Travis Kelce’s Wedding Guests ‘Kicked Out’ Of MSG
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift tied the knot nearly two months ago in a massive wedding that occurred at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Several celebrities, from actors to comedians to superstar athletes, attended, making the magical moment even more special for the bride and groom. There was one thing, though, that Travis wished could’ve been different, and his brother Jason seemed to agree.
On the September 2 episode of Travis and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast, the two NFL stars spoke about the big day. “It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Travis said about the ceremony.
“Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had, throughout the entire evening and hearing that, kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night. And it was just so magical, man,” he added.
Despite being all smiles, Travis said he wished the night “could have lasted even longer,” noting that it felt like things happened “in the blink of an eye” before Jason said, “They kicked us out!”
However, Travis expected that, saying that “once the drinks stopped being served,” everyone started to dip out.
Why Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Wanted To Get Married At Madison Square Garden
Travis and Taylor said “I do” on July 3 in New York City. The stars were out, and the ceremony included some very big names, including Adam Sandler as the couple’s officiant.
“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions. And we needed it to be a private feel,” Travis said. “And MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”
Travis also made sure to show love to Sandler, his “Happy Gilmore 2” co-star. “I can’t say thank you to everyone without [giving] a special thank you to the Adam Sandler,” the Super Bowl champion said.
“He has been just the f—ing best person on this planet. And for him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor in the way he did, in the very, you know, Sandman style and giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment, knowing that, it was the biggest night of both of our lives. It was, it was absolutely insane, man,” Travis added.
Jason Kelce Had Reservations About Sandler Being The Couple’s Officiant
Sandler has always been open about his love for Swift, previously praising the singer and noting how important her contributions to music have been.
According to The Blast, the comedian “wasn’t trying to find the perfect words or make it this big production”; he simply wanted to speak from the heart—something Jason knew would get the audience choked up.
“I mean, obviously, he’s an entertainer and he’s hilarious, but there’s a sweetness in everything Adam does, like all of his movies. And, like, there’s a degree of it that I think really resonates with officiating a wedding,” Jason said.

What Jason Loved About His Brother’s Wedding To Taylor Swift
Elsewhere during the episode, Jason opened up to his brother about what he enjoyed most during the wedding.
“The thing I really liked about this wedding, in particular, and the way you guys structured it was like, after all that was done, like, there wasn’t like the sit-down formal stuff. There wasn’t like a bunch of the speeches. It was just time to party and have fun. And that’s what made it so fun for me to be there,” Jason said, adding that he saw many celebrities, including Brad Pitt, Conan O’Brien, and Paul McCartney.
One Of Travis’ Teammates Was Upset About The Wedding
While Jason had a good time at the wedding, one of his friends, Taylor Lewan, expressed his disappointment over not receiving an invite.
“Going into the weekend I thought, ‘All good, didn’t get an invite,’” he said. “At the end of the day when it comes to weddings, don’t make it about yourself. I sit back, happy for them. I shot Travis a text saying congratulations; he hit me back pretty quick.”
However, after photos from the event leaked, and Lewan noticed more and more people there, he began wondering if there was a bigger reason he wasn’t included.
“Cooper Kupp is there—you didn’t play with Cooper Kupp! I’m looking at these names… this is where I was kind of like, ok. When I saw George Kittle’s mom and stepmom there! Yo, we’re boys! I’ve known you over 10 years! We text and call each other! I’m going to take the high road, ok, but clearly I am doing something wrong in our friendship. Clearly doing something wrong,” he said.
