Kristin Cavallari Gets Real About Dating Younger Men
Kristin Cavallari has no issues with age-gap relationships.
“I love this era for us!” Cavallari, 39, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, April 11, after being asked about the trend of younger men dating older women. “I think older women are just more confident in their skin. Not as many games and not afraid to ask for what they need/want.”
She continued, “I think, for women, it’s just really fun and traditionally a little ‘bad,’ which just makes it even more fun. I love seeing us breaking rules, ladies.”
Cavallari dated TikTok star Mark Estes for seven months in 2024 despite their 13-year age difference, which she later admitted contributed to their split.
“It’s hard because I broke up with Mark because I just know long-term it’s not right,” she said on an October 2024 episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “It’s not because of love lost or something bad happened. No one cheated. No one was mean. No one did anything. Those breakups are always the hardest I think because it’s almost easier if the guy does something that makes you hate him.”
Cavallari added at the time, “Mark has been nothing but so sweet and so supportive. He’s always been there. He’s been the best boyfriend I’ve ever had. I just know long-term he needs to experience life.”
Cavallari was previously married to retired football star Jay Cutler, with whom she shares three kids, from 2013 to 2020. In the years since her divorce, Cavallari has been candid about her willingness to re-enter the dating pool.
“I’m not looking. For the last year or so, dating has not been a priority,” she exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. “Honestly, even if I met Mr. Right today, I don’t know how he would fit into my life at the moment.”
According to Cavallari, her life is “full right now” between raising her kids and her work commitments.
“I realistically have every other weekend … when my kids were at their dad’s house,” the Uncommon James founder said. “I had a whole weekend to myself. I could do whatever I wanted. I didn’t have to see anybody, and I loved that. I’m not ready to give that up. I really value alone time. That’s how I recharge my batteries.”
Cavallari also recently reunited with her high school friends on Roku’s Laguna Beach reunion special. Costar Talan Torriero, for his part, is hopeful that Cavallari will eventually find The One.
“She obviously has a very high standard, and she has a very long, long list for what she looks for in a guy,” Torreiro, 39, told Us in a separate interview earlier this month. “[But] she’s a catch, right? I mean, she’s successful. She’s beautiful. She’s got a great relationship with her kids. She’s just got it going on. I understand why her list is so long. She deserves to find that guy, and I know she will. It’s around the corner.”
