'Spiderman: Brand New Day' Did What No MCU Movie After 'Avengers: Endgame' Had the Guts To Do
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has hit some road bumps on the path away from Avengers: Endgame. There are various fingers that can be pointed in various directions regarding where things have faltered, but one of the biggest missed opportunities goes back to the first act of Endgame and the time jump of five years after 50% of the universe’s population was wiped out. That’s pretty intense — until you realize it took the ending of Endgame just to get to the same level of potential collateral damage as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Which is still not as big as the stakes at the climax of Deadpool & Wolverine, which would’ve seen the destruction of the entire multiverse. Take that in for a second: the largest-scale threat in any Marvel movie is Deadpool & Wolverine.
