Victor Willis, frontman of the legendary disco group Village People and co-writer of classic hits like “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man,” has died at the age of 74. News of the artist’s passing was first posted on the official Village People Facebook page in a statement. “We are profoundly sad to announce the death of Victor Willis, lead singer of Village People. Victor passed on Monday June 30, 2026 of a short but aggressive illness. Privacy is requested.”
