Police in Washington state claim that a schizophrenic man who had been off his medications ended up murdering his own mother this week by viciously stomping on her neck up to seven times.

Antony Ton Le was arrested for criminal homicide on Tuesday, February 24, after allegedly choking out his mother and “curb stomping” her in the city of Auburn.

Curb stomping typically entails forcefully opening someone’s jaw and placing their mouth over a sidewalk’s edge, almost as if they are biting it. The perpetrator then stomps down on the neck from behind with the full weight of their body.

As he was being interrogated by police, Le, 30, allegedly explained how he “got into an argument about school and finances” with his mother, Thuy Nu Thu Ton, before attacking her,

Le, according to an affidavit shared with Us Weekly, admitted to investigators he “ultimately killed his mother.” He said that he’d been “experiencing rage and anger” toward his mother in recent weeks, having stopped taking his bipolar and schizophrenia medications.

“He grabbed Thuy in a ‘choke hold’ and threw her to the ground,” reads the affidavit. “[Le] began ‘curb stomping’ his mother’s neck. [Le] noted how angry he was and that he likely killed her on the ‘third stomp’ and ‘over-killed her’ and stomped her four or five more times. After the assault, [Le] tried to ‘help’ Thuy by putting pillows and blankets on top of her. [Le] stated that he heard Thuy ‘gurgling’ for about 30 minutes before she died. [Le] then gave her a hug.”

The son told detectives he decided not to call 911 because he knew his roommate, the condo’s owner, would be home soon and that they would contact police — which they did at approximately 2 p.m.

The condo owner told police that Le had recently become “increasingly hostile” and “prone to violence.”

First responders tried treating the 61-year-old at the scene, but she died before they could even load her into an ambulance.

A tactical team was called in to deal with Le and set up a perimeter around the entire area.

In time, the team forced its way into the condo and located Le in his bedroom. Authorities then arrested him and transported him to SeaTac City Hall.

The condo owner told investigators that when he left for work earlier that day, Ton was on the couch in the living room, looking at her phone. Le, the roommate had assumed, was in his room.

When the condo owner returned from work, he told police he looked beneath the pile of blankets in the middle of the living room and found the victim “lying on her back with her eyes open and her arms folded across her chest.”

He said that it appeared that Ton had suffered severe and obvious facial injuries in the attack.

Le is currently being held in the King County Jail on a $2 million bond. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Friday, February 27. Plea and attorney information was not available at press time.
