.
He made the revelation in a 2022 interview with Access Hollywood, saying he’d “done enough” acting and was “fairly serious” about pulling the plug. “I really like my quiet life, and I really like putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like … I have enough,” he added.
However, he returned in 2024 for “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” During a red-carpet interview ahead of the film’s premiere, Carrey was asked why he had returned to the franchise after suggesting he was done with acting, prompting him to joke that he needed the money.
“I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch. And, you know, it’s just … I bought a lot of stuff, and I need the money, frankly,” he told the Associated Press.
Jim Carrey Explains What His Hollywood Break Taught Him

He later told E! News that he stepped back from Hollywood to give people a break from seeing his face, adding that the time away helped him find a new level of appreciation for his craft.
“I think whenever you step away from something—even if it’s something you love—you get a new appreciation for it,” he said at the time. “A different angle on the whole thing.”
“I also value getting out of people’s faces,” he added. “I mean, some people just want to be in people’s faces all the time, and I don’t, so I like to give them a rest.”

Netflix Cancelled Its Best ‘Stranger Things’ Replacement After Just 10 Episodes
There was never going to be another Stranger Things. Netflix could find another group of teenagers, throw them into another supernatural mystery, and surround them with all the nostalgic needle drops it wanted, but Hawkins worked because those ingredients were never really the point. For all the monsters, government conspiracies, and trips into the Upside Down, Stranger Things became a phenomenon because we cared about the kids walking into danger together.
That is what made finding its successor so difficult. Plenty of shows have looked like Stranger Things on paper, from Locke & Key to I Am Not Okay With This, but recreating its premise is much easier than recreating the emotional investment that kept audiences coming back to Hawkins. Netflix actually had a series that understood the difference. Unfortunately, they canceled The Midnight Club after only 10 episodes.
‘The Midnight Club’ Understood What Made ‘Stranger Things’ Work
Mike Flanagan‘s The Midnight Club premiered in 2022, adapting Christopher Pike‘s 1994 novel alongside elements from several of the author’s other books. Its premise is considerably darker than Stranger Things. Eight terminally ill teenagers living at Brightcliffe Hospice meet every night at midnight to tell each other scary stories, eventually making a pact that whoever dies first will attempt to contact the others from beyond the grave. That setup gives The Midnight Club an obvious supernatural hook, but the ghosts aren’t what make it such a natural successor to Stranger Things. It’s the club itself. Ilonka (Iman Benson), Kevin (Igby Rigney), Anya (Ruth Codd), Spencer (Chris Sumpter), Natsuki (Aya Furukawa), Amesh (Sauriyan Sapkota), Sandra (Annarah Cymone), and Cheri (Adia) become compelling because The Midnight Club gives them room to simply exist together. They fight, flirt, joke, tell stories, hurt each other, and gradually become the people capable of understanding one another in ways almost nobody outside Brightcliffe can. Their circumstances are extraordinary, but their relationships aren’t. Stranger Things always operated on a similar principle. The Demogorgon might get Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven into the same story, but watching those friendships develop is what makes the danger matter. Hawkins continually gets bigger, stranger, and more apocalyptic, yet its best moments remain remarkably intimate. We care about what happens to the world because we care about the people trying to save it. The Midnight Club understood that horror becomes much more effective once an audience has something to lose.
Flanagan’s series also had an advantage that would have helped it stand apart from Stranger Things instead of becoming a lesser imitation. Death isn’t an abstract threat at Brightcliffe. Every member of the Midnight Club knows they are dying. A ghost lurking in a hallway can be terrifying, but so can a doctor’s appointment. The possibility of an afterlife isn’t merely another supernatural mystery for these characters to solve, they desperately need to know whether something waits for them on the other side. That makes the show’s central mystery inseparable from its characters. Every strange occurrence at Brightcliffe carries emotional weight because these kids have a reason to believe in it, fear it, or reject it.
Netflix Never Let ‘The Midnight Club’ Become What It Could Have Been
The most frustrating part of The Midnight Club’s cancellation is that Season 1 was clearly only the beginning. Unlike The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, or The Fall of the House of Usher, the series wasn’t conceived as another one-and-done Flanagan story. There were mysteries deliberately left unresolved because there was supposed to be more. After Netflix canceled the show, Flanagan even revealed what he had planned for Season 2. The continuation would have answered the show’s biggest lingering questions while incorporating Christopher Pike’s Remember Me into the stories told by the club. Ilonka and Kevin’s apparent past-life connection would have been explained, Dr. Stanton’s connection to the Paragon would have been revealed, and the mysterious shadow haunting Brightcliffe would have received an answer far more emotional than audiences might have expected.
‘The Midnight Club’ Could Have Kept Reinventing Itself
Most importantly, the Midnight Club itself would have continued changing. That was the show’s greatest opportunity. Brightcliffe created a natural way for characters to leave and new teenagers to arrive without abandoning the emotional core of the series. Death could permanently reshape the group, while every new resident brought another life, another fear, and potentially another Christopher Pike story into the club. The Midnight Club had effectively built a horror series capable of evolving without losing the thing that made it work, but Netflix only gave it ten episodes. That decision looks even more frustrating now that Stranger Things has ended. Netflix spent years searching for another young-adult genre phenomenon, but one of its most promising candidates was already sitting on the service. The Midnight Club didn’t need an Upside Down or another Eleven to fill the space Stranger Things would eventually leave behind. It had something much more valuable: an ensemble worth becoming attached to and a supernatural mystery that actually meant something to the people trying to solve it.
Maybe The Midnight Club never would have become another global phenomenon. Almost nothing does. But replacing Stranger Things was never going to mean reproducing its exact level of success or copying everything that made Hawkins recognizable. Netflix needed another horror series that could make audiences fall in love with a group of young characters before asking them to follow those characters into the dark. The Midnight Club already knew how to do that, we just never got to see how good it could become.

Where Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith Stand After Divorce
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith have remained close friends in the decade after their divorce.
“If not my best friend, [Melanie is] one of my best friends,” Banderas, 65, told People about his ex-wife, 68, in an interview published Thursday, August 6. “When I go to Los Angeles, we get together anyway; we [have] a lot of fun. We laugh and … it’s a very healthy thing, and it was very healthy for our kids.”
Banderas and Griffith were married from 1996 to 2014. They share daughter Stella, 29. (Griffith is also mom of sons Jesse, 43, and Alexander, 40, as well as daughter Dakota, 36, from previous relationships.)
Even as a divorced couple, Banderas and Griffith always worked to remain amicable for their blended family’s sake.
“But the thing is that, when we were as [a] couple [or] when we separated, we were always very sincere,” the Tony actor told the outlet. “We came out of our relationship in a nice way that was very important for [the kids] and for us.”
According to Banderas, Griffith is “an unbelievable mother” and their brood is “blossoming and becoming good people” into adulthood.

Both before and after his divorce, Banderas has been especially close to Dakota, Griffith’s daughter with actor Don Johnson.
“I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water,’” Dakota told Bustle in a 2024 profile. “The actual saying is ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to. Equally as important, if not more.”
She continued at the time, “I have four brothers and two sisters, and my two sisters are not blood-related to each other, but they are sisters and they call each other sisters and they are always together. And my two older brothers are not blood-related to each other, and they are brothers.”
Dakota further stressed that their unit will always “be a family” to her siblings regardless of divorce.
“It’s really real, and most of us are artists. Even in my adult life and my new family, most of us are artists. Even the kids, they’re extraordinarily talented people,” she stated. “You just are dealing with complex people. You grow and you embrace and you say, ‘F*** you and f*** off,’ and then, ‘I love you, come back.’ I think because I grew up in it, it’s come more naturally, but I wouldn’t have it any other way really. I really wouldn’t. I love it.”

Days of our Lives: Brady Revolted After Uncovering Kristen’s Hideous Secret!
Days of Our Lives finds that Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) absolutely devastated to find out that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) planted drugs in her bag to frame her. And Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) is now on the loose after escaping from EJ’s plot to send her away forever. Plus, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) is going to need to do some serious damage control.
Days of Our Lives: Holly Learns the Horrible Truth
All right, so let’s talk about the betrayal that Holly’s about to experience this week when she finds out the truth. So, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) is going to tell Holly that the pills that were found in her bag were planted there by EJ. And Holly’s going to feel absolutely crushed and betrayed. She never would have expected that her mom’s boyfriend would do something that dirty.
But you know, Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) figured it out. We saw him piecing together the clues. And he was going to go to Holly and tell her everything. But then he backed off and told Sarah instead. And Sarah knows because Xander has evidence that EJ planted the pills in Holly’s bag, and now Sarah has to be the one to break the news to Holly that her mom’s boyfriend framed her.
Holly’s going to be absolutely devastated. And understandably so. Because Holly thought that EJ loved her mom Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), but if he did, he would never have put her daughter through this nightmare. Holly got arrested and went to jail. Holly could have gone to prison.
And all because EJ wanted to frame his ex-girlfriend, for having drugs so he could remove her from the picture and keep her from exposing his crimes. So, once Holly finds out what EJ did, she’s going to feel the sting of betrayal. And I’m sure Holly’s going to want some revenge on EJ for what he’s done to her.
Kristen’s Escape and Brady’s Problem on DOOL
But more pressing is the situation with Kristen who has just escaped from EJ’s plan to lock her away on an island. So, when EJ found Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) in the cargo container instead of Kristen, he decided to go ahead and bring Lexie home to the mansion where he could take care of her as she’s dying.
But what that means is that Kristen escaped the shipping container scheme and now she’s somewhere in Salem running free. And Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote) is vulnerable because her mother is out there. Now, Kristen has already been in contact with Rachel, pretending to be Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk).
So, this puts Brady in a really tough spot because he knows his ex-girlfriend Kristen is out there loose and he knows his daughter Rachel needs protection. And I’m sure Brady’s going to be on high alert now.
Days of Our Lives: Brady Hunts Kristen Down
Brady and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) are going to be trying to find Kristen. And they’re probably going to be working with the ISA or other law enforcement to track her down. But in the meantime, Kristen is out there doing who knows what. She might try to kidnap her daughter Rachel. Or She might try to disappear with her on Days of our Lives.
She might try and take her to a remote location. The possibilities are endless and all of them are terrifying for Brady. So, I could see Brady wanting to get Rachel out of Salem and maybe send her to stay with Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) or another family member for safe keeping. Because if Kristen’s out there loose, Rachel needs to be somewhere safe where Kristen can’t get to her.

EJ’s Criminal Mess on Days
Also, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is going to be investigating EJ for the pill planting scheme. And Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) is going to find out what his big brother EJ did and he’s probably not going to be happy about it. Also, we know that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) wrote a confession letter that implicates both her and EJ in their crimes together.
And now Rafe and the ISA want to get Gwen back to Salem to testify against EJ so he can be prosecuted. And EJ is aware of this threat and he’s going to be nervous. Gwen is supposed to come back from Alamania with Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and help Rafe bring down EJ.
But the problem is EJ’s been hiding Lexie at the mansion. And once word gets out that Lexie is dying and she’s been holed up at the DiMera mansion this whole time, everyone’s going to be upset with EJ. Especially Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews).
They’ve been kept in the dark about Lexie’s condition. And once they find out EJ’s been harboring dying Lexie without telling them, they’re going to be furious. And that could put EJ in an even worse position legally and personally.
EJ in Bad Shape on Days of Our Lives
So, EJ’s got a lot of problems stacking up. He’s got Rafe investigating him. He’s got Gwen about to come back to testify against him. And he’s got Kristen loose and causing chaos. He’s got Holly wanting revenge on him for framing her. And he’s got Abe and Theo about to find out that he’s been keeping dying Lexie a secret from them.
In the end, I think EJ’s going to have to make some tough decisions about whether he’s going to come clean about everything he’s done or whether he’s going to continue to lie and cover things up.
And based on EJ’s track record, I think we know which way he’s going to lean. But the walls are closing in on him and it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. So, we’ll have to see how EJ manages all of this chaos and whether he can survive the coming storm.

Dorit and PK Kemsley’s Divorce Is a ‘Battle of the Evidence’
This week on Legally Us, Rachael Bennett, a certified family law specialist and senior attorney at Sullivan Law & Associates, breaks down Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s contentious divorce.
In court documents obtained by Us on July 27, Dorit, 50, alleged that PK, 58, is trying to “egregiously misuse Family Code 2108” in an attempt to “side-step trial” and continue to allegedly forgo making their mortgage payments, claiming his alleged attempts would render both her and their shared children without a home. She also claimed that PK promised to pay their family’s bills after he moved out of their shared home in 2024 in lieu of child support.
PK then filed new court documents on July 30 denying Dorit’s recent motion and alleged that Dorit hasn’t made any payment for the mortgages, only covering certain costs for utilities and staff payroll. PK also claimed that Dorit’s expenses, totaling $900,000 for wardrobe, are not required in her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills contract.
Dorit denied spending the amount, explaining that many of the designer items were returned. However, she disclosed in a court declaration that she spent approximately $217,000 on her wardrobe for season 15.

“If PK can provide the court with a copy of the Real Housewives contract to show that there’s nothing in there requiring her to purchase specific clothing items or maintain a high-end luxury look, then he may be able to convince a judge that she is an excessive spender and that she shouldn’t be trusted to maintain the house,” Bennett tells Us. “For Dorit, her strongest claim is that the parties had a pre-existing agreement that PK would pay the mortgage instead of paying her under like a formal child support order, and if she can prove that, it takes the blame off of her for the foreclosure, and I think it’ll give the court a much more common sense explanation as to why the mortgage is so behind.”
She adds, “I would expect her to be able to show emails or texts reflecting their agreement, as well as proof that PK initially followed the agreement before the mortgage fell behind. It’s a battle of the evidence at this point.”
PK has expressed his desire to sell the home, arguing that an immediate, court-ordered sale of the property is necessary to preserve the remaining equity in the home. Dorit asked the judge to deny his request.
“The court can absolutely force the sale of a family home while a divorce is still pending, but the judge has to have a really good reason to do it,” Bennett explains. “The most typical situation is if there’s some kind of a financial loss or risk of a financial loss. So where a house is in foreclosure and neither party is either willing or able to catch up the mortgage payments and keep it current, the court will step in and order the house be sold. It’s basically a protective mechanism to make sure that the couple’s assets don’t go to waste during the divorce process.”
PK and Dorit have been locked in a contentious divorce battle since April 2025, when Dorit filed to end their 10-year marriage. In the filing, she cited irreconcilable differences and requested sole legal and physical custody of their two children, son Jagger, 12, and daughter Phoenix, 9.

‘Yellowstone’ Star’s Criminally Underrated Western Officially Gets a Second Chance
2026 has been the year of Luke Grimes so far, who is installed as the lead in one of the biggest CBS shows of all time, Marshals. Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton in the Yellowstone spin-off, and despite record-low reception for a Taylor Sheridan-produced show, Marshals is coming back for Season 2. Long before he was working on Dutton Ranch, Grimes carved out a name for himself in a much different genre starring as Elliot Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movies, which made a fortune at the box office despite being maligned by critics and audiences. Grimes has leaned on his Yellowstone role heavily in recent years, but that hasn’t stopped him from picking up parts in other big movies with notable stars.
Last year, Grimes starred alongside Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix in one of the most polarizing movies of the year, Eddington. Writer/director Ari Aster has become a master at making movies that either resonate with audiences, or make them not want to come back to the theater for the rest of the year, and he tapped back into that chaotic dysfunction during the making of Eddington. The film cost only $25 million to make, but it still struggled at the box office, grossing only $13 million and still falling well short of its break-even point. Eddington, which also stars Emma Stone, has since found a streaming home on HBO Max in America, where it’s had several runs of success into the top 10. Overseas, however, the film has surged into the VOD top 10 on Apple TV in a few countries around the world where it’s not on HBO Max.
What Is ‘Eddington’ About?
The official synopsis for Eddington, which holds scores of 69% from critics and 66% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “In May 2020, a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) squares off against the town’s mayor (Pedro Pascal), igniting a powder keg that pits neighbor against neighbor in the isolated New Mexico town of Eddington. As pandemic paranoia, conspiracy theories, and political tension collide, an escalating standoff pushes the community to the brink.” Austin Butler, best known for his 2022 Oscar-nominated role in Elvis, also has a key role in Eddington. The 2025 Western was Aster’s first film after he teamed up with Joaquin Phoenix for Beau Is Afraid.
Check out Eddington on HBO Max in America and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Luke Grimes’ future projects.
