The First Live-Action Video Game Movie Was Actually Awesome, See For Yourself
By April Ryder
| Published

If you love live-action video game adaptations, then you have to take the time to check out the very first one. Released at the Tokyo International Fantastic Film Festival in 1988, Mirai Ninja or Cyber Ninja (in the United States) opened the door for progression in a realm that has become a popular interest for many moviegoers today.

The world may never have had the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie of the ’90s, the Mortal Kombat movies, or the Resident Evil flicks if Mirai Ninja had never hit the screen. Of course, it was a direct-to-video release, so there was no theater time for this Namco-backed B-movie.
Directed by renowned visual artist Keita Amemiya, Mirai Ninja is a low-budget, wacky action flick about a future time where war is being waged between humans and cyborgs. An elite enemy cyber ninja who wishes to take back his humanity defects and sets out to help the royal family save their princess from becoming a cyborg sacrifice.

The human resistance army sends in a small band of soldiers to assist, and one of them is a young soldier with a mission to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of the robots. After many battles and losses in the fight to reach the enemy castle, the movie reveals that the defective cyber ninja is the remnants of the young soldier’s dead brother.
The main mission now is to get to the castle and rescue the princess before the resistance army takes matters into their own hands, firing a super cannon at the target. Blowing the place up is the only way to ensure the cyborgs can’t move forward with their evil plans.

The low budget of Mirai Ninja didn’t dissuade Keita Amemiya from injecting his own flavor into the movie’s final mix. The film is silly with the nostalgic DIY quality of movies like Evil Dead and El Mariachi. Nevertheless, Amemiya was committed to telling the story and making it fun to watch.
The acting performances may be a bit on the absurd side, but they were genuine. The sword-fighting in Mirai Ninja was much better than one might expect and well-choreographed. You also get quality laser light shows and explosions added to the mix during a fight to boost the excitement.

Mirai Ninja has a pinch of Full Metal Alchemist, mixed with the Power Rangers (live-action flick of the ‘90s) and Star Wars. If you want nostalgia and pure, unadulterated childhood delight, this movie will not let you down.
However, it won no awards for technical quality or dramatic impact. One critic openly wrote that Mirai Ninja “does not reach the level of Star Wars as promised by promotional materials,” but does ANY movie really reach the level of Star Wars? That’s a high bar to set for the very first live-action game adaptation.

One fan spoke of Mirai Ninja, saying that the movie “has a story, it tells it in 75 minutes, there’s violence, and robots, and demons, and then it ends.”

How A Star Trek Convention Turned Fans Against An Episode Before It Aired
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Star Trek conventions have been an essential part of the fandom for over half a century. Fans love these events because they get to mingle with other like-minded nerds and meet their favorite stars. The stars love these events because they get plenty of under-the-table autograph money from people who basically worship them. Finally, Paramount loves Star Trek conventions because these events help advertise the franchise, keeping fans watching their favorite shows and (what else?) buying a starship load of merchandise.
On one occasion, however, a Star Trek convention backfired for Paramount. Months before the Voyager episode “Twisted” aired, Robert Duncan McNeill and Robert Picardo dunked on it at a fan convention. This led to months of speculation about just how bad the episode really was, and more than a few fans made wagers as to whether “Twisted” would see the light of day. While their employers would likely have wanted the actors to keep their mouths shut, McNeill and Picardo were effectively vindicated: when “Twisted” aired, it quickly proved itself as one of the worst episodes of Season 2.
TFW You Get The Script

“Twisted” is a bizarre episode in which Voyager gets stuck in a weird energy field that somehow changes the layout of the ship. This leaves our heroes wandering around, trying to return to important areas like engineering or the bridge. Everyone keeps ending up back at the holodeck and can’t figure out what they should do. Eventually, Tuvok decides they should do nothing, since all of their attempts to solve the problem have made things worse. Janeway and her crew hang back and do nothing, safely passing through an energy field that they speculate was an alien lifeform trying to communicate with them.
Like many of Star Trek’s worst stories, “Twisted” was a bottle episode that was made to save money. It was also originally filmed for Season 1 but wasn’t shown until Season 2. That led to an interesting situation where Voyager actors Robert Duncan McNeill and Robert Picardo discussed the making of this episode at a Star Trek convention several months before it aired. While their exact comments are sadly lost to history, Picardo would later claim that “Twisted” is the worst episode of the entire series. Eventually, the fandom learned about them badmouthing the episode, and this led to even more rumors and speculation.
This Episode Was Hated Months Before It Aired

Based on their comments, some fans thought the episode was so bad that Paramount would scrap it rather than air it. The fandom spent months morbidly wondering if the entirety of this hated episode would end up on the cutting room floor. There were other rumors that the episode had to be entirely rewritten by showrunner Michael Piller and that director Kim Friedman couldn’t understand the wonky story, requiring both rewrites and reshoots. Because of all of this, “Twisted” had a bad reputation long before it was ever broadcast.
Arguably, that reputation was well-earned. “Twisted” has a 6.9 rating on IMDB. That’s not the worst (it has a higher rating than the episodes before and after it), but it’s far from the best the show had to offer. Plus, there were some kernels of truth among all the myths and speculation. While Piller didn’t rewrite the script, he did hate a storyline involving Neelix being a jealous boyfriend, and he tried to fix that with the subsequent episode “Parturition.” Also, while there is no evidence that director Kim Friedman didn’t understand the story, she did have to shoot five entirely new scenes because of the very short script.

Is “Twisted” as bad as Robert Duncan McNeill and Robert Picardo made it out to be? Not really. But it’s a cheap, slow-paced, and extremely underwhelming episode where the solution to the dilemma of the week is to literally do nothing. The result is a boring and ultimately forgettable sci-fi adventure. We may not agree with Picardo that it’s the worst episode of Voyager ever made, but this subspace stinker is easily in the Top 10 of terrible Star Trek stories.

Netflix’s Frenetic, Extremely R-Rated Thriller Is A Late-Night Crime Spiral
By Robert Scucci
| Published

I think the most upsetting thing about movies involving average people who need a second chance is how little it actually takes to turn their lives around. 2003’s The Big Empty centers on a man who puts himself in increasingly dangerous situations because somebody offered him $27,000 to be a bag man. Mel Gibson’s Payback (1999) is about a man who goes to hell and back for $70,000 that was stolen from him. Most people, if given that kind of money with no strings attached, could wipe out a car payment, a maxed-out credit card, or finally finish paying off their student debt.
Those who are slightly more fortunate could use it as a down payment on a house. Or, if you’re like Lynette (Vanessa Kirby) from 2025’s Night Always Comes, you save up the exact amount you need to avoid eviction, only for your mother to blow it on a brand new Mazda, effectively putting you out on the street if you can’t recoup the cash in less than a day.

The entire movie plays out like a run of the worst possible luck, escalating to the point of no return, with no support system in place to bail Lynette out. If I had to compare Night Always Comes to another recent film, it’s the perfect spiritual companion to the Safdie brothers’ 2017 release, Good Time. The difference is that Good Time hinges on bad decisions made by a bad person, while Night Always Comes is a series of bad decisions made by somebody pushed into desperation by her upbringing and lack of reasonable social safety nets.
Can’t Catch A Break
When Night Always Comes first introduces Lynette, she’s already at her lowest point, but she still finds ways to make things exponentially worse for herself. She’s working a string of menial jobs, saving every dollar so she can purchase the house her family is renting. Her older brother Kenny (Zack Gottsagen) has Down Syndrome, and she’s more of a parent to him than anyone else. Their mother, Doreen (Jennifer Jason Leigh), is emotionally absent and apathetic, so the responsibility of keeping the family afloat falls squarely on Lynette.

When Lynette finally scrapes together $25,000 for the down payment, she’s horrified to learn Doreen spent it all on a new car. David (J. Claude Deering), the owner of the house, tells her she has until 9:00 am the next morning to come up with the money before he sells the house to someone else. Not willing to go down without a fight, Lynette, who has a checkered past, slips back into old habits to recoup her losses. That decision sends her spiraling through the seediest corners of Portland, Oregon, digging herself deeper into a criminal life she doesn’t necessarily approve of, but understands might be the only way out.
Desperate, Lynette returns to sex work, which leads to her stealing a former client’s car. She tracks down her old friend Gloria (Julia Fox), who owes her money but refuses to pay. Gloria is doing well for herself as a live-in mistress to a corrupt politician, and while she won’t help financially, she does let it slip that he keeps a safe full of valuables in his closet. That pushes Lynette to reach out to her coworker Cody (Stephan James), an ex-con who knows how to crack safes.

Following a straightforward chain of “this happened, then this happened,” Night Always Comes keeps pushing Lynette deeper into Portland’s criminal underworld, with Kenny tagging along because there’s no one else to care for him in the middle of the night. Along the way, we learn about Lynette’s past as a runaway forced into sex work by her then-boyfriend Tommy (Michael Kelly) when she was still a teenager. It’s tragic, but it also makes it easier to sympathize with someone who has clearly been dealt a bad hand and run out of honest ways to course correct.
As expected, nearly every plan Lynette comes up with in Night Always Comes backfires epically, but she refuses to quit. Not with stakes this high. Not when her mother’s impulsive decisions are about to put her on the street and send Kenny into state care.
A Spiritual Successor To Good Time

If you’ve seen Good Time, Night Always Comes will feel familiar. In that film, Robert Pattinson’s Connie, who also has a cognitively impaired younger brother, goes on a crime spree that spirals out of control over the course of a single night. Where the films diverge is motive. Connie exploits his brother because he believes the law will go easier on him, while Lynette makes every decision with the intent of protecting Kenny, even if those decisions are deeply flawed.
What makes this harder to watch is that Lynette is actually trying. She works hard, tries to break the cycle she was born into, and attempts to do things the right way. But as the radio bumpers at the start of the film point out, most families are a couple car repairs and one missed shift away from losing everything. The film doesn’t excuse her behavior, but it does make a strong case for how quickly desperation can push people into choices they never thought they’d make when their back’s against the wall.

It does get a little heavy-handed by the third act, but Night Always Comes remains a solid watch. Vanessa Kirby and Zack Gottsagen stand out, largely because the family dynamic is so off-kilter. A younger sister acting as a parent to her older brother, while their actual mother sits on the sidelines, completely disconnected from the damage she’s causing, makes for inherently compelling storytelling.
It’s not an easy watch, and the ending lands in unresolved territory. It’s neither tragic nor triumphant, which might frustrate anyone hoping for a clean resolution. But life rarely works that way, and neither does this movie. You can sympathize with someone trying to escape a nightmare before it swallows her whole, or judge her as if you’d somehow make better choices in the same situation.

Night Always Comes is a Netflix Original and is available to stream with an active subscription.

Jennifer Lopez’s Male Co-Star ‘Doesn’t Tick All Her Boxes’
Jennifer Lopez‘s relationship with her “Office Romance” co-star Brett Goldstein has been sparking romance buzz for a while now.
However, insiders say nothing serious is happening between the pair, describing the actor as more of a rebound for the popstar, despite her enjoying his company and their onscreen chemistry.
Brett Goldstein wrote the Netflix film with Jennifer Lopez in mind, and the pair’s public appearances and promotion of the project helped fuel speculation about the nature of their connection.
Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Never Viewed Brett Goldstein’s Romance As Serious, Insiders Say He ‘Doesn’t Tick All The Boxes’

Despite recent buzz surrounding Lopez and Goldstein, insiders claim the actress and singer never viewed the connection as anything long-term following her split from Ben Affleck.
According to a new report, Lopez saw the relationship as more of a “rebound” after the highly publicized end of her marriage to Affleck.
One insider alleged that while she enjoyed spending time with Goldstein, “he just doesn’t tick all the boxes for her,” adding that Goldstein is “not leading man material and he failed her wallet biopsy test.”
Goldstein, best known for his Emmy-winning role in “Ted Lasso,” has openly admired Lopez for years. He even revealed that he specifically wrote the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy “Office Romance” with Lopez in mind and was determined to have her star alongside him.
Sources say Lopez, whose divorce from Affleck was finalized in early 2025, was eager to move forward publicly after a difficult period that included the breakup and disappointing performance of several recent projects tied to their relationship.
Her chemistry with Goldstein quickly sparked headlines, especially after she jokingly called him her “best onscreen kiss” during a television appearance.
The Popstar Enjoys Brett Goldstein’s Company But Doesn’t Think He’s Right For Her

While promoting “Office Romance,” Goldstein frequently praised Lopez in interviews, describing her as captivating and naturally charming.
The pair continued fueling speculation with several public appearances together, including during Lopez’s Las Vegas residency and award season events.
Still, insiders claim Lopez never viewed the situation as something with long-term potential.
According to one source, she genuinely enjoys Goldstein’s company and considers him a good person, but allegedly doesn’t see him as someone who fits the level of celebrity and success she expects in a serious relationship.

“She has brand J.Lo to think about, so she needs someone whose bank account and star quality are in the same stratosphere. Unfortunately, Brett’s not quite there yet,” they said.
Sources also point to the major gap in their financial status, noting that Lopez’s estimated $400 million fortune reportedly dwarfs Goldstein’s $5 million.
Insiders say the entertainer is highly aware of the lifestyle and public image attached to her global brand and “doesn’t want to set anyone up for failure.”
Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Divorce And Healing

At the same time, Lopez has also been speaking more openly about her personal life and what she learned following her divorce from Affleck.
During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” she described the breakup as the “best thing that ever happened” to her, explaining that it forced her to fully confront deeper emotional patterns and focus on healing.
Lopez shared that she worked with therapists, coaches, and specialists as she tried to better understand herself and the relationships in her life following the split.
The Singer Said None Of Her Exes Were Capable Of Loving Her Right

Reflecting on her four marriages, including her decade-long marriage to Marc Anthony, Lopez said she eventually realized the end of those relationships was not about her being unlovable, but about emotional limitations within the relationships themselves.
“What I learned, it’s not that I’m not lovable — it’s that they’re not capable. They don’t have it in them,” Lopez said.
She added, “And they gave me what they had. They gave me all of it, every time. All the rings, all the things I could ever want. The houses, the rings, the marriage. All of it. But.…”
Jennifer Lopez Has Been Going Hard At The Gym Since Her Divorce

Amid the relationship chatter, Lopez recently generated another wave of attention online after posting a series of gym selfies showcasing her toned physique and signature glam style.
The singer and actress posed in front of a mirror during a workout break, wearing a fitted long-sleeve crop top and low-rise black leggings that highlighted her sculpted abs. She kept the caption minimal, using only a flexed bicep emoji.
Fans quickly filled the comments with praise, with many calling her “summer body goals” and others joking that she appeared to be aging in reverse.
The post came just weeks after Lopez surprised fans at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival during David Guetta’s set on April 11.
Guetta teased the audience with an image of Lopez and a brief clip of her hit “Waiting for Tonight” before bringing her onstage as a surprise guest. The two performers then debuted their collaboration, “Save Me Tonight.”

Young and the Restless: Jack Saves Nick – Victor Furious & Out for Blood!
Young and the Restless delivers Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) at rock bottom. He is deep into addiction, and by the end of this week, his whole family finally knows he is struggling, but they might not be the ones to save him.
It could be Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) who is the biggest help. We’re gonna talk about Victor Newman‘s (Eric Braeden) enraged reaction if Jack is the one to help Nick get clean and back on track.
Nick Collapses From Tainted Drugs on Young and the Restless
All right, so this week we saw Nick and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as they were driving over to the abandoned gas station where Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) had trapped Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman and left them to die. So driving over there, Adam saw that Nick was struggling with withdrawal symptoms and told him, “Go ahead, get your fix. Do what you need to do.”
That way, you know, in Adam’s mind, Nick could be functional and they could get through this ordeal without putting everyone at risk. And then Adam promised his brother that once they got home, they’d get Nick all sorted out, get him into rehab, and get him cleaned up.
Nick Overdoses on Y&R
So, although he was ashamed after Adam told him to go ahead, Nick popped some fentanyl. Because he was in withdrawal. But when they got to the gas station to save Noah and Sharon, that’s when we saw Nick collapse. Because Matt’s dealer had included a baggie of tainted drugs.
So, hot on the heels of Nick’s collapse, a vengeful Matt blew the abandoned garage sky-high. However, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) had called Victor and he sent his security team rushing out to Vegas and they were able to get Noah and Sharon and Adam and Nick out of there just in time before it all went boom.
The Newmans Learn About Nick’s Addiction on Young and the Restless
And it looks like soon the Newmans are going to be back to Genoa City and Nick is finally going to tell his dad Victor what has been going on. So, the whole family is soon going to know that Nick has fallen into this fentanyl addiction with a little cocaine on the side. And it all started, of course, with the car crash with Matt that broke Nick’s leg and required surgery.
Now, I think that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is going to be especially concerned about Nick’s spiral into addiction. Because she’s been there. She’s done that. You know, Nikki had her own alcohol relapse not that long ago. Because of what Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and her aunt Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenl) did to her. So, I expect that Nikki is going to want Nick to go to rehab ASAP to get the help he needs.
Nick Pushes Back on Y&R
However, I doubt it’s going to be that easy, no matter what Nikki says. Because already Nick wants to make sure that the threat of Matt is over and done before he’ll even consider it. And although Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) claims that she killed Matt, I mean 100% that’s a lie. There’s no way. I’m also curious to see if Victor will encourage Nick to go to rehab or if Victor will let Nick slide.
Because if you remember, Victor didn’t seem to want Nikki to go to rehab when she first fell off the wagon after the vodka IV like he should have done. And he even left bottles of booze sitting around the house. So, at the same time, I could see stubborn ass Nick thinking that he can fight his addiction alone without rehab and without professional help.
Jack Abbott Could Be the One to Help Nick on Young and the Restless
Now, I expect Nikki to push Nick to get real help and she may call on her good friend Jack Abbott to help convince Nick what a hard road it is and that rehab is the best course of action. I mean, honestly, Jack is the perfect person to help Nick. Because Jack also had a pill addiction.
And it was a very similar situation. If you guys remember, there’s actually several parallels between Nick’s addiction story and Jack’s addiction story back in the day. So, if you’ve been watching Young and the Restless a while, you may remember it was in 2012. Crazy Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) who is back now, at the time, she shot Jack and he had surgery to remove the bullet and then after that Jack was able to walk again but he was in extreme pain and they were giving him pain pills for relief.
Jack’s Opioid Addiction on Y&R
So, after surviving Patty’s bullet things turned dark. Because Jack got hooked on opioids and he started acting really out of character. Sounds familiar, right? And of course, the Abbotts were worried. At that time, Jack was married to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), and she and Adam had confronted Jack.
He tried to quit on his own. He went cold turkey. It didn’t work. And then he was back to popping pills. So, Phyllis and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) along with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) staged an intervention, but instead of listening, Jack fired all of them for calling out his druggy behavior, and that included Adam who was working for him at the time.
And so next, Jack decided to go detox at the Abbott cabin and Phyllis stayed with him throughout his terrible withdrawal. After that, Neil became Jack’s sponsor and he was finally able to get and stay clean. The only time Jack has gone back to pills that I can remember was when he intentionally sacrificed his sobriety and popped some pills to scare Nikki into going to rehab. That was on what Victor calls the night of debauchery in 2024. Now, thankfully, Jack didn’t relapse and he got Nikki to go to rehab.

Victor Would Be Furious If Jack Helps Nick
But Victor’s been so angry ever since. Because Jack saved Nikki when not only did Victor not save Nikki, but he actually made things harder by keeping booze around and constantly exposing her to the substance she was addicted to. So, I kind of expect Nick’s addiction journey to go the same route as Jack’s for the same reasons. I honestly think Nick’s going to fight every step of the way, insisting he can handle it on his own.
Adam wants him to get help. So do others. But Nick is so stubborn. He’s so thickheaded. And I’m sure Nikki is going to open up to Jack about it. Because they’re good friends. They’re spending time together while their marriages are broken. And in fact, Nikki might ask Jack to please talk to Nick, share his own addiction journey, try and get through to him.
Young and the Restless: Victor Blows Up
And even though Jack knows helping Nick would make Victor even more psycho, I do expect that Jack will do the right thing and try to help Nick regardless. So, I think Jack may be able to get through to Nick. Because they’ve gone through almost the exact same thing. And if Jack helps Nick, I mean, that could actually finally destroy Victor and Nikki’s marriage. Because she would be really grateful to Jack. And Victor would be even more vengeful. I think he’d be furious if Jack is the reason that Nick gets clean.
Now, you’d think Victor would want Nick off of drugs no matter how it happens, but at the same time, Victor’s ego won’t allow for Jack to do any good. So, I could see Nikki being so appalled at Victor that she just walks away for good. Well, at least for right now. And from there, Nikki might get even closer to Jack. So, I think Adam and Chelsea and Sharon are all going to be grateful to Jack if he is the one to help Nick. And that’s an if. But if it works out that way, it would absolutely enrage Victor.
Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), I would expect to be petty and terrible as usual and excuse her daddy’s horrible behavior and say that Nick would have gotten better anyway. We’ll see. But I am really hoping that Jack is involved in Nick’s addiction storyline. Because it makes perfect sense because the stories are nearly parallel.

Bebe Rexha Says Confidence Comes From ‘Not Giving a F***’
Bebe Rexha is an unapologetic, confident queen — and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“My confidence comes from being tired of asking for permission and not giving a f***,” Rexha, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly at Billboard Women in Music on Wednesday, April 29. “I used to be so nervous doing red carpets and being like, ‘Oh, my gosh, those girls look so skinny, they look so good, they have their stuff together,’ that I [would] have so much anxiety. And then, now I come and I’m just like, ‘I actually belong here.’”
Rexha rose to fame in 2015 with the release of her debut EP, I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, soon finding inspiration from other pop stars.
“[I am inspired by] Sabrina [Carpenter], Zara [Larsson], Charli [XCX], all the girls who have been slaying for such a long time, but now they f***ing made their mark,” she told Us. “They have their thing, and it’s like, it’s f***ing inspiring.”
Earlier this year, Rexha recently dropped the singles “Hysteria” and “New Religion” from her upcoming album, Dirty Blonde.
“‘New Religion’ I did with Faithless, which samples Insomnia, which was a massive record in the ‘90s. It’s just about finding, you know, salvation on the dance floor,” she said on Wednesday. “I say, ‘I found my purpose in the churches filled with neon lights,’ because the club is my church.”
Faithless, an English girl band formed in 1995, marks just one of Rexha’s many collaborations. The Grammy nominee has also worked with G-Eazy, Doja Cat, David Guetta and Dolly Parton through the years.

“I don’t know who my next collaboration is going to be,” she teased to Us. “I end up in the most random studios, and I just go with it.”
Rexha has also admittedly come a long way in her journey to feeling confident.
“I know we’re all supposed to be merry and, like, ‘Yay, it’s the holidays!’ — which I am, ish,” she previously revealed in a December 2021 video shared via TikTok. “I think I am the heaviest I’ve ever been. I weighed myself just now, and I don’t feel comfortable sharing the weight because I feel embarrassed.”
At the time, Rexha cut back on sharing social media posts over her insecurities.
“I don’t feel good in my skin, and when I don’t feel good, I don’t want to post,” she explained. “And that’s really, honestly, the reason why I haven’t been posting in the last year or so, as much as I used to. I don’t know how to help myself anymore or how to love myself.”
Rexha was later diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that affects an individual’s ovaries and often causes weight fluctuation.
“I went to the doctor, like, last year and I — a lot of women actually have this and they don’t know — [was] diagnosed with PCOS,” Rexha said on The Jennifer Hudson Show in May 2023. “It’s one of the leading causes of why women gain weight and are obese. I literally jumped, like, 30 pounds so quickly, maybe a little bit more.”
Rexha brought her confident to the 2026 Billboard Women in Music event at the iconic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, to celebrate the most influential artists and cultural leaders shaping today’s music landscape.

Days of Our Lives: Kristen Helps Sophia Fake Suicide – True Cause Exposed!
Days of Our Lives gives a twist as Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) are working together to get revenge on enemies they have in common, which include EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), both.
And it looks like Kristen found a way to convince Sophia to do a murder for her and then run off and leave Salem and start a new life. And I think Kristen is going to help Sophia stage a fake suicide very soon. But the question is, how will the psycho pretend to meet her maker? We have a lot to talk about, so let’s get into it.
Kristen And Sophia’s Wicked Plans on Days of Our Lives
So, with May sweeps already started and us about to start the second full week of sweeps, I expect Kristen and Sophia’s wicked plans are going to come to fruition very soon. Kristen no doubt wants Sophia gone once she takes out Johnny. So, that way Kristen won’t be exposed because if EJ ever got a hold of Sophia, I think he could probably shake a confession out of her and she would admit to conspiring with Kristen.
So this week, Amy Choi shows Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) a suicide note that she found, she says was written by Sophia. And it looks like that comes when Brady and Jada are searching for Sophia this week. You know, maybe hoping to stop her from self harm or maybe because of suspicions about the whole supplement swap.
Sophia Out to Kill Johnny on DOOL
So for me, the bottom line is that girl is much likelier to harm somebody else than herself. Not only that, but we have Tate Black (Leo Howard) comforting Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) about something this week. And this may be about the online bullying and the reveal of Sophia’s supposed suicide note.
Johnny’s a perfect target because Sophia already hated him and knows that him dying will devastate EJ, which is what Kristen wants. And Sophia blames Johnny for a lot of her troubles over the past year. Sophia even tried to stop him and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) from adopting Trey.
You know, she showed up with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang), but then EJ swooped in. He exposed Sophia’s horrible deeds to the judge and he made it clear that Trey’s bio dad Aaron Green (Louis Tomeo) signed his rights away and gave Johnny and Chanel his blessing to raise his baby boy. So, the judge ignored psycho Sophia’s claims and she okayed the adoption and that sent Sophia on a rampage.
So, at that same time, she was also wreaking havoc on Holly’s life with the old supplement swap deal. And needless to say, Tate and Holly were livid when they found out Sophia had drugged them both and set up Rachel Black (Lorelie Olivia Mote) by dragging her into the mess.
Kristen Plotting With Sophia on Days
So, to me, that’s what makes it twice as awful for Kristen to be conspiring with Sophia. Not only is she out to murder her own nephew, but I don’t think Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) or Rachel are going to like it when they find out Kristen was plotting with psycho Sophia, who used and abused Rachel’s trust. Sophia manipulated Rachel from the moment they both landed in Bayview.
And Sophia had Rachel lying and stealing and covering for her while she was sneaking out to do stuff while they were both at the mental hospital. And it is Sophia’s fault for the most part that Rachel’s back in there now. I think she and Kristen are to blame for that.
Days of Our Lives: Kristen Shocks Sophia
So, that’s why Sophia was stunned when Kristen pitched her that deal to team up instead of punishing Sophia for what she did to Rachel, which would make more sense. But Kristen is so twisted up wanting revenge on EJ, who she blames for Rachel’s current predicament, you know, instead of taking a look at herself.
It was kind of funny because EJ spoke some harsh truth to Kristen, let her know that her own terrible parenting is what has caused most of Rachel’s issues. And that’s what got EJ’s face slapped. And he told Kristen, “Don’t try it again.”
But even before that, Kristen was plotting revenge on EJ. And that’s what prompted Kristen to go and pressure Sophia to kill Johnny ASAP. Now, we know Kristen thinks it’s justice to rip EJ’s son away from him permanently because Rachel was sent back to Bayview, which is psychotic.
But Kristen gave Sophia a gun and marching orders and Sophia maced Johnny, holding him at gunpoint in his apartment. So, things look really bad for him. Sophia was having second thoughts, but then Kristen pushed her hard and was talking up this whole new life that she’s promising Sophia, which I don’t think the girl should take stock in personally.

Sophia’s Fake Suicide Plan on Days
So, the problem is right now there’s nothing much left for her in Salem. Tate and Holly despise her. Ari despises her based on the social media post that Sophia herself triggered. Everybody on the campus thinks she’s a psycho. And of course, Johnny’s scared. He’s trying to talk Sophia down this week when she’s there ready to kill him doing what Kristen said.
But at the same time, we also know Sophia is not suicidal. Homicidal maybe, but not suicidal. She is unhinged, but her breakdown and the mutism was like 99% faked. And that letter she left that her mom Amy found was clearly set to target Holly. And remember, Sophia took a screenshot of Holly’s comment on the whole hate Sophia thread. So, that’s going to wind up in somebody’s hands. Maybe the police, maybe Tate, we’ll see.
And assuming that Sophia does what Kristen wants and she kills Johnny, then the plan is for Sophia to get this new life. It looks like she’s going to fake suicide with Kristen’s help. And Sophia wants Johnny to pay, but honestly, it’s Holly that she really hates. Since the supplement swap was exposed, Sophia’s trying one last time to burn Holly down on her way out of Salem. You know, this grudge dates back to high school when Tate was fake dating Sophia while secretly dating Holly. And yes, that was a jerk move, but it doesn’t justify what Sophia has done.
How Sophia Could Fake Her Death on Days of Our Lives
So, I think that Kristen and Sophia are going to use all this to their advantage. And remember, this is not Kristen’s first rodeo with faking a death. She staged her own death years ago. She threw herself out of a window and like down into the bay during a fight. The DiMeras, including Kristen, have a long history of staging water related deaths on Days of our Lives.
And I suspect that might be the perfect plan for Sophia to successfully fake her death because it needs to be a situation where a body is not found. So, if Kristen has Sophia pretend to jump into the Salem River, you know, off the bridge or into the chilly waters of the bay, that would work. And water deaths are easier to fake because a lot of times they don’t recover the body. So, it would make escaping that way easier.
Days of Our Lives: Kristen Double Crosses Sophia?
Plus, don’t forget the DiMeras have a submarine. Rolf has used it to get away. Megan Hathaway used it to get away. So Kristen could have Sophia leave her purse, her phone, her shoes on the bridge, make it look like she killed herself.
The submarine could pick her up, take her elsewhere to start her new life. However, I don’t actually think that she should trust Kristen because once Sophia does what she wants or if she doesn’t do it, you know, either way, I feel like that Kristen is better served if Sophia is dead.
So, I kind of think Kristen may plan to kill her anyway. She has the means and the resources to help Sophia get out of town and get a new ID and start a new life. But why exactly would Kristen do that? Because Sophia would be a loose end who could testify against her.
And at the end of the day, I honestly think Kristen does hate Sophia for what she did to Rachel. So, I feel like there’s a double cross coming, but a water related fake suicide could be the perfect cover for Kristen to actually kill her and get rid of Sophia once and for all.

Jinger Duggar Talks ‘Old Wounds’ Amid Brother’s Abuse Charges
Jinger Duggar is opening up about the difficult emotional toll her brother Joseph Duggar’s recent legal troubles have taken on her mental health.
The former reality star addressed her followers on social media to explain why she has seemed distanced lately following the serious criminal charges brought against her sibling.
This comes after Joseph Duggar was arrested and charged with multiple sex-related crimes involving a minor.

Jinger recently utilized an Instagram “Ask Me Anything” session to provide an honest update on her life following the arrest of her brother, Joseph. A concerned follower noticed that Jinger appeared disconnected during her recent podcast episodes and reached out to offer support.
In a vulnerable response accompanied by a photo of a cross, the 32-year-old admitted that she has been navigating a “heavy season that reopened old wounds.” Jinger confessed that while she has considered discussing these matters on her podcast, the subject is incredibly painful and difficult to process publicly.
This emotional admission comes just a month after 31-year-old Joseph was arrested and hit with severe charges, including the lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of 12. Joseph and his wife, Kendra, were also arrested in Arkansas and are facing multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.
Amid these disturbing developments, Jinger told her fans that she has been leaning heavily on her local community and spending quality time with her own children.
She noted that while she has stepped back from social media to cope with the “heavy season,” she is relying on her faith and sees brighter days on the horizon.
Jinger Duggar Previously Spoke Up About Her Brother’s Arrest

While Jinger is currently focused on finding a path toward healing, she and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, previously took a more direct approach to addressing the situation on their podcast.
In an episode titled “Addressing My Brother’s Arrest,” the couple spent several minutes processing the shock of Joseph and Kendra’s legal troubles. Jinger admitted that the week had been incredibly taxing, as the nature of the allegations brought back the trauma of her family’s dark history.
According to The Blast, she noted that while her family had faced similar heartbreak in the past, no amount of prior experience could truly prepare someone for such devastating news.
The scandal involving Joseph also forced Jinger to reflect on the actions of her older brother, Josh, who was also accused of molesting minors years ago. Although she avoided using Josh’s name during the podcast, she spoke clearly about a sibling whose “unthinkable choices” had previously left a lasting impact on the entire family.

While Jinger has been open about the internal struggle this scandal has caused, she has also had to defend her continued presence on social media. Some followers questioned how she could continue posting casual content so soon after such serious allegations against her brother came to light.
Jinger responded by clarifying that her social media activity is tied to professional obligations rather than a lack of concern, per The Blast.
She explained on her Instagram Stories that she has specific influencer brand deals and contracts that were scheduled well in advance, and she feels a responsibility to honor those agreements.
Jana Duggar Condemned Her Brother’s Alleged Actions

Shortly after Jinger opened up about balancing her social media obligations amid the family scandal, her older sister, Jana, broke her silence regarding their brother’s legal situation.
The Blast reported that Jana used Instagram Stories to address the shocking news for the first time since the arrests were made public. She expressed deep heartbreak over the allegations, describing the entire ordeal as a situation that has left the family devastated.
Jana made it clear that the news caught them completely by surprise, stating that the family had no idea about the claims before they were reported in the media. In her statement, she also condemned her brother’s alleged crimes and described it as a “grievous and unacceptable wrong.”
What Legal Experts Have To Say About Joseph Duggar’s Admissions

Amid Duggar family members’ reactions, Joseph’s alleged crimes have put him in an increasingly difficult legal position.
According to The Blast, legal experts are warning that the 31-year-old may have significantly compromised his defense through statements made before his arrest.
Investigators revealed that Joseph allegedly admitted to the misconduct during multiple conversations, including a confrontation with the young victim’s father.
Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani noted that these admissions are “highly relevant and damaging” because they provide clear evidence of intent. Rahmani explained that while defense lawyers might try to argue the comments are too vague to be used in court, those efforts are unlikely to succeed.

Summer House’s Mia Calabrese Laughs Off Nip Slip
Summer House’s Mia Calabrese handled a nip slip in the best way.
Mia, 34, laughed off the wardrobe malfunction after Kyle Cooke posted a photo of the season 10 cast at Carl Radke’s Soft Bar launch party via Instagram on Wednesday, April 29. In the pic, Mia wore a black plunging top with halter straps and sweetheart cups, which revealed her chest. She teamed the look with dark capris. Mia elevated her look with a gold bracelet, black sandals and soft glam.
“Never wearing that top again btw,” Mia wrote in the comments section, prompting some fans to laugh along with her.
“At least it’s a very tasteful nip slip,” one wrote. A second added, “Haha I was wondering if Kyle hadn’t noticed before posting! You look beautiful regardless! 💓.” A third follower commented, “Still Slayed⚔️⚔️🤍⚔️,” while more quipped, “Free the nips.”
In the latest episode of Summer House, which aired on Tuesday, April 28, the whole cast supported Carl, 41, at the opening day of his alcohol-free bar, Soft Bar.
Kyle’s post comes amid the drama surrounding his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, and costar West Wilson, who revealed in March that they are dating after previously shutting down speculation about their relationship status. Fans — and other Bravo stars — were especially shocked due to Amanda’s close friendship with Ciara Miller, who is West’s ex.
In his caption, Kyle confirmed that he still follows the whole cast after Ciara, 30, unfollowed Amanda, 34, and West, 31. (Amanda and West are also not following Ciara.)
“Yes I still follow and am tagging everyone,” Kyle captioned the group photo. “That’s just my style — to each their own — so please don’t come at me in the comments.”
Amanda and West confirmed their romance via Instagram two months after she announced her separation from Kyle in January.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they wrote in a joint Instagram statement. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
Amanda and West continued, “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Ciara later broke her silence on their romance, telling Glamour earlier this month, “It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors. To experience it so publicly is like another layer, and then to have to see what you thought was your life still play out in season 10. It’s a major mindf***.”
Kyle also shared his thoughts on the matter during a street interview this month. “It’s a mental mindf*** for me,” he said, noting that West sent him “some half-assed text message” after the news broke.

[Your relationship] should be a safe space, so I think letting people into it is completely counterproductive.”
