Actor Colin Farrell has opened up about the heartbreaking decision to place his 21-year-old son, James, into a long-term care facility.
James, whom Colin shares with ex-partner Kim Bordenave, was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder, at the age of four.

The condition causes severe intellectual and developmental delays, as well as challenges with speech, balance, and movement.
Now, as James enters adulthood, the Banshees of Inisherin and Penguin actor has revealed that he and Kim have made the emotionally difficult decision to transition their son into long-term care while they are still able to guide the process.

Colin Farrell opens up about placing his son in long-term care
“It’s tricky,” Colin admitted to Candis Magazine. “Some parents will say: ‘I want to take care of my child myself.’ And I respect that.”
But for him, the decision is about securing James’ future.

“My horror would be… what if I have a heart attack tomorrow, and, God forbid, James’ mother, Kim, has a car crash and she’s taken too? And then James is on his own? Then he’s a ward of the state, and he goes where? We’d have no say in it.”
Instead, Colin and Kim want to make sure James ends up somewhere that feels safe, connected, and full of life.
Colin explained that they are hoping to “find somewhere we like where he can go now, while we’re still alive and healthy. We can go and visit, and we can take him out sometimes.”

Colin’s vision for James’ future goes far beyond institutional care.
“We want him to find somewhere where he can have a full and happy life, where he feels connected,” he shared.
“He needs a bigger life than we can afford him. By having a sense of community that he feels connected to. By going out in the van every day and going to the supermarket and doing the shopping together, by going to the beach, museums, movies, all that stuff. Just a connected life.”

‘I want the world to treat him with kindness’
Colin has long been vocal about his son’s condition. He has also spoken about the need for society to be more inclusive and understanding of those with intellectual disabilities.
Speaking to People magazine last summer, the Oscar-nominated actor issued a heartfelt plea. “I want the world to be kind to James. I want the world to treat him with kindness and respect.”
He also highlighted a major issue families face once their children age out of the education system.
“Once your child turns 21, they’re kind of on their own. All the safeguards that are put in place, special ed classes, that all goes away. So you’re left with a young adult who should be an integrated part of our modern society, and more often than not is left behind.”

To help change that narrative, Farrell launched the Colin Farrell Foundation.
The foundation is “committed to transforming the lives of individuals and families living with intellectual disability through education, awareness, advocacy, and innovative programs.”
As he and Kim take steps to secure a future where James can thrive independently within a supportive community, Colin’s message is a reminder of the long-term challenges faced by families caring for loved ones with special needs.

Eddie himself spilled the tea — his son, Eric Murphy (from ex Paulette McNeely), and Jasmin Lawrence (Martin’s daughter with ex Patricia Southall) secretly tied the knot almost two weeks ago.

Eddie dished on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” that while the families were ready to plan an extravagant wedding, the lovebirds opted for a low-key, intimate ceremony – just the two of them, a church, and a preacher.

He also joked it was a relief for Martin as there were no wedding bills to foot now — which has been an ongoing joke between the two stars about who’s going to pick up the tab for the big day.

As we reported… Martin’s daughter, Jasmin, and Eddie’s son, Eric, got engaged the day before Thanksgiving after three years of bliss.
The musician will release Virgin on June 27 with lead singles “What Was That” and “Man of the Year,” as well as new tracks including “Broken Glass,” “Current Affairs,” “Shapeshifter,” and more

Lorde is packing her forthcoming studio album, Virgin, with visceral feelings. She recently described the lyrics on the record, out June 27, as being “right on the edge of gross,” leaning into the “grotesque nature” of garnering an intimate understanding of her body. With the record still a few weeks away, Lorde has painted some vivid descriptions of the “gnarliness or grossness” she explores with the complete 11-song album track list.
The two songs that have been released from Virgin so far, the spinning pop record “What Was That” and the more gritty single “Man of the Year,” appear on the first half of the track list, staggered in between currently unreleased songs. “Hammer” opens the record, while Lorde gives more texture to the album with other titles like “Shapeshifter,” “Broken Glass,” “Clearblue,” and more.

There’s a personal edge to some of the titles, too. “Favourite Daughter” follows “Man of the Year” at the mid-way mark. The second half of the album also features songs titled “If She Could See Me Now” and “David.” Even “GRWM,” popular shorthand for “Get Ready With Me,” situates the listener in an acute and particular awareness of the body and how it can be dressed up, or down, on the basis of its title alone.

“[I’ve] been in the same body [my] whole life,” Lorde said in her Rolling Stone cover story. “I understood it. I was like, ‘These arms climbed the jungle gym. And they held an award on a TV show.’ I understood the whole spectrum of it and began to enjoy the complexity and ruggedness.” With this came an introspective shift. “My gender got way more expansive when I gave my body more room,” she said.

America’s Got Talent’s highly-anticipated Season 20 officially arrived on the 2025 TV schedule on Tuesday. But before each act can hit the stage, they have to go through a rigorous casting process to get there. When CinemaBlend attended the open call auditions in Pasadena, California a couple of months ago, we learned how the judges connect to the process.
It was a blast to tune in with our live blog of the premiere earlier this week, where we saw everything from a guy chugging jars of pickle juice and hot sauce to a breathtaking light, tech, and dance show that earned the first Golden Buzzer of the season and had Simon Cowell in awe. But how do Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara affect who’s chosen to be on stage? Here’s what casting producer Meg MacGregor told us:
The truth is they like to not know anything. They don’t wanna know what’s coming out next. They wanna be able to watch it just like the viewers do. They always want to see genuine people, too. It’s a short amount of time that the acts have on the stage to even talk to the judges. So I think what they really encourage, along with the producers of the show, is help us get to know the act quickly.
Sonja Morgan Pays Off $20K Bill After Being Accused of Skipping Out on Payment!
Sonja Morgan is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Real Housewives of New YorkCity alum has been accused of stiffing a Brooklyn-based HVAC company out of nearly $20,000—just months after being reportedly blacklisted from a trendy Manhattan eatery over a $1,000 unpaid tab.

Expert Appliance Group Inc. claims it installed HVAC equipment at Sonja’s former NYC townhouse in February 2024 and was initially paid via Zelle through ChaseBank. But more than a year later, the company says Chase reversed the entire transaction, leaving the business empty-handed and confused.
“There were no complaints, no explanation—the money was just gone,” a company rep told Page Six, adding that the Chase claims department was “disrespectful” and failed to review documents or contact the business before reversing the payment.
Frustrated and out of pocket, the company turned to Page Six after receiving no response from Morgan despite multiple calls and emails. Once contacted, Sonja responded, insisting she had indeed paid for the services rendered and that what happened afterward was beyond her control.

“Had [the owner] simply texted me – as we’ve always done – to say the [payment] had been reversed, I would have addressed it immediately,” Sonja explained. Following Page Six’s inquiry, the money was reportedly returned to Expert Appliance by Chase, but the company says it is now rethinking its relationship with the bank.
“We are in the process of reevaluating our relationship with Chase Bank,” the company shared.
The incident comes on the heels of another public snafu involving Sonja and NoHo hotspot Tucci. In May, she was accused of walking out on a nearly $1,000 dinner bill, sparking a public statement from the restaurant’s owner, Max Tucci, who said he had to break his personal rule of “welcoming everyone.”

Sonja, however, chalked the situation up to a simple mix-up. “I, of course, offered to pay and tip, and I did when they finally called me back on Monday,” she told PEOPLE.
Despite the drama, Sonja maintains she resolved both matters once she was made aware. But with lawsuits, reversed transactions, and restaurant bans all swirling at once, it’s clear the former RHONY star is facing more than just reality TV-level tension.
