R-Rated Techno Thriller Is Elijah Wood’s Unhinged Obsession With Sasha Grey

There’s nothing more anxiety-inducing than watching somebody you care about try to navigate dozens of browser windows, each containing dozens of tabs with no perceivable organizational structure. You ask why they can’t just bookmark the important pages, or at least keep the windows from overlapping so they can actually see what they’re doing, but they don’t have a clear answer. If you’re a neat freak like me, who can’t survive without clean page breaks and closes unwanted tabs with reckless abandon, 2014’s Open Windows is going to send you to a dark place you’ll wish you could control + shift + escape from.
Framed as a found footage techno thriller, Open Windows is either a hacker’s dream come true or a cyberspace nightmare if you just want to surf the web and scroll your favorite fandom sites. It’s a picture within a picture within a picture, overlapping with another picture that contains a clickable link that opens more windows, and that’s how you watch events unfold from our hero’s perspective.
The crazy part is that what transpires in Open Windows is far more horrifying than having too many tabs open. I only brought that up because I was already in a heightened state 20 seconds after hitting play, and I hadn’t even been exposed to the actual mystery yet.
I Always Feel Like, Somebody’s Watching Me!
Open Windows centers on Nick Chambers (Elijah Wood), a webmaster who runs a fansite for his favorite B movie actress, Jill Goddard (Sasha Grey). He flies to Austin, Texas after winning a blog contest that promises him access to a publicity event where he can meet her. He’s devastated when he learns through her assistant, Chord (Neil Maskell), that she cancelled at the last minute, meaning he traveled and booked a nearby hotel for nothing.
While uploading new images to his site that he clipped from Jill’s latest livestream, Nick is contacted again by Chord, who sends him a link granting access to all of Jill’s devices, though he doesn’t know this until he clicks it and it’s already too late. Though he’s not the voyeuristic type by any stretch, Nick plays along because Chord comes off as threatening and he feels like he has to do what he’s told.
As if the entire evening had been orchestrated months in advance, Nick is given access to increasingly sophisticated audio and video feeds and pushed further when Jill’s agent, Tony (Ivan Gonzalez), the man she’s secretly having an affair with, nearly catches him spying. Nick is urged to use a taser to neutralize the situation and erase suspicion, and that’s the fatal mistake. Chord has been recording everything from the beginning. Now the only person who looks guilty is Nick, the fan site operator who appears to be stalking the actress and has assaulted someone connected to her.
Whispers suggest the entire operation is being run by a master hacker known only as Nevada. Nick finds himself trapped in a web of incriminating screenshots, manipulated video feeds, and shifting identities. The hackers use him to obtain compromising material of Jill for their own purposes, and they’re so adept at covering their tracks that Nick isn’t even sure who he’s speaking to, who’s actually in charge, or what happens if he tries to contact the authorities.
A Disorienting Mess Elevated By Elijah Wood
Like I said at the top, the sheer volume of open browser windows in Open Windows was enough to send me into a spiral before I understood what was at stake. Elijah Wood, who performs much of the film reacting to screens before the third act forces him into the real world, is trapped in the net trying to figure out just how screwed he is. Every click feels documented. Every hesitation feels watched.
The bewilderment on Nick’s face in Open Windows is the real selling point. He’s forced to violate his favorite actress’s privacy in increasingly invasive ways, and there’s no clean exit. He’s simply the wrong fan in the wrong place at the wrong time. Watching him piece it together in real time as he’s followed through cyberspace and eventually the streets of Austin makes for a tense thriller delivered through wildly unconventional means.
While all I wanted to do was reach into the screen and start closing tabs, the story Open Windows tells is layered with deception, voyeurism, blackmail, and extortion. The twists constantly make you question what’s real, what’s manufactured, and whether this is all some elaborate publicity stunt waiting for a final reveal.

In a post on TikTok, Kristy spoke to her followers about how life has been for her lately, including feeling like she’s “building my social life from scratch,” as her social media career has been tied to Desmond for several years due to them being extremely successful couple content creators.
The mom of two sons, Vance, 7, and Westin, 6, admitted in the video that juggling her career and being a mom has been “a little challenging,” but she is making the effort to carve out some “me time.”
One way she aspires to do that is by “saying yes more,” after sharing that she developed social anxiety and often makes excuses to stay inside “laying in bed and binge-watching TV shows,” but she wants to change that.

“I typically would have an excuse or not go, but because I always felt like, ‘Oh, I gotta tackle this, this and that.’ And lately, I’m like, ‘You know what? I need to say yes to things,’” Kristy said.
“Just being able to go out and enjoy myself and forget about a little bit of responsibility for a minute, I’ve been vibing with it,” the influencer with over 2 million followers said, “I say all this to say this is your sign to dive back into your hobbies.”

After the news that Kristy filed for divorce in late December 2025 began to circulate, rumors swirled as to why the seemingly idyllic couple were parting ways, and shortly after Desmond confirmed it was due to his infidelity.
“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” Desmond began in a post on his Instagram Stories. “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused. Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first.”

Recently, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced that his department was clearing all immediate family members of the Guthrie family from its investigation as suspects.
Both Kelly and Cuomo have responded to the news of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance on their respective platforms. During an episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the conservative podcaster refused to hold back as she responded to Cuomo, whom Kelly believed targeted her show during a NewsNation segment.

“Here’s ‘Fredo’ Cuomo on his little-known show on NewsNation, which has less viewers than I have fingers,” she said. “Let me tell you what Fredo is really upset about. Kelly didn’t stop there. She accused Cuomo of getting upset when his competitors outperform him. “… like our show, which is always one of the top three conservative podcasts in the nation,” she said. “It’s currently number one on Apple. What’s Happening With Nancy Guthrie?
According to several reports from The Blast, the search for Nancy Guthrie—mother of “TODAY” host Savannah Guthrie—remains active as the investigation approaches its fourth week.
Nancy first made headlines on February 1, 2026, when concerned community members reported to Arizona law enforcement officers that she hadn’t been seen since the night before.
A day later, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that Nancy was forcibly taken from her home and that her Tucson residence had become an official crime scene.
Tips have poured in, according to authorities, and some DNA has been sent off to out-of-state laboratories to see if it can point the investigators in the right direction.
As of now, however, no suspects have been named.

“Hating Tyra is easy, right? I mean, it’s easy to blame her. But the truth is that the industry would not be what it is today if it wasn’t for her putting these things on Top Model back then,” Thompson claimed via Instagram on February 17, 2026. “We would not be gasping at the craziness that she put on TV if she hadn’t done it and shifted our entire mindset. She took queer, Black, trans, different weights, different heights and she put them into the average American’s living room where everyone was together watching these shows, rooting for someone who didn’t necessarily look like them.”

“You know, I lost it. It was probably bigger than her. That’s some Black girl stuff that goes real deep inside of me, but I knew I went too far.”

Although America’s Next Top Model cycle 1 winner Adrianne Curry declined to participate in the Netflix doc, she spoke out about the project on social media.
“I was just told one of the Top Model judges admitted they’d advance girls that were not the best models…just good tv,” Curry wrote via X on February 17, 2026. “That was me. I’ve said it for years, I never was the best one. I just had the best sob story. It is nice to have it confirmed.”

America’s Next Top Model cycle 17 winner Lisa D’Amato is hopeful that E!’s upcoming project titled Dirty Rotten Scandal will be a more revealing look at the reality TV franchise she was a part of.

Eva Marcille, who won the third cycle of America’s Next Top Model, revealed she was “gobsmacked” after watching Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.
“I was in awe … My mouth was wide open,” she said in a February 2026 interview with CBS Mornings. “To be a part of a club, and not know what’s going on in the club is crazy.”
Marcille, who was not approached to be in the doc, added that she was horrified to hear some of the stories mentioned in the Netflix documentary.
“I’ve lived my experience. I’ve walked in my shoes. And though there is a level of relatability one would assume, someone having walked in the same shoes, I had no idea. Absolutely no idea. I have been asked about Tyra for 21 years,” she explained. “No matter what project I’m doing, what I’m involved in, somehow Top Model finds its way in my interview.”
Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are prioritizing their friendship before releasing any new Florida Georgia Line music.
“Right now, I think just working on our brotherhood is kind of top tier, most important for us,” Kelley, 40, said on the Wednesday, February 18, episode of the “Country Outdoors” podcast. “Lord willing, the brotherhood will lead its way home, so we’ll see.”
Hubbard, 39, and Kelley cofounded Florida Georgia Line in 2010, going onto release four studio albums together. The two musicians announced a hiatus from FGL in 2022, each pursuing solo projects.
“I think we’re both focused on the friendship and working on our own stuff still,” Kelley said on Wednesday. “I think time will tell, and I’m excited about what God can do, and I think the options are endless right now. It’s cool to see what time can do, as well. You plan one thing and God and other things happen and things shift and cycles come back.”

Kelly further teased that a potential FGL reunion “does excite” him without revealing an exact timeline for musically coming back together with Hubbard.
Months earlier, Hubbard teased that he also hoped the duo could mend fences.
“I hadn’t spoken to BK a lot in the last couple years, but we’re going on a hike next week,” Hubbard said on the “Human School” podcast in December 2025. “The way I see it is I have a desire for that friendship. I miss the guy that I was partners with for 10 years. I miss my old roommate, my best man [at] my wedding.”
According to Hubbard, their friendship didn’t “have to be what it was” during their band heyday.

What’s happened has happened, but there hasn’t been any real repair at all. What I’m hungry for is, let me get my friend back.”
Hubbard further shut down rumors about what led to their friendship breakup.
“There’s not a good guy, bad guy in this equation. There’s not a right or a wrong,” he said late last year. “BK stuck to his convictions and led with his gut and decided to make a decision based on his passion. I set a boundary that I wasn’t willing to cross and it is what it is. We both accepted it way before the internet accepted it.”
Hubbard also claimed that Kelley was eager to work on solo projects over FGL ones.
“We had a really good conversation for, like, an hour. I was able to be really honest. He was able to be really honest,” Hubbard recalled on the 2025 podcast. “He just basically said, ‘Man, I’m really feeling called, like, this is the time for me to do this and I really need your support and want your support.’ [I said] ‘whatever you ultimately want to do, I want you to be happy and I want you to follow your gut and your heart and if that means not doing this, so be it. But I beg you to reconsider.’ That was not the path I wanted.”
Kelley dropped his solo record, Sunshine State Of Mind, in 2021, while Hubbard released his self-titled debut in 2023 and Strong in 2024.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department—the same department searching for missing Nancy Guthrie—is also starring in a new reality show about law enforcement.
Nancy Guthrie has been missing since the late-night hours of January 31, 2026, and while investigators have vetted tips, alleged ransom letters, and DNA evidence, no suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made.

Sheriff’s Department Investigating Missing Nancy Guthrie Is Starring In A New Reality Show About Law Enforcement
According to TMZ, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is the focus of a new reality series on A&E titled “Desert Law.”
The network sent an A&E production crew to Arizona last summer, during which they filmed the first season.
“Desert Law” follows several of the department’s deputies; however, Sheriff Chris Nanos is not involved.
The first season of the thrilling law enforcement reality series is airing now, with three additional episodes left.

Will Nancy Guthrie’s Case Be Part Of An Upcoming Season Of ‘Desert Law’?
Sources close to the production of “Desert Law” revealed that the team has not deployed cameras to capture any aspect of the Nancy Guthrie investigation.
Insiders also shared that they’re still waiting to learn whether the network will have the show return for a second season.

What Happened To Nancy Guthrie?
As shared above, Nancy Guthrie has been the subject of national news since she was reported missing on February 1, 2026.
A day later, Sheriff Nanos confirmed that Nancy’s Arizona home was a “crime” scene, and pleaded with her potential abductors to return her, stating that if she wasn’t properly cared for, she could die.
On February 3, Nanos told the media that he and his team believed Nancy had been forcibly taken from her home, but he couldn’t say where she might have been.
Over the next several days, Nancy’s children, including “TODAY” anchor Savannah Guthrie, shared emotional videos with the public and with their mother’s possible captors, begging for her safe return.

In one video, Savannah even offered to pay the hefty fee demanded in an ominous ransom note delivered to various media outlets, including TMZ and a local Arizona ABC affiliate.
On February 12, horrifying footage of a man, about 5’9″ to 5’10”, standing at Nancy’s doorbell and tampering with her doorbell camera, was shared online, sending a wave of concern through the public and Tucson community members.

Sheriff Shares Grim Update Regarding The Search For 84-Year-Old Nancy
According to a previous report from The Blast, Sheriff Nanos shared a grim update with the public on February 13, 2026, admitting that locating Nancy could be more difficult than some realize.
“Maybe it’s an hour from now,” he said. “Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now. But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”
Although investigators have received tips and leads that appeared to point them in the right direction, Arizona law enforcement officers have reached repeated dead ends, something Nanos described as “exhausting.”
“This has to be it, the evidence, everything’s there,” Nanos said. “Then you talk to people, you learn, you do your search, and you think, ‘Maybe not.’”
Police Could Run Into More Walls In The Future
Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller shared a similar message, according to The Blast.
The legal expert explained that “dead ends” are normal in cases such as this, especially because law enforcement officers are moving quickly to follow up on all leads.
“I want to point out we may see a couple more of these as this goes on,” he said.
But that doesn’t mean they want the public to sit idly by. In fact, a former Galveston County police captain stated that working alongside the community has been “the most powerful tool” he’s encountered in law enforcement.
A retired FBI agent echoed that sentiment and encouraged tipsters to share as many details as possible, stating that the analysts are “looking for these ones with specific details to put to the top of the list.”

Savannah posted another emotional message on Instagram, addressing her mother’s suspected kidnappers directly.
“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope and we still believe,” she said. “And it is never to late to do the right thing. We are here. We believe. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being. It’s never too late.”

Secret Lives on Hulu on Instagram also shared the Season 4 promo photo and fans quickly realized someone was missing.
“No Demi? We won. Our prayers have been answered,” one fan wrote. Another added, “So glad I can keep watching cause Demi is gone.” And there were many other comments that mirrored that thought.

Viral TikToker @stephwithdadeets shared the trailer and her commentary about what this new season is teasing.
“We got a nice new ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 4 trailer, guys, and we need to talk about this,” she began her video. “We get Taylor and Dakota in bed together. We had already heard that they slept together before she left for ‘The Bachelorette.’ I think Taylor even kind of hinted at it when she was on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, like they had slept together as of recent.”

Port explained that she didn’t feel “so nervous” about the surrogate not getting pregnant. Instead, she’s “more nervous about lasting through the first trimester,” since that’s when all of her own miscarriages have happened, along with other surrogates she’s used.
“Just gotta get through this first trimester and then I’ll feel like I can start thinking ahead and planning,” she added. “We’ve otherwise had the best trip here.”

Port and Rosenman, 46, are already the parents of son Sonny, 8, who was born in July 2017. Fans were quick to support the couple in the comments section.

Port has been open about her struggles with infertility in the past. Last month, during an episode of the “Spread the Jelly” podcast, Port got candid about accepting motherhood.
“I don’t think motherhood looks like what I imagined,” she said. “I never thought I’d be a mom to an only child. I always knew I wanted more than one. I didn’t picture this, and that’s been a little weird for me. My identity as a mom doesn’t feel fully solidified yet because I feel incomplete. I really do.”
The reality star continued, “I’m trying to come to a place of acceptance with having one child, because I haven’t been able to get pregnant with a second. We’re still on the journey and still trying. But it feels like there’s a piece of my motherhood pie that isn’t complete.”
Port confessed that sometimes she feels “insecure” when talking with other working mothers. “There’s this feeling like one isn’t enough,” she explained. “Or that it’s not as hard, or not as much to balance, or not the full picture. And I carry that insecurity. I’ve done a lot of work around it.”
