The post at the center of the controversy came from the advocacy group StopAntisemitism, which took issue with Macklemore’s appearance at Sheeran’s MetLife Stadium show. “Awful,” the group began its Instagram message, arguing that Jewish fans had paid to watch Sheeran rather than be confronted with what it called “anti-Israel propaganda.”

StopAntisemitism criticized Macklemore for wearing a keffiyeh and shouting “Free Palestine” during his set. The organization also objected to his accusation that Israel was committing genocide, calling the claim “false.”

“Concertgoers are owed apologies and refunds,” the group declared before tagging Sheeran and calling the situation “unacceptable.” Pink shared the message to her Instagram Story without comment. She has not publicly explained why she reposted it.

Among them was a message reportedly declaring, “Being liked by everyone is a clown’s job.”

Another read, “What do you mean? Probably what I f-cking said,” while a third appeared equally defiant: “If they want to paint you as a villain, then pose.”
