HBO Max’s 2-Part Sci-Fi Prequel Is Taking Over the World Again
In the next couple of weeks, two of the biggest movies of the year will make their theatrical debuts. First is Christopher Nolan‘s ambitious adaptation of Homer‘s historical epic The Odyssey, which will star the likes of Jon Bernthal, Tom Holland, and Zendaya. Then, on July 31, the MCU is back with the latest from your Friendly Neighborhood superhero, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day debuts, also starring Bernthal, Holland, and Zendaya.
The latter of the aforementioned trio — recently wrapped up the final season of her controversial, boundary-pushing series Euphoria and earned an Emmy nomination in the process — is also starring in yet another of the year’s biggest movies, set to release on December 18 on the same date as Avengers: Doomsday. The film in question is Dune: Part Three, the final installment in Denis Villeneuve‘s acclaimed adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s Dune novels, which is sure to be yet another critical and commercial smash, following the enormous success of Parts 1 and 2.
This sci-fi trilogy’s explosive climax will feature Zendaya as Chani, alongside a star-studded cast, of course led by serial Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, as he faces the consequences of his power, two decades after seizing control of the Imperium. The star-studded cast also includes Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Jason Momoa as Hayt, and many more. Villeneuve’s movie, which is penned by Brian K. Vaughan sold out select IMAX 70mm tickets within minutes of going on sale, indicating just how hotly anticipated the threequel is. To get in the mood, the many millions of Dune fans have turned their attention to the only TV series in Villeneuve’s Dune universe so far.
‘Dune: Prophecy’ Is a Streaming Hit
At the time of writing, the controversial six-episode slow-burn that is Dune: Prophecy is one of the ten most-streamed shows on HBO Max in the world, a list unsurprisingly topped by HBO’s current biggest series, House of the Dragon. The two sisters from House Harkonnen, Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams), and their struggle to maintain power and influence is not over yet, with it confirmed that Season 2 of the series is going ahead, with Indira Varma, Tom Hollander, and Ashley Walters added to a burgeoning new cast.
Dune: Prophecy is streaming now on HBO Max. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Laura Dern’s Emotional Tribute To Sam Neill After Sudden Death
Tributes continue to pour in following the sudden death of Sam Neill, with “Jurassic Park” co-star Laura Dern offering an emotional reflection on the friendship they built over decades both on and off screen. While audiences around the world knew Neill as paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant and Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler, the pair’s connection extended far beyond the blockbuster franchise that made them household names.
In one of the most heartfelt tributes shared since Neill’s passing, Dern remembered the actor not simply as a co-star but as one of her closest lifelong friends. Her comments arrived as fans continue processing the shock of Sam Neill’s death at age 78, just months after the actor publicly revealed he was cancer-free and looking forward to future projects.

Dern reflected on Neill’s character, humor, and unwavering loyalty in a statement released following news of his death. “Sam was my beloved lifetime friend,” she told PEOPLE. “He showed me the depths of loyalty, protectiveness and love always with the driest of wit.”
She continued by describing Neill as “a true and noble gentleman” and paid tribute to the actor who famously portrayed her on-screen love interest in the “Jurassic Park” franchise. “He was a true and noble gentleman, wrapped up in my dream leading man. I will love you forever, Dr. Alan Grant.”
Neill Had Recently Celebrated A Major Health Milestone

The outpouring of grief has been intensified by the fact that Neill had recently shared encouraging news about his health. Earlier this year, the actor revealed that scans showed no evidence of cancer following years of treatment for a rare form of blood cancer.
During an interview with Australia’s Channel Seven, Neill explained that traditional chemotherapy had eventually stopped working, leaving him facing an uncertain future. “I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out,” he recalled.
A breakthrough came through CAR T-cell therapy, an advanced treatment that genetically modifies a patient’s own immune cells to target cancer. After undergoing the procedure, Neill revealed that doctors could no longer detect cancer in his body. “I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body,” he said. “That’s an extraordinary thing.”
The Actor Was Looking Ahead To The Future

Perhaps the most heartbreaking aspect of Neill’s final interviews was how optimistic he appeared about what came next.
After learning he was cancer-free, the actor spoke openly about wanting to return to work and continue pursuing projects he loved. “It’s time I did another movie,” he said. The comments echoed sentiments he had previously shared while discussing his illness. Although Neill repeatedly said he was not afraid of death, he admitted he still hoped for many more years with his family.
Reflecting on his future, he spoke about wanting to watch his grandchildren grow up and see the vineyards, olive trees, and gardens he had spent years cultivating continue to mature. “I’d really like another decade or two,” he said.
Family Announces Sudden And Unexpected Death

Neill’s family confirmed his death Monday in a statement shared on Instagram. “It is with immense sadness that the whānau of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney, Australia,” the statement read.
The family described his death as “sudden and unexpected” and said he was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments. “More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss,” they added.
They also noted that he remained cancer-free at the time of his passing and thanked medical staff for their care.
Sam Neill Appeared In Good Spirits Weeks Before His Death

Just weeks before his death, Neill was seen enjoying a night out at the 2026 Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame Awards in Sydney. The beloved actor appeared in a smiling selfie shared to Instagram on June 11 alongside Australian singer and actress Kate Ceberano, who was being honored during the ceremony.
Neill also documented parts of the evening on social media, sharing behind-the-scenes photos with Australian music duo Vika and Linda Bull, New Zealand singer-songwriter Jenny Morris, and former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

3 Sleeper Hit Series You Need to Binge on Prime Video This Week
This week, the new Legally Blonde prequel series Elle is once again the number one show on Prime Video. Created by Laura Kittrell and starring Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, the series takes audiences back to the 1990s, following Elle as she goes through her teen years in Seattle, six years before her arrival at Harvard Law School. Executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, the show has proven quite popular with audiences, and it’s a must-watch for fans of the iconic film series. However, in case that’s not your cup of tea, there are still plenty of other options to explore on the streaming service. Here’s a look at three great shows that we think you should binge on Prime Video this week.
For more recommendations, check out our list of the best shows and movies on Prime Video.
1
‘Everybody Hates Chris’ (2005–2009)
A semi-autobiographical self-parody sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris was created by Chris Rock and Ali LeRoi, with Rock developing, writing, producing, and narrating the show. Inspired by his teen years growing up in Bedford–Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, New York City, the show follows a young Chris Rock (Tyler James Williams) and his family as they navigate life in the ’80s. Besides Williams, the series also stars Terry Crews, Tichina Arnold, Tequan Richmond, Imani Hakim, and Vincent Martella in notable roles.
When it first premiered in 2005, Everybody Hates Chris was widely acclaimed by both critics and viewers, and it went on to have four successful seasons in total, winning several accolades. Praised for its writing, direction, comedy, and performances, the series is a ridiculously funny coming-of-age sitcom that’s a must-watch for fans of Chris Rock’s work. It’s also a great nostalgic look back at 1980s New York, bringing out the iconic flavor and styles of the time (ironically, the real Chris Rock grew up in the ’70s, not the ’80s).
2
‘Bait’ (2026)
A six-part limited series, Bait was created by Riz Ahmed, who also stars in the lead role as a British-Pakistani actor who’s in the running to play the next James Bond. The role of a lifetime, it looks like the moment of his big break, but the actor soon faces intense backlash from both strangers and his own family. Besides Ahmed, the series also features Guz Khan, Aasiya Shah, Sheeba Chaddha, Sajid Hasan, Ritu Arya, Weruche Opia, Maxine Peake, Rafe Spall, Soni Razdan, Himesh Patel, Sian Clifford, Patrick Stewart, and more.
Riz Ahmed has played some truly intense dramatic roles over the years, but his comedic and highly meta turn in Bait is arguably one of his best performances yet. The series premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it was well-received by critics, and it went on to earn universal acclaim for its writing and performances. Taking a surreal yet insightful approach to its subject matter, Bait is a lot of fun and quite intelligent, making it one of the best shows of 2026 so far.
3
‘With Love’ (2021–2023)
Created by Gloria Calderón Kellett, With Love is a romantic comedy-drama show that revolves around siblings Lily and Jorge Diaz, played by Emeraude Toubia and Mark Indelicato, respectively. Set over the course of a year, the show follows the Diaz siblings as they deal with love, life, and family during the holidays. The series also features Isis King, Vincent Rodriguez III, Rome Flynn, Desmond Chiam, Benito Martinez, Constance Marie, and Todd Grinnell in supporting roles.
With Love is an underrated show that isn’t very widely discussed, even among Prime Video subscribers, but it was quite successful when it first premiered in 2021, earning near-perfect reviews. A heartwarming, feel-good series with relatable characters and engaging family dynamics, the show was renewed for a second season, which was also well-reviewed but flew under the radar. Canceled not long after that, With Love has become sadly forgotten these days, but it’s certainly worth revisiting for fans of warm and romantic stories.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Hints at Engagement Amid Zac Clark Rumors
Kaitlyn Bristowe is looking forward to the future as rumors about her relationship with Zac Clark continue to swirl.
“When I tell you, I went through a hoe phase in my 20s in Vancouver,” Kaitlyn, 41, quips in Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “I was a hoe.”
Kaitlyn jokes that she “got double hoe phases” because of her time on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
“Being in a relationship for that long sounds so nice,” Kaitlyn says, referring to podcast host Amanda, 37, having been in a relationship since her early 20s. “It’s exhausting out here.”
Kaitlyn has been linked to fellow Bachelor Nation alum Zac, 42, since January 2024, but neither of them have ever publicly confirmed that they’re together.
“Now, I’m on this third possible engagement,” Katilyn continues in the clip. “If I’m gonna finally talk about someone out loud after however long, I hope this is the person.”

Kaitlyn ended her Bachelorette season in 2015 engaged to Shawn Booth. They split three years later. She moved on with Jason Tartick, who she dated for two years before he proposed in 2021. By August 2023, they had split.
“My ego holds me back too because I’m like, ‘What if I’m just a failure again in a relationship?’” Kaitlyn says on the podcast, noting that her current relationship has allowed her to be a “better” girlfriend.
“I’ve realized a lot, over my last two [relationships],” Kaitlyn adds. “Not that I was a terrible girlfriend or fiancée.”
While neither Kaitlyn nor Zac have confirmed their relationship status, that hasn’t stopped either one of them from discussing their love lives publicly. Kaitlyn, for one, admitted in July 2024 that she wasn’t nervous before going on a date with her mystery man.
“I’m going to know right off the bat if I like him or not. The conversations [are] either going to be good or terrible,” she recalled on the “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “I was going into it almost fed up.”
However, there was “chemistry” between them right away. While Kaitlyn said they “went through a blip,” things eventually progressed.
Some Bachelor Nation fans have also taken Kaitlyn’s April announcement that she was moving to New York City as another clue that she and Zac are together, since that’s where he lives.
“CATS OUTTA THE BAG … I’M MOVING TO NYC,” she announced at the time. “A whole new chapter is about to begin … and I want to hear your stories too.”
The full episode of “Not Skinny But Not Fat” drops Tuesday, July 14, on all podcast platforms.

Young and Restless 2-Week Spoilers July 13-24: Adam’s Explosive Rebellion & Jack’s Nightmare
Young and the Restless 2-Week Spoilers for July 13 – 24, 2026 excite with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) ready to revolt when he is forced into an untenable position that does not appeal to him at all. Plus, Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) worst nightmare may not be over just yet. So, buckle up for that.
During the two weeks of July 13th through the 24th, we’re also going to get the last day of July sweeps that comes on Monday the 20th and action with Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) revenge plan is going on. Plus, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) is ready to lash out. And Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is worried. Let’s get started.
Young and the Restless: Jack’s Recovery and Kyle’s Revenge – July 13th Through 17th
Monday, July 13th, in his hospital room, we’ve got Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) telling Jack that she loves him and wants to be with him forever. And he wonders if he kind of deserves what Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) did because of how terribly he treated her in the past. Diane doesn’t think so. And then she heads home to get some rest. And Abigail stops by to visit her uncle Jack and gets some advice about Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Later, Jack nods off and has nightmares about Patty stabbing him. And then he does some reminiscing about his dad, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).
At the mansion, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) also talk about how great of a dad he was. Then Diane arrives and gets a very warm welcome. Abby also pops in and the ladies send Jack a smiling selfie. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) gives Kyle complete props for saving Diane’s life. And they talk about nearly losing Jack. And Billy talks about how Jack was a father figure to him because of their age gap and that he was jealous when Kyle came along and he acted out. He says sorry and then Billy warns that chasing revenge on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is a bad idea.
Kyle is determined to make Victor pay for bringing Patty back and her nearly killing Jack and Diane both. And Billy mentions Victor’s the reason he and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) didn’t last because the Newmans always enable Victor and let him get away with it all. Kyle wants Billy’s advice and input on his revenge plan. But Billy says he cannot get involved because of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and they’ve got a baby on their way. Kyle understands, but he’s not going to stop until he makes Victor pay for what he did to his parents.
Y&R Spoilers: Victor Upsets Adam
On Tuesday, July 14th, Victor gives Kyle a warning. And I wonder if he’s going to let Victor know that he is coming for him. Plus, Adam is really irritated that Victor is planning to go after Spectra because Phyllis gave Newman Media to Billy and then he integrated it into Sally’s company. Adam even reminded Victor that Sally is pregnant.
And of course, Adam doesn’t want to stress her out and cause a miscarriage, but Victor doesn’t care. So, Adam offers an alternative plan that he and Chelsea came up with. Adam is asking Victor to give them six months to put their plan into motion. And Adam says, “And then, you know, if it doesn’t work, you can do what you want.” But Victor tells Adam, “This is the offer. You can take it or leave it.”
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sally Blasts Adam & Chelsea
On Tuesday, Sally confronts Adam and Chelsea, accusing them of sabotaging her company. Obviously, Victor has done something at that point. And I hope that Adam and Chelsea explain that it’s Victor and not them. I think it’s fine to throw him under the bus. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) struggles with her blindness, which is her new reality. She still has bandages on both her eyes. The tumor was only on one optic nerve, so I am wondering why both eyes are still covered. I don’t understand the medical of that, but bottom line, somebody needs to give Nikki a cane before she trips and falls into something.
On Wednesday, July 15th, we’ve got Jack and Diane reunited, and it feels so good. Now, they just need to get Jack healed up so he can get out of the hospital. Also, Kyle and Diane are in Jack’s hospital room when Nikki and Victoria show up for a visit. As Nikki sits by Jack’s bedside, her eyes are still bandaged. And I wonder if he’s gonna tell Nikki that this is Victor’s fault because we know he brought Patty to Genoa City. However, we also know that Victoria can’t handle any criticism of Daddy.
That same day, Victor is hurling accusations of betrayal at Nikki. I’m guessing it’s because she went to visit Jack in the hospital. And I wonder if Nikki asks Victor questions about Patty and his involvement with her. And that will enrage Victor, no doubt.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kyle Negotiates w/ Patty
Kyle goes and offers Patty a deal on Wednesday. So Kyle shows up to visit her at her GCPD cell and she tells Kyle he’s not the Abbott that she wanted to see. Kind of weird because I mean did Patty really think Jack was going to come visit her? He’s still in the hospital recovering where she stabbed him. So, I do think Kyle is going to tempt Patty with the idea of cutting a deal, flipping on the real villain, which is Victor, so that Patty doesn’t need to spend the rest of her life in prison. Kyle fully believes that Victor was behind everything Patty did, bankrolling it, encouraging it, all of that.
On Thursday, July 16th, Victor plays hard ball. He is coming at Spectra-Charles. Billy, of course, is the one that Victor’s after, but it’s Sally and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). They’re going to pay the price. And I suspect this may light a fire under Billy. So despite his earlier objections, he may join Kyle’s revenge plan against Victor and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) may get involved since she is bankrolling Spectra-Charles.
Victoria and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) honor Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) memory, naming the publishing division of Newman Enterprises they’re setting up after Claire’s dad. He passed a little more than a year ago on July 3rd, 2025 from Legionnaire’s disease. Nikki is extremely concerned about Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) sobriety and worried that he’s going to relapse because of all the stress he’s under. Also, this week, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) checks in with Nick at Crimson Lights. She’s also concerned.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor & Nikki Reconcile
On Friday, July 17th, Victor and Nikki commit to a fresh start. Honestly, this really bothers me given how dirty that Victor has done Jack, who is Nikki’s best friend. But remember, Victor told Nikki that she has to cut Jack out of her life if she wants to reconcile. So, I wonder if Nikki actually did that. If so, it’s even worse.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) are worried about Devon. Also, Abigail expresses her concerns to Jack on Monday about her husband. This is all about Devon and his anger issues. The last time Devon gave into his anger, he ruined Nate’s surgical career when he assaulted him. Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) talks with Lily this week at the Genoa City Athletic Club. I’m sure Devon is still giving Lily a hard time about trusting Cane and Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), but Lily is falling for Cane again, and she wants Holden in her life. I do wonder if Devon’s a little jealous about Holden.
Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and Noah have some issues because of Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Next week, he’s back up at the Shadow Room again talking to Noah and Sienna, and Noah looks like he is ready to punch Matt in the face while Sienna looks worried on Young and the Restless.
Young and the Restless: Power Shifts and Revenge Plans – July 20th Through 24th
Then the week of July 20th through the 24th, we’ve got Victor and Nikki moving forward. But if Kyle gets the deal that he wants from Patty, things could change for them. Our summer spoilers promise Victor and Nikki continue to be tested. We may see Devon getting an anger intervention from Lily, Nate, and Abby. If so, it’ll tick him off and just anger him more.
Noah and Sienna’s relationship faces challenges with Audra trying to tempt Noah away from Sienna and then Matt continuing to push their buttons and stay in their faces. We’ll see more about what happens after Kyle makes Patty that offer of a sweet deal. Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) may need to make some more arrests soon. I picture Patty long-term back in a padded room, not doing a hard time in a state prison because honestly, that’s where she needs to be. She’s crazy.
Nikki gets her bandages off soon, but I expect her sight to continue to be compromised for a while. Cane and Lily get much, much closer. Victor ticks off Billy as he accelerates his efforts to take over Sally’s company. Adam isn’t going to like that and he and Billy may see eye to eye on this. Plus, Nick’s struggles are far from over and Victoria takes the reins at Newman Enterprises and I’m sure she’ll have no problem doing Victor’s dirty work for him, but her brothers might not agree.

Sam Neill’s Forgotten 90s Fantasy Performance Is Streaming For Free
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

Sam Neill will be best remembered for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise, his doomed Russian officer’s desire to see the Black Hills in The Hunt for Red October, or for the real sickos out there, his one-two punch of In The Mouth Of Madness and Event Horizon. Forgotten in all of that is his turn as Merlin in one of the most successful television mini-series of the 90s. Merlin was a two-night event on NBC in 1998 and brought in a combined viewership of 70 million. As the legendary wizard, Neill brought his usual gravitas to the Arthurian legend and elevated the series to must-watch television.
The Entire Legend Of King Arthur In 3 Hours\

Merlin tells the legend of King Arthur through the eyes of his loyal advisor, starting when he was a young wizard-in-training. Learning that he was created by Queen Mab (Miranada Richardson), he sets off to learn magic from her and her servant, Frink (Martin Short). The true depths of her treachery and wicked ways are revealed, leading Merlin (played here by Daniel Brocklebank) to swear his revenge.
The story jumps many years later, to the ongoing war between Uther Pendragon and King Vortigern (Rutger Hauer), which Merlin finds himself right in the middle of. Reluctantly, Merlin assists Uther in bedding Igraine on the condition that he’s able to raise the result of the union himself, and sure enough, the first episode ends with the birth of King Arthur.
The second episode whips through the rise and fall of Camelot at lightning speed, all while keeping Neill’s Merlin at the center of it all. As you can tell, the pacing required to tell the entire Arthurian legend in under 3 hours (allowing for 2 hour episodes with commercials each night), means it’s a great overview, but only Merlin’s feud with Mab and his love of Nimue (Isabella Rossellini) is able to have any depth to it as a result. And yet, while watching, Sam Neill’s portrayal is so good, you’ll swear it’s one of the best adaptations you’ve ever seen.
Sam Neill Gave Every Performance Everything He Had

The 90s saw a brief revival of the television miniseries format that was so popular in the 70s and 80s, between Merlin, The Odyssey, and the Stephen King adaptations The Stand and Storm of the Century. Sam Neill was, thanks to Jurassic Park, a movie star so when Hallmark landed him for Merlin it was considered a very big deal. He enjoyed the role, and even came back to it in 2006 for the sequel, Merlin’s Apprentice.
Sam Neill had a unique charisma to him that demanded your attention and the way he’d deliver his lines, no matter how they may have been written on paper, with the gravitas and emotion of Shakespeare in the Park. No matter the role, you knew if he turned up on screen you were in for a great show. Sam Neill’s recent passing has impacted his fans, but he left a long list of performances that will continue to entertain for many generations to come.
Merlin, one of his most overlooked, is currently available to stream for free on Tubi, The CW, and Amazon Prime Video.

Adam Driver Rumored to Be Marvel Studios’ New Magneto for the MCU’s X-Men Reboot : Coastal House Media
A major Marvel rumor is making waves online, with reports claiming that Adam Driver is being lined up to play Magneto in Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated X-Men reboot.
The casting rumor quickly gained traction after surfacing through industry scoopers before spreading across social media, Reddit, and several entertainment news outlets. While Marvel Studios has yet to confirm the report, Driver’s name has rapidly become one of the most talked about possibilities for the iconic mutant leader.
If the rumor proves true, Driver would become the third major actor to portray Erik Lehnsherr on the big screen, following legendary performances by Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender. The role is widely considered one of Marvel’s most complex characters, requiring an actor capable of balancing both villainy and sympathy, something many fans believe Driver has consistently demonstrated throughout his career.
Adding even more excitement to the speculation is the timing. Marvel Studios is expected to return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con later this month, and many insiders believe the presentation could serve as the stage for the studio’s first official X-Men casting announcements. While rumors continue to point toward Hall H as the place where Marvel could unveil its new mutant lineup, the studio has not confirmed that any X-Men casting announcements are planned, making the speculation just that for now.
Recent reports have suggested Marvel is assembling a fresh roster of mutants following the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, with younger actors reportedly being sought for characters like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, and Nightcrawler. Veteran actors are still believed to be in the mix for legacy characters such as Magneto and Professor X, making Driver’s rumored involvement a believable fit if Marvel chooses to go that route.
Magneto, Marvel
Driver is no stranger to blockbuster franchises, having portrayed Kylo Ren throughout Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy while also earning Academy Award nominations for Marriage Story and BlacKkKlansman. His ability to portray emotionally layered characters has made him a longtime fan favorite for several Marvel roles.
For now, however, fans should approach the rumor with caution. Marvel Studios has remained silent regarding its X-Mencast, and numerous names have been linked to the reboot over the past year without becoming official.
With San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, fans may not have to wait much longer to learn who will lead the next generation of Marvel’s mutants. Whether Adam Driver ultimately dons Magneto’s iconic helmet remains to be seen, but if the Hall H rumors prove accurate, the official reveal could be just days away.

Days of Our Lives 2-Week Spoilers for July 13 – 24, 2026 shock with Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) completely enraged as things spin out of control in his life. Plus, Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) is smirking right in somebody’s face and it’s something you do not want to miss.
Let’s get into what is going on the weeks of July 13th through the 24th in Salem, including Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) facing the music, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) needing a new friend, and lots more. And by the way, Monday the 20th is the last day of July sweeps.
Days of Our Lives: Family Secrets and Love Triangles – July 13th Through 17th
On Monday, July 13th, we’ve got Joy Wesley’s (AlexAnn Hopkins) story stunning Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). Looks like Joy was in a car wreck and Kelsey was in the car and apparently the spare tire that Alex put on the car blew out. And yes, his daughter being in a car crash is something Joy was right to call him about. All Stephanie had to do was answer the phone, but she didn’t.
And on Friday, when Alex heard about the wreck and found out Stephanie knew about the calls, Alex snapped at her for not caring about Kelsey. Then he stormed out. Then on Monday, Alex rushes into the hospital room asking, “Where’s Kelsey?” And Joy’s crying in Alex’s arm. She’s all worked up. Joy calms down and apologizes for leaving a panicked voicemail. Alex is stunned and he knows that Stephanie was ignoring his phone and didn’t even call the office to give him a heads up. So, Alex can do the math on what happened with that voicemail.
DOOL Spoilers: Kelsey Gets a Clean Bill of Health
Kayla comes back into the room with Kelsey, who’s all smiles. Looks like they were cautious and checked out Kelsey because the wreck sounded scary. And of course, Kayla is stunned when Stephanie confesses that she deleted the voicemail Joy left for Alex about his kid being in a car crash. You would think that Stephanie might extend a little bit of grace, you know, since she tried to put a bullet in Joy. At this point, Stephanie’s just being petty and jealous, and it’s really not a good look.
We also have Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) opening up to Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) about her declining health issues. And you know, obviously this puts Marlena in a tough position because she can’t tell anybody, but she can offer Lexie some advice. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) is stepping things up in his war with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). I am totally team EJ on this one. It’s the power of the dimples and the accent for me.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Johnny Upset & Chanel Goes Off
On Tuesday, July 14th, EJ’s working on Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) who is still upset about the Coriseal arsenic mess that he is forced to help clean up and it’s made worse since Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) is trying to accuse EJ of causing her cancer which just isn’t true. The well water was perfectly safe when she was there. It was Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) who nuked her with radioactivity.
Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) and Belle work on the Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) chess mystery looking for more clues. They are going to a very deep performance by the Salem Symphony to see if they can get a hint there. Paulina and Chanel discuss marital issues. Paulina just found out she is unmarried. And Chanel’s ready to accuse her father-in-law of giving her cancer on Days of our Lives.
Marlena and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) have a nice chat and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) admits to Theo he’s been keeping something secret from him and Theo is going to be furious to hear that Abe was conspiring with EJ to get him out at DiMera.
Days Spoilers: Gabi Bonds with Gwen
On Wednesday, July 15th, Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Gwen do some bonding. They already had a nice chat when Gabi realized Gwen had a fake Gabi Chic bag she paid top dollar for. And with Kristen losing her status as Gwen’s only friend, she needs a new one. There’s a big break in Chad and Belle Black (Martha Madison) investigation this week. Some guy hands Belle a program for the Salem Symphony, saying she dropped it. But Belle’s program is right there on the bench where she left it, so she and Chad need to take a closer look at the program that the guy handed her.
Stephanie and Theo get boozy at Small Bar. She’s ticked about the whole Joy thing. And of course, Theo is ticked about the Abe and Stefano and EJ thing. So, looks like they get toasted and then Theo crashes on Stephanie’s couch undressing at least partially. So, Alex is offering support to Joy and Kelsey.
But he is very annoyed at his wife Stephanie because Alex comes home already aggravated about the whole voicemail thing and the stress about Kelsey and then he finds a half naked Theo dozing in his apartment. I doubt that Alex will like that, but obviously he and Stephanie weren’t, you know, doing anything. I don’t think so. We’ll see. I wouldn’t think she’d let him sleep on the sofa if they had. Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez) and Gus (Michael Ocampo) run into Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and things are awkward and Javi is convinced that Leo isn’t over him. I agree.
DOOL Spoilers: Marlena Worried & Sarah Frustrated
On Thursday, July 16th, Marlena is concerned about Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote). And I wonder if Marlena thinks that Rachel’s getting out of Bayview too soon, or it may be her grief over Sophia. Lexie stuns her sister Kristen and I wonder if Lexie is going to tell her that she’s sick again.
Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) is frustrated and opens up to Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), I’m guessing about EJ, the Coriseal and Holly. And of course, she is struggling with the arsenic, the lawsuit, and being questioned about pills. It’s just a whole lot for Holly to deal with.
Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) sees EJ in a new light. Her memories are definitely surprising Cat. But will she reject those legit feelings that she has for EJ?
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Things Get Tough for the Carvers
On Friday, July 17th, Abe apologizes to Theo, but soon things are going to get worse for the Carver family. Alex talks to Stephanie about the stunt that she pulled, and I wonder if she will bring up when Alex turned off her phone the night Kayla was dying so that he could get into her bed. Hopefully, they can find a middle ground as Alex navigates this tricky co-parenting situation with Joy.
Ari comes to see Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and they have a whole lot to catch up on. EJ gets some bad news and Kayla is thrilled. So thrilled. She’s smirking when she tells EJ in front of Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) that the state board revoked EJ’s ownership rights at the hospital. Tate Black (Leo Howard) is shocked when he finds pills in Holly’s bag. I have no doubt that EJ plants them. Holly explodes in front of Sarah when Tate asks her about them.

Days Spoilers: Betrayals and Spiraling Secrets – July 20th Through 24th
Then the week of July 20th through the 24th, we’re going to see Holly getting increasingly frustrated because nobody believes her about the pills. I‘m betting EJ will tell her that he believes her because that’ll be terribly ironic since he’s the one setting her up to cover his Coriseal mess. Cat’s feeling the tug of her past feelings for EJ, but Cat is using that to try and manipulate EJ for her ISA takedown, which Andrew and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) both want her to stop. So, I’m wondering if Cat’s feelings get the better of her where EJ is concerned.
Theo feels betrayed by everybody and could spiral. And I think once he and Abe learn the truth about Lexie dying again, that Theo is going to fall apart. Gwen and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) may spend more time together soon talking about heartache. She and Xander are done, but he and Kristen keep getting closer while they are plotting to take down EJ.
DOOL Spoilers: Chanel Goes into Labor
Lani Price (Sal Stowers) and Eli are overdue to celebrate their anniversary, which was on July 1st. Very soon, he gives her a gorgeous necklace, and then he whisks Lani away for a romantic evening at the Salem Inn so they can be alone. The new pawn has been watching Belle and Chad investigate the chessboard, and more intrigue comes soon.
Holly still has to face Amy Choi’s (Shi Ne Nielsen) lawsuit, and I do wonder if EJ will point Amy towards Kristen to get her off Holly’s case. Chanel’s going into premature labor soon, and things look really scary. Also, it’s not long until Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) returns to Salem to play Let’s Make a Deal with Rafe, Gwen, and Leo. Plus, Lexie’s health continues to decline.
Dr.Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) can’t seem to find a way to stop the progression of her illness and symptoms. So, it’s not going to be too long until Lexie is back in the hospital dying again. And Abe and Theo are at her bedside and angry when EJ shows up to visit his sister. Plus, time’s almost up for Kristen before EJ takes her off the chessboard entirely.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Red Sandals Have a Walmart Lookalike

If there’s one time of year to play with color, well, we’re in it. Jennifer Lawrence already got the memo, which is probably why she recently added fiery accessories to her casual outfit. You don’t have to twist our arms to do the same, so we’ll be picking up our own red sandals for summer stat.
Lawrence was out and about in New York City in a white graphic T-shirt, cream shorts, a large red bag, dark sunglasses and red sandals. We never say no to a footwear refresh, so we’re shopping a similar style with the Journee Lavine Multi-Strap Flat Sandals. The strappy option adds a pop of color while offering serious comfort for all-day wear.
Get the Journee Lavine Multi-Strap Flat Sandals for $50 at Walmart!
Although not exact to Lawrence’s sandals, we’d argue that the Journee pick is much more comfortable. You see, the straps are wider, which means they won’t dig into your foot as you walk. Instead, the adjustable ankle strap with a buckle and two upper straps nicely hold your foot in place. Plus, we get to see more of the red!
For further comfort, these sandals have a cushioned insole, so your foot will feel supported. And the flexible outsole means it’ll move with your foot for long days standing and walking. The flat heel design won’t add any stress to your foot, so there’s really no wrong occasion you can wear them for.
Reviewers agree that these summer sandals are stylish and comfortable to get you through the season. “I ordered three pairs of brown sandals, and these are the ones I kept,” one five-star reviewer shared. “I’ve worn them once with no issues, and I feel like I could walk for quite some time in these.”
Like Lawrence, we love an unexpected dash of red, but the Journee sandals come in 15 other options. So, on days you want to keep things neutral, reach for the black, white, brown or beige. But if you’re going to ride out this fun-color thing, the raspberry and blue are calling your name.
We know that there are so many sandal options out there, but we love a versatile option that we can see ourselves wearing daily. And who knows? Lawrence might’ve just turned us into everyday pops-of-red kind of people.

Star Wars Icon Adam Driver To Play Magneto In Marvel’s Upcoming X-Men Film
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Right now, it’s a pretty weird time to be a fan of the X-Men. On the one hand, we’re all excited to see some of the original movie crew (including Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen) appear for one last adventure in Avengers: Doomsday. On the other hand, most of us are a little more excited about what comes next. Marvel is currently hard at work on an X-Men movie that will properly introduce new versions of these characters to the MCU. Aside from the fact that it will be directed by Jake Schreier (who brought us The Thunderbolts), we know almost nothing about this upcoming film.
Now, though, we have a potential bombshell regarding casting. Right now, multiple reliable Marvel scoopers are reporting that Star Wars icon Adam Driver will be playing Magneto in the MCU. This news is coming out ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel may make this casting announcement official. Until then, rumors that Driver will be playing this popular foe have electrified the fandom and cemented the fact that some big names will be bringing our favorite mutant heroes and villains to life in the X-Men movie.
Magnetos, How Do They Even Work?

This is one of those cases where different scoopers have been reporting different versions of this story. Some (including MyTimeToShineHello) are reporting that Driver will be playing the villain of the upcoming X-Men movie, which triggered fan speculation that he might play a more unconventional Big Bad such as Mr. Sinister. However, others (including Apocalyptic Horseman) are reporting that Driver will be playing Magneto, the first and arguably best X-Men villain. While nothing has been confirmed by Marvel, news of Driver joining the MCU has electrified fans all over the world.
One reason that fans are so excited is that Adam Driver was the best part of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Those movies were divisive, but even their biggest haters have acknowledged that Driver was always acting his heart out as Kylo Ren. Based on his experience acting in a galaxy far, far, away, we know that he will be comfortable performing in the MCU. Running around as a guy in a scary costume and helmet while giving supervillain speeches? He clearly has this covered. Of course, Driver’s more nuanced performance in movies like A Marriage Story emphasizes how he would also be at home playing a more complex and sympathetic Magneto.
Marvel Going Metal

Of course, this casting rumor has sparked many questions among the MCU fandom. For example, who will play Professor Xavier, whose tangled history with Magneto is so foundational to X-Men lore? Also, will Magneto begin the film as a Big Bad, or will we see his slow descent (like in X-Men: First Class) into villainy? Will Magneto be a solo act when he squares off against Xavier’s gifted youngsters, or will he already have an Evil Brotherhood of Mutants to command? Hopefully, we’ll get answers to all of these questions and more in the coming days.
In the meantime, this casting rumor has generated plenty of hype for Marvel. It’s already shaping up to be a banner year for the studio: tracking shows that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the biggest movie of the summer, and everyone from hardcore fans to filthy casuals is excited to see Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. return to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday. Now, excitement about seeing Adam Driver as Magneto has fans hyped about what comes next after Avengers: Secret Wars. Some thought audience malaise might finally sink Marvel, but as it turns out, even the dreaded superhero fatigue is no match for a master of magnetism!
