Has Surgery for Broken Leg After Olympic Crash
Published
Lindsey Vonn is in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery to repair a broken leg she suffered during her violent crash in the women’s downhill at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
Team officials and hospital staff say the skiing legend is recovering and expected to be okay after the procedure, which stabilized the fracture she suffered early Sunday in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Vonn’s Olympic bid came to a frightening end just seconds into her downhill run on Sunday, when she lost control and tumbled hard down the Olympia delle Tofane course. The impact left her on the snow in visible pain before medical personnel rushed in.
With concerns over her injuries on the mountain, rescuers airlifted Vonn off the slope by helicopter. She was rushed first to a local clinic and later transferred to a larger hospital in Treviso for surgery and care.
The crash marked a heartbreaking culmination to Vonn’s emotional comeback. Just days earlier, she had confirmed she would compete in Milan-Cortina despite suffering a completely ruptured ACL in her left knee during a World Cup downhill race and skiing with a rebuilt right knee that included a titanium implant.
Vonn’s attempt to make history as one of the oldest Olympic downhill competitors came with massive fan support in the Italian Alps. Moments after the crash, the crowd and fellow skiers alike watched in stunned silence as she was tended to on the snow.

Jordon Hudson Seemingly Trolls Robert Kraft’s Prostitution Bust Amid SB LX
Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is seemingly trolling Patriots owner Robert Kraft ahead of Super Bowl LX.
According to pictures obtained by TMZ on Sunday, February 8, Hudson, 24, was seen wearing a T-shirt from Orchids of Asia Day Spa while appearing alongside her boyfriend, 73, on Saturday, February 7, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
For the uninitiated, Orchids of Asia Day Spa is the Florida massage parlor associated with Kraft’s 2019 prostitution bust. In January of that year, Kraft was accused of paying for sex acts after a months-long investigation into the Jupiter, Florida, establishment. The NFL owner pleaded not guilty, though he issued a public apology for his actions.
“I am truly sorry,” Kraft said in a written statement at the time. “I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, and our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard.”
He continued at the time, “Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women.”
While Kraft — along with 24 additional defendants — was offered a pretrial deal as part of a deferred prosecution program often offered to first-time offenders, the charges against Kraft were dropped in September 2020 after the prosecution lost a court decision that ruled key video and audio surveillance of Kraft allegedly soliciting a woman at the spa inadmissible.
“Although there was probable cause to make an arrest, the evidence cannot prove all legally required elements of the crime alleged and is insufficient to support a criminal prosecution,” a court filing by the office of Palm Beach State Attorney Dave Aronberg read at the time, per NBC News.

Jordon Hudson, Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick Getty Images
“Without these videos, we cannot move forward with our prosecutions and thus we are ethically compelled to drop the case against all the defendants,” Aronberg reiterated during a news conference.
While Belichick and Kraft won six Super Bowl Championships together during Belichick’s tenure with the team, they have seemingly had a tumultuous relationship since the former coach’s 2023 retirement.
“As I told Robert multiple times through the years, I took a big risk by taking the New England Patriots head coaching job,” Belichick told ESPN in July 2025 after the Patriots owner claimed he was the one who took a “big risk” in hiring Belichick after losing record with the Cleveland Browns.
“I already had an opportunity to be the Head Coach of the New York Jets, but the ownership situation as unstable,” Belichick continued at the time. “I had been warned by multiple previous Patriots’ coaches, as well as other members of other NFL organizations and the media, that the New England job was going to come with many internal obstacles. I made it clear that we would have to change the way the team was managed to regain the previously attained success.”
Hudson, who met Belichick in 2021 on a flight from Massachusetts to Florida, is known for standing behind and beside her boyfriend, who is 49 years her senior. After reports surfaced that Belichick would not be a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee despite being arguably the best head coach in NFL history, Hudson clapped back via Instagram.
“Hey @profootballhof, what were the ‘unforeseen circumstances’?” the former college cheerleader captioned the post, along with a screenshot of an email notifying her of a canceled order from the Pro Football Hall of Fame online store.

Jeff Probst Says Return Of The Live Finale Is Just For ‘Survivor 50’
“Survivor” fans have been reveling in the long-awaited return of the live finale for the upcoming 50th season of the CBS reality show. However, that excitement may be short-lived.
Jeff Probst has revealed that the live finale is likely a one-season event, with no plans to continue beyond the milestone season. The veteran host discussed the complicated dynamics of picking a cast for Season 50. He also admitted that production has yet to map out what the franchise will look like after the landmark season concludes.
And whatever that future holds, Probst made it clear that it will most likely not include the return of live finales.

The Live Finale Returns In The Upcoming ‘Survivor’ Season 50

Probst announced the return of the live finale for Season 50 of “Survivor” during a special promo that aired at the 83rdGolden Globe Awards in January 2026.
“That’s right! You voted; the finale is back! See you in Los Angeles,” Probst said in the ad, as reported by EntertainmentNow.
The last time “Survivor” held a traditional live finale was at the conclusion of Season 39. Season 40 featured a cast of Sole Survivors only and was initially expected to culminate with a live reunion.
However, those plans were scrapped following the outbreak of COVID-19, with the finale held remotely instead.
Pre-taped on-location reunions have defined the franchise in the seasons since.

Jeff Probst Laments The Cost Of Filming A Live Finale

The reason Probst has made it clear that the return of the live finale for Season 50 only is purely a financial decision, not a creative one.
Speaking at SCAD TVfest last week, Probst explained that CBS would be footing the bill for the show to the tune of millions of dollars.
“You also have to sometimes put your producer hat on and say, ‘This show costs millions,’” Probst said. “This one [immediately after the voting in Fiji] costs nothing.”
Because of that cost imbalance, he suggested that hosting a live finale again after Season 50 would be difficult to justify.
“Issue for me is it’ll be really fun to do, but it’s millions of dollars, and if it’s not 50, I’m not sure we’ll do it again in 51,” Probst said.

Fans Refuse To Believe CBS Cannot Afford A Live Finale
The news that there wouldn’t be a live reunion from Season 51 onwards has not been received very well by fans on social media.
One user on X questioned how CBS would be unable to afford live finale episodes in modern day, having done so for years.
“Survivor’ is 1/3 shorter now than when they did live finales,” the fan wrote. “’Survivor’ is now making 30 minutes more in ad revenue every week. But we can’t afford a live finale????”

Jeff Probst Admits The Future Of ‘Survivor’ Is Uncertain Beyond Season 50

While Probst has all but confirmed that live reunions are unlikely to continue beyond “Survivor’s” 50th season, he also admitted that the franchise’s future after that remains largely undefined.
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Probst was asked about his plans for the long-running CBS competition series after the landmark installment, his response was candid.
“I can’t even… even you asking me that, oh my God! I have no idea for 51.”
Probst insisted that his focus remains on delivering a memorable Season 50 but admitted that the looming pressure is part of what keeps the job exciting.
“I just want to get through 50 with this incredible group of people,” Probst said. “But yes, it will be breathing down our neck. That is the fun that comes with the job… the pressure.”

Jeff Probst Believes It Was ‘Impossible’ To Have A ‘Perfect Cast’ For Season 50
Despite expressing his excitement about the lineup that production assembled for Season 50, Probst acknowledged that creating a universally agreed-upon cast was never a realistic goal.
“I don’t think so,” he said when asked about the possibility in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s always going to be subjective. And for this cast, a lot of people weighed in.”
Even so, Probst insisted that he was very happy with the choices they made for the all-returnee season.

Mando and Grogu Get Help From a ‘Yellowstone’ Star in Adorable Super Bowl Ad
When Disney+ launched back in 2019, there wasn’t all that much streaming on the platform aside from Marvel movies, Star Wars films, and National Geographic programming. However, Disney knew it couldn’t enter the streaming game without a compelling original series to kick things off, so it hung its hat on The Mandalorian, a new Star Wars story following a rogue bounty hunter who finds himself on a journey with a young Force user who is the same species as Yoda. The show was a smash hit, earning two more seasons and not-so-quietly blossoming into one of Disney’s biggest properties.
The Mandalorian most recently aired a season in 2023, and after the conclusion of the third season, it was unclear how and if things were going to continue. Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, had shown up in other projects such as The Book of Boba Fett, and other characters from Ahsoka and even the original trilogy had helped the story find a larger scope. It wasn’t until January 2024 that Star Wars officially announced that the next chapter of The Mandalorian would not come in a fourth season, but instead in a big-screen movie titled The Mandalorian and Grogu. It will be the first theatrical Star Wars movie since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is currently scheduled for release on May 22, and marketing for the film is in full swing. Disney even released a surprising new trailer for the film at the Super Bowl. It’s not so much a trailer as it is an adorable look at Mando and Grogu riding on a sled led by Tauntauns. Even better, the ad is narrated by none other than Yellowstone and Landman star Sam Elliot. Whether Elliott appears in the movie remains to be seen. The months between now and release will certainly be full of TV spots and featurettes full of new footage, though.
What Is ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ About?
Plot specifics about The Mandalorian and Grogu are being kept under wraps. All that’s been confirmed about the film’s plot so far is that it will be a brand new Star Wars adventure featuring Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu. Jon Favreau wrote and directed The Mandalorian and Grogu with help from new Lucasfilm President Dave Filoni on the script, and the film has recruited other massive stars such as Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) and Sigourney Weaver (Avatar: Fire and Ash) to star. It will be set after the events of The Mandalorian Season 3.
Watch the new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu above and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the film.

Brad Pitt Returns as Cliff Booth in Surprise ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ Sequel Trailer
Viewers got a surprise first look at The Adventures of Cliff Booth during Super Bowl LIX. The sequel to 2019’s smash hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as the title would imply, will follow Brad Pitt‘s Cliff Booth, stuntman, handyman, and alleged wife-murderer in a new escapade in mid-century Los Angeles. The film is set to be released some time later this year.
In the new trailer, Cliff is decoupled from his onetime partner Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), but has a new partner in crime in the form of Elizabeth Debicki. What exactly they’re getting up to is unspecified, but Rick is pretty sure it’s a “good story.” In fact, it’s too good a story for all the kids and sensitive types watching the biggest football game of the year, so Netflix has made sure it’s been sanitized for our protection, censoring all the substance use, cursing, and copious nudity with faux film scratches, possibly as a partial homage to Pitt’s rogue projectionist Tyler Durden in Fight Club…which was also helmed by The Adventures of Cliff Booth‘s David Fincher. However, despite the censorship, we still get some excellent 1970s action scored to a cover of the classic Peter Gunn theme.
What Do We Know About ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’?
Unlike its predecessor, which was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino,
The Adventures of Cliff Booth will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.

The Most Hated Star Wars Planet Was Written To Be So Much Cooler
By Chris Snellgrove
| Updated

Most Star Wars fans agree that Endor is the lamest planet (Yes, technically a moon, stop typing that comment!) in the entire galaxy far, far away. Visually, it’s no more exciting than any given forest, and to make matters worse, it’s crawling with annoying little Ewoks. However, what most Star Wars fans don’t realize is that Endor was written to be much, much cooler: in the earliest drafts of Return of the Jedi, it orbited the planet that would later become Coruscant.
Earlier drafts of Return of the Jedi were very different from the final movie: for example, the Empire had two different Death Stars that were in orbit around a humble moon. The script identified this as a “Green Moon,” one that went by the goofy name of Jus-Endor before it was changed to (ahem) just Endor. In the finished Return of the Jedi, there is nothing remarkable about the planet that this forest moon orbits; it’s a rather boring gas giant that never has any real impact on the canon.
Endor Oribited Had Abaddon

However, in the rough draft script for Return of the Jedi, the forest moon orbited a planet called Had Abaddon. Up to this point in Star Wars, all of the planets that we had seen were defined by singular themes: Tatooine was a desert planet, Hoth was an ice planet, and so on. What made Had Abbadon special was that it was a city planet whose entire surface was one big, sprawling metropolis.
This wasn’t just any city planet, though: it was the home of the Empire. That early Return of the Jedi script located the Imperial Palace on Had Abbadon, and this was where Emperor Palpatine sat in his throne room. Originally, Luke Skywalker was going to have to confront Palpatine on this planet; also, the throne room was surrounded by lava (no, really!), and Luke was going to have to duel Darth Vader in an environment so fiery it gave Mustafar a run for its money.
So, what happened to this cool concept? In later drafts of Return of the Jedi, Palpatine’s throne room was moved aboard the second Death Star. This made the presence of an Imperial city planet feel a bit superfluous to the plot, so Had Abbadon was written out of the movie altogether.
Timothy Zahn Invented Coruscant

However, later Star Wars creators really fell in love with the idea of the Empire ruling the galaxy from the comfort of a sprawling, city-covered planet. One of those creators was Timothy Zahn, whose groundbreaking novel Heir to the Empire introduced fan-favorite characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade. In his books, he wrote about the Rebels establishing the seat of the New Republic in the Imperial Center of this planet; however, disliking the name Had Abbadon (it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue), he named this planet Coruscant.
This was during the height of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, so Zahn’s name stuck around: countless other writers included Coruscant (complete with its new name) in their books. Interestingly, the first time we ever saw this planet onscreen was during cutscenes for the seminal 1994 video game, TIE Fighter. Just like that, a revolutionary flight sim brought to life the planet that George Lucas came so close to showing us in 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
Coruscant Finally Appears On The Big Screen

Things came full circle in 1999, when George Lucas put Coruscant (once again imagined as a city planet) in The Phantom Menace. As for Had Abbadon, it was briefly revived in the Star Wars EU as a separate planet, one that served as a source of power for Darth Krayt in the popular Star Wars: Legacy comics. However, this comic was decanonized after Disney purchased Star Wars, and in the current canon, “Had Abaddon” is merely the name of a mysterious, unknown system in the Deep Core.
As for the Forest Moon of Endor, it remained pretty unexciting in almost all of the drafts of Return of the Jedi; after all, there’s only so much you can do to make teddy bears and redwood trees seem very interesting. Once upon a time, though, this moon happened to orbit the seat of power for an Empire that ruled the entire galaxy, one with a throne room filled with lava. Honestly, it doesn’t get much cooler (er, hotter?) than that, and anyone who says otherwise is a laser-brained nerf herder.

How A Firefly-Style Sci-Fi Series Got Five Seasons And No One Noticed
By Jonathan Klotz and Joshua Tyler | Published

The 1990s and the early 2000’s delivered tons of wild, fun, televised science fiction, but that seemed to fade away in the 2010s. It was replaced by super serious programming like Battlestar Galactica and The Expanse, with little lighthearted adventure left for sci-fi fans.
One show, though, dared to be different. It bucked the trend and delivered a series of fun space adventures, quietly earning five full seasons in the process.
Lost in a haze of twenty-teens angst, almost no one seemed to notice, but it’s time to change that. This is Why Killjoys Failed.
Firefly wasn’t the first series to use the sci-fi-Western mashup, but it did popularize it. To this day, it is what people think of when they hear “space western.” Decades later, it has become common for sci-fi shows to incorporate aspects of Westerns into their world-building and storytelling. Though it lacks the dusters and six-shooters, Killjoys captures that same spirit of the old West.
Following a trio of bounty hunters that are constantly outgunned and often on the run from one group or another, it doesn’t hit like Firefly, but scratches the same itch. A Killjoy is a bounty hunter. In the first episode, we meet our “heroes,” Dutch and Johnny, as they take a kill warrant for Andras on what seems like a routine mission.

It turns out, though, that “Andras” is actually Johnny’s brother D’avin, so instead, they find a way to nullify the kill warrant. D’avin joins them as a brand-new member of the Killjoys and, thus, becomes the audience surrogate for learning about the rough-and-tumble business.
That’s only the first two episodes of Killjoys, which soon falls into a rhythm of episodic adventures combined with the usual mythology arc playing out in the background. Unlike some sci-fi shows that can’t find the right balance, this SyFy original keeps things moving from the word “go.”

The Killjoys are working as officers for the RAC (Reclamation Apprehension Coalition), one of many factions in the universe. It all revolves around Old Town, an industrial city essentially controlled by The Company, a massive conglomerate that has a stranglehold on trade and commerce. You can see where the conflict in Killjoys is going, but as with any series about life on the edge of society, allegiances can change with the wind.
During its run on SyFy, Killjoys received widespread praise for the surprising depth of its world. Unlike Firefly, which didn’t have time to explain much of the workings of the Inner Planets, this series delves deep into politics, subterfuge, and secret plots involving immortal super soldiers.
Why Killjoys Failed

Killjoys never really got the credit it deserved during its run, but the SyFy channel treated it well. It was canceled after 5 seasons, but SyFy allowed it to finish on its own terms, something genre television almost never gets.
Despite getting five seasons, Killjoys never really blew up big on the radar of most science fiction fans, and today, only a few years after the show ended its run in 2019, it’s all but forgotten. What happened? Why isn’t it a bigger part of the conversation?

The thing about Killjoys is that it’s very much a spiritual successor to not only Firefly but also Farscape. In an era of super serious sci-fi, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and remains fairly light-hearted throughout.
However, that is both a positive and, to some, a negative. Killjoys never reaches the emotional depth of its contemporaries, like The Expanse or Dark Matter. And we have to admit, it’s reflected in the show’s acting, which is passable but doesn’t go beyond “B-tier sci-fi series.”

To some, that’s a good thing. If you start watching the show for a good time that’s exactly what you’ll get. You get a lot of it too, as there’s plenty to binge.
One of our favorite things about Killjoys is the fun that the crew had with the episode titles, which are all either puns or references, from “How to Kill Friends and Influence People” to “The Hullen Have Eyes” and, what we hope is a purposeful reference to Blake Lively’s greatest line-reading of all time, “Wargasm.” That immediately lets you know the level of seriousness the show maintains, and you’re now either excited to check it out or want to stay far, far away.

As a show on television in an era of super serious TV, an era in which people were so against even the notion of comedy that Hollywood stopped making them, it’s easy to understand why Killjoys may never have seen the success it might have deserved.

Team USA Shares Update on Lindsey Vonn After 2026 Olympics Crash
Lindsey Vonn sustained another injury after she crashed during her Sunday, February 8, ski run at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
An Italian hospital said Vonn “underwent an orthopedic operation to stabilize a fracture reported in her left leg” on Sunday and that she was being “treated by a multidisciplinary team.”
“She’ll be OK, but it’s going to be a bit of a process,” U.S. Ski and Snowboard’s chief of sport Anouk Patty said on Sunday. “This sport’s brutal and people need to remember when they’re watching [that] these athletes are throwing themselves down a mountain and going really, really fast.”
Earlier in the day, the Ski and Snowboard team said Vonn was “in stable condition.”
Vonn, 41, crashed 13 seconds into her women’s downhill run, where she was subsequently heard screaming in pain. The pro athlete was immediately airlifted off the course, similarly to what occurred after she crashed and tore her ACL nine days earlier at a World Cup Race in Switzerland.
The 2026 Olympics were meant to be Vonn’s big comeback to the sport. Despite retiring in 2019, Vonn decided to make a competitive return in 2024.
“Just getting to these Olympics has been a journey, and one that some did not believe in from the start,” Vonn wrote via Instagram on Saturday, February 7, ahead of her downhill run. “I retired for six years, and because of a partial knee replacement, I had the chance to compete one more time. But why? Everyone seems to be asking me that question. But I think the answer is simple … I just love ski racing.”
She continued, “I am not unsure about life outside of sport. I am not searching for meaning or for attention or money. I know exactly who I am and I know exactly what I am made of. I am the product of amazing parents who showed me that hard work and determination pays off. My mother, who is watching over me, taught me the power of positivity and resilience. My father, who will be watching in the stands with my family and friends, taught me hard work and mental toughness.”

Vonn further stressed that while she couldn’t “guarantee a good result,” she still planned to try her hardest.
“I can guarantee I will give it everything I have. But no matter what happens, I have already won,” she concluded her Instagram upload. “The outpouring of love and support over the past few days has been overwhelming in the best way. It has given me energy and helped me more than I can describe.”
Vonn still planned to compete after her ACL injury earlier this month, in which she tore the ligament completely in two.
“After extensive consultations with doctors, intense therapy, physical tests as well as skiing today, I have determined I am capable of competing in the Olympic Downhill on Sunday,” Vonn said in a Monday, February 3, Instagram video. “Of course I will still need to do one training run, as is required to race on Sunday, but … I am confident in my body’s ability to perform. Despite my injuries my knee is stable, I do not have swelling and my muscles are firing and reacting as they should.”
Vonn further stated that she would continue “to evaluate with [her] medical team on a daily basis” for any medical changes before the race.
“I have every intention of competing on Sunday,” Vonn said at the time. “I know what my chances in these Olympics were before this crash, and even though my chances aren’t the same now, there is still a chance. And as long as I have a chance, I will not lose hope. I will not give up! It’s not over yet. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and supported me. I feel the love and it is giving me strength.”
