HBO and A24’s Wild New 4-Part American Docuseries Is Unlike Any Other Weekend Binge

Trever Yeakley in Neighbors Episode 2

A24 has been responsible for some of the most exciting projects to hit our screens in recent years. They’ve had a hand in television projects as wide-ranging as Ramy and Euphoria to Beef and Hazbin Hotel. Now the production company has teamed up with Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie, and Eli Bush to bring you a docuseries that is surely unlike anything you’ve seen before. While Safdie and Bronstein are still currently on a high after bringing us Marty Supreme, this new project of theirs is just as compelling.

What Is ‘Neighbors’ About?

Neighbors first premiered on February 13 and is already becoming one of the most original series on the HBO Max platform. The dramatic docuseries follows real-life disputes between neighbors, and each episode allows you to get to know two separate cases that are ongoing. The first episode features neighbors in Montana who are feuding over the use of a gate between their properties. Their fight has even gone to the courts because they can’t talk to each other without spewing threats. But these aren’t your average neighbors; one man is an odd, gun-toting conspiracy theorist, and the other has gone viral for his woodworking videos and cosplay involving a samurai sword. Yes, it’s as wild as it sounds.

The other case in Episode 1 involves an area of Florida shoreline where a wealthy resident demands that his section of the beach be completely devoid of locals. The heated debate between beachgoers and this clueless rich guy only escalates when a First Amendment Rights activist also decides to get involved — and all of that just happens in the first 30-minute episode. By diving into two cases in each installment, Neighbors provides an in-depth look at what can happen when a person feels like their entitlements are getting threatened.

HBO and A24’s ‘Neighbors’ Is a Bizarre and Kooky Ride

Neighbors is definitely one of those shows where truth is certainly stranger than fiction. There are a lot of big personalities present, and most of the people profiled are genuinely eccentric. Several of the producers got the idea for the series after becoming obsessed with viral videos of neighbors feuding, which got increasingly heated during the COVID-19 pandemic. While frustrating to these homeowners, it has gifted us with footage that is both wildly weird and endlessly captivating. Neighbors is also unintentionally hysterical most of the time. Although it’s likely these people aren’t being funny on purpose, their circumstances are inherently absurd, and they often don’t seem to notice how ridiculous they sound when discussing their beefs.

You shouldn’t go into Neighbors expecting a ton of closure. Some of the cases being presented are ongoing, but this only adds to the realism of the series. Many of these neighbor disputes will go on forever (typically until someone moves), so some of the stories are open-ended, but that doesn’t prevent each episode from being a must-watch. Plus, if you think of yourself as quirky, Neighbors also has the ability to make you feel like the most normal person ever. At least you’re not fighting with your neighbor because you own dozens of cats or are raising livestock in the front yard of your suburban home. All of these disputes show the fireworks that can happen when people feel like their inalienable rights or their homes are being invaded, making Neighbors a fascinating watch from start to finish.

Each episode starts out with a visual in space, and then hones in on an exact place in the United States. This is a fantastic reminder of how insignificant many of these fights can seem when you look at them with a broader perspective. All of these arguments in the scheme of things are not that important, but they cause so much anguish for the people involved, and this heightened sense of drama is what makes Neighbors so fun to watch.

Will Bridgerton Recast Phoebe Dynevor, Rege-Jean Page After Long Absence?

Published

on

Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell broke her silence about if Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page are at risk of being recast.

“We are not interested in recasting the characters,” Brownell told Variety on Thursday, February 26. “I think it would feel like a disservice to everything Regé and Phoebe set up in season 1, and all the beautiful work they put into those characters.”

Brownell didn’t rule out an onscreen return for them.

“We would love to potentially have them back at some point, but I think, logistically, we want to make sure we bring them back when we have something really meaty for them,” she continued. “And to have them come back to say a line at a funeral [in season 4] and just prove that they were there, it wouldn’t feel right for many reasons.”

Bridgerton quickly became a fan favorite after debuting on Netflix in 2020, but not all of the show’s cast members chose to stick around. The historical drama, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, follows the members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. […]

She concluded: “So I think in my mind, the camera doesn’t capture everything. They’re hypothetically there [this season] — it’s television. But we would love to find a time to bring everyone back at some point in the future.”

Bridgerton, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, follows the members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Season 1 focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Dynevor) unexpected connection with Simon Basset (Page).

After the show premiered, viewers fell in love with Page, 38, and his character, which made his departure that much more shocking. Netflix announced in April 2021 that Page would not be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings despite plans for Daphne to appear in future seasons.

That same month, Page noted that Simon had always been pitched to him as a condensed role, telling Variety, “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end — give us a year. [I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”

After playing Simon Basset in Bridgerton‘s first season, Regé-Jean Page explained that he was ready to move on — but is his decision permanent? Viewers quickly fell in love with Page and his character, the Duke of Hastings, when season 1 of the Netflix drama premiered in December 2020. His streamy onscreen romance with Phoebe […]

Page stood by his decision even though fans have publicly voiced their disappointment about not getting to see more of Simon’s story. Season 2 still featured several appearances from Daphne, who was accompanied by her and Simon’s son, Auggie.

However, Dynevor, 30, later confirmed her own exit from the series, which didn’t appear to be her choice. “Sadly [I’m] not in season 3. Potentially in the future. But season 3, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer,” she told Screen Rant in January 2023 about not being called back to film.

Other former Bridgerton leads, including Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, also had very minimal screen time since their seasons came to an end.

Bridgerton is currently streaming on Netflix.

Robert Cosby Previously Told His Mother That He Was Using Hard Drugs For A Specific Reason

Robert’s death hit Bravo viewers hard, considering the young adult bravely spoke with his mother, Mary, about his struggles during a season 5 episode of “RHOSLC.” During their conversation, both Robert and Mary broke down in tears when he admitted he was using drugs such as “Xanax” to help add “seasoning to [my life].”

After some time, though, the drugs Robert began using intensified.

“Then, I started doing Xanax with Acid, and then Molly with Xanax,” he told Mary. “I really like Xanax, so I mix it with everything. Xanax and cocaine. You know the regular 30mg Oxys? I noticed … this was, like, a turning point for me. I was taking 10 at once, and I couldn’t even feel it,” he said.

Mary Cosby’s Son Was Released From Jail Shortly Before His Death After Reportedly Violating A Protective Order

Robert’s death comes weeks after he was released from a Utah jail after reportedly violating a protective order between him and his ex-wife. During the “RHOSLC” season 6 reunion, Mary discussed Robert’s legal troubles, explaining that his run-in with the law stemmed from his unwillingness to listen.

“He went back anyway thinking that she wants him to come back and save her. I don’t know where he’s getting that from, delusional,” Mary said. “Every time he’d go back over there, they’d call the police and they’d arrest him.”

According to Page Six, Robert was taken into custody in November 2025 after allegedly getting into an altercation with his ex-wife’s father and a Salt Lake City police officer.

Robert’s lawyer, Clayton Simms, previously described his time in jail as a “blessing,” revealing it had given Robert a chance to “sober up.”

“He’s looking forward to doing positive things. The difficulty is that he was slow to recognize the dissolution of his marriage. But now he understands the relationship is over, and he’s moving forward,” Simms added.

Ridley Scott’s Ahead-of-Its-Time War Movie Returns 3 Decades After Dividing Critics

Published

on

G.I. Jane (1997)

Perhaps Ridley Scott‘s greatest impact on the landscape of cinema has been on sci-fi, with his genre-defining masterpieces Alien and Blade Runner. That’s not to dismiss what the four-time Oscar nominee has accomplished outside the genre, though. He conquered the historical epic with his classic film Gladiator and created a gripping war movie with 2001’s Black Hawk Down. His ideas aren’t always successful, but he’s consistently managed to marry large-scale, ambitious thrills with deeper themes of identity, corporate greed, and political corruption.

In 1997, Scott would apply this same approach to the Demi Moore-led war action thriller, G.I. Jane. The film tells the fictional story of Lieutenant Jordan O’Neill, a topographical analyst who is suddenly selected to be the first woman to train in a special forces program akin to the U.S. Navy SEALs. Facing extreme sexism in a gruelling program she was set up to fail, she strives under her unfairly punishing commander, John James Urgayle (Viggo Mortensen), to break her limits and shatter the expectations placed on her by the institution around her. Critics and audiences were divided about the result, and it was met with a more middling $98.4 million box office against a budget of $50 million, yet it has since gotten a bit more love by some as a flawed film that was still ahead of its time in its message. Moore herself has been a vocal defender of the story for how it challenged gender norms, telling Vanity Fair in 2024, “I think the film really holds up. I hear it a lot from people. I think that Ridley made a really thoughtful, intelligent film that really tackled the subject matter.”

Now, nearly three decades later, Peacock is giving subscribers a chance to revisit the film and judge it on its merits. G.I. Jane is due to arrive on the platform on March 1, alongside a wide range of big new additions, including Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Beekeeper, and Friday the 13th. In addition to Moore and Mortensen, Scott’s film also featured the talents of, among others, Jason Beghe, Scott Wilson, Anne Bancroft, Morris Chestnut, and Lucinda Jenney. Riddick and The Fugitive scribe David Twohy penned the script with Danielle Alexandra, who wrote the story.

Demi Moore and Ridley Scott Will Be Back in Theaters in 2026

Moore was last seen on the big screen in 2024 with The Substance, an instant horror classic that nearly won the actress her first Oscar and powerfully tackled the pressures women face about their bodies, particularly as they grow older. After returning to Landman for Season 2 last year, though, she’ll be back in theaters in three months on May 22 with Boots Riley‘s latest film, I Love Boosters. Scott also has a busy year ahead, with his new film, The Dog Stars, led by Jacob Elordi, set to release on August 28. Adapted from Peter Heller‘s novel, the film is set in the aftermath of a deadly pandemic that has devastated humanity, as a pilot named Hig (Elordi) and his gruff marine companion (Josh Brolin) live in relative isolation, until a mysterious transmission gives them hope of finding other survivors.

G.I. Jane arrives on Peacock on March 1. Stay tuned here at Collider for more on all the biggest films coming to and leaving streaming throughout the year.

The View’ Guest Host Pulls Back the Curtains on Workings of Show

Published

Savannah Chrisley at the 2024 Republican National Convention — Day 2

While “The View” may look polished on screen, so much more is going on behind the scenes, and guest co-host Sara Eisen is spilling.

With Alyssa Farah Griffin out on maternity leave, the Hot Topics table has welcomed a rotation of substitutes, including Eisen.

The “Squawk on the Street” anchor is now detailing her experience on the broadcast, gushing about how seamless the show appears even though it is raw and unscripted.

Sara Eisen Details Inner Workings of ‘The View’

On her second day subbing in for Griffin, Eisen shared insight on what it is like at the table, admitting it’s not exactly what she expected as a longtime viewer.

When Joy Behar asked whether she was enjoying herself, the CNBC anchor didn’t hesitate to share. “First of all, you guys are all wonderful and gracious. It’s a pleasure to be here, as someone who’s watched the show forever,” the 41-year-old said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Eisen described the opportunity as a “treat,” saying it allowed her to speak freely about a range of topics. Sunny Hostin then asked whether the reality of the show matched Eisen’s expectations.

“I love how spontaneous it is and how authentic it is,” the business journalist responded. “And how we’re prepared and we’re read-in, but not scripted. It looks very perfect when you watch it on TV, but anything can happen out here.”

Eisen admired her colleague’s ability to perform without earpieces, which sparked a playful jab from Ana Navarro: “Even when Joy does get cued in her ear, she just ignores it.”

Eisen isn’t the only guest co-host to step in during Griffin’s absence. Savannah Chrisley also joined the panel and spoke about her time on the show, thanking the panel for giving her a platform to share differing opinions.

Savannah Chrisley Accused Of Auditioning For A Political Position

Chrisley’s brief stint on the table did not go without backlash. As The Blast reported, the February 19 episode featured Chrisley, Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg in an argument over Donald Trump.

Goldberg argued that the president has sent “mixed messages” during Black History Month, citing his stance on DEI initiatives and past racist actions.

However, Chrisley countered her, saying she had personally seen Trump’s positive side and finds it hard to see people call him “racist.” She then pointed out Trump’s support of a longtime Black employee.

Hostin pushed back, saying Trump’s behavior still amounted to racism, while Goldberg highlighted examples such as Trump sharing offensive posts about Barack and Michele Obama.

Chrisley’s defense of the U.S. leader drew criticism from fans, and one even accused her of “auditioning for the White House press secretary.”

Jenny McCarthy Rejects The Idea of Returning To The Hot Topics Table

With Chrisley’s guest-host run now over, more familiar faces, including former co-host Abby Huntsman, are expected to fill in for Griffin in the months to come. However, one thing is for sure: past panelist Jenny McCarthy won’t be reclaiming a seat at the table.

McCarthy appeared on the daytime talk show from 2013 to 2014, but she has firmly ruled out ever returning, even after producers reportedly reached out.

During an appearance on “The Katie Miller Podcast” last month, McCarthy reflected candidly on her experience, admitting it was far from positive.

As The Blast reported, McCarthy explained that producers initially hired her to provide light-hearted commentary. However, they quickly shifted toward political discussions, which left her feeling unprepared at the time.

McCarthy added that she was asked to return for the reunion, but her reaction was, “over her dead body.”
