Sarah Ferguson and Meghan Markle have found themselves at the center of fresh royal speculation, with some questioning what an alliance between the two women could mean for the monarchy.
The idea has sparked plenty of reaction online, with some royal watchers seemingly less than impressed by the prospect. One X user summed up their feelings bluntly, describing Ferguson and Markle as “two peas in a pod.”
According to the Examiner, Markle, 45, may find Ferguson, 66, as an unexpected ally, which got the royals bracing for the worst, a source revealed.
“This is not an alliance that anyone in the royal family wants to be dealing with,” the insider said, adding that Markle and Ferguson are believed to have spent time together in Portugal prior to Princess Eugenie giving birth to her daughter, Adelaide, in Lisbon last month.
In addition, Fergie has “suddenly rented a place and came back the same week that [Prince Harry] and Meghan did seems far too convenient to simply be a coincidence,” said the source, “so the royals are taking this very seriously.”

The same user on X noted, “They sold their souls. Now they are both international clowns,” while another remarked, “I’m positive Andrew has information that MM would not want shared, along with receipts. Already announced today that Harry is working with someone with a questionable background. MM should watch her associations.”
A different person wrote, “Two of the worst scumbag women on the planet.”
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Eyes England’s Cotswolds Region
As reported by The Sun, the former Duchess of York is renting a six-bedroom residence in the UK’s Home Counties while Prince Harry, 41, and Markle, along with their kids, are rumored to have gone house-hunting in the Cotswolds ahead of their return to England.
“I was told by a friend of Harry‘s earlier this year that he was going to go house hunting and potentially in the Cotswolds near Highgrove,” royal commentator Tom Sykes told Page Six, referring to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Highgrove House residence.
Sarah Ferguson’s Complicated Relationship With The Royals
Much like Markle, Ferguson, who was Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s ex-wife, has a complicated history with the monarchy. In May, reports revealed that she has been totally frozen out by King Charles III and the rest of the royal family over her ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Although, the former Duchess denied any wrongdoing and consistently maintains her innocence, even stating via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies.”
“It’s no secret Sarah’s very angry and angling for some sort of payout from the king, so it’s hard to imagine she won’t be egging Meghan on and urging her to stand up for herself too,” the source noted. “Sarah has plenty of inside information about everyone in the family, so the fear is that she’s going to spill all to Meghan’s who will then have even more leverage.”
The insider added, “There’s really nothing to stop Sarah laying it all bare for Meghan now that she’s essentially been exiled, so it’s a total nightmare that these two are coming together,” the source adds. “It’s being seen as a real threat by everyone within the palace.”
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s New Titles
After a letter, which was written by Lord Chamberlain Richard Benyon at King Charles’ instruction, was sent to Prince Harry and Markle, it was circulated among senior government and military officials on September 7. The letter appeared to put an end to any confusion over the Duke and Duchess’ role within the royal family after their return to the UK, following their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020. The Sussexes would remain non-working members of the royal family but could no longer use their HRH styles, with the couple expected to live as private citizens.
