Keith Urban was reportedly left “stunned” by his daughter Sunday Rose‘s Instagram jab after she unfollowed him on the social media platform.

Rose, whom the country singer shares with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, has solidly backed her famous mother since her parents’ split, with the latest move making it clear whose side she’s on.

Keith Urban previously spoke about raising his daughters, saying he had to “break the chain” so as to ensure they didn’t grow up in the same kind of environment he grew up in.

Urban made headlines this week after his daughter, Sunday Rose, made a pointed statement by publicly unfollowing him on Instagram.

Although she later followed him again, reports suggest the move “stung” the country star as it wasn’t done by accident, but rather shows where things are between father and daughter following his split from their mom.

According to a new report, the move left the “Somebody Like You” singer unsettled and stunned, adding that he’s aware of what is going on and knows it’s more than just social media.

“Sunday knew exactly what she was doing,” an insider said. “It was a pointed move, and Keith got the message loud and clear.”

At the time, multiple sources told TMZ that people within Kidman’s circle believed Urban had immediately gotten with another woman after the actress filed for divorce. One insider even said that rumors of his fling were “all over Nashville” at the time.

Reports suggested then that they’d been living separately before the split; however, it was never confirmed whether or not he cheated on her.

“Nicole was the one who told her to take the high road and cut it out,” an insider told Rob Shuter. “She understood why Sunday was upset, but she also knew making it public would only make things worse.”

“The girls have a lot of love for their dad, but there is hurt, too,” the source added. “Sunday has been especially vocal about it.”

Urban, who still follows Rose and Kidman, is understandably “hurt” by the incident.

“Keith is hurt,” a source said. “He knows this wasn’t just about Instagram. It was personal.”

“[The girls] are completely team Nicole and, right now, Keith is the bad guy. He is the cause of every problem in their minds, and it’s harrowing for him,” the source told Daily Mail.

“He’s really distraught about it. He loves those girls, but they are so angry at him, and they’re blaming him,” the insider continued. “I don’t even think this is Nicole painting a narrative; this is the girls coming to this conclusion on their own.”

Rose’s Instagram move against her dad, Urban, comes just a few weeks after Kidman revealed the powerful advice she gave her daughters about their future during a speaking engagement at the University of San Francisco for the college’s Silk Speaker Series.

“I told them that the decisions you’re making now will affect your life, but also things will change as nothing is set in stone,” she said, per Sky News. “And primarily trying to create emotional stability is important for them so that they can feel like the world is their oyster.”

The actress added, “I told them you’re going to have an incredible future, but it can be incredibly overwhelming.”
