On the evening of Tuesday, March 3, Roberts took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of herself, Lil Poppa, and their son, Kofi, alongside a lengthy caption.
“MYKEL..what’s understood don’t ever have to explained especially to the internet! nothing could EVER describe the pain, the thoughts, the constant heartbreak of it all. our reality changing before my eyes.. i’ve been wondering how could you be so in a rush to leave us so suddenly & torturing… i know you didn’t mean to & you didn’t mean to hurt us. ESPECIALLY NOT KOFI.. at least NOT LIKE THAT!!! how tf you leave without saying you’ll see us later?! i really don’t understand & i feel played about it all but i know you understand why,” she began.
From there, Roberts appeared to touch on apparent internet sentiments.
“then they speak on what they THINK they know, i can’t lie I’M OFFENDED. Y’ALL DON’T KNOW SHIT! Y’ALL DON’T KNOW ME! Y’ALL DONT KNOW US! the world publicly seen some of our worst moments, which we weren’t proud of but the ‘beef’ was never bigger than what we shared & created,” she wrote.
Roberts went on to say that she and her son were “robbed of so much in a blink of an eye.” However, she hopes that Poppa found the “peace” he was looking for.
Furthermore, Roberts even shared a now-deleted message via her Instagram Story, where she addressed those who are “blaming” her for Poppa’s passing.

Before Toie Roberts Shared An Emotional Tribute To Son’s Father, Lil Poppa, & Blasted Those Blaming Her For His Passing, She Honored Him With A Video
As The Shade Room previously reported, Lil Poppa passed away at the age of 25 on February 18. Initially, his cause of death was not released. However, it was later reported that he passed away due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
According to The Economic Times, Toie Roberts and Lil Poppa welcomed their son, Kofi, in June 2022. However, by the following year, their relationship hit a rough patch, and Lil Poppa reportedly released a diss song toward Roberts. The track reportedly accused Roberts of infidelity, and although Roberts denied the claims, social media sentiment toward her appeared to shift negatively.
Although the status of their relationship remained unclear afterward, by the end of February, Roberts shared an initial tribute to Poppa, posting clips of their time together and calling them both “afterlifers.”
