Modern Action Movies Are All Missing One Very Important Setup
By Robert Scucci
| Published

Filmmakers need to bring back the warehouse showdown, and I’m tired of letting them get away with over-the-top action sequences that cost tens of millions of dollars to produce. These days, every action sequence has to be elevated. The Gray Man (2022) gets off on leveling entire city blocks, and the John Wick films, which are some of my favorite modern action movies, go for intense choreography and enough changes in scenery to make me slip into an overstimulation-induced coma. The list goes on. Look at any superhero movie where entire cities get razed to the ground, with 2013’s Man of Steel being perhaps the most egregious example.
All of the above titles have a disappointing lack of warehouse showdowns, and I often wonder why. Well, the real reason is that all of these productions had massive bankrolls behind them, whereas warehouse showdowns are typically found in action movies with much smaller budgets.

It doesn’t have to be this way, though, because we’ve seen iterations of the warehouse showdown in Michael Bay films like The Rock (1996) and forgotten low-budget action thrillers like Army of One (1993) alike.
Personally, I’ve become so desensitized to action sequences that I think I need to be intravenously injected with a good old warehouse showdown at least once a month as part of my longevity treatment.
Why The Warehouse Showdown Is Iconic

These days, all action has to be elevated, but it wasn’t always like that. In the 80s and 90s, the warehouse showdown didn’t discriminate, and you can see varying levels of awesomeness across low-budget films like Raw Deal (1986), Stone Cold (1991), Hard Boiled (1992), and Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991). The setup is always simple. The good guys take out what they think are all the henchmen, then finally make it to the boss level, where the primary antagonist is surrounded by even more henchmen and apparently lives in a warehouse that manufactures nothing but sparks and noise.
All you have to do while watching a classic warehouse showdown is sit back, relax, listen to the glorious music of shell casings scattering across the floor, and brace yourself for plenty of well-timed explosions that light the entire place up as our heroes run from the coming, all-consuming fireball and dive into the conveniently placed marina right next door.

You don’t need $50 million to have a solid warehouse showdown. All you need is grit, squibs, decent lighting, and a revolving door of villains who can be thrown into a pile of highly flammable barrels that are also conveniently placed throughout the field of play.
It’s Not Just A Matter Of Budget
While it certainly sounds like I’m only into low-budget schlock (I am, but that’s beside the point), the warehouse showdown isn’t just for filmmakers with limited resources. Sometimes you get the best of both worlds, which is exactly what we see in 1996’s The Rock, directed by none other than Michael Bay. I say the best of both worlds because there’s a high-speed chase through the streets of San Francisco involving a bright yellow Ferrari F355 Spider, which obviously wasn’t cheap to pull off. Streets had to be shut down, and I imagine a sequence like this required dozens of technicians on the payroll.

But here’s why The Rock is one of the greatest action movies of all time. What is Alcatraz? That’s a rhetorical question. I know Alcatraz is an out-of-service prison where you can throw a couple of quarters into a crank machine and get a crappy souvenir in the form of a flattened penny with the Golden Gate Bridge stamped on it or whatever. Still, the point stands that Alcatraz is basically just a giant warehouse, and you better believe there’s going to be a showdown.
The same can be said for RoboCop (1987) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), which both use steel mills as de facto warehouses for their showdowns. It’s a simple, self-contained setup that requires no worldbuilding and no constant changes in scenery. It’s the setting for the final showdown, where you can get close-ups and maybe even a great one-liner from our heroes while they focus on what’s most important: blowing sh*t up and taking out dozens of enemies in a very short amount of time.

As modern filmmaking continues to push the envelope, with the Space Pontiac in F9 coming to mind, sometimes we just need to go back to basics and blow the roof off a warehouse for the love of the game.

Billy Zane’s Forgotten, R-Rated 90 Sci-Fi Thriller Is Blade Runner Meets Inception
By Robert Scucci
| Published

There’s nothing quite like a solid neo-noir sci-fi mind-bender, and 1990’s Megaville is the most Inception thing I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve seen Inception! Megaville wins some extra points, though, because it’s Billy Zane’s first lead role. That’s right, before he blew up with The Phantom and Titanic, he was all about that Blade Runner-style dystopian sci-fi grit, taking on an increasingly complicated mission that requires him to live between two worlds: the Hemisphere and the titular Megaville.
Megaville tells a story about assumed identities, a tyrannical government that has outlawed the media, and the resulting black market hanging in the balance as corrupt officials do as they please, all in the name of controlling the masses. It’s delivered through classic neo-noir beats in the context of a sci-fi film. It’s Billy Zane at his most frenetic and hungry, and he commits to the bit like a total pro.
The Hemisphere Vs Megaville

Megaville starts out in the Hemisphere, where media is outlawed and the government rules with an iron fist. Raymond Palinov (Billy Zane) is the captain of the Media Police, but here’s the problem: he’s addicted to the media he’s supposed to be confiscating, which clearly doesn’t go over well with his higher-ups who run the CKS, the Hemisphere’s governing body. To make matters worse, Raymond keeps “losing control” in the form of full-body seizures, complete with hallucinations, that only continue to escalate.
Despite his personal and professional issues, Raymond is summoned by CKS Director Mr. Duprell (Daniel J. Travanti) to handle a classified mission in Megaville involving a new consumer product known as Dream-A-Life (DAL), a virtual reality headset that allows users to live whatever kind of life they want but can’t attain in the physical world. The Hemisphere has made such devices legal, but thanks to a mysterious man named Mr. Newman (J.C. Quinn), they’re fair game over in Megaville, which is where Raymond will be put to use.

Raymond bears an uncanny resemblance to Mr. Newman’s only known contact in the Hemisphere, Jensen, and is put under by Dr. Vogel (Stefan Gierasch) under the guise of having his head problems fixed. Instead, Dr. Vogel implants Jensen’s memories into his skull, allowing him to navigate Megaville, find Jensen’s lover, Christine (Kristen Cloke), and piece together exactly where he needs to be to track down Mr. Newman. The implant also makes him incredibly unstable, which may have been the plan all along.
From this point forward, it’s unclear who Raymond is supposed to trust. He’s still his own person, but sometimes finds himself thinking like Jensen, and other times finds himself spazzing out as if his brain is being remotely accessed by the folks back in the Hemisphere. Raymond gets further lost in his own mind as he tries to navigate a mission that even his mother (Grace Zabriskie) encouraged him to take on. Between the voices in his head, the increasing hallucinations, and the DAL technology starting to influence his decision-making, Raymond is caught in the middle of a grand conspiracy with no clear escape route, to the point where he doesn’t even know who he is anymore.
A Gritty, Frenetic Brain Twister

By now, we’ve all seen similar plots play out, but Megaville holds its own as one of those weird sci-fi gems you may have overlooked. If you go in as a blank slate, the film has a lot going for it, even if some of its genre conventions can be found elsewhere. I can’t say with confidence that I’d feel the same way if anybody other than Billy Zane were the lead actor in this movie, however. His physicality and, at times, complete blankness hint at what’s to come in his career as he’s just starting to cut his teeth as a lead actor here. This doesn’t seem like an easy role to convincingly play, and he fully commits to the premise.
Megaville is one of those weird films that’s inherently cerebral but still easy to digest because every character archetype is familiar enough to wrap your head around. You have the evil government scientists and the conflicted agent trying to find inner peace, and along the way we learn how these shadow-government operations are handled. Despite its familiar beats, Megaville remains enthralling from start to finish because we’re allowed to focus on what’s happening in the moment instead of constantly wondering what everybody’s motives are.

This isn’t to say there aren’t surprise twists and turns along the way, but rather to illustrate how this vehicle is primed to kick it into fifth gear without leaving viewers in the dust. It’s clearly a low-budget effort with a then up-and-coming A-lister, but if anything, it serves as a solid proving ground for Billy Zane, who leans so hard into his conflicted character’s fractured mental state that he sells it better than just about anybody else who could have been cast in the role.

As of this writing, you can stream Megaville for free on Tubi.

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi’s Cancer Coping Mechanism Was Pricey
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi has an expensive cure for a bad day, and she is unapologetic about it!
The media personality finally revealed how she took her cervical cancer diagnosis and the wild rollercoaster she hopped on afterward to embrace that reality.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, who shared that she was diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer, is set to get a hysterectomy as part of her cancer treatment.

The television queen told US Weekly that she immediately picked up the phone and called her mother to give her the update amid tears, and also began planning her funeral.
Polizzi continued that she was emotional and hysterical for like three days, and then she decided to do something about how she was feeling.
“You’re a bad bitch, you’re going to be fine, you tackle everything. And then I went to Short Hills and spent, like, thousands of dollars,” the star noted. Polizzi continued that she then went into a store to get designer stuff, including Louis Vuitton bags, Gucci shoes, and bags.
The reality star intimated her fans with her condition back in January via a TikTok video where she explained that she has been dealing with pre-cancerous cell growth in her cervix for about three to four years. US Weekly shared that following a biopsy, it was confirmed weeks later that she had stage one cervical cancer.
The MTV Alum Is Looking Forward To Getting This Surgery Done As Part Of Her Treatment

She continued in her chat with US Weekly that she has summer planned out, and it includes going in for a major surgery, a hysterectomy. Her timing is perfect because that is when her schedule gets less demanding, and she will not be traveling as much.
Currently, the star has been going back and forth from Canada for her show to Nashville and more places for her store, which is why she had to push the appointment well into the summer.
“I wanted to make sure that I had, like, two weeks just to chill, to recover, and do all that. It’s going to be happening soon. I’m definitely nervous. I’m excited just to get it done,” Polizzi declared.
She also raved about getting much-needed support from her father, who had been battling cancer for years, the moment she updated her family about her diagnosis.
Polizzi recalled everyone being there for her, showing her support, and wishing for her speedy recovery both within her circle and even on social media.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Urged Women To Prioritize Early Screenings

The media personality turned her health issue into an avenue to pass a strong message about the benefits of early detection and women’s health awareness.
Upon receiving the shocking news about her cervical cancer, Polizzi confessed that she was forced to confront her fears and begin to picture the worst-case scenarios for her family and her children.
As noted by The Blast, the diagnosis also caused her to reflect on one decision she now completely regrets, and it is constantly ignoring her doctor’s repeated follow-up reminder.
Polizzi added that if she had actually taken the reminders with all seriousness, she would have caught on early, and now she advised her listeners to take a better step than she did.
Fortunately, the media personality shared encouraging news about her recovery. A recent PET scan showed that there were no signs that the cancer had spread, and she remained hopeful that her hysterectomy would help ensure it stays that way.
The ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Received Support From Her Co-Stars After Her Diagnosis

As soon as Polizzi’s news got on social media, her fans, co-stars, and loved ones swarmed her post with love and support as she prepares to get on the road for delivery.
The Blast stated that fans praised her for being so open about her condition, stating that her bravery has encouraged them to take their health seriously.
“Jersey Shore” stars Sammi Giancola and Jenni Farley also gushed about Polizzi’s strength while reiterating their love and admiration for the star. On the home front, the reality star’s husband, Jionni LaValle, has reportedly been there to support her with whatever she needs amid her cancer battle.
The media personality’s podcast partner, Joey Camasta, who is also one of her long-time best friends, was also on the support front line, reassuring the star that, in her usual manner, she would beat cancer and come out victorious.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi’s Emotional Conversation With Kids After Cancer News

One of the hardest aspects of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s cervical cancer journey has been telling her kids about her disease. The reality queen revealed how she dealt with the tough conversation with her husband, LaValle, and their three children, Lorenzo, Giovanna, and Angelo.
In an interview with E! News, Snooki said that she kept it simple, stayed calm, told them they would be okay, and that she would need surgery. Nevertheless, there were emotional responses to the news.
Snooki said that her oldest son was immediately concerned about whether she was dying or heading to heaven. In the midst of the sadness, Lorenzo was able to add a bit of lightness to the situation by jokingly asking her if she was going to leave him anything.
Snooki said her main priority during the conversation was to ensure that her children feel safe and comfortable. She commended them for being mature and understanding of her need to focus on getting healthy and recovering from surgery.
The TV personality also said that her kids have been supportive all the way through and still tell her that it will all be okay.
Get well soon, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi!

‘RHOA’ Star Drew Sidora Ordered To Pay Child Support
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Drew Sidora has been in the process of divorcing Ralph Pittman since February 2023. Now, over three years later, it has been finalized, with the “RHOA” fan-favorite not only losing the marital home, but also being ordered to pay child support for their two young children.
This comes as the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is only days away from filming the season 17 reunion.

TMZ obtained Sidora and Pittman’s divorce judgment, dated June 8, following testimonies from both parties. First, the court documents outline their respective incomes, which conflict with what she previously reported to the court.
Sidora is listed as earning $38,000 per month, while Puttman earns $27k for the same period. Per the judgment, the “RHOA” star will pay $2,218 each month in child support for the minor children she shares with Pittman.
As mentioned, Pittman will retain the $1.9 million Atlanta home they currently share. However, he must pay her $145k for her interest in the property. The couple was also reported to have multiple loans against the home.
The Couple Will Divide Up The Other Property

Elsewhere in the divorce documents, it states that Sidora and Pittman will also divide their vehicles. For her, she’ll get a Cadillac Escalade. He will maintain possession of a Porsche Taycan and a Cadillac XT5. Sidora will keep the family’s dog per the divorce agreement.
Additionally, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s surname will revert to Jordan. Neither party is receiving spousal support. Regarding the home, Sidora must vacate once Pittman pays her the $145k.
‘RHOA’ Fans Are Happy Drew Is Finally Divorced

Sidora has been open on “RHOA” and in interviews about the strain she felt while in limbo with Pittman. As fans of the show will recall, he resided in the basement amid the divorce, which she described as sometimes taxing.
Because of this, fans are happy that they can both move forward with their separate lives while also coparenting their children. One person said, “Now they can both move on, and we won’t have to hear about him on the show.”
Another fan stated, “This couple just had issues from the start…I don’t even know how they managed to be together that long.’ Someone else wrote, “Oh wow, Drew only walks always with an old Cadillac and the family dog.”
Regarding the settlement, a different social media user chimed in, “Roles reversed but fair based on income. Glad the kids come first. Hope they co-parent well moving forward.”
Others reacted to the disparity in what Sidora initially stated they earned versus what the final divorce judgment states. One person said, “I thought Drew only made $12k a month, and Ralph made $71k a month. What changed?”
Drew Previously Lost Primary Physical Custody Of The Kids

As mentioned, Sidora and Pittman have two children, ages 10 and 8. According to PEOPLE, in April 2026, a court ruled that they would share joint legal custody of the two kids. However, following what was reported as excessive school absences, Pittman will have primary physical custody during the academic year.
The custody agreement, which starts in August, gives Sidora parenting time on alternating weekends. At that time, she was also required to vacate the home by May 31. However, she was later allowed to remain in the residence.
A representative for Sidora released a statement, saying that the “matter is still being actively litigated, and is in the middle of the final trial. The Second Temporary Order is, in fact, temporary, and does not reflect the final outcome of the case.”
The ‘RHOA’ Star Recently Teased What’s To Come For The Show

Sidora recently interviewed with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea to discuss “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” During the discussion, the show’s hosts mentioned the recently released midseason trailer. Regarding a moment that would be especially dramatic for viewers, Sidora teased, “Yeah, Scotland, it gets really- it goes [there].”
For context, the cast’s international trip for season 17 was to Scotland. She continued, “It goes to a place where- you have to watch it. It really explains a lot of what we’ve been seeing with Porsha and Shamea, and it kind of just comes out all on the table.”
From there, she called what was to come for the show “really tough,” saying, “we[the cast] were not ready for that.”
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs on Sunday nights on Bravo.

Doctor Who Is Officially Dead, With No Regeneration In Sight
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

In Doctor Who, our titular Doctor is an alien who can regenerate into a new body whenever he is about to die. It’s a plot convenience, of course, one that explains why our hero is so unkillable while adding an in-universe explanation for why this character keeps getting played by new actors. Over time, the franchise proved to be as unkillable as the Doctor himself: after Sylvester McCoy’s final episode in 1989, the only onscreen Who content we got for a while was that direct-to-TV movie in the ‘90s (and the less said about that, the better). However, the BBC revived the franchise in 2005 with a new era of Doctor Who.
The revival was wildly successful, recruiting new fans and making several Doctor actors (especially David Tennant) household names. Eventually, things started souring: audiences reacted negatively to new Doctor Who showrunners and stars, including Jodie Whittaker. Eventually, the BBC gambled big by bringing back the first NuWho showrunner, Russell T. Davies, and partnering with Disney+. However, these two seasons were not well-received, and the new series was quietly canceled. Fans held onto hope that we’d get a Christmas Special this year to tie up loose ends. Unfortunately, Davies just took to Instagram to confirm there will be no special, he has left the series, and that the future of Doctor Who is completely uncertain.
Sorry, Kids: Christmas Is Canceled

To understand why Doctor Who fans were so hopeful for a Christmas special, you need to understand what kind of cliffhanger the most recent season left us with. After Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor sacrificed himself to save the day, he regenerated into a new body. Not just any body, either: he regenerated as Billie Piper’s character, Rose Tyler. During the 2005 revival, Rose served as the primary Companion for both Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor and David Tennant’s Doctor. In the closing credits, instead of the usual “Introducing so-and-so as the Doctor,” we simply got “Introducing Billie Piper.” Whether she was the Doctor, Bad Wolf, or some TARDIS manifestation was left as a mystery for a future season.
Unfortunately, it looks like that mystery will never be solved. Russell T. Davies, who was the Doctor Who showrunner for the first four seasons of the 2005 revival, returned to run the most recent two seasons. Those seasons largely turned fans off, and the show was quietly canceled. Fans held onto hope that Davies would explain the Rose mystery and tie up some loose ends in an upcoming Christmas special. However, Davies took to Instagram to confirm that there would be no Christmas special, that he was exiting the franchise yet again, and that there would be an indefinite wait for new Who.
Rubbing Fans The Wrong Way

Aside from general sadness, Doctor Who fans mostly reacted to Russell T. Davies’ Instagram post with a very Dalek-like emotion: anger. Some of this anger was due to his weirdly flippant tone. For example, after claiming that he never wrote a Christmas episode and nobody new was cast as the Doctor, Davies wrote, “You may disagree; fine, sit in that chair and wait to be proved right. You’ll wait a lonnng time.” It’s, uh, kind of weird to preemptively acknowledge how many people are going to say you’re lying, dude! Like the rest of the message, this just seemed a little too flippant for an otherwise very sobering bit of news.
Mostly, though, fans are angry at Davies for casually admitting that he never wrote a Doctor Who Christmas special script and that the special was something he “cooked…up to guarantee a future when no one knew what would happen, but now we do know, there’s no need for it.” For one thing, about six months ago, Davies was teasing what was already written in his Christmas special script via a column in Doctor Who Magazine; later, Doctor Who composer Murray Gold claimed that Davies had written “multiple” scripts. Now, Davies himself admits that not only has he not written anything but that the original announcement of the special was a complete fabrication!

Many Doctor Who fans are angry with Russell T. Davies for misleading them and, arguably, helping run the franchise he revived back into the ground. Even if you love Davies, though, his Instagram post spells bad news for this long-running sci-fi show. Doctor Who can’t return until the BBC finds a new production company with the deep pockets to bring back an expensive series whose UK viewership dwindled about 82 percent from 2008 to 2023. Over the years, the series has always taken on new forms and new actors as easily as its protagonist takes on new faces. Now, though, it’s unclear if Doctor Who as a franchise will ever be able to regenerate.

Raven-Symoné Dances To ‘Spend Dat’ & Fans Mention Her Wife
Raven-Symoné and friends recently showed off their dance moves to Yung Miami’s hit song, ‘Spend Dat.’ Instantly, fans were living for the carefree moment of Rae catching a vibe at the hair salon! After The Shade Room reposted the video, the roommates started chattin’ about Rae’s energy with her own kinfolk and without her wife, Miranda Maday, glued to her side.

Raven-Symoné Still Has Dance Moves
If you ask the internet, Yung Miami is likely in the running for the unofficial title of ‘Song of the Summer.’ Her recently released track, ‘Spend Dat,’ has people in a chokehold, from running it back to randomly spewing the lyrics and participating in online dance trends. One of the latest celebrity faces to show ‘Spend Dat’ some love is Raven-Symoné. Thanks to her loctician, Jasmin Thomas, who posted the video, fans got to see Rae bust a move alongside four others. In the clip, Raven is seen laughing and smiling as she goes along with the group choreography and adds her own sauce, too.

Roommates Bring Up Raven’s “Black Side”
As mentioned, TSR reshared the video of Raven-Symoné getting down at the salon on Wednesday (June 9). Soon after posting, her fans quickly filled the comment section with over 700 written reactions and liked the video nearly 25,000 times.
While some reminisced about seeing Raven dance, like during old Disney days, others claimed she was showing off her “Black side.” To be clear, according to PEOPLE, Raven-Symoné was born to two Black parents, Lydia Gaulden and her late father Christopher B. Pearman. Her dad passed away in October 2024, less than a year after her brother died from colon cancer in November 2023. She is not mixed or biracial. Again, Raven-Symoné is Black American with family roots in Georgia and Louisiana. Full stop. Nonetheless, the roommates were cuttin’ up with comments about her “Black side” and spending time with other Black people.
Roommate @aaliyaaaah._ commented, “I love when she’s being Black.”

Miranda Maday Catches Strays After Wife’s Dancing Video
Another popular sentiment in the comment section on TSR’s page? Mentions of Miranda Maday. In recent years, Raven-Symoné’s fans have been rubbed the wrong way by comments from Miranda, including seemingly not being familiar with her wife’s extensive resume.
Back in 2024, they both attempted to correct online narratives about Miranda, particularly after hate messages allegedly escalated to death threats. In a TikTok video, Raven-Symoné asked her supporters to “stop it in the comments…stop with the death threats,” as it’s disrespectful to them both. Miranda also defended herself, clarifying that she was, at the time, familiar with her wife’s work in TV and film, but not as a child.
“I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I did not know who Raven was. I only ever said that I did not grow up watching ‘That’s So Raven.’ I did not watch her as a child,” Miranda Maday said. Adding, “But since getting married and meeting her in 2015, I have seen the majority of her work. I have also been at a lot of this work.”
Despite clearing up where she stands, it appears that Miranda left a sour taste for some supporters. And whenever Rae goes viral, Maday tends to catches stray shade—whether she’s the reason her wife is viral or not. In TSR’s comment section of the ‘Spend Dat’ dancing video, the energy was no different.
“So glad she left the wife off this one! 🙌🏾😂,” Roommate @jaeesaunzale commented.
“😂😂 she left wifey out of this one, huh?” @zeverra_ceo wrote.
“Raven living her best life like her Sponsor somewhere on a work trip 😂,” @kweenmocha added.

“It’s leaving my porcelain wife at home because I’m in the streets doing black people sh*t 😂😂😂😂😂,” @tootuftinc_ said.
“I just knew the comments were gonna be all about when Raven “is being black” and they are lmao 🔥🥂,” @truly.rare wrote.
“I wish she had a Black wife lmao Ikkkk that sound crazy but I feel like she need that in her life idkkk maybe a fly Asian lady 😂😂😂😂,” @theralaliesegoods commented.
“I noticed whenever she’s dancing itss never with her wife and the white friends 😂,” @skorpion.queen added.

Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Yellowstone’ Expands Yet Again With New Entry
Two years after ending its five-season run, Taylor Sheridan’s mega Western franchise Yellowstone is expanding yet again. As you already know, there are now five series in the franchise, including the original, which ran from June 20, 2018, to December 15, 2024, on Paramount Network and follows the Dutton family who own the largest cattle ranch in Montana, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. This year has seen two sequels debut: Marshals and Dutton Ranch, the latter of which is still airing and is currently the most popular Western on television.
Amid the continued success of the Sheridanverse, Paramount announced tentative plans during Summer Game Fest to develop Yellowstone into a video game through its new gaming division, Paramount Games Studios. The multimedia company is collaborating with action-game developer PlatinumGames on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, with plans to also make games for Star Trek, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and SpongeBob SquarePants, before moving forward with other projects, including adapting the Sheridanverse.
During an interview with Polygon, Shawn Kittelsen, head of creative and production at Paramount Games Studios, revealed more about what to expect. “All of the Yellowstone and Yellowstone-adjacent titles, Landman, Tulsa King, these are all priorities for us.” He also mentioned video game plans for Lioness, which returns for Season 3 this summer. Lioness, starring Zoe Saldaña, is Sheridan’s hit spy thriller centered on a CIA team that enlists female operatives to go undercover in life-threatening situations.
What Can Fans Expect From the Yellowstone Video Game?
With the game-changing Yellowstone update, Paramount execs want fans to know the video game will honor their devotion to the franchise. And this doesn’t mean these games will be rushed into development; top-tier quality is the utmost priority. That said, Paramount Games is taking every necessary step to select the “right partners” who work best for each IP, with the intention of working only with developers who already have a strong track record of making successful games. Kittelsen said as much while breaking down this new phase:
“If we build pillar by pillar, find the right partners, and make the right games for the audience, I think we can achieve massive success… Everything has to come from that player-first, fan-first perspective. We’re being much more selective about our partners because everything that we do, we don’t want to just spray and pray. Like we always say: we want missiles, not bullets.”
In the meantime, fans can keep up with the latest Yellowstone entry, Dutton Ranch, which premiered on Paramount+ on May 15, 2026, to conclude after nine episodes in July. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles from the mothership as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, who gamble everything on a new life in South Texas, away from their home in Montana.

General Hospital Early Spoilers June 15-19: Lucas Dies? Carly Spirals & Major Arrest
General Hospital spoilers for the week of June 15th through the 19th will reveal Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) is really dead or somehow survived three gunshots to the chest. Plus, his sister Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is acting out when she gets more desperate about her daughter.
Let’s get into what is coming the week of June 15th. And as we always do on early edition day, we start with what’s coming the rest of this week. Then we dive into next week’s action.
General Hospital: Wednesday & Thursday – Conflict at the Shower and Desperate Measures
So on Wednesday, June 10th, we’ve got Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) continuing to face off at the baby shower. This picks back up from Tuesday’s episode where Portia told Curtis he likely wasn’t going to be a good dad being basically violent and unhinged like he is. And Portia said she did Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) a favor by not letting Curtis raise her. Wow.
Where is Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) when we need him? Right. So Trina’s going to leave the baby shower upset. She was really mad at Portia, if you remember, for keeping the paternity secret. But at this point, her dad, Curtis, is being a real tool. So, this has got to be super hard on Trina. Now, hopefully her pseudo mom slash second mom, Ava Jerome (Maura West), will be there to comfort her since she is at the shower. But then Trina is going to take off to go and see her friends and vent about this issue.
General Hospital Spoilers: Stella Flips Out
So, we also have usually calm Aunt Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) going off on both Curtis and Portia and telling them if that is all they care about, then their kids are going to lose. And I’m sure that is slinging accusations at each other. And I’m sure also this is Stella thinking they need to chill out, both of them. But honestly, this is 97% on Curtis’s bad attitude. If he’s not careful and he’s convicted of felony assault, he may miss the baby’s birth and wind up with restricted visitation.
Also, Carly wants to spring into action on Wednesday. But Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) tells Carly that everything changes if they play this the wrong way. So, she may be wanting to run and report to that WSB person that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) asked them to go to. And Valentin wants to tap the brake because he doesn’t want to be back in Steinau.
General Hospital Spoilers: Dante Shocked by Bad News
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) gets some bad news. Maybe that Lucas was shot or Liesl is missing or Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) is trying to point him to Willow as the other driver that Jordan ran off the road. And speaking of Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), she’s panicking and tells Jack that since he can talk, the sooner she gives him the injection, the better. Willow gets an offer that’s hard to refuse, likely from Jack, he may promise to help Willow not turn her in.
And you know, she may be somebody who could help him get word to his WSB contact. But also, we saw that Nina ducked out of the baby shower on Tuesday. And if you recall, she was planning to head back to Turning Woods to see Jack. So, I wonder if Nina intervenes and stops Willow from trying to give Jack the shot if his offer doesn’t convince her daughter.
Also, Trina makes a big move, she may just cut both of her parents out of her life at this point. She’s venting to Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Emma and Gio saying she doesn’t want to be a part of it. So, she is done. Now, maybe it’s the showcase. But fresh off this baby shower, I tend to think that she’s done with the drama of Curtis versus Portia with a side dish of Jordan and Isaiah.
General Hospital: The Lucas Shooting Mystery
Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) is frantically smacking at Lucas’s face, asking if he can hear her. So, he’s laying unconscious after Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot him three times in the chest. But, did you notice Lucas wasn’t lying in a pool of blood? And the fact that Laura is even there is strange. And she’s not trying to apply pressure to Lucas’s chest, which is also kind of suspicious.
That’s the first thing you do to a gunshot victim. So after three bullets, Lucas should be spewing blood because the chest, the heart, all that. And he was in that odd jacket that was buttoned all the way up and practically goaded Sidwell into shooting him. So, I suspect Lucas might be in a bulletproof vest and Laura’s smacking him to try and revive him because when you get shot like that wearing a vest, it still can take your breath and knock you out.
This might have been a setup because Lucas invited Sidwell there knowing that he had caught him right by the safe. I hope Laura and Lucas were working with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and got him on tape. If so, the question is, will they turn the tables on Sidwell and blackmail him or just turn him over to the PCPD?
General Hospital: Thursday & Friday – New Schemes and High-Profile Arrests
Thursday, June 11th, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) cook up a new scheme. I wouldn’t be surprised if they took off trying to find Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), thinking they can fly under the radar and Cullum won’t follow them. Sonny is surprised. So, he’s going to hear from Kristina this week about medical school. And Friday may actually be her last air date. That’s not confirmed. But several signs point to it.
Nina reaches out to not Nathan. So this may be about whether he has seen Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) because you know she got snatched up. So I kind of doubt he’s going to tell Nina who he is. I think he’s going to keep that circle of trust close on his identity. I do expect as long as Liesl is stuck at Wyndemere he will keep pretending to be Nathan to everybody else.
Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) impresses Molly Lansing (Kristen Vaganos). We’ll see what it’s about. But I’m excited to see Kelly Krueger make her debut in July as his sister Serena.
General Hospital Spoilers: Valentin Cautions Carly
Valentin cautions Carly. He already warned her on Wednesday to be careful. Obviously, Valentin thinks that warning bears repeating and Ava is bothered by her conscience.
Then on Friday, June 12th, Willow faces Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) wrath and this may be about the Chase job offer. Also, Sonny is helping Brooklyn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) makes a good case by the end of the week and this may be in her conversation with Kristina about medical school.
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) makes an arrest and it’s very high-profile. So, it feels like one of two things. Could be Sidwell for trying to murder Lucas or it could be Willow for the trumped up allegations about her being the second driver in Jordan’s accident. I’m guessing Sidwell. But we will see.
Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean Parsons) weighs his options, so he might be having some second thoughts about Phoebe. This week, Ethan has another important talk with Alexis.

General Hospital: June 15th-19th – The Search for Josslyn and Family Revelations
Then the week of June 15th through the 19th, Carly’s getting more desperate to find Josslyn. And the sooner Jack is out of Turning Woods, the better because he might be able to get a bead on her. But Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) remains a big problem. Liesl is going to have to work on Faison’s final project and finish the prototype because she doesn’t want Josslyn or Cody at risk. I’m kind of excited to see Liesl and Cody doing mother and son bonding since she’s sad about Nathan. But also thrilled that she’s got another son.
Charlotte and Danny may land in trouble again for this latest plot. We’ve heard from our leaker that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco are supposed to be on the run for all of June. So, it looks like they return or are found as July sweeps kicks off starting June 25th on General Hospital.
General Hospital Spoilers: BLQ on a Mission
Brook Lynn and Sonny work together. But it may be easier getting Sidwell out of deception if he is the one that Chase arrest this week. Plus, Trina’s frustrations are evident, understandable, and mounting. The question is, will she go confront Curtis and Portia and let them know that as long as they are at each other’s throats, she is not going to be around and playing these reindeer games. I’m sure that Trina will show up for her baby sibling’s birth. But she can still avoid her parents in the meantime.
Tracy’s keeping a very close eye on Chase. She does not trust him one single bit. And Ethan may get closer to Ava and I would definitely be here for that. We’ll see. Cuz she needs a man in her life and she doesn’t really need a good man. She does a lot better when she’s got a schemer on her arm.

The Jeff Bridges Dystopian Sci-Fi Movie Streaming For Free
By Doug Norrie
| Published

When it comes to icons of Hollywood, Jeff Bridges, with his raw charisma and seasoned acting chops, undoubtedly makes the list. In a career spanning decades, Bridges has taken on roles that linger long in memory, etching moments of cinematic magic. And the dude is still kicking today. Which is why it’s cool to see him starring in The Giver, a dystopian sci-fi drama that’s currently available to stream for free.
This dystopian tale sees Bridges not only as a key character but also as a driving force behind the film’s creation. If you’re looking for a deep dive into a world where emotions and memories are regulated commodities, then The Giver will definitely do the trick.
A Dystopian Adaptation

The Giver, based on the beloved young adult novel by Lois Lowry, paints a picture of a future society that has traded depth of feeling and memory for the illusion of peace and simplicity.
In this colorless, seemingly utopian world, all pain, war, and emotions have been eradicated. Every aspect of life is controlled, from the jobs citizens will hold to their family units, ensuring that there’s no room for chaos or unpredictability.
In the heart of this society stands the Receiver of Memory, a sole individual entrusted with holding onto the past. Jeff Bridges, with his signature gravitas, brings to life the current Receiver, who’s tasked with passing on the world’s memories to the next appointed individual.

Enter Jonas, played by the talented Brenton Thwaites, a young boy chosen to inherit the position and its accompanying emotional weight. As Jonas undergoes the process, he’s exposed to an array of emotions, from the joy of sled rides to the horrors of war, revealing the true cost of his society’s supposed tranquillity.
Guiding Jonas through this turbulent journey, Jeff Bridges’ character, later dubbed The Giver, becomes a mentor and beacon of truth, challenging Jonas to question the very fabric of their existence.
The Need To Preserve History

The duo is complemented by a remarkable cast including Meryl Streep as the Chief Elder, the leader of the community with a staunch belief in the system, and Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgård as Jonas’s assigned parents, figures that exemplify the society’s detached demeanor.
Odeya Rush plays Fiona, Jonas’s interest, and a symbol of the natural human connections that the community suppresses.

Director Phillip Noyce weaves this intricate tale, touching on profound themes of memory, individuality, and the essence of humanity. Throughout The Giver, Jeff Bridges acts as the linchpin, embodying the pain of the past and the hope for a more genuine future, navigating Jonas and the audience through the stark contrast between the real and the artificially manufactured.
The film not only poses challenging questions about society and morality but also showcases the power of human connection and the importance of preserving our collective history.
The Reception To Jeff Bridges And The Giver

The Giver arrived in theaters with high expectations, thanks to the cherished status of Lois Lowry’s source material. From a box office standpoint, the film enjoyed moderate success. Released in August 2014, it grossed around $67 million globally against a production budget of approximately $25 million, proving that audiences were curious about this cinematic adaptation of a much-loved novel.
Critically, however, The Giver garnered a mixed reception. On one hand, some lauded the film for its performances, particularly that of Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. The dystopian narrative, rich with thought-provoking themes, also earned praise from several quarters. On the flip side, many critics felt that the film didn’t capture the full depth and nuances of the book, leading to challenges in fully conveying the story’s emotional weight. There were also concerns about the film’s pacing and certain changes made in adapting the story for the big screen. It’s sitting at a paltry 34 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Giver is currently available to stream for free on Pluto TV, Sling TV, Fandango at Home, and The CW. While critics were divided on the adaptation, there’s still something to be said for giving it a second chance, especially for Jeff Bridges’ performance as the keeper of a world’s forgotten memories.
