Top 10 Movies Unlike Anything You’ve Ever Seen
It’s happened to everyone: You leave the movie theater, or you turn on the lights in your room, and all you can think is, What just happened? It’s always refreshing, if not shocking, to find a movie that’s almost entirely original, whose plot cannot be predicted or whose genre cannot be confined to a box. And with the rise of “Netflix dialogue” and endless blockbuster remakes, it’s no wonder so many film enthusiasts are desperate for more original viewing experiences.
Of course, there are still a number of filmmakers creating novel material, and there are a number of classic films that still shock contemporary audiences with their unique storytelling or groundbreaking visual techniques. Read on for ten of the best, most original films that you can watch today. Your eyes—and your mind—are in for a treat.
10
‘Koyaanisqatsi’ (1982)
If you’re open to experimental and non-narrative filmmaking, consider Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi. The documentary takes its name from the Hopi word for “life out of balance,” commenting on the excesses of capitalism and modern life’s destructive impact on the environment. With its class-conscious, environmentally-conscious themes, Koyaanisqatsi was far ahead of its time at its 1982 release and has since been deemed a cult classic, shown in museums, art studios, and film classes around the world.
Given its lack of plot or dialogue, Koyaanisqatsi requires its viewers’ full focus, along with an open mind. While it may seem slow or aimless, its tone and visuals transition over its 86-minute runtime, with contrasts that truly communicate Reggio’s overarching message that modernity has lost sight of life’s true meaning. This message is driven home by the film’s haunting, repetitive music by Philip Glass, which switches between pure instrumentals and haunting repetitions of the word Koyaanisqatsi.
9
‘Parasite’ (2019)
It’s difficult to tout Parasite as an unexpected film when, by now, it has become one of the most-watched films in the world. Indeed, when it was released in 2019, it racked up Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTA Awards, a Palme D’Or, and more. In the process, it broke records for South Korean film on the global stage and opened countless minds to the beauty of global cinema (who can forget director Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar acceptance speech about subtitled films?).
That said, there’s no feeling like watching Parasite for the first time. Its narrative turns sharply several times, turning periphery characters into primary ones and transitioning from one genre into another. The plot, which begins as part heist film, part class-conscious comedy, quickly develops into a blood-soaked nightmare, with violence and melodrama that descends so suddenly that it’s impossible not to get whiplash.
8
‘The Wicker Man’ (1973)
Robin Hardy’s The Wicker Man is, without a doubt, one of the greatest sources of inspiration for Ari Aster’s Midsommar. Like Midsommar, it follows the journey of an outsider who witnesses the once-yearly ritual of a rural pagan cult, to fiery, tragic (depending on who you ask) ends. The Wicker Man also “transpires under an oppressive and blinding sun,” as Elise Godfryd wrote in her review of Midsommar for The Michigan Daily. This brightness stands in contrast to the literal darkness of most horror films, with a presence so incessant that viewers find themselves almost begging for a shadow or two. In Godfryd’s words, the sun is so unnerving because “the film’s literal brightness forces us to take in its horrors with a shocking clarity.”
But The Wicker Man remains unique for more than just its cinematic legacy. It bends genres, at one turn a thriller, at another a horror movie, and, for several inexplicable moments, a musical that verges on comedic. Disturbing and memorable, The Wicker Man keeps its audience on its toes for every moment of its 94-minute runtime.
7
‘Laurence Anyways’ (2012)
Clocking in at two hours and forty-eight minutes, Laurence Anyways is a daunting film to embark on. However, it’s more than worth it, with a gripping, emotionally lauded storyline that keeps viewers hooked and leaves them wondering, at the end, how three hours went by so fast. The Xavier Dolan masterpiece details the long, fraught romantic relationship between Laurence Alia (played by Melvil Poupaud) and Frédérique “Fred” Bellair (Suzanne Clement) as Laurence transitions into a woman.
While other, more reductive scripts might descend into abuse or pit one of these characters as an antagonist, Laurence Anyways explores the complex, intense nature of true love. Indeed, at the heart of this film lies not only Laurence’s strength but his undying—and mutual—adoration for Fred, which transcends time, sexuality, and gender. Far from being a weepy melodrama, Laurence Anyways is filled with comedy, energy, and an immaculate soundtrack whose dynamism matches the film’s bold colors and distinctive visuals.
6
‘A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night’ (2014)
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night defies genre and cinematic conventions in every one of its characteristics. It was promoted as “the first Iranian vampire western,” and it lives up to that name, straddling not only the horror and western genres but also romance, comedy, and thriller. In a nutshell, the film is about a feminist vampire who stalks the streets of an unnamed “Iranian ghost-town Bad City” on her skateboard, killing men who prey upon vulnerable women. She finds her pessimistic perception of mankind challenged, though, when she meets—and develops feelings for—a gentle man, who she soon discovers is a kindred spirit.
Somewhat unbelievably, these aren’t the only qualities that make A Girl Walks Home at Night so unique. Although director Ana Lily Amirpour is Persian-American and the film was shot in the United States, the film is entirely in Farsi. Furthermore, the film incorporates both eastern and western elements in its storytelling, aesthetics, and even in its soundtrack, which includes everything from Persian-language folk to ’80s-inspired British indie rock.
While these disparate elements—narrative, visual, and sonic—might seem too incongruous to flow together, they work. In every way, A Girl Walks Home at Night delights and surprises at every turn—something that both the Sundance Film Festival and the Gotham Independent Film Awards recognized upon its 2014 release. Amirpour’s work demonstrates the magic that can happen when an artist releases their reliance on convention and dares to create something truly, unexpectedly original.
5
‘Anomalisa’ (2015)
Fans of Charlie Kaufman know that this artist is always coming up with original ideas, from I’m Thinking of Ending Things to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The filmmaker and novelist is like the Salvador Dalí of cinema, imbuing his work with a surrealist lens that plays with time, space, and the limits of consciousness. And in no film are these themes more present than in his 2015 animated feature, Anomalisa.
Anomalisa is one of Kaufman’s more disconcerting pieces, starting off as a run-of-the-mill story about a bored, insecure man on a business trip before devolving into psychological disintegration. Much like I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Anomalisa leaves viewers wondering what’s real and what isn’t. It’s also marked by its unique animation, accomplished via unsettlingly lifelike 3D-printed puppets that were specifically made to be “disturbing and off-putting,” according to co-director Duke Johnson.
4
‘Diabolique’ (1955)
Diabolique (originally released as Les Diaboliques in its native France) is one of the most influential films of the twentieth century, particularly within the realm of the horror and thriller genres. Its twist ending and refusal to shy away from macabre themes particularly made their mark on cinema, with directors and film critics alike citing it as one of their favorite films of all time. The Criterion Collection even called it “an almost perfect movie about a very nearly perfect murder.”
The film, directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot, is originally based on the Boileau-Narcejac novel, She Who Was No More. It follows the consequences of a murder plot that two women devise against their abusive mutual lover. After killing him, however, they find that his body has gone missing, and that the boarding school where they work has been haunted by his spectral, vengeful presence. Dark and increasingly ominous—down to its very last second—Diabolique is an experience that lasts a little over ninety minutes, yet lingers for a lifetime.
3
‘Happy as Lazzaro’ (2018)
Loosely translated from its original Italian title, Lazzaro Felice, Alice Rohrwacher’s Happy as Lazzaro is a bit like Parasite in its stark tonal pivot. Inspired by a real-life scandal, the film tells the story of a group of workers on a tobacco farm who live in an archaic sharecropping lifestyle—with no knowledge of technology, the outside world, or their rights as workers. This early sequence is filmed in a dreamlike, idyllic style reminiscent of fairy tales, and is the context in which the audience meets the protagonist, Lazzaro.
By the second half of the film, the illegal sharecropping operation has been busted by officials, and the workers have been thrust into modern-day Italy. Many of them live in squalor, surviving via petty crime. Simple and innocent Lazzaro, meanwhile, has been asleep for years and has not aged. And when he finally awakens from his coma-like state, his innocence is tested by the perils of contemporary life, with dire consequences. In the end, Happy as Lazzaro is equal parts fable and socio-political commentary, driving home a message that’s become increasingly prescient with each passing year.
2
‘Sorry to Bother You’ (2018)
When musician Boots Riley announced that he’d be making his directorial debut with Sorry to Bother You, no one could have imagined this. On the surface, this film is a dark comedy about a down-on-his-luck man in Oakland, California who begins working as a telemarketer. After being encouraged to use his “white voice” to make sales, he finds himself torn between his values and his income.
At least, that’s what it seems like this film will be about. As soon as its viewers believe they have a grip on the plot, Sorry to Bother You pivots into a wild, surrealist nightmare with elements of the thriller and science fiction genres. In doing so, it retains its socio-political message without coming off preachy, marked by raunchy, uproarious send-ups of everything from the art world to activist culture to the American status quo.
1
‘Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans’ (1927)
The Jazz Singer (1927) may be known as the first-ever “talkie,” or sound picture, but the silent era had been experimenting with music and sound long before its release. Perhaps the best example of this proto-sound era is F.W. Murnau’s Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans. This modern-day fable is one of the great examples of German expressionism, creating a dramatic, fairytale-like world, marked not only by its dramatic visuals but by synchronized diegetic sounds such as bells and even human voices.
In fact, Sunrise was one of the first films to have a soundtrack using new Movietone technology that attached synchronized sounds to the film itself. By working around the period’s limited technology for recording dialogue, Sunrise instead used creative means to immerse audiences in the story on an auditory level. Thus, although The Jazz Singer was certainly revolutionary, Sunrise is more interesting in how it used the limited sound technology of the time. Even today, the film blurs the line between silent films and talkies, challenging the simplistic modern understanding of film history.

Over the last few years, the SKIMS founder has gone through a rough patch, enduring a divorce from ex-husband Kanye West, as well as a 2016 robbery incident in Paris.

The Reality TV Star Has Been Linked With Other Men Before

Since her divorce from the “Donda” rapper, Kardashian has been linked to other men, including Pete Robinson and pro football player Odell Beckham Jr.
“It was never serious between Kim and Odell, but they are taking a pause on seeing each other,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “It was always casual, but Kim has been really busy with other priorities and isn’t putting in as much effort. The dynamic lost its spark, but they are still friends.”
The insider added, “They are still on good terms, and both agreed it’s best they stay friends. Odell is gearing up for season training, and they both knew it was never a long-term relationship.”

Kim Kardashian Called Her Marriage With Kanye West ‘Toxic’

Kardashian’s new romance comes a few months after she opened up about her “toxic” marriage to West and her co-parenting struggles.
During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the business mogul stated that the rapper’s intellect is what initially attracted her, and that she saw him as a “larger than life” kind of person.
However, their romance went downhill after a series of mental health issues and public breakdowns West experienced.
“When someone has like their first mental break, you want to be super supportive, and you want to help figure that out and be there for them,” she explained. “But when someone isn’t willing to make changes that I think would’ve been super healthy and beneficial, it makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic.”

At the time, Kardashian also stated that the reason she stayed in her marriage with West, despite his issues, was for the sake of their children.
The SKIMS Founder Said Her Connection To The Rapper Has Affected Her Dating Life

Kardashian also spoke about how her marriage to West has forever impacted her dating life, despite their separation.
“There has been situations where I’ll get close to someone, then it’s like, ‘wait, wait, wait, I don’t really want to deal with your ex. I don’t want to deal if he’s going to say something,’” Kardashian claimed.
“So it has been a little frustrating, but then I get ‘my’ person wouldn’t care about that,” she added about her love life.

Blood Is Said To Have Been Found At The Scene Of Nancy’s Home

On Tuesday, February 3, a law enforcement source close to the case told CBS News that “a little bit of blood” was found inside Nancy’s home.
However, at this time the blood does not have an identified source but is currently being tested to determine who it belongs to. Per the outlet, investigators in the case and crime scene analysts continue to search Nancy’s home for evidence regarding her disappearance.
Pima County authorities now believe that Nancy was abducted from her home, dispelling previous speculation that she simply wandered away, which is highly unlikely due to her limited mobility and lack of cognitive impairment.

Ken Leung On How ‘Industry’ Fans Assume He’s A Banker
Ken Leung is perhaps best known for his portrayal of ruthless banker Eric Tao on the HBO drama “Industry.”
The role has brought him unprecedented levels of attention, but the actor admits there’s an unexpected downside to being such a critical part of the show’s success.
According to Leung, he is now frequently mistaken for an actual finance professional, with people in the industry often assuming he works in banking.
Ironically, Leung appears to be moving even further from the world of finance in real life, recently expanding his portfolio to include fashion and modeling work.

Ken Leung Says He’s Now Almost Exclusively Recognized From His Role In ‘Industry’

Leung has been playing the role of Eric on “Industry” for more than five years. In that time, the actor says the character has become his most recognizable to the audience.
“I have to say, almost exclusively now, it’s ‘Industry,’” Leung said during an interview with GQ Magazine. “It’s particularly people in finance who are excited to tell me they’re in finance.”
Prior to “Industry,” Leung was probably most known for playing Miles Straume in “Lost.” The NYC native mentioned that there has been a resurgence in fan engagement for the character.
“Recently we had a 20-year anniversary of ‘Lost,’ which was so long ago,” Leung said. “It’s a little surreal to suddenly hear about it again.”

The Actor Insists He’s Nothing Like His Character On The Show
Leung is quick to point out that there’s a major difference between his real-life personality and that of Eric Tao on “Industry.” Speaking to GQ, Leung did not mince his words when describing the Pierpoint executive.

Because of that, Leung admitted that he’s often unsure how to respond when fans tell him that Eric reminds them of someone they know in real life.
“A lot of times I’ve heard, ‘Oh, you remind me of this boss I had,’ and I always say, ‘I’m so sorry to hear that,’” Leung said. “And they don’t mean it that way.”
Despite Eric’s ruthless reputation, Leung believes that the character may still be capable of change.
“[Eric] is more likely to come clean,” Leung explained. “In that he has the added agenda of finding a path to his kids.”

This Movie Just Made Steven Spielberg an EGOT Winner, and It Isn’t a Film He Directed
At the Grammys on February 1st, Steven Spielberg quietly crossed one of the last remaining thresholds in American entertainment: the EGOT. The designation is given to artists who have received each of the highest honors in entertainment: Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Tonys. Fellow EGOT recipients include Mel Brooks, John Legend, Whoopi Goldberg, and Elton John.
Spielberg received the Best Music Film Grammy for producing the documentary Music by John Williams, which streamed on Disney+. The film provides a fitting capstone to Spielberg’s journey to EGOT status, in part because it also serves as a look back at the most enduring partnership of his long filmmaking career.
Steven Spielberg and John Williams Make Beautiful Music Together
Directed by Laurent Bouzereau, Music by John Williams charts the composer’s towering career. Composer John Williams discusses his early days as a session musician for several movies and then his transition into scoring, beginning with Westerns before he went on to become one of the most respected and awarded composers in film history. The film touches on his iconic work for Star Wars and Superman — themes so tied to their films’ identity that they continue to be franchise touchstones — and includes such famous faces as George Lucas, Ron Howard, and Chris Columbus, for whom Williams created scores for Home Alone and the Harry Potter franchise.
But Williams’s most famous and enduring partnership has always been with Spielberg, dating back to when the director tapped him to provide the score for his theatrical debut, The Sugarland Express. In the documentary, Spielberg notes how he picked Williams based on his rousing orchestral score for The Reivers, but the composer instead realized a more intimate, wistful soundtrack would be a better fit for the film. It wouldn’t be the last time the musician surprised the director with his choices. Williams also recalls how Spielberg initially expected an all-encompassing horror score for Jaws; instead, he delivered one of the most iconic movie themes ever with just two notes he originally played on a piano for the director.
Music by John Williams is consistently engaging, but it’s never more compelling than when it details his long partnership with Spielberg. Throughout his career, Williams has earned 54 Oscar nominations — 19 of which were for his work on Spielberg’s films. He won Oscars for creating the scores for Jaws, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, and Schindler’s List, which Spielberg says is his favorite score Williams has composed for him. His themes are crucial to the success of Spielberg’s films; it’s impossible to imagine Close Encounters of the Third Kind without Williams’s “five tones,” or Indiana Jones traipsing into the unknown without “Raiders March” playing underneath. In the documentary, Spielberg says his favorite part of any directorial project is when Williams first reveals his score, because he knows it’s always going to surprise and delight him.
An EGOT for Cinema’s GOAT
Earning the Grammy and attaining EGOT status further cements Spielberg’s standing as one of the most important and accomplished storytellers in American art. He is, of course, one of the most nominated Oscar directors of all time, with his nine nominations placing him behind only Martin Scorsese, with 10, and William Wyler, with 12. He’s won twice, for Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan. He’s been nominated for Best Director in six different decades, and he has produced 14 films that received Best Picture nominations, more than any other director in history.
But Spielberg’s award reach extends well beyond the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In addition to his Oscars, he has several Emmy Awards, ranging from stirring and vital miniseries like Band of Brothers and The Pacific to his work producing the animated special A Pinky and the Brain Christmas. He earned a Tony for producing Michael R. Jackson’s Broadway Pulitzer Prize-winning play A Strange Loop, and was later nominated for his work producing the stage adaptations of Water for Elephants and Death Becomes Her. His Grammy for Music by John Williams only reinforces that Spielberg’s influence stretches beyond film, touching nearly every American art form.
There Are Spielberg and Williams Collaborations to Come
It might seem as though the awards for Music by John Williams would mark a capstone for an enduring partnership. But there’s more ahead. Spielberg’s science fiction event film Disclosure Day is set to release this summer, once again featuring a score by his longtime collaborator. Even after decades of working together, the two seem to know better than to stop a good team.
Music by John Williams stands as a celebration of a partnership that changed the sound of cinema, and earning a Grammy is a fitting honor for that musical collaboration. At the same time, it reinforces that Steven Spielberg remains one of the greatest American storytellers — and that his talent reaches far beyond the screen.
Music by John Williams is available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.

Andy Cohen Reacts To His Sit Down With Karen Huger
“Real Housewives of Potomac“ star Karen Huger is now several months removed from her release from jail after being sentenced in February 2025 for a DUI, her fourth drunk driving-related offense. Her sit-down with Andy Cohen, which was filmed in September 2025, has finally been released. Now, after many fans of “RHOP” have weighed in on whether or not Huger took accountability, Cohen is sharing his thoughts on the biggest takeaway from the interview.
Andy Cohen revealed the biggest sticking point of his interview with Karen Huger.

Andy Cohen Reacts To His Conversation With Karen Huger

Cohen took to his SiriusXM radio show in February 2026 to discuss the much-buzzed-about reunion with Huger. In the clip, he highlighted a moment he found impactful: when she revealed that she and her husband have an understanding that their marriage might not continue.
Cohen recalled, “And I thought the other thing that was a headline was that she was saying that she was deeply unhappy. She was unhappy in her marriage. And she also said, ‘This marriage may not work out, and I’m okay with that.”

The “Watch What Happens Live” host continued, “And she said, ‘the person that I am now is not the person who I’ve been, and that may not work out for Ray.’” He added, “And I thought that was a very big pronouncement for her to make.” His cohost then theorized that some addicts sometimes may not seek help because they believe changing may impact the people in their lives.

The ‘RHOP’ Star Made Vulnerable Comments About Her Marriage

During the interview, Huger discussed everything, from the night of her 2024 car accident to much of the trauma that led her to self-medicate. As Cohen stated, one of the most emotional moments came when she discussed her marriage to Ray. She said in the discussion, “I wasn’t happy here. Let’s be very clear- Ray and I have been very honest about our marriage, and we were going through. We still were.”
The Bravo star continued, “And I was very unhappy, and the kids were gone, and the house was a tomb, and I just wanted to get away that night. I wanted to escape being unhappy. I was so unhappy.”

Comments Are Divided On The Interview

The interview between Cohen and Huger aired as an episode of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” on Sunday, February 1. Following its premiere, many took to social media to react to what Huger, often called The Grand Dame, had to say.
One person on X wrote, “The Karen Huger sit-down was a joke. She barely took any real accountability. It was 42 minutes of truth-spinning, deflection, and playing the victim. Andy was a great interviewer and tried his best, but Karen is still deeply delusional. It’s a sad thing to witness.”
Someone else said, “Everything about Karen is so staged to me. Like, why is she the finale episode? She came from jail after committing the same crime over and over again. First BravoCon, now this. Give me a break.”

A different “RHOP” fan said, “I watched Karen Huger’s special episode with Andy.. I tell you what .. her and The President would be great friends. They take no accountability lol.”
Finally, someone defended her, saying, “Andy Cohen asks Karen Huger pretty much everything you’d want him to ask her in their interview. It’s a very direct, effective sit-down, and he pushes back when Karen isn’t as clear as she needs to be. But she also takes a lot of accountability, says a lot of things we needed to hear from her, and shares some details, particularly about her marriage, that I wasn’t expecting. Must-watch TV.”
Karen Huger’s ‘RHOP’ Costars Have Given Updates On Her

According to Fox 5 DC, Huger was released from jail on September 2, 2025, after serving roughly six months of her sentence. Following her release, she kept a relatively low profile. However, some of her “Real Housewives of Potomac” costars have updates on her.
Per Bravo, Gizelle Bryant appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” in October, revealing that she’d seen Huger. Bryant said, “She’s doing good. She looks good. She got like a nice little booty. She looks really good. But I really missed her, so I’m super happy she’s home.”

The Beloved Reality Star Will Be At The Reunion

Bravo released the reunion trailer for season 10 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” on January 30. It features the main cast for the season: Stacey Rusch, Wendy Osefo, Ashley Darby, and Bryant. However, in addition to the friends of the show, Monique Samuelsand Jassi Rideaux, Huger can also be seen.
She can be seen in the clip talking to Osefo, who is going through her own legal struggles, and jokingly accusing Rusch of lying, asking, “Did you lie this season?”
Part one of the three-part reunion will air on February 15.

White House Supports Savannah Guthrie Amid Search for Mom Nancy
The White House is sending prayers to Savannah Guthrie‘s family as her mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing.
“The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is ongoing, and authorities are requesting assistance from the public,” read a message shared via the official White House X account on Tuesday, February 3. “Anyone with information is urged to contact 911. Our prayers are with the Guthrie family as we hope for Nancy’s safe return home.”
The post included information from Nancy’s missing person’s report, including her age, weight, height and more. Nancy, 84, was last seen on Saturday, January 31.
News broke on Sunday, February 1, that Nancy was reported missing in Arizona. The Guthrie family confirmed in a statement that they were “working closely with local law enforcement” to help bring Nancy back home.
Savannah, 54, did not appear on the Monday, February 2, episode of the Today show, but cohosts Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin addressed the “deeply personal” story at the top of the broadcast.

Savannah provided an additional statement, which read, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos initially noted after Nancy was reported missing that foul play could not be ruled out as the search continued. During a subsequent press conference, however, Nanos said that authorities were treating Nancy’s home as a crime scene.
“We don’t want anybody to lose hope,” Nanos later told Us Weekly. “But in the same sense, just as there’s hope, there’s also things that point to us that say, ‘This lady’s in danger.’”
Nanos previously revealed that there were “some concerns” about what was found at Nancy’s home. “I’ve been doing this for 50 years. When something doesn’t sit well, it doesn’t sit well,” he explained to Us. “Something unusual at that house occurred that made us go, ‘Wow … something’s wrong here. Something doesn’t fit.’”
Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the crime, and there has been no public mention of a ransom. “I wish somebody would call us and say, ‘Hey,’ because that’s what the family wants. They just want her back. ‘Hey, no questions asked, call us where to come and get her,’ and we’ll do that,” Nanos added.
The sheriff has also said that Nancy is “sharp as a tack” when it comes to her mental state, but she has some limitations with her physical health. Nancy also requires medication on a daily basis.
During a separate press conference on Tuesday, Nanos was asked whether he believes police are looking for someone who is still alive. “We hope we are,” he replied.
Savannah, meanwhile, has remained off the air in her family’s time of need. She issued a heartfelt statement via Instagram on Monday, sharing a photo with the words “Please Pray.”
“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote in the caption. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you.”
Her message continued, “‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.’ A verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us. Bring her home.”

The Property Brothers Say This Is the #1 Mistake People Make When They Try to Get Ambitious With Their Homes
If there is one thing that we’ve learned over the years, it’s that the Property Brothers know what they’re talking about. Having completed hundreds of renovations and design projects across their HGTV series, they’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. While we may not agree with every decision they make, they’re at least offering viewers wisdom and expertise in their guidance. Now, they’ve spoken out about the harsh dangers of going all white in certain rooms, namely the kitchen; they’re now coming at you with the boldness of color.
Taking a break from their TV advice, Jonathan and Drew Scott are using their YouTube channel to alert viewers to the highs and lows of colors. The twins are coming in hot with this bold take because they know how quickly trends come and go in the world of interior design. As they do on their shows, including Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers, they’re here to help at-home designers prevent a major mistake. Bold is fine—reckless is unforgivable.
Adding Bold Color Comes With Stipulations
Jonathan and Drew are eager to encourage at-home designers to go bold. But what does it mean to go bold in the world of interior design? Essentially, as Jonathan put it, it’s time to forget about the boring. Their advice is to explore using a statement wall. It’s a trend that’s been popular for some time, but how they’re exploring it in 2026 is new. In the past, you might have seen some homes with a single wall painted a splash of color to make a statement. The twins advise trying something new, this time with paneling or wallpaper. But there’s a catch. Your wall treatment can’t be too bold. “Just know that the more bold you go, generally the faster it goes out of style. So, pick things appropriately. You don’t want to have to redo your wallpaper every single year or every few years. So, think of stuff that’s going to live and look good for a long time,” Jonathan advised. When it comes to paneling, designers should note that it can also add a bit of functionality in certain spaces, as wood can dampen sound. For rooms like playrooms and media rooms, its multi-use function benefits more than just a bold addition.
Jonathan and Drew are calling out the “Pinterest spiral” effect here. Too many patterns, everywhere, all at once. “Don’t put too busy a paper on too many walls because it can kind of create vertigo.” The benefit of wallpaper, such as grasscloth, is that, while you can opt for the traditional application, peel-and-stick is an easy way to create an accent wall. Now, Drew did recommend that being bold can include a feature ceiling. While he did say it with a straight face, it may be a step too bold for some.
In their video, Jonathan and Drew argue against excessive patterns and visual noise. If you’re an HGTV fan and live by the rules of Erin Napier, this bit of advice may come as a stark contradiction. The reality is, in the world of design, it’s all about taste. With both the brothers and the Napiers having wildly drastic aesthetics, it’s likely you’ll already prefer one over the other. If you’re not a fan of the granny chic that Erin has made famous, you’ll have a greater understanding of Jonathan and Drew’s perspective.

HGTV tests reality TV’s most recognizable formula.
Jonathan and Drew Scott Don’t Want You To Make a Mistake
Many are coming to the Scotts for advice because they want to get rid of white that is drowning their spaces. It’s time to have fun with color drenching. Rather than having a wall in one color with white molding, they claim you can have it all in the same color. Just ensure you do so in a room with great natural light. Drew revealed, “I’m not the biggest fan of having tone-on-tone-on-tone for your room all the time, because a lot of people get it wrong, because then it just feels boring. Everything is the same.” The way to avoid this issue is to have something that draws your attention. Bold colors without contrast may seem bold in theory, but the execution is simply flat.
The hardest element for at-home designers is their reliance on the copy-and-paste method. It’s an unspoken mistake that, perhaps, they see something they like on screen or in a magazine and decide to replicate it in their own space. Not understanding the conditions under which it worked there and not grasping how it can fail in your own space is a bold move of its own. Thankfully, with new products that make self-design easier, the risk is not as drastic as it once was. The last thing you want to do is beg Jonathan and Drew to come to the rescue for your own episode of Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers.
Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers is available to stream on HGTV.
