George Clooney and wife Amal Clooney enjoyed a rare outing with their kids.

According to photos obtained by Page Six, the couple were spotted with their twins, Ella and Alexander, both 8, on a boat on Lake Como, Italy, on Tuesday, August 12. The family of four attended a benefit dinner for the Clooney Foundation for Justice at Villa Passalacqua.

George, 65, rocked a gray suit for the evening while Amal, 48, donned a floral black gown. Alexander looked dapper in a tan blazer, and Ella dazzled in a gold dress.

Since welcoming their twins in 2017, George and Amal, who wed in 2014, have kept their little ones out of the spotlight. Last year, the family of four obtained French citizenship and relocated to the countryside.

The Clooney clan has a ticket to paradise for the remainder of the summer.  George, 62, and Amal, 45, “are moving into their Lake Como house,” an insider exclusively shares in the newest issue of Us Weekly, noting that the couple’s twins, Ella and Alexander, 6, are particularly thrilled by the news. “They’re looking forward to playing […]

“You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it,” the actor said in an October 2025 interview with Esquire about wanting to leave Hollywood behind. “But now, for them, it’s like — they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.”

George confessed he had apprehensions about raising his kids in the limelight.

“I was worried about raising our kids in L.A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life,” he continued. “France — they kind of don’t give a s*** about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

Before becoming parents, George and Amal cofounded their foundation in 2016. According to the charity’s website, the organization’s goal is to provide “free legal aid in defense of free speech and women’s rights in over 40 countries.” Amal, who is originally from London, is a barrister, specializing in international law and human rights.

Earlier this year, Amal opened up about how her life changed once she met George.

George Clooney is forever in awe of wife Amal Clooney — he just doesn’t want her cooking their family dinners. “I’ll tell you what. My wife, [Amal], who is a brilliant lawyer, she’s one of the advocates of the world. She takes on Isis,” George, 62, told ExtraTV in a Tuesday, December 12, interview. “But […]

“I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix and then I got married and that changed quite a lot,” the lawyer said while speaking at the Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok in June, per People. “And at first I was kind of conscious of that one-dimensional view where I felt like, well, I can’t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I’m in front of a judge on Monday.”

Amal continued, “But you know it just doesn’t matter as much as living your life, and ultimately if you’re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not. I wouldn’t allow that factor to stop me from doing things that were important for my family or for my relationship. It was easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got. It was something new to navigate.”
