QVC fashion designer Kim Gravel is reacting to a shopper who called into her show with an unforgettable testimonial.

“I loved it!” Gravel, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, March 16, of the caller’s unconventional fashion confession. “That’s the fun of live TV. You never know what a caller is going to say. Moments like that are exactly why I love taking calls during shows. It reminds me that we’re all just women having a good time talking about clothes — and apparently tassels!”

Over the weekend, QVC shared a clip of a woman named Maryanne praising Gravel’s clothes.

“I wanted to tell you that I got that blouse with the tassels, and I used to wear the tassels on my pasties,” the caller said. “Do you know what pasties are? Well, I had tassels on my pasties.”

During the live — and unscripted — moment, QVC program host Mary DeAngelis quickly stepped out of the shot, likely to hide her full reaction.

As for Gravel, she kept the conversation going and praised the shopper for sharing her story.

“Maryanne, I just want to say this: You are my emotional support diva,” Gravel said. “You have just made my whole entire day. Mary’s walked off. She’s dead on the couch. Maryanne is my sister from another mister.”

DeAngelis, 50, added, “I’m having therapy with Maryanne right now.”

Gravel is one of QVC’s top fashion designers and was previously named the network’s vendor of the year. In addition to her fashion brand, Belle by Kim Gravel, she also has her Love Who You Are beauty line.

Her next project is a digital course titled Selling With Soul. Launching Tuesday, March 17, the eight-module digital course breaks down Gravel’s exact playbook behind generating over $1.4 billion in live sales.

Some QVC shoppers can’t help but make a connection with some of the network’s products — and hosts. Over the years, viewers have developed close bonds with longtime program hosts who have a gift of selling everything from fashion and beauty products to food and electronics. Every so often, some of the program hosts decide […]

Selling With Soul is built on the belief that live selling is a conversation, not a performance,” Gravel shared in a statement to Us. “When you focus on genuine connection and create a space where people feel valued, the audience responds and the business grows in an authentic, sustainable way.”

As for live phone calls, Gravel previously told Us that she has no idea what to expect when the program hosts welcome in a shopper during a show.

“Not only do I [not] know what to expect, but QVC doesn’t,” she told Us in May 2025. “It is truly, authentically the customer calling in. And you never know what they’re gonna say. They never tell you in your ear, ‘She’s gonna ask you about this.’ All you see on the screen is their name and where they’re from. That’s it.”
