Nithya Raman Leapfrogs Spencer Pratt in L.A. Mayoral Race
Democrat Nithya Raman has overtaken Republican Spencer Pratt to secure second place in the primary race for Los Angeles’ next mayor.
After the latest round of ballots were counted on the evening of Sunday, June 7, the Los Angeles City Council member, 44, leapfrogged Pratt, 42, to sit just behind incumbent Karen Bass. Prior to Sunday’s count, Raman had been trailing behind the Hills alum by a considerable margin.
Raman currently holds 27.12% of the vote at the time of publication, compared to Pratt who holds 26.69%. Bass, 72, is meanwhile holding strong with 34.68% of the vote. (The results have already cemented Bass’ place in the November runoff for L.A. mayor.)
While Pratt looked likely to advance his bid, finishing in third place would knock him out of November’s showdown.

Raman exclusively told Us Weekly on April 30, via a “Nithya for Mayor” spokesperson, that she condemned Pratt for filming part of his own campaign outside her home.
“Filming outside my home, where I live with my young children, feels unnecessary and reckless,” the spokesperson said at the time. Pratt’s campaign included an advertisement that saw him visit the homes of both Raman and Bass to provide insight into each candidate’s unique living situations. (Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, have lived in a trailer with their two children since losing their home in the 2025 Palisades wildfires.)

Pratt had declared in the controversial ad, “This is where Mayor Bass lives. Notice something? Or here, where Nithya Raman’s $3 million mansion sits? They don’t have to live in the mess they’ve created.”
In a June 2 primary, Bass advanced to November’s general election. While Bass has refrained from publicly commenting too much on Pratt, she did comment on Raman during a Politico event in May. “I question her ability to lead the city when she struggles being a member of the city council,” Bass said at the time.
Pratt announced his candidacy one year after his family lost their home in the wildfires.

“The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling; it’s fundamentally broken,” Pratt declared during the “They Let Us Burn” public demonstration that announced the campaign. “It is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action.”
He exclusively told Us Weekly in a May 27 cover story that he had never predicted he would be running for mayor.
“I truly never imagined I would actually, probably [become] the mayor,” he said. “I just wanted somebody to [tell] the truth, and I wanted to have that platform as a candidate against [Bass] to get the truth,” he said at the time.

Usher and Chris Brown recently kicked off their joint “R&B Tour,” and it already led to a viral moment. The former invited a fan onstage for one of his signature crowd interactions, but the exchange quickly caught the internet’s attention after the woman appeared noticeably stiff.
The fan, who faced backlash over her awkward behavior, has spoken out and admitted she would have been more enthusiastic if the encounter had been with Brown.
A woman identified as Gabrielle Cheyenne became the subject of a viral video after her awkward onstage encounter with Usher. The singer is known for pulling fans onstage to serenade them and give them steamy encounters, but Gabrielle wasn’t having it, as reported by The Blast.
During the segment, the woman looked visibly awkward, prompting Usher to address the situation. Looking at the audience, he said, “I don’t think she wants to be on the stage.”
Gabrielle received online backlash, with many asking why she agreed to participate if she was not into it. In an interview with TMZ, Gabrielle said she wasn’t aware she was going to be brought up for Usher’s performance.
“It’s nothing against Usher or anything like that, but I’m more of a Chris Brown fan than I am of Usher,” she explained, adding that if the interaction had been with Brown, there wouldn’t be any “stiffness” on her part.
The Fan Was Upgraded To The VIP Section
Gabrielle attended the concert with some family members and said she was approached to be upgraded to the VIP section. She claims she wasn’t given instructions on what was going to happen, only that there was a possibility she would be brought up. It was only confirmed when she was about to be called.
During the performance of “Can U Handle It?” Gabrielle sat on a bed while a shirtless Usher made sensual moves while slowly leaning over her. As he leaned in, however, the fan leaned back, appearing hesitant to play along. He then walked away and gestured for Gabrielle to be taken off the stage.
Some roasted Usher, saying his ego was bruised. Others commended the fan for having “self-respect.” Some, however, blamed her for ruining the moment.
Gabrielle Cheyenne Clapped Back At Her Haters
Following the backlash, Gabrielle took to Facebook and addressed her online haters, writing that no one would decline an invitation to go on stage. “I looked good asf, you thought I wasn’t gonna let THOUSANDS of people see me??” She then said that she and her mom were moved from floor seats to the VIP section before the concert began. “PRETTY PRIVILEGES something you h-es will never know about!!” she clapped back.
She said as much on the TMZ interview, asking, “Why would I decline that?” As for her Facebook tirade, she said it was specifically addressed to the people of Chattanooga, where she’s from. Gabrielle claimed many of the haters who went “ballistic” on her were from her city, whom she described as “crabs in a bucket.”
The Fan Had A Photo With Usher’s Wife
Gabrielle’s mother and aunt joined the conversation and defended her. Her mother took to Facebook to say her daughter is a “respectable young lady,” and they are “unbothered” by the comments.
Her aunt, Tia Byrd, who was also at the concert, also made several posts on Facebook. “She was bad enough to be chosen and that man is literally half her age,” she wrote. Byrd also shed light on what happened after the awkward stage encounter, saying Gabrielle had a conversation with Usher’s wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, and all was well.
Byrd also posted a photo of Goicoechea and Gabrielle together, writing, “Usher’s WIFE & Gabrielle Cheyenne AFTER THE STAGE APPEARANCE!! YA’LL SHE AIN’T MAD SO Y TF YA’LL Mad!?”
Usher has not publicly responded to the viral moment.

Roy Furchgott, writing for Wirecutter, called the Learning Thermostat “the smartest thermostat” and noted, “The Nest doesn’t include a built-in smart-speaker and mic either, but for many that may be preferred.” Will Greenwald and John R. Delaney at PC Mag described the cheaper Nest as a “top pick for anyone shopping for a smart thermostat on a budget,” calling it “ideal if you have a smart home built around Google Assistant, especially if you use other Nest devices, since they are all designed to work together.” They also flagged limits, including no support for three-stage heating systems, no automatic scheduling and no remote room sensors.

Jon Reed reviewed the Premium for CNET and highlighted an unexpected feature, writing that “the Ecobee Smart thermostat Premium makes a half-decent Bluetooth speaker.” Reed cautioned that “A smart thermostat, like any technology purchase, is not always a purely money-saving venture. It’s a lifestyle choice.” He also suggested watching for utility rebates, writing that “Utility companies, local governments and other entities routinely offer rebates, discounts and even free thermostats.” Reed pointed shoppers considering a broader ecosystem toward Ecobee’s home security devices.

‘The Devil’s Hour’ Is the Perfect Stephen King Replacement
If you’re a fan of Stephen King and have already read through his books and seen all the shows he’s inspired, look no further than The Devil’s Hour. After all, while Lucy isn’t stuck in a remote alpine hotel like the Torrance family in The Shining, the miniseries evokes a similar King-like claustrophobic feeling of not being able to escape her own destiny. Plus, with Isaac’s unsettling powers becoming an ever-growing presence in the series, the show echoes a few of King’s characters, like Danny Torrance in The Shining and Luke Ellis in The Institute, where the younger generations become more perceptive to supernatural beings and occurrences than their elders.
Most importantly, like any good King book, The Devil’s Hour has a fantastic villain in Capaldi’s Gideon. Prioritizing psychological horror over gore, Gideon pulls viewers into the story and instills in them a sense of dread and doom in each scene. “Gideon is less like your bog-standard criminal and more like some unknowable, cosmic enigma, imbued with a kind of mystery only Capaldi could pull off,” wrote Maggie Boccella in her review for Collider. “He’s the piece that hooks you anyway, especially now that the show’s let Gideon out of his (literal and metaphorical) chains and given him space to experiment.”
Therefore, while The Devil’s Hour has yet to receive the viewership and worldwide attention it deserves, the series is a captivating thriller. By selling itself as a British crime drama but soon expanding into an emotionally driven supernatural thriller about fate, memory, and the lives we might have lived, the two-season series is a force to be reckoned with, as well as a must-watch for Stephen King fans out there.

Some of the most popular vampire television shows were actually adapted from books. There was the haunting Southern Gothic HBO drama True Blood and the much tamer YA CW series The Vampire Diaries. Even though those shows aired a while ago now, television isn’t shying away from the genre yet. AMC has drawn from Anne Rice novels, such as Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire, for two recent shows that have been a hit with viewers. But perhaps the best television adaptation of a vampire series was brought to the screen by one of the writers who actually created the story himself.
What Is ‘The Strain’ About?
The Strain is a trilogy of novels written by the brilliant director Guillermo del Toro and his co-writer, Chuck Hogan. The first book was published back in 2009, but del Toro knew that the series would be perfect for a no-holds-barred, fast-paced television show. It premiered in 2014, and ran for four seasons, with the final season wrapping up three years later. Del Toro and Hogan had their hand in bringing their creation to the screen by drafting some episodes, along with del Toro directing. The captivating story follows Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), who works for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in New York City. He’s called to investigate a mysterious event that occurs when a plane lands with every single person onboard having died. Ephraim discovers that this is no run-of-the-mill airborne disease. In fact, it appears this virus leads to a zombie-like outbreak that starts to flood the city. What makes The Strain so much scarier than other vampire shows is the way the creatures infiltrate their victims (often hiding their true nature before they strike).
‘The Strain’s Terrifying Premise and Fantastic Cast Will Compel You To Watch
The Strain has all of the most exciting components of a traditional vampire show. It has sexy and alluring vampires, ancient mysticism for how they came about, and a badass group of people who will stop at nothing to halt the outbreak in its tracks. But the series stands apart from its competitors for several other reasons. First, The Strain incorporates historical events through flashbacks to show how the vampire world has existed for centuries. This provides a mythology for the series that only deepens its storytelling. There’s also the head vampire, who just might be one of the scariest villains to ever grace the screen. And then there are the vampires themselves. By blending the familiar bloodsucking trope with a terrifying, creepy-crawly creature, the vampires in The Strain are 100% scarier than any other onscreen version. By poisoning their victims with little worm-like entities that enter people’s mouths and eyeballs (yes, it is that disgusting), The Strain brings the horror to a whole other level that only someone as imaginative (and twisted) as del Toro could dream up.
With The Strain, the talented actors all offer a necessary authenticity to bring this wild world to life. The action is often tempered by the grounded Stoll, whose Ephraim acts as an Everyman who suddenly finds himself in the middle of a dangerous apocalyptic situation. David Bradley is also fantastic as Professor Abraham Setrakian, who just might be the only person who knows how to stop the vampiric outbreak. Bradley plays him with a soft wisdom, but also infuses a broken gruffness that makes his character all the more compelling. No mention of The Strain would be complete without giving a shout-out to Kevin Durand, who plays Vasiliy Fet, a Ukrainian vermin exterminator who is drafted to fight the vampires. With his fearlessness and wry humor, Durand makes Vasiliy an essential part of the show’s thrilling, action-packed rhythm. Other well-known actors join the cast throughout its run, including Regina King, Sean Astin, and Samantha Mathis, proving that the show is incredibly well-cast.
The Strain finished up its run in 2017 with a finale that ties up the story, just like the last novel does. Interestingly, we were still several years away from our own viral pandemic, so watching the show now feels oddly prescient. If you have a strong stomach, you’ll appreciate the body horror and bloodiness of the action, and you can see del Toro’s genius on full display here. With 46 episodes of eerie and frightening storylines, The Strain is perfect for a binge-watch that will blow your mind.

Netflix’s Hit Harlan Coben Series Is Officially 3 Million Views From Making All-Time History
Netflix is on the verge of welcoming a new show into its all-time top 10 list of most-watched English-language series. One title has dominated the streamer’s viewership charts for over a month, fending off competition in the form of the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and the high-profile reimagining of Little House on the Prairie. It was only in its fifth week that the series in question surrendered the number one spot for the first time; it was replaced by the Western series, which amassed nearly 10 million views in its second week. Meanwhile, Will Ferrell‘s sports comedy series The Hawk debuted at the number three spot, according to Netflix’s recently shared data.
But we’re talking about I Will Find You, the eight-episode mystery limited series based on a bestseller by Harlan Coben. This is the 13th Netflix adaptation of a Coben book, and by far the most successful. The show stars Sam Worthington and Britt Lower in the lead roles, casting two actors who have each achieved major success in their respective mediums. Worthington, of course, headlines the Avatar film series directed by James Cameron. Lower, on the other hand, stars in the critically acclaimed, platform-defining Apple TV sci-fi series Severance. I Will Find You opened to mixed reviews on June 18, effectively cementing itself as a critic-proof title in the weeks since.
Here’s Where ‘I Will Find You’ Stands In Terms of Viewership
It currently holds a 62% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “An average Harlan Coben adaptation that puts its cast to the test and has just the right formula to pass for breezy entertainment.” In her review, Collider’s Taylor Gates predicted that the show will be massively successful, but described it as “not particularly revolutionary.” The show raked in 8.8 million views in its fifth week, a drop from the 11 million views it amassed in week four.
In its third week, I Will Find You accumulated 16 million views, following 34 million views in week two and week one’s 24 million views. This puts the show’s total views at around 95 million, which means that it needs only around 3 million more views to overtake His & Hers and break into the all-time top 10. In light of the show’s massive success, Netflix has fast-tracked a new Coben adaptation, Myron Bolitar.

General Hospital: Ethan’s Surprise and Drew’s Lake Rescue
On Monday, July 27th, Ava Jerome (Maura West) asks Ethan what he’s after. And then Ava winds up making a confession to him. Ethan and Ava have been flirting, looking forward to that romance, but somebody from the past shows up and that’s why Ethan decides to run off.
Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) tells Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) it’s hard not to get excited about the possibility. Maybe it’s about softball. Or it could be about her getting to prosecute the Sidwell case since Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) can’t do it because Sidwell held her hostage.
Carrying over from Friday’s episode, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) reunites with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). She’s all smiles when Jason walks into General Hospital. Britt is really excited that he’s home. Jason tells her that the WSB let him go and Britt didn’t think she was ever going to see Jason again. And then he asked Britt if they can go somewhere and talk and she slaps Jason in the face.
GH Spoilers: Willow Begs Chase for Help
Willow wants Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to tell the PCPD that he couldn’t find her. She is trying to get away, grab her kids. Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) has got it all set up. She needs to do this before Drew exposes her. But since Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) gave up Willow’s name trying to cut a deal, the PCPD has questions about Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). I don’t think Chase is going to let her walk away. I think he is going to insist that Willow has to come to the PCPD because summer spoilers say she must answer for her connections to Sidwell.
Down by the lake, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is screaming Drew’s name after pushing him into the water. Nina’s obviously going to be lying. I’m sure she’s hoping to make it look like an accident and that she’s really worried. She’s got to play the part and look frantic. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), meanwhile, tells Giovanni Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) to grab one more swim before he goes. Kind of strange because he’s in the water all day because Brook Lynn’s son’s a lifeguard, but the GH writers wanted him at the lake to save Drew.
We’ve also got Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) negotiating with Jack over the return of the black box, and he asked Valentin what he wants in return for it. And of course, Valentin wants Jack to have the WSB unfreeze his assets. Also, Nina’s desperate for Jack’s help. I’m guessing after Giovanni saves Drew that Nina’s going to call Jack in a panic to tell him she tried to kill Drew and it didn’t work.
General Hospital: Jason’s Return and Willow’s Unraveling
So, that means that Jack really needs to cut that deal with Valentin. Then on Tuesday, July 28th, we’ve got Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) catching Jason up on what he missed while he was held by the WSB.
He’s over at Carly’s house and she is so thrilled to see Jason. I do wonder how much he’s going to tell Carly and Sonny about what he endured at the hands of the WSB or if he’ll be typical Jason — a few words and just say, “Well, it wasn’t great.”
Willow’s future is on the line on two different fronts. First, she’s got to answer Dante’s questions about Sidwell. And second, Drew didn’t drown and Nina alerts her daughter that he’s now talking. So, they are officially out of time. GH summer spoilers say that Jack contacts Nina with a breakthrough, but it may be too late.
GH Spoilers: Emma Furious & Jacinda Determined
Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is cautious and this could be about what went on by the dock. It could be about Charlotte and Danny. And of course, we know soon Rocco is going to be spending a lot more time with aged up Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski).
Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brayden Bruner) is upset and interrogating Joss and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is there for it, too. So, it looks like Joss has got to explain to Emma the same thing she already told Trina. We’ve got Joss in her black WSB suit and Emma is looking really ticked off at her.
GH spoilers say that Emma’s all worked up when she hears that Joss is an agent. We’ve also got Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) is really confused by Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). And this could be about Willow because GH spoilers say Jacinda gets impatient because Willow still has a place in Michael’s life. He’s playing kind of a long strategy, but Jacinda wants it done now. She decides to take matters into her own hands and Michael may not like what Jacinda does.
General Hospital Spoilers: Serena’s Return and Ethan’s Departure
Then on Wednesday, July 29th, the Quartermaines are shaken when they get news from Gio. So I’m wondering if he tells them Nina was screaming, Drew was in the water, Gio saved his life. I don’t think Tracy will appreciate that Gio saved Drew. And also, Tracy might think the accident wasn’t so much an accident. We also have Ava getting more suspicious and it could be about Ethan.
And Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is thrown on Wednesday. Now, this may be about Jason’s return, but she already knew about that. Or Willow may contact her about the Sidwell legal issues, or Alexis may be hearing about Drew’s near drowning and regaining his mobility and speech.
Summer spoilers confirm that his recovery is bad for Alexis, and no doubt he will want Scout back when Willow was letting her stay over there with her. Also, Alexis is going to let Willow know that she knows she shot Drew. That’s coming up very soon. GH summer spoilers say that she drops the pretense that she’s been keeping about Willow’s guilt.
Plus, Molly gets an update from Alexis and they are both worried. And Michael exerts his power, likely at Deception now that he owns Max’s shares. And I wonder if he’s going to move Jacinda from Crimson over to Deception to represent him.
Trina and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) make some assumptions and they may wonder about Drew’s almost drowning and think that it might not have been an accident.
General Hospital Spoilers: Jason Reconnects with Anna
Then on Thursday, July 30th, Jason reunites with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Now, we know Jason and Anna have both gone through a WSB nightmare recently, so they may bond over their trauma. And Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) draws a line. I suspect that’s going to be with Britt because Tristan has only seen the worst of her.
And Serena Baldwin (Kelly Krueger) comes home to Port Charles on Thursday. Kelly Krueger makes her debut in the role. So, she’s in town to help her surrogate mom, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), fight with this power struggle thing they’ve got going on at Deception.
Tracy’s blindsided, and it may have to do with Serena showing up to support Lucy. And Ethan is in for a shock. And I suspect that he knows Serena and that she’s the reason he is going to scurry out of Port Charles.
Friday, July 31st, we’ve got Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) getting coached by Dante. It is softball season, and Liz and Dante are in their uniforms in the park smiling, but they’re not on the same team.
Sonny summons Jason to see him, and he’s going to tell Sonny about big life changes that he’s decided to make after his WSB ordeal, and he wants to prioritize Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) over everything. It’s about time that he was a good dad.
Brook Lynn defends Danny. Hopefully, nobody’s suggesting he had something to do with Drew winding up in the lake nearly drowning since Danny and Drew’s animosity is well known.
Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) gets huge news from Ethan. I suspect he’s going to tell Lulu he’s leaving town. Anna is gob smacked and this may be about Drew’s accident or something to do with Willow.
General Hospital: Aftermath and Summer Developments
Then the week of August 3rd through the 7th, we’ll see if Jason tells Sonny he’s stepping back from the mob. Liz and Dante spend more time together because of softball, but things are kind of sparking between them and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) doesn’t like this at all.
Nathan Dean finishes his run as Ethan. He’s already been taken off the contract credits. Anna continues to struggle with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and her head, demanding that Anna target Britt. We’ll see fallout with Jason and Britt from his return and her angry attitude, and Serena gets reacclimated to Port Charles, but she’s got some personal issues that are secret at first. We’ll find out more about Drew wanting to rat out Willow and Nina, but Brennan’s leverage may show up in time to stop him.
Valentin’s excited to get his assets back so he can buy back Wyndemere. Lulu’s really going to struggle, but Dante gave her solid advice about how to deal with the Charlotte and Valentin issues. And Molly works on building her case against Sidwell. And I’m curious if Ezra and Willow will both flip on Sidwell.
Shia LaBeouf has resurfaced in Los Angeles as he begins serving two years of probation stemming from a February bar fight. The 40-year-old actor was photographed leaving a dispensary during a solo outing on Friday. The sighting comes shortly after LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor battery charges and was ordered to complete alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes. Shia LaBeouf’s public appearance also follows several major changes in his personal life, including the end of his marriage to Mia Goth and the beginning of a new relationship with Nicole Mumphrey.
LaBeouf appeared solemn while exiting the Los Angeles dispensary a few days ago. The “Transformers” star was carrying a brown paper bag as he left the establishment, although its contents were not identified. The actor was not accompanied by Mumphrey, with whom he celebrated his 40th birthday in Louisiana in June. There is no indication that the dispensary visit violated the terms of LaBeouf’s probation or any court order connected to his recent criminal case.
The images prompted concerned reactions from social media users, several of whom speculated about LaBeouf’s sobriety. However, the contents of his brown paper bag were not identified, and there is no evidence that the visit violated his probation or treatment requirements. “I hope he’s getting himself some help. The Actor Pleaded Guilty To Three Battery Charges
LaBeouf entered guilty pleas in June to three misdemeanor battery counts related to a bar brawl that occurred in February. According to PEOPLE, the filmmaker was sentenced to two years of probation. He was also ordered to undergo alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes.
LaBeouf was initially arrested on February 17 and released on his own recognizance. However, a judge later required the actor to post a $100,000 bond after learning of allegations that LaBeouf had used a gay slur during the confrontation. A second charge resulted in an additional $5,000 bond before prosecutors filed a third battery count.
Despite the allegation involving the slur, LaBeouf was ultimately charged with misdemeanor battery rather than a bias-related offense.
Shia LaBeouf’s Attorney Calls It A ‘Minor’ Altercation
Following the guilty plea, LaBeouf’s lawyer, Sarah Chervinsky, characterized the confrontation as a relatively low-level bar fight. “The police and DA investigation proved exactly what Shia LaBeouf said from the beginning, that this was nothing more than a minor Mardi Gras bar tussle,” Chervinsky told the Daily Mail.
The attorney also emphasized that prosecutors did not bring charges related to bias or prejudice. “There is no evidence it was about bias or prejudice, which is why the state only charged these low-level misdemeanors,” she continued.
Chervinsky said the actor accepted responsibility for his conduct and intended to shift his attention toward rebuilding his personal and professional life. “Mr. LaBeouf came to court today wanting to take accountability for his part in what happened, and he has done so,” she added. “Now he’s looking forward to focusing on family, work, and new creative projects.”
The ‘Holes’ Star Has A New Girlfriend
The dispensary outing came approximately one month after LaBeouf celebrated his milestone birthday with Mumphrey in New Orleans. The pair was photographed holding hands as they walked through the city. They have reportedly been linked since the spring. The relationship emerged after LaBeouf separated from Goth, with whom he shares four-year-old daughter Isabel.
LaBeouf and Goth split last year, although the actor has been careful not to share details that he believes also belong to his estranged wife. He subsequently relocated to New Orleans, where he has family roots.
Shia LaBeouf Says He ‘Failed’ His Marriage
During a February appearance on Channel 5, LaBeouf accepted responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage while explaining why he moved to Louisiana.
“It’s not new heartbreak,” he said. “I don’t want to talk too much about it. It’s not my story alone to tell, but my side is I failed my marriage, so I had to own up to that. So that’s why I moved out here.”

Michael Bay’s 5-Season Sci-Fi Series Officially Witnesses “The Netflix Effect” With 1.2 Billion Minutes Watched
Were it not for Netflix, Breaking Bad wouldn’t have become the cultural phenomenon that it did. Several network shows experienced what later came to be known as “the Netflix effect” after becoming available on the streamer. They reached a larger audience, which helped them stay afloat longer than they otherwise would have. The phenomenon was witnessed as recently as last month, when a sci-fi series that originally aired from 2014 to 2018 became available on Netflix in all its five-season glory. It immediately became the streamer’s most-watched acquired series, topping the Nielsen charts with a whopping 1.2 billion minutes watched.
Nielsen’s streaming report is unveiled a month after the fact, and the latest edition covers the week of June 22 to June 28. This was when the new Harlan Coben series, I Will Find You, jumped to over 2.4 billion minutes watched in its second weekend. Starring Sam Worthington and Britt Lower, the show is on the verge of entering the streamer’s all-time top 10 list for English-language series. Meanwhile, Love Island USA delivered its best-ever week on record, with nearly 2 billion minutes watched. The acquired series list, on the other hand, was topped by the sci-fi drama in question, which originally aired on TNT.
The Sci-Fi Series Outperformed Massive Legacy Titles
We’re talking, of course, about The Last Ship. Starring the late Eric Dane, the series was executive-produced by Michael Bay. It followed the crew of a U.S. Navy destroyer that remained unaffected by a pandemic that wiped out most of the Earth’s population. The crew was left with the responsibility of finding a cure. Also featuring Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin, and Charles Parnell, the show’s first and second seasons received 65% and 86% scores on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, respectively.
At around the same time, fellow TNT title Southland, a crime drama that originally aired from 2009 to 2013, was also made available on Netflix. But Southland hasn’t broken out quite like The Last Ship, despite considerably more favorable reviews. According to the latest Nielsen report, The Last Ship outperformed hits such as House of the Dragon, Grey’s Anatomy, and Young Sheldon.
