Kelly Rowland Gets Candid About Her Close Relationship With Her Crew Of Celebrity Friends
Speaking with PEOPLE, Rowland, who stars in the recently released Prime Video movie “Relationship Goals,” detailed what goes on behind the scenes in her relationship with some of the industry’s biggest stars.
“I’ve known them for so long,” Rowland said. “They hold me accountable when I am figuring things out. They love me through my ugly. We laugh together, we experience joy together, we experience honesty together, life together, and that’s the best part.”

Kelly Rowland Has Been Close With Beyoncé Since They Were Kids
Hearing about Rowland’s relationship with Beyoncé isn’t a surprise, considering the two women rose to fame together as part of the chart-topping girl group Destiny’s Child.
The two formed an unbreakable bond during their early years together—something that’s remained just as solid today as it did over three decades ago.
In early February 2026, Beyoncé even shared a carousel of images of her and Rowland together to celebrate the “Dilemma” singer’s birthday.
“#RelationshipGoals,” Beyoncé captioned the post. “Happy Birthday, Kelly.”

Kelly Rowland Is Just As Close With Her ‘Bonus’ Mom
Rowland’s bond with Beyoncé doesn’t end with her. According to an earlier report from The Blast, Rowland has also grown extremely close with the “Single Ladies” singer’s mom, Tina Knowles, whom she calls her “bonus” mom.
During a podcast appearance, Rowland gushed about their close-knit relationship, stating that Mama T has known Rowland since she was a young girl. “You gotta remember, I’ve known my Mama T for that long,” she said. “She knows everything about me. My mannerisms, my tone when I call her. She knows when I’m happy just by one tone.”
For Rowland, her relationship with Tina means more to her than people likely realize. She called Tina, who used to design costumes for Destiny’s Child, her “safe space” before sharing how much having “two moms” means to her.

“I can’t believe that God thought the most of me to give me two moms that can give me that great amount of love, and then give me sisters as well with Bey, and Angie [Beyince], and Solange,” she said. The amount of love he’s given me through people I can never repay him for.”

How Ciara And Rowland Became Close Friends
As for her relationship with singer Ciara, Rowland told PEOPLE that while their relationship is still growing, the pair became especially close after their children were born.
“We really became tight when our children were born. And now they’re both 11 years old. It’s a beautiful thing, I’m so grateful for my girlfriend-hoods, It’s just amazing. My she-cosystem,” Rowland said.
Ciara, too, gave Rowland a special birthday shoutout on social media, sharing a throwback TikTok of the pair dancing to Rowland’s 2007 hit single “Like This.”
“Happy Birthday to the most amazing woman, Mamma, sister, & friend,” the caption read. “It’s never a dull moment when we’re together!”
Rowland Talks Filming With Method Man In New Amazon Movie
Rowland’s new film, “Relationship Goals,” also starring rapper Method Man, is now available to stream on Prime Video.
In a separate interview with PEOPLE, Rowland opened up about the moment she knew Method Man, known for his time in the rap group Wu-Tang Clan, would be the perfect leading man.
“When we did our chemistry read, that was the cherry on top for me,” she said. “As soon as he did and he grabbed his little pillow I was like [to director Linda Mendoza], ‘It’s him!’ And it was very vulnerable. We’ve never seen Cliff, ‘Method Man,’ like this.”
Method Man also spoke highly about working with the Grammy-winning singer on camera, calling her a “consummate professional.”

“I knew that I would have a great relationship with Kelly because everything I’d heard about her was totally true,” he said. “So, yeah, I mean, the chemistry was a given for me, honestly.”
