Gloss Up is sharing her progress with her fans mere weeks after she had major foot surgery. The recording artist was in a car accident in July 2026, and her foot was so damaged that she thought it had been amputated. However, a new video shared with fans shows her progress.

Gloss Up Shares Miraculous Footage Following Car Accident

Gloss Up, whose real name is Jerrica LaShay Russell, severely injured her foot in a car accident on Sunday, July 12. The Shade Room reported that the 29-year-old originally thought her foot had been amputated due to the graphic nature of the injury.

The ‘Shabooya‘ artist shared photographs of the damage on Instagram, and they are quite graphic. However, the rapper is on her feet now. Not only that, but the artist is seen walking unassisted in a new video shared on Threads, and the progress she’s made is amazing.

Gloss Up is pretty in pink in the clip as she struts her way through a parking lot in a pair of cozy slippers. Not only that, but the rapper also shared photographs of her impressive progress.

Fans React To Gloss Up’s Progress

Roomies reacted to the video on Instagram, and many were pleasantly surprised by the rapper’s progress. In addition, fans also noted the severity of the accident and subsequent injury.

Gloss Up Thought Her Foot Was Amputated After Car Accident

As mentioned, Russell thought her foot had already been amputated following the car accident, as reported by The Shade Room. She took to her Instagram Stories to share the news from her hospital room.

“I Almost Lost My Life,” wrote the artist. “Sadddddddd. I Have Never In My Life Been In A Car Accident Until Now… My Whole Foot Amputated! I’m SAD ASFFFF! It’s My Birthdayyyyy.”

However, her team later clarified that the surgeons were able to save Gloss Up’s foot.

“I wasn’t trying to mislead y’all when I said that my leg was amputated,” she said during a livestream, adding that after she left her car, her legwas danglin’.”

Gloss Up also shared what it was like for her in the moments leading up to her foot surgery with FOX 12 Memphis a few weeks after the accident. The recording artist recalled asking the doctors if they could save her foot. However, their response did not seem promising at the time.

“They cut my pants open. I’m like, ‘Are y’all gonna be able to save my foot?’ They just was looking like, ‘I don’t want to say yes or no,’” she recalled. “Like, I just, feel it like it was so weird. It feel like a movie.”
