Goo Goo Dolls Want In On Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding plans remain under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped one star from offering his services.

John Rzeznik, the founder, guitarist, and frontman of the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, recently expressed willingness to perform at the power couple’s highly anticipated union.

The singer is no stranger to Taylor Swift, as they previously collaborated during the “Bad Blood” hitmaker’s 2011 Speak Now tour. John Rzeznik’s comments follow claims of some guests possibly skipping the upcoming wedding.

Rzeznik shared his desire to perform at Swift and Kelce’s wedding during an interview at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas. “If I were asked, I would do it,” the singer declared. His relationship with Swift began in 2011 during her Speak Now World Tour.

At the time, Rzeznik and Swift performed the Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 hit song “Iris” at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The younger singer hailed the track as “one of the best songs ever written,” but it wasn’t this statement that made her unforgettable in Rzeznik’s heart.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame honoree told PEOPLE that what impressed him the most about Swift was her maturity. “At the time she was still very young, and I expected a bunch of handlers to come and deal with me because I was a guest, but she did,” Rzeznik recalled, adding:

“I just remember thinking, ‘This woman’s got her sh-t together.’”

The Soon-To-Be Groom Is Allegedly Still Struggling With One Aspect Of His Fiancée’s Life

While Rzeznik is happy to perform at Swift and Kelce’s wedding, the soon-to-be groom is reportedly still trying to get used to his fiancée’s celebrity world. Sources spilled the tea on Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice,” claiming Kelce wasn’t used to Swift’s security detail.

According to these sources, Kelce understands why Swift needs extraordinary protection, but it still feels unnatural to be surrounded by bodyguards. “Taylor’s life operates like a military operation. There are armored SUVs, armed guards, advance teams, private entrances, constant surveillance,” one insider said.

They shared that the heavy-duty protection was “still shocking” to Kelce, who also struggles with leaving Swift’s protection to the pros. “He wants to be the one protecting her. That’s part of how Travis sees himself,” the source added. Friends echoed similar sentiments, noting Kelce has become more protective of Swift.

The NFL Star’s Love Is Greater Than His Displeasure

Another source explained that Kelce “is happiest when life feels normal,” noting he has a naturally spontaneous personality. However, he could not have random nights out or make last-minute plans with Swift, whose “every movement has to be coordinated in advance.”

Despite these restrictions, the source stressed that Kelce remains committed to walking down the aisle with Swift. “He hates the limitations. But he loves Taylor more than he hates any of it,” they declared. The couple’s feelings go both ways, with Swift reportedly in love with her fiancé’s wild side.

Sources sang tales of Swift’s love for Kelce to Shuter after many speculated that she was embarrassed after the NFL star chugged a beer on camera. One source explained that Swift has always been aware of Kelce’s loud and playful personality and “she adores every bit of it.”

The Grammy Winner Loves Her ‘Refreshingly Real’ Fiancé

Another insider weighed in on Swift’s feelings for Kelce, noting that fans who assumed she was embarrassed by him were off the mark. According to the insider, people needed to stop comparing Kelce to Swift’s exes.

They described the singer’s ex-lovers as “polished” and “artistic,” stressing that Kelce’s spontaneous personality made him stand out from Swift’s past flames. “After years of complicated, image-conscious relationships, Travis feels refreshingly real,” the insider said.

They hailed the NFL star as “confident, grounded, and completely comfortable in his own skin.” Other sources agreed, claiming Kelce’s authenticity is one of the reasons why his romance with Swift grows stronger daily. These claims followed a wild moment at the Cavaliers game, where Swift covered her face while Kelce chugged a beer.

Some Guests Are Allegedly On The Fence About Attending Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Wedding

The love between Swift and Kelce is set to be officially cemented at their union; however, the details about the event remain unknown. Days earlier, The Blast reported that a source had shed light on the guest situation for the big day, revealing some attendees were not allowed a plus one.

The restriction sparked feelings of frustration and unfair treatment, with the source noting that they felt uncomfortable attending the event without a partner. On that note, some guests were allegedly contemplating making a solo appearance at the wedding.

The restriction aside, the venue of the wedding ceremony remains unknown, with sources claiming guests would likely learn the location on the wedding day. So far, July 3 has been widely reported to be the D-day, but Swift and Kelce remain silent about their preparations.

Woman Found Guilty of Fatally Beating Boyfriend’s Daughter, 4

Couple Placed Corpse of 8-Year-Old Girl in U-Haul After Her Death From Abuse, Drove Her Remains Across Country

A Louisiana woman was found guilty after she fatally beat her boyfriend’s 4-year-old daughter in a dungeon-like room.

The Vernon Parish District Attorney’s Office announced in a press release on Thursday, May 21, that Terrie Ann Gray was convicted of first-degree murder and second-degree child abuse in connection to the death of Athena Miller. Gray, 49, was also found guilty of second-degree child cruelty for abusing Athena’s 2-year-old brother.

Authorities learned about the abuse when cops were called to a home in Leesville on November 6, 2024, after they received a call about an unresponsive child, per the release. Athena was rushed to a local hospital and was later transferred to a trauma center, where she died on November 7, 2024.

A medical examiner ultimately determined Athena’s cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

A woman and her boyfriend from Washington state learned their fate after they were arrested for taking her 8-year-old adopted daughter’s body on a road trip across the country after she died from abuse and starvation. The Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said in a statement that Mandie Miller was sentenced to serve 32 years […]

Athena and her brother started living with Gray just a few months before the young girl’s death. Their father, Logan Miller, has also been charged with abuse and is scheduled to go to trial beginning on October 19.

The girl died from “cardiopulmonary arrest, intracranial bilateral hemorrhaging, and non-accidental injuries from child abuse,” according to a courtroom report by KPLC.

Child-abuse pediatrician Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez took the stand and told jurors that Athena suffered from bruises, abrasions, lacerations and burns, which covered her body from head to toe. Rodriguez added that Athena’s injuries were clearly inflicted by someone else and were not the result of an accident, per the outlet.

Rodriguez also told the jury that the case had made a major impact on her. “I have not had many cases where it took me a while to be OK days after,” she said, according to KPLC.

Miller also reportedly took the stand during the trial, though he refused to answer questions about the case and pleaded the Fifth Amendment.

However, he initially confirmed while being questioned that he lived at the address on record, that he and Gray were in a romantic relationship and that he stayed with Gray, Athena and her younger brother at the time of the girl’s death.

Prosecutors said that Gray and Miller held the children in a dungeon-like room, claiming that Gray “hated Athena.” During the closing arguments, prosecutor Lea Hall reportedly showed photos of the horrific injuries that Gray inflicted on Athena.

The Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said in a statement that Mandie Miller was sentenced to serve 32 years […]

However, defense attorney Antonio Sparks said there was no evidence that Gray was the one who inflicted the abuse on Athena and there was no proof that she hated the child.

After Gray was found guilty, Vernon Parish District Attorney Terry Lambright issued a statement about the case’s outcome.

“I want to thank everyone involved in the investigation, preparation, and prosecution of this case. I would especially like to thank the family of the victims. My office will continue to seek to hold people accountable for horrific crimes such as these,” Lambright said, per the release. “This was a very difficult case for everyone involved to include the jury who had to view all of the evidence as it was presented at trial. Dealing with the mistreatment of children is one of the hardest things we have to face. I am very thankful the jury listened to the evidence and returned a just verdict.”

Gray is scheduled to be sentenced during a hearing on August 25. The only possible sentence for first-degree murder under Louisiana law is mandatory life in prison without the benefit of probation or parole, per the release.

10 Forgotten Sci-Fi Movies That Are Perfect From Start to Finish

Published

on

A masked man in The Face of Another.

Lots of science fiction movies slip through the cracks because they arrived at the wrong time, only finding audiences years or even decades later. Often, these are the films that took strange risks: paranoid identity puzzles, philosophical nightmares, low-budget cosmic mysteries, or surreal dystopias.

This list looks at some of these films, from neon-soaked cyberpunk thrillers to existential mind-benders. While the titles below aren’t that obscure, they’re still the kinds of movies that many sci-fi fans might not have gotten around to seeing yet. They provide fascinating, thought-provoking stories guaranteed to stay with the audience long after the screen fades to black.

‘The Face of Another’ (1966)

“Do you think a face is just something you wear?” This Japanese New Wave gem centers on a disfigured man (frequent Akira Kurosawa collaborator Tatsuya Nakadai) who undergoes an experimental procedure to receive a lifelike mask, allowing him to re-enter society. However, as he adopts a new face, he also adopts a new personality and a new identity, testing boundaries he never would have crossed before, including attempting to seduce his own wife (Machiko Kyō).

The sci-fi elements are minimal here, used more as a springboard for existential musings. Who are we without the face others recognize? How much of morality is tied to identity? On release, The Face of Another flopped internationally, with most critics finding it inferior to director Hiroshi Teshigahara‘s earlier effort, Woman in the Dunes. However, it rewards those who stick with it with a lot of food for thought.

‘Enemy Mine’ (1985)

Denis Quaid next to an alien in Enemy Mine Image via 20th Century Studios

“You are my enemy… but you are also my friend.” In this one, two soldiers from opposing species crash-land on a hostile planet and are forced to survive together. They are human pilot Davidge (Dennis Quaid) and his reptilian Drac enemy, Jeriba (Louis Gossett Jr.), and they must overcome mutual hatred if they hope to have any chance of enduring the planet’s harsh conditions. This quirky space-opera setup builds up into an entertaining story about friendship.

Enemy Mine was directed (of all people) by Das Boot‘s Wolfgang Petersen, and he gets ambitious with the themes, going way beyond your average ’80s sci-fi flick. The film delves surprisingly deep into Drac psychology and society, telling us a lot about their religion, family structures, and ideas about lineage and honor. Ideas aside, Petersen also serves up some wonderful practical effects here that give the movie some old-school charm.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

‘The Hidden’ (1987)

“How do you like being human?” What if a violent criminal could jump from body to body, leaving a trail of chaos behind while wearing the faces of ordinary people? That’s the pulpy, kinetic premise of The Hidden, a movie that confidently blends sci-fi, action, thriller, and even touches of horror. Kyle MacLachlan and Michael Nouri lead the cast as the FBI agents tracking the killer, who turns out to be a parasitic alien that transfers between hosts.

The flick moves with relentless momentum from its opening scene, hitting us with one killer chase sequence after another. It becomes a tense cat-and-mouse game, with the entity constantly shifting identities, forcing the protagonists to think on their feet. It’s the kind of movie that should not work but does thanks to committed stars and some confident direction.

‘Cube’ (1997)

“There is no conspiracy. Nobody is in charge.” Another simple but juicy setup: a group of strangers wakes up inside a massive, maze-like structure made of interconnected cubes, many of which are rigged with deadly traps. The characters attempt to navigate the shifting labyrinth, but international tensions and eroding trust threaten to be almost as dangerous as the cube itself. This powerful concept keeps us hooked, proving good sci-fi doesn’t need elaborate effects.

Indeed, despite its tiny budget, the production design creates an iconic sci-fi setting using little more than a single modular cube room lit in different colors. That said, the real focus is on the characters and their psychology. Cube is a study in human dynamics under pressure. Each character represents different ways people respond to crisis: rationality, aggression, fear, compassion, selfishness and denial. They’re a microcosm of society facing calamity.

‘Mystery Men’ (1999)

“We’ve got a blind date with destiny… and it looks like she’s ordered the lobster.” The gleefully absurd Mystery Men tells the story of an incompetent team of second-tier superheroes who become their city’s last hope. These wannabe crimefighters (each with a barely useful power) include Shoveler (William H. Macy), whose weapon of choice is, you guessed it, a shovel; the Blue Raja (Hank Azaria), who throws cutlery; and Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), who draws power from anger.

The movie flopped hard on release, bringing in just $33.5m against a $68m budget. However, that failure was partly because it was ahead of its time, satirizing comic book tropes long before the genre became dominant. Today, though, Mystery Men feels remarkably modern, and you can see traces of it in later genre comedies and unconventional superhero stories. A fun send-up of/love letter to the genre.

‘Seconds’ (1966)

A still from the movie 'Seconds' (1966)
A still from the movie ‘Seconds’ (1966)
Image via Paramount Pictures
Advertisement

“How many times have you wanted to start over?” This one has some parallels with The Face of Another, even coming out in the same year. Seconds follows Arthur Hamilton (John Randolph), a middle-aged banker who is secretly recruited by a mysterious organization offering clients a second chance at life. He becomes “Tony Wilson” (Rock Hudson), a younger, more artistically inclined version of himself, and is placed into a carefully constructed new existence.

At first, it feels liberating, but cracks begin to form almost immediately. The relationships are hollow, the experiences curated, and the protagonist’s sense of self grows increasingly unstable. Wish fulfillment curdles into existential horror. The visuals reflect sp, with stark and surreal black-and-white imagery and distorted wide-angle lenses. Many of Seconds‘ ideas ring even truer today in our world of online personas and social media performance.

‘The Faculty’ (1998)

Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood are standing next to each other, and others are standing behind them in The Faculty.
Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood are standing next to each other, and others are standing behind them in The Faculty.

“I always thought it would be the jocks or the popular girls who’d take over the world… but it’s the teachers.” This banger from Robert Rodriguez fuses teen drama with invasion horror, mostly pulling off its tonal balance through sheer confidence. In it, a bunch of high school students (played by the likes of Jordana Brewster, Elijah Wood, and Josh Hartnett) begin to suspect that their teachers are being taken over by a parasitic alien species.

The characters are forced to work together as the infection spreads, testing who is still human and who has already been replaced. It’s like Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets The Thing meets My So-Called Life. What makes the movie endure is its self-awareness. It clearly loves older sci-fi invasion films and constantly references them, but it never feels smug or cynical about its influences.

‘Dark City’ (1998)

“First, there was darkness. Then came the strangers.” Dark City, directed by The Crow‘s Alex Proyas, is one of the great sci-fi noirs. The underrated Rufus Sewell leads the cast as a man who wakes up with no memory, in a city that never sees daylight, pursued by mysterious figures who can reshape reality itself. Soon, both the police and the “Strangers” are hunting him for reasons that slowly begin to reveal themselves. Around him, the city shifts, buildings rearrange, identities blur, and memory becomes the key to understanding everything.

From here, the movie feels like a nightmare assembled from memories of classic detective stories, German Expressionism, dystopian sci-fi, Edward Hopper paintings, and psychological horror. The atmosphere is immersive, the visual design is creative and memorable, and the philosophical aspects get surprisingly deep. The protagonist’s journey becomes a search for authentic selfhood in a manipulated reality.

‘Strange Days’ (1995)

Angela Bassett as Mace staring at Ralph Fiennes as Lenny in Strange Days (1995)
Angela Bassett as Mace staring at Ralph Fiennes as Lenny in Strange Days (1995)
Image via 20th Century Studios

“This is life. It’s a piece of somebody’s life. Pure and uncut.” Ralph Fiennes turns in a typically strong lead performance here as Lenny Nero, a former cop turned dealer of memory recordings. This technology allows people to experience someone else’s life as if it were their own. However, he gets more than he bargained for after receiving a particularly disturbing clip that entangles him in a murder conspiracy.

Another case of a movie arriving before audiences were ready, Strange Days made a devastating loss at the box office, but it feels uncannily prophetic in hindsight. Long before conversations about social media addiction, doomscrolling, VR escapism, and livestream culture became mainstream, the film was already warning about a society obsessed with consuming reality secondhand instead of actually living it.

‘Coherence’ (2013)

A group of people looking in the same direction in Coherence - 2013
Coherence – 2013
Image via Oscilloscope Laboratories

“I think this night is not going the way it was supposed to.” Coherence is a poster child for economical filmmaking, creating a fantastic sci-fi tale with a small cast, a single location, an 89-minute runtime, and a micro budget. It’s about a group of friends who gather for a dinner party on the night a comet passes overhead, and slowly realize that reality itself is beginning to fracture. They discover that multiple versions of their house, and themselves, may be overlapping, with dark consequences.

The rules of the phenomenon are never fully explained, but they’re consistent enough to create a sense of escalating dread, and a big part of the fun is watching the characters try to figure out ways of enduring this ordeal. It all builds up to a brilliantly grim conclusion, the perfect payoff for everything that’s come before.

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

Summer Walker and London On Da Track recently had a rare reunion that had fans screaming “Aww.” And nope, it had nothing to do with romance, but everything to do with parenting! The ex-couple garnered online attention after posing together with their daughter, Bubbles Renee Walker, for her kindergarten graduation.

Summer Walker & London On Da Track Pose With Their Daughter

As mentioned, the photo of Summer Walker, London and their daughter surfaced on social media late last week. The trio posed against a black curtain, decorated with a sign reading “CONGRATULATIONS” and featuring balloons. Bubbles was wearing a bright yellow cap and gown with what appeared to be a white dress or skirt underneath and white ballet sandals. Her hair was braided with beads. Meanwhile, her parents both had on black ‘fits. London On Da Track was posing on the left of Bubbles, stooped and holding a small bouquet of pink and purple flowers. Summer Walker was also stooped beside her eldest child, on the left side and looking at what appeared to be a sheet of paper.  It’s unclear whether the parents celebrated Bubbles’ accomplishment outside of the actual graduation.

Social Media Reacts To Bubbles’ Graduation Photo

In The Shade Room’s comment section, more than 1,300 roommates weighed in on Bubbles’ beauty and growth! A few even joked about getting the parents back in the studio. Again, the photo represents a rare appearance of the five-year-old on social media. Summer Walker has been known to only post photos with her kids’ faces covered or not post them at all. In fact, this surfaced photo was reportedly shared by London On Da Track via Instagram.

“She look just like her daddy. So cute,” @hellahendrix commented.

“This is progress. Y’all can get back in the studio now,” @goldencapricorn3 suggested.

No More Deadbeat Dad?

If asked in 2022, Summer Walker might’ve called London On Da Track “the worst baby daddy on the face of the planet.” Those are exact words she used in June of that year to describe Bubbles father. At the time, she didn’t share why she felt that way but it wasn’t the first time she had blasted him online. Almost a year before, in August 2021, she called him a deadbeat dad, claiming her then-boyfriend Larry was helping raise Bubbles. London On Da Track ultimately clapped back, alleging she’s lying and that he spares her in consideration of her mental health.

Fast-forward to August 2024 and it appeared that Summer Walker still felt the same way about London On Da Track. And she wasn’t alone. That same month, Summer agreed with London’s other co-parent Eboni, who had claimed their daughter Paris was waiting on her father since the Christmas prior. These days it’s unclear where exactly Summer Walker and London stand, especially in terms of coparenting, but it seems there’s enough peace for a family graduation photo!

Linda Perry Shares Honest Feedback About Madonna’s Music

Published

Madonna arriving at her hotel in Paris

Madonna is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated 15th studio album, “Confessions 2,” the sequel to her 2005 release, “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” Now, ahead of the new LP, acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer Linda Perry is giving brutally honest feedback about the 67-year-old’s most recent music.

The criticism from Perry comes as Madonna’s duet with Sabrina Carpenter, “Bring Your Love,” has failed to gain steam so far ahead of the new album, set for release on July 3.

Perry interviewed with Consequence in May 2026 to discuss her new album, “Let It Die Here,” as well as her documentary. During the discussion, the music icon was asked to share her bucket list, which included a desire to work with Madonna.

Perry noted, “The one that’s always like a thorn in my side because I don’t know why I want to do this, she’s turned me down so many times.” After that, the beloved music producer and songwriter offered Madonna some advice.

She said, “When Madonna’s ready to retire, she should make that album with me because I’ll make her such a great album because right now, one of the biggest problems I’m having with Madonna… of late, I feel she is a follower. She’s following the trends. She’s trying to compete with Charlie XCX and this and that.”

During her assessment of Madonna’s new music, Perry made sure to list the things she admires about her. This includes reiterating how much of a true force Madonna is and how powerful she’s always been as a pop star.

However, she then said, “Like everything about her seems weak to me and not powerful.” Regarding recording with the “Hung Up” singer, Perry joked that she’d “love to get that woman in a studio, slap her in the face a couple of times and say ‘wake up, get back to who Madonna is and what you represent.’”

Perry also stated that if she were working with Madonna, she’d “focus on the power of what her voice can do” instead of relying on “the power of what autotune and effects can do.” After that, she said she’d want to make more of an acoustic album with Madonna that she could “sit down and sing to a crowd.”

Madonna is still one of the most revered pop stars of all time. Because of this, she retains a vibrant fanbase spanning multiple generations. Now, many of those fans are weighing in, with the majority of them slamming Perry as someone who wants attention.

One person said on X, “WHEN MADONNA IS READY TO RETIRE……..is when I tuned out. If Linda Perry, you approached her like that, 10 times or so, yeah, no wonder she turned you down. If that’s your initial thought process, meh, no wonder she turned you down again and again. Wake up. She’s still not ready for a sit-down album at Carnegie Hall. Try in another 10 years.”

Someone else said, “What in the world is trend chasing about her latest album, ‘Madame X?’ Have you even heard songs like ‘Batuka’ or ‘Dark Ballet? Seriously? At least do your research first before using tired lies full of hyperbole.”

A different social media user said, “Another one who drags Madonna to get her name in the press! GURL BYE.”

However, at least one of her fans saw Perry’s vision. They wrote, “I hope Madonna hears this message from Linda. I think they could wrap up her career with a phenomenal album. The two singles released from her latest album are very bland and not groundbreaking. Madonna is a groundbreaking artist, but if this is her final album, she’ll have faded.”

Perry has written and worked on some of the most beloved music of all time. In recent months, “What’s Up,” performed by the band 4 Non Blondes, of which Perry is the lead singer, has gone viral on social media. Perry attended the American Music Awards in May 2026 and reacted to the resurgence. In fact, the song was nominated in the Best Throwback Song category.

She said to Entertainment Tonight, “The song was written in the ’90s, and it was a protest song in a sense, and to me, we’re just 30 years later mirroring some of the same problems. So, I think it has a new life because we’re still asking the question, ‘What’s going on?”

Perry also shared that 4 Non Blondes has a new album coming out.

Perry released her first album since 1999, “Let It Die Here,” in May 2026. The 17-song release was preceded by “Beautiful,” Perry’s version of the single she wrote for Christina Aguilera‘s 2002 album, “Stripped.”

Her documentary, “Linda Perry: Let It Die Here,” had its world premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Festival. According to Deadline, it then had a limited theatrical release in May 2026.

Life looks very different for Jennifer Lopez these days following her split from Ben Affleck.

After months of renovations and major changes behind the scenes, the singer has finally settled into her lavish new Hidden Hills estate.

Insiders now say the glamorous property has become a symbol of freedom, family, and a fresh chapter after the end of her marriage.

Jennifer Lopez has officially moved into the sprawling Hidden Hills mansion she purchased following her divorce from Ben Affleck.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer spent nearly a year transforming the property before finally making it feel fully her own. The result, insiders say, is a home that perfectly matches the star’s personality and current phase of life.

“Jennifer is living inside her new property and is thrilled about it because it is like her very own Barbie dreamhouse,” a source told the outlet.

The insider described the mansion as playful, glamorous, and heavily influenced by feminine touches throughout.

They shared, “It is girly and fun with pink and white colors, very feminine and yummy. She is over the moon about it and really living out her ‘happy phase’ with no one to tell her what to do or how to behave. She is free.”

The source also revealed that the home reminds Lopez of another property she treasures deeply.

“She also loves that the home reminds her of her Hamptons property, which she is ‘very happy with and where she has had so many great family moments,’” the insider added.

Jennifer Lopez Shares First Look Inside Mansion

Earlier this week, Lopez offered fans their first glimpse inside the newly completed compound.

The actress and singer shared photos from the massive property located in the exclusive Hidden Hills neighborhood, where celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner also own homes.

In several images, Lopez posed by the pool wearing a white bikini while enjoying time with family and close friends at the residence.

Her twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with Marc Anthony, were present during the gathering alongside her parents, Guadalupe and David.

Manager Benny Medina and vocal coach Stevie Mackey also joined the intimate family moment. Photographer Ana Carballosa and stylist Shawn “Beezy” Barton were additionally spotted at the estate.

The luxurious property spans roughly 8,600 square feet and sits on 2.5 acres of land. Mature trees surround the estate, giving Lopez significant privacy from neighboring homes.

Inside the residence are five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, a custom movie theater, and multiple guest spaces.

The compound also features a pool house, swimming pool, hot tub, and full equestrian facilities complete with a private riding arena and five-stall barn.

Before Lopez purchased the mansion, the estate belonged to John Fogerty.

The renovations reportedly began shortly after Jennifer Lopez purchased the Hidden Hills home in February 2025.

Sources previously revealed the singer invested heavily into redesigning nearly every part of the estate to fit her exact vision.

“Jennifer is renovating the home to her satisfaction,” an insider previously told the Daily Mail. “She is spending a lot of money because it’s big: there is the main house, the pool house and a guest house.”

The source also explained that Lopez has a long-standing habit of redesigning every property she buys.

The insider said the “On The Floor” singer “renovates every home she moves into because she wants a certain look, the JLo touch, which makes the place her very own.”

Last summer, blue tarps could still be seen covering portions of the mansion while construction crews continued working across the property.

Now, after months of upgrades, Lopez appears fully settled into the estate and embracing life there as a single mother.

Before relocating to Hidden Hills, Jennifer Lopez spent the last three years living with Affleck inside their enormous Bel Air mansion.

The former couple reportedly struggled to sell the $60 million estate after their breakup despite the property’s luxurious features, which include a tennis court, infinity pool, and guest house.

According to TMZ, Affleck eventually decided to walk away from his share of the property entirely.

Sources told the publication the actor “gave up” his entire interest the mansion “for free,” leaving Lopez positioned to receive any eventual profits from the sale.

In April, Lopez reportedly relisted the property at a reduced price of $50 million.

The mansion’s listing described it as “the ultimate celebrity compound.”

The promotional description continued, “Set within one of the city’s most secure gated enclaves, this newly rebuilt estate spans five acres on a commanding promontory, opening to sweeping mountain views and complete seclusion.”

The Insane Reactions to Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Are Part of a Bigger Problem Hollywood Can’t Ignore

Published

on

Agamemnon in The Odyssey

In a year full of major releases, Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey has cemented itself as one of 2026’s most anticipated films. An adaptation of the legendary poem by Homer, The Odyssey features an ensemble cast led by Matt Damon, with Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson among many other big names slated to appear. Warner Bros. is so confident in it that they sold a limited number of tickets for The Odyssey a whole year in advance.

Despite all of these pieces, a great cast led by an Oscar-winning director who is adapting a story beloved by millions, reactions to the promotions — from the first images to the latest trailer — have been surprisingly negative. While not universal, the blowback became a major talking point for online criticism of The Odyssey, with some lamenting the accents, the anachronistic dialogue, and the set design. The reaction to The Odyssey trailer is the latest example of a growing phenomenon where negativity — not legitimate criticism — becomes the dominant form of engagement long before audiences actually see the final product. It is a problem that has existed for years, but has become all the more prevalent in the age of social media, and begs the question: Can Hollywood keep ignoring it?

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Is Already a Victim of the Negativity Economy

This isn’t a problem unique to The Odyssey. In fact, few franchises catch more flak than Star Wars. The recent hit The Mandalorian and Grogu marks Star Wars’ return to the big screen for the first time since 2019’s Rise of Skywalker. However, as excitement for the TV series cooled, so did the franchise’s ability to count on its own fanbase to generate buzz for the movie. Every casting rumor, cameo, or narrative decision in the series became a battleground for online discourse. Star Wars fans became less concerned with the quality of the stories and more interested in the ongoing culture war surrounding ownership of beloved franchises.

The Odyssey is the latest instance in which audiences have begun judging the film prematurely by criticizing scenes, casting, costumes, and dialogue without the context needed to make such criticism meaningful. Some reactions were fair, many rooted in personal preference, but as the discussion continued, it became clear that much of it was elevated to outrage-driven discourse designed to cause negativity to swirl. Negativity fuels outrage, and clips are dissected frame by frame and speculation and rumors are treated as fact, letting audiences do the work for those who profit on the outrage, such as those with large social media platforms.

New Historical Masterpiece Reveals One of the Best Trailers of 2026

The film stars Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Matt Damon.

Reactions to the trailer for The Odyssey reflect a broader trend within entertainment culture over the last decade. Modern fandoms, such as Star Wars or even shows like The Pitt, are now built on these negative ecosystems. The increasingly binary approach to discussions leaves little room for nuance or creative decision-making. Christopher Nolan’s choices in The Odyssey are examined under a microscope, and people know that balanced criticism doesn’t get clicks anymore, but outrage does. There is a difference between criticism and outrage: One engages with the work itself; the other thrives on the anticipation of chaos.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Is Being Attacked for Casting

The “politics” of The Odyssey seem to center on one area more than others: casting. A-listers such as Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong’o will all appear in supporting, but important roles. Which actor was portraying which character was kept hidden for much of the promotion, but Nolan revealed in a recent interview that Nyong’o will portray Helen of Troy in the film. Despite Nyong’o being an Oscar winner, the casting drew online scrutiny, given that she is a Black woman and Helen, a fictional character, is described as fair-skinned.

Elsewhere, Elliot Page is rumored to be portraying the ghost of the Greek hero Achilles in The Odyssey, and while it has not been confirmed, the rumor has added fuel to the fire. The casting of Page, a trans man, was immediately criticized and compared to Brad Pitt‘s portrayal of the character in 2004’s Troy. Even though Page’s role has yet to be confirmed, the online outrage had all the information it needed to keep the cycle going.

As franchises and fandoms continue to dominate popular culture, studios and audiences face a difficult question: has outrage become the defining language of entertainment criticism? Hollywood cannot “fix” toxic culture on its own. At the end of the day, it is the consumer who bears responsibility for how movies and television are interacted with, discussed, and criticized.

Alix Earle Left Emotional By A Blast From The Past

Published

on

Braxton Berrios and Alix Earle at the 8th Annual REVOLVE Festival 2025

Alix Earle was caught in a surge of emotions after running into her ex, Braxton Berrios.

The social media influencer did not hold back, detailing the emotional moment as she spoke to her fans on TikTok. Giving viewers a glimpse into the full experience as she did her nighttime routine on screen, she tried to reenact some of the scenes while putting her thoughts and emotions into words.

Alix Earle and the NFL wide receiver broke up last December after dating for over two years. Over the years of their relationship, they were spotted together on simple outings and at public events, showing support for each other.

Earle gave her fans the tea of a recent run-in with her ex-boyfriend, Berrios, saying it was a “cry-maxing” emotionally heavy scene for her. She explained the sequence of events as she cleaned off her makeup and dressed in her comfy pajama set.

She said that her eyes were “a tad bit puffy” as she applied her cleansing balm before narrating the encounter with Berrios.

Earl shared that she saw her ex that night, immediately noting that they were on good terms, following their recent breakup. “It was normal and fine, and we were joking around with each other,” she said of their meetup.

The influencer then explained in the TikTok how a solo picture led her to reflect on their romantic days. “Someone that we both are friends with was taking photos of us together, and then it was like, ‘Oh, Alix, get a solo shot,’” she said, adding that she pushed him out of the way to get her solo photo.

“It was funny and fun, and then it wasn’t,” she said, explaining that from that moment, she spent the rest of the night with her eyes wandering around the room looking for Berrios. “I think that really sucked, catching myself doing that,” the podcaster declared.

“It’s hard when you see someone for a second, and it’s fun and normal, but that’s just a dose of it – that’s done. That started to hit me,” Earle continued before sharing that she tried to dance and sing the feelings off.

According to Earl, some of her friends noticed and asked if she was crying, which she later admitted to because sometimes feelings spiral out of control.

“Sometimes you’re just a girl, and sometimes water just falls out of your eyes,” she added, reassuring herself and viewers that it is okay to let tears roll when things like these happen.

The social media personality then shared that she went home and let her emotions loose by crying to her dog, after which she felt better. Earle concluded her video, telling fans that she was sharing her experience for others in similar situations to relate to the ordeal.

Some fans in the comments praised her for being vulnerable and speaking out, while others urged Berrios to reach out to her and rekindle their romance.

Earle, who rose to fame from posting TikTok videos in 2020, majorly documenting her life as a student at the University of Miami, was linked to the NFL wide receiver in 2023.

She recalled meeting Berrios at a party in February 2023, and two weeks after they met, he invited her to the Super Bowl.

At that time, Earle insisted that they were “nothing but friends,” especially due to her uncertainty about his relationship status.

Rumors started circulating the following month after she hinted on TikTok that she might be dating someone. She said she was making sushi for dinner for someone special in the video but did not disclose a name.

In May, a fan posted that she met the influencer and Berrios together at a restaurant in Miami, and later that month, the athlete reportedly attended her graduation. They were spotted at other events, and in one of Earle’s videos, a man’s hand was featured.

In another video, a clip of her hugging a man whose face was hidden from the camera, fuelled fans’ speculations. Through all the call-outs, the podcaster insisted that they were not dating.

BRIDES reports that the former couple had their red carpet debut in July at the 2023 ESPY Awards but were still keeping things casual at the time.

It was not until November, after several outings, including attending Berrios’ NFL games, that she confirmed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she was officially in a relationship.

One thing Earle will not do is hold back on the juicy details. In March, she appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” to promote her skincare line, where she admitted to making a late-night drunk decision she now regrets.

The influencer was asked to share the last bad idea she had, to which she replied with a laugh, “Oh, my gosh. Probably texting my ex at, like, five in the morning after going out.” She admitted that it was not the best idea at the time before explaining how the moment went down.

The Blast reported that although Earle did not disclose the ex she was talking about, she told viewers without hesitation that she had just had a few drinks on a night out before sending the text.

Her sister entered the picture, helping her to proofread the text. In her words, “If you’re gonna send this, at least send it with it all spelled correctly.”

The podcaster noted that she felt a swell of confidence shortly after sending the message, which did not last long, as she felt “terrible” when she came to.

Alix Earle Says She Is All In For Age Gap Relationships

The media personality has been recently linked to 48-year-old football legend Tom Brady. In addressing the rumors, Earle made a revelation about the dating regulations she sticks to. She shared that she does not get involved romantically with people in the same age bracket as her.

Earl disclosed that she went on a date with a guy who was a year older than her but regretted it, saying, “I can’t do it again.” This may not come as a huge surprise, as there is a five-year age gap between the podcaster and her most recent ex, Berrios.

She defended her notion, stating that when she spent time with someone close to her age, she simply didn’t feel like she was with a true man. Earle further explained that she piques interest in older partners because she wants someone who can take care of her.

As reported by The Blast, the TikToker admitted to having gone overboard sometimes with the gap. “Sometimes then I’ve gone too far the other end, and I’m like, ‘Grandpa!’” she joked.

Earle and Brady sparked rumors after they were spotted together at a yacht party in St. Barts during the New Year’s Eve celebrations, more so because they appeared at the exact same high-profile event in Las Vegas.

Could this be the restart of something for Alix Earle?

‘Talk to Me’ Meets ‘It Follows’ in Twisted New Look at NEON’s Next Horror Movie

Published

on

cu0xnxlzjgpei0mscojkgneeckz.jpg

The Sundance Film Festival has a history of introducing the world to some of the greatest horror movies ever to come to screens, from The Blair Witch Project to American Psycho, Ari Aster‘s Hereditary, and Jordan Peele‘s Get Out. In 2026, there was once again a singular breakout hit with critics that’s now about to arrive in theaters — Leviticus. An LGBTQ+ coming-of-age horror romance hailing from Australia, the film was widely hailed for the emotional relationship at its center, combined with an eerie atmosphere and a unique monster premise that plays to its leads’ desires. Ahead of its arrival next month, we’re thrilled to include the title as part of Collider’s Exclusive Summer Preview and share a chilling new sneak peek from the film.

Leviticus is led by Joe Bird, previously seen in Danny and Michael Philippou‘s smash-hit feature debut Talk to Me, and Stacy Clausen, who most recently starred in the Phoebe Dynevor-led disaster thriller Thrash at Netflix. They play star-crossed teenage boys, Naim and Ryan, who are magnetically attracted to each other amid their blossoming sexuality, yet are confronted with religious fanaticism in their isolated Australian town, trying to purge them of their feelings for one another. Their lives take an even darker turn, however, when they are haunted by a malevolent supernatural entity that dons the visage of the person they most desire. For Naim and Ryan, that person is each other, and they quickly realize that no matter where they run, there’s no stopping the entity from pursuing them.

Adrian Chiarella both wrote and directed the film in his feature debut, aiming to show horrors both frighteningly and unfortunately real in addition to its creative It Follows-esque monster. Speaking to Collider’s Perri Nemiroff at Sundance, he explained how his story was partly shaped by the true accounts of frightening practices, from conversion therapy to exorcisms, employed to “cure” LGBTQ+ people of their feelings, which he believed “sounded like a horror movie.” The result is a creepy, yet sensual film that plays on desire and the persistence of queer love in the face of hatred. Yet, when he started fleshing everything out, Chiarella realized he needed to create a central creature that reflected and enhanced these themes.

“But when I started writing and started doing good old-fashioned free writing and sitting there with the pen and paper and just writing to myself about what I wanted to do and what I wanted to explore, it clicked for me when I knew that I had to find a monster to do a horror movie. Every horror movie has some sort of monster, whether it’s a physical one or a metaphorical one, or it’s a natural thing. I knew that the monster in this had to be something that took the form of what you most desired. It had to prey on your own desires. When I knew that, then I knew I had a film.”

Camp Crystal Lake · Friday the 13th

Jason Voorhees

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.

  • He moves in straight lines toward his target. He doesn’t strategise, doesn’t adapt, doesn’t outsmart. He simply pursues.
  • Your ability to keep moving, use the environment, and resist the panic that freezes most victims gives you a genuine edge.
  • The Crystal Lake survivors were always the ones who stopped running in circles and started thinking about terrain, water, and distance.
  • You think like that. Which means Jason, for all his indestructibility, would face someone who simply refused to be where he expected.

Haddonfield, Illinois · Halloween

Michael Myers

Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.

  • But you are paying attention. You notice the shape in the window, the car parked slightly wrong, the silence where there should be sound.
  • Michael’s power lies in the invisibility of ordinary suburbia — the fact that nothing ever looks wrong until it already is.
  • Your spatial awareness and instinct to map every room, every exit, and every shadow before you need them is precisely the quality Laurie Strode had.
  • You are not a victim waiting to happen. You are someone who already suspects something is wrong — and acts on it.

Elm Street · A Nightmare on Elm Street

Freddy Krueger

Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.

  • You are harder to destabilise than most. You’ve faced uncomfortable truths about yourself and you haven’t looked away.
  • The survivors on Elm Street were always the ones who understood what was happening and chose to face it rather than flee from it.
  • Freddy’s greatest weakness is that his power evaporates in the presence of someone who refuses to give him the fear he feeds on.
  • Your psychological resilience — the ability to stay grounded when reality itself becomes unreliable — is exactly the quality that keeps you alive here.

Derry, Maine · It

Pennywise

Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.

  • The Losers Club didn’t survive because they were braver than everyone else. They survived because they faced their fears together, and faced them honestly.
  • You ask the questions others avoid. You look directly at what frightens you rather than turning away.
  • That directness — the refusal to let fear fester in the dark — is Pennywise’s worst nightmare.
  • It chose the wrong target when it chose you. You are exactly the kind of person whose fear tastes like nothing at all.

Chicago · Child’s Play

Chucky

Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.

  • You don’t have that gap. You take threats seriously regardless of how they present — and you never make the mistake of underestimating something because of its size or appearance.
  • Chucky relies on surprise, on the delay between recognition and response. You close that delay faster than almost anyone.
  • Your instinct to treat every unfamiliar thing with appropriate scepticism — rather than dismissing it because it seems absurd — is the exact quality that keeps you breathing.
  • Against Chucky, not laughing is already winning. You are very good at not laughing.

Upon debuting Leviticus, Chiarella found a big fan in NEON, which quickly snapped up the much-lauded feature for release.
