Young and the Restless: Nick Brutally Destroys Amnesiac Matt!

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) - Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow)

Young and the Restless brings Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) back to Genoa City this week, but he has no memory of his life or who he is. So, this is obviously a huge advantage for the Newmans, especially Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who has a major score to settle with Matt after he overdosed and tried to kill him.

And Nick is going to run into Matt this week. So, we’re going to talk about how Nick could absolutely destroy Matt while he is suffering from amnesia, is head injured, and is basically easy prey. And now, let’s talk about what happens to the bad guy.

Nick Runs Into Matt At The GCAC on Young and the Restless

All right. So, Nick runs into Matt Clark at the GCAC where he went after the near-death incident in Las Vegas simply based on the room key in his pocket. Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) bashed Matt in the head with a rock several times and she thought she killed him. So, I’m guessing that the guy has a traumatic brain injury that’s causing his memory loss. And this week, Nick sees Matt right after he spoke to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), who didn’t know him, didn’t want to talk to him, and walked away. Then Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) talked to Matt as well, but it’s Nick who’s really going to want to talk to Matt.

He will be stunned to find out that the villain has lost his memories. And then on Friday, Young and the Restless spoilers confirm that Nick tells Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) a secret. I think it is that Matt is back with no memories, no idea who he is, and can’t fight them. So, clearly, Nick’s going to want to take advantage of this situation. And let’s talk about exactly what he might do.

Nick Might Lure Matt Away And Stash Him Somewhere on Y&R

First of all, Nick might lure Matt away from the GCAC and stash him somewhere. You know, Nick could lie and say they’re old friends and that he’s going to take him home and then he just locks Matt up in a storage unit or the barn on the ranch or chains him up in an abandoned building.

I’m sure Genoa City has some. And then Nick might tell Victoria that he has Matt secured and he’s vulnerable and he’s going to crush him. And Nick may tell Victoria, “Don’t tell anybody else. You know, I’ll decide who to tell.” And I think Nick may want a little time to think about how best to punish Matt.

Of course, the Newmans were all hoping that Sienna really did kill Matt, but the police haven’t found the body, so there’s doubts. And then right now with Nick stumbling upon him having no memories that gives them the upper hand.

So, Nick may just need a minute to wrap his head around this huge Matt twist and figure out the best course of action. Nick wants Matt neutralized, preferably dead. But I wonder if Nick might feel like Matt is weak as a kitten and it’s not sporting to take him down like this.

Nick’s Out for Revenge on Young and the Restless

Now Nick is usually a hothead. He acts first, he thinks later, usually punches first, maybe thinks later, but this time he might surprise us and really consider what to do with Matt just because of what’s going on or not going on in his brain.

I mean, Nick could always turn Matt over to the cops for trying to kill them all in Vegas, but I feel like Nick may not trust the legal system because they went that route before and Matt was able to manipulate things and get free. And let’s be real, Nick wants revenge.

Nick Could Bring in Adam to Gang Up on Matt on Y&R

So, after telling Victoria, we could see Nick also bring in his little brother Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and talk to him about what he’s thinking about doing to Matt, you know, or Nick could bring Adam over to see where he’s got Matt locked down and ask, “Okay, what should we do from here?” And Nick and Adam could gang up on Matt.

They could tag team him and kick the holy crap out of him for everything he’s done to them and their loved ones. You know, remember Nick and Adam were taking Matt off to give him a big beatdown when the guy grabbed the wheel and caused the car crash that broke Nick’s leg.

But Nick beating on Matt when he doesn’t know who he is or who they are is kind of problematic. So Nick and Adam beating him up together seems even dodgier. They may want Matt to get back his memories. So then Nick and Adam won’t feel bad about punishing a guy who has no idea what he did to cause this. It, like I said, it doesn’t seem sporting even though he’s a terrible person.

Nick Could Force Matt to Overdose

Another thing to consider with Matt is they could just put him down humanely because let’s face it, he needs a dirt nap. Once his memories come back, he will be a threat to the family again. But Nick might have some leftover drugs that he can force Matt to take. And it would be ironic if Nick caused Matt to overdose.

I think that would be the absolute perfect revenge for Nick because they wouldn’t be physically assaulting a clueless amnesiac, but then they can get rid of Matt nonviolently. And since he nearly killed Nick with drugs, it would be karma. Remember, Matt had that dealer give Nick the bonus baggie that was a deliberately bad batch that he knew would likely overdose and kill Nick.

Young and the Restless: Nikki May Hide the Truth from Sharon & Sienna

That way, you know, if Matt still got amnesia, they can give him pills like that, get rid of him relatively painlessly using a mechanism that Matt himself used for people and still give the family the closure they need. Another thing to consider is Nick may not want Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman to know that Matt’s in town. So Sienna told them Matt’s dead, but now she’s having kind of paranoid doubts, saying maybe he survived. Maybe he’s in Genoa City now. So Nick may decide the best thing is to not scare Sienna and Sharon. And him and Adam take care of Matt, kill the guy, not even tell the rest of the family until it’s over and done.

And then Victor Newman‘s (Eric Braeden) security guys, I’m sure, can get rid of the body. But once it’s all done and Matt’s gone, then Nick could go back and tell Sharon, Sienna, and Noah, look, it’s over. Matt really is dead, he’ll never be a threat to us again. And that way, Noah, Sharon, and Sienna could have closure because Sienna is kind of unhinged right now and needs to know it’s over.

And Nick can even tell her, “Hey, look, you didn’t even kill him. Somebody else did. You know, me.” So, if he is really gonna go ahead and kill Matt, I think that would be the best outcome for everybody. And I don’t think anybody in the family except maybe Sharon would have an issue with Nick doing some cold-blooded killing where Matt is concerned.

Nick May Want to Torment Matt for A While on Y&R

The last thing is Nick may want to torment Matt for a while, not let him off easy, kind of like what Victor was doing with crazy Aunt Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). So Nick may hold Matt captive for a while, torture him, trigger his memories to come back. That way, Nick can laugh while Matt realizes all of his scheming and plotting came to this end result.

I’m sure Nick wants a reckoning, and that isn’t really possible with Matt’s memories gone. But Nick could lock him up, get him hooked on drugs, torment him, drag it out. And if so, I think Matt’s memories would come back and at that point he would probably escape and wreak havoc on the Newmans because that way we still get a final boss battle with an explosive climax. You know, if Nick just takes him out while Matt’s clueless, that’s kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.

Nick May Lock Matt Up on Young and the Restless

Then again, there is one other option. You know, Nick might have Matt put away into like a secure psychiatric facility and leave him there until his memories come back and then come back to kill him. But that would be so anticlimactic. That being said, Josh Griffith is a terrible writer and I was so happy to see he’s no longer executive producer.

If they just get him out of the writer’s chair, too, I think Y&R would be so much better. So, I wouldn’t put it past him to do something really lazy like that. Hopefully not because we’re in May sweeps. Hopefully, we get this boss battle and Nick gets to kill him. But doing it while he’s got amnesia, like I said, doesn’t feel very sportsmanlike. We’ll see. But Nick this week is going to feel like he won the revenge lottery when he stumbles over a clueless and confused Matt at the GCAC this week.

Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ Officially Returns to Streaming Domination as Fans Anxiously Await Season 4

Published

on

Serinda Swan in Reacher

2026 has already been a huge year for Alan Ritchson, who was the headlining figure in the biggest Netflix movie of the year in War Machine. The film debuted back in March, and to reach the top spot, it had to dethrone The Rip, the Miami-set crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Not only did War Machine have no problem taking down Damon and Affleck’s gritty thriller, but it has also racked up over 125 million views since it arrived on the platform, with more coming in every day. Ritchson has also featured in some other big projects over the last few years, such as The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the WWII action epic directed by Guy Ritchie. The film also stars Henry Cavill, but the film’s combined star power didn’t help it achieve success at the box office.

Ritchson has been acting in movies and TV shows for years now, but his star power can be traced directly back to Reacher, the Prime Video original series that first premiered back in 2022. Reacher has aired three full seasons with a fourth confirmed to be on the way later this year, and it’s not-so-quietly become one of Prime Video’s flagship properties, along with The Boys (starring Karl Urban) and Invincible (starring Steven Yeun). Plot details about Reacher Season 4 are still being kept under wraps before its Prime Video debut, but fans around the world are rushing to rewatch the first three seasons of the series, which has led it back into the global streaming top 10. The show is the perfect blend of John Wick and Zero Dark Thirty for fans of great action set against the backdrop of an intense conspiracy thriller.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Alan Ritchson Isn’t the First Jack Reacher

Alan Ritchson may be the definitive Jack Reacher for a generation of Reacher fans, but he isn’t the first person to take up the mantle of the legendary military operative. Tom Cruise starred in a pair of Jack Reacher movies in 2012 and 2016, but most fans agree that he was ill-suited to take on the role written by Lee Child, who has also distanced himself from the adaptations. Cruise’s first Jack Reacher movie is streaming on Paramount+, and the sequel is on Prime Video for fans willing to give it a chance.

Zoë Kravitz Slams ‘Tacky’ Reference About Engagement

Published

on

Harry Styles' Stalker Arrested After Expressing ‘Sexual Urges’ & 'Hand-Delivering Letters'

Zoë Kravitz has publicly criticized Hulu for using her high-profile engagement to Harry Styles as a marketing tactic.

The actress lashed out after the streaming service posted a joke on social media that connected her personal life to a television series they canceled years ago.

Her blunt response has now reignited a long-standing feud between the star and the platform over the handling of her professional work.

Kravitz did not hold back when she discovered that Hulu was using her relationship with Styles to drive social media engagement. Last week, the streaming platform shared an Instagram photo of Kravitz in character as Robyn Brooks from her former series, “High Fidelity.”

The caption of the now-deleted post claimed that her character would definitely have “Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally” on her playlist, a direct nod to the title of Styles’ fourth studio album, which debuted on March 6.

Kravitz, now 37, found the post offensive and commented, “This is tacky,” while directly tagging the Disney-owned platform. Following her public disapproval, Hulu quickly removed the post from its page.

Notably, the frustration felt by the “Big Little Lies” star is rooted in the fact that Hulu canceled “High Fidelity” back in 2020 after just one season. Many fans supported her reaction, arguing that it is disrespectful for a network to use an actress’s current personal milestones for advertisement six years after axing her show.

Additionally, Kravitz has been a vocal critic of the cancellation since it happened, famously pointing out that the move removed one of the few shows on the platform led by a woman of color. According to Page Six, she previously mentioned that Hulu made a “big mistake” by not realizing the cultural impact and the connection the show had with its audience.

Kravitz’s blunt reaction to the streaming giant comes shortly after reports surfaced that the actress is now engaged to Styles.

The engagement rumors surrounding the two reached a fever pitch following weeks of intense speculation and new public sightings. Insiders described the 32-year-old pop star as being “completely smitten” with the actress, with one source saying that he would essentially do anything for her.

The Blast reported that Kravitz is reportedly just as thrilled, with friends describing her as being “on cloud nine” as the couple takes this significant next step.

While the reports of their engagement were initially based on insider tips, the visual evidence of their commitment recently became impossible to ignore on the streets of New York. Shortly after news of their status broke, Kravitz was seen prominently displaying a massive diamond ring that seemingly confirmed the relationship had reached a new level.

According to The Blast, Kravitz turned heads in New York City when she was spotted wearing a striking diamond on her ring finger while dressed in a casual “Boy Next Door” cap.

Despite her low-key outfit, the jewelry immediately became the main attraction, with experts estimating the piece is worth approximately $1 million.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the very first time the jewelry had made an appearance. Kravitz was photographed wearing the same diamond as far back as December, which suggests the proposal may have happened much earlier than many fans realized.

Channing Tatum Shared A Cryptic Post After The News Of Zoë Kravitz’ Engagement Broke

While Kravitz is reportedly looking toward a future with Styles and her million-dollar ring, her past relationship has resurfaced in the public eye through a series of emotional social media posts.

Her former fiancé, Channing Tatum, recently caught the attention of fans by sharing a deeply personal message just as news of her new engagement dominated the headlines.

The Blast reported that Tatum sparked widespread speculation when he posted a cryptic poem on his Instagram stories titled “My Brain And Heart Divorced” by John Roedel.

The poem describes a painful internal conflict where the mind and heart can no longer coexist, eventually sharing custody of a person while refusing to speak to one another. Many observers interpreted the move as a subtle reflection of his own feelings regarding his high-profile split from the actress.

While Tatum’s emotional social media activity highlighted his personal struggle, his most recent updates suggest he is finally finding a sense of peace with his ex-fiancée’s new life.

As Kravitz made headlines for her reported engagement, the actor shared another cryptic message that signaled a change in his perspective.

Tatum shared a video on Instagram that featured a seal floating peacefully in water to the song “Only Time” by Enya, with a caption describing a desire to let go and trust in the “flow of the universe,” per The Blast.

According to those close to the actor, Tatum was initially surprised by how quickly Kravitz and Styles moved toward an engagement, but he has chosen not to dwell on the situation.

Lord of the Rings Icon’s Haunting Sci-Fi Thriller Leaves Paramount+ Soon

Published

on

the-road-movie-poster.jpg

Among the most popular storytelling templates of the last few decades is “Lone Wolf and Cub,” inspired by the Japanese manga about a samurai and his young son. You’ve seen it in The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and even Logan. Hollywood fully embraced the template over two decades ago, with the Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning-led action-thriller film Man on Fire, which was recently remade as a streaming series on Netflix. A few years after the film’s release, Alfonso Cuarón directed the critically acclaimed sci-fi gem Children of Men, starring Clive Owen and Julianne Moore.

Although the template remains as popular as ever — The Mandalorian and Grogu is only a few days away — it has also produced several movies that have slipped through the cracks. Among them is a dystopian Western directed by genre specialist John Hillcoat, written by Mindhunter creator Joe Penhall, and headlined by Viggo Mortensen. The film also served as a launchpad of sorts for Kodi Smit-McPhee and featured veterans such as Charlize Theron and Guy Pearce. The film was based on a novel by the legendary Cormac McCarthy and released just two years after another McCarthy adaptation, No Country for Old Men, swept the Oscars.

But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

Here’s How Long You Have Left to Watch the Dark Dystopian Western on Paramount+

We’re talking, of course, about The Road. Released in 2009, the movie underperformed at the box office, grossing $27 million worldwide against a reported budget of $25 million. Hillcoat’s two subsequent movies, Lawless and Triple 9, also underperformed commercially despite featuring popular stars. The Road‘s dark subject matter, which involved cannibalism, abandonment, and survival, made it a difficult sell to mainstream audiences. However, it was largely well-reviewed. The film holds a “Certified Fresh” 74% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “The Road‘s commitment to Cormac McCarthy’s dark vision may prove too unyielding for some, but the film benefits from hauntingly powerful performances from Viggo Mortensen and Kodi McPhee.” The movie was released only a year after the far more accessible post-apocalyptic action film The Book of Eli, which starred Washington and, funnily enough, also involved cannibals. You can watch The Road on Paramount+ in the United States, but only until May 24. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

M.I.A’s Marta Milans Wants Tony Goldwyn to Play Her Husband

Published

on

TV Ships

Marta Milans is excited to dive deeper into her M.I.A character’s arc in season 2 — and she has the perfect person she hopes will come play her onscreen husband.

“I don’t know why Tony Goldwyn is in my mind right now,” Milans exclusively told Us Weekly after the Peacock show premiered on Thursday, May 7. “Since we were just talking about Scandal, it has to be some WASP royalty.”

Milans noted that Goldwyn “is the epitome” of a perfect scene partner, adding, “Let’s call him.”

Created by Ozark‘s Bill Dubuque, M.I.A is a crime drama focused on Etta Tiger Jonze (Shannon Gisela), who seeks to avenge her family’s murder and rise to power in the Miami underworld.

Fan-favorite TV couples like 9-1-1’s Buck and Eddie, The Bear’s Sydney and Carmy and Tracker’s Colter and Reenie — or Billie — deserve to finally get together on screen in 2026. Based on Jeffery Deaver‘s novel The Never Game, Tracker has viewers tuning in each week to see their favorite fictional survivalist — a.k.a Colter […]

Milans, meanwhile, is related to the crime family responsible for Etta’s family being murdered — but she is trying to set herself apart.

“Caroline is not a criminal. She’s definitely on the edge. She is the daughter of a cartel leader but her dad made sure that Caroline would be the legitimate child — and he tries really hard to keep her out of that dark world,” she noted. “That is why I think her brothers have a chip on their shoulder about that and resent the fact that Caroline is the golden child. She gets sent off to university to get a great education. She comes back and she’s polished, well spoken and well dressed.”

Milans is meant to represent another side to the fictional crime family, telling Us, “She really carries that side very well. I think it’s fascinating to me to get to play that because she navigates both worlds very well. She does obviously walk over to the dark side later on in the season and you’ll see that. But until that moment, her ruthlessness and her hunger for getting her agenda and her goals executed will make her stop at nothing.”

The actress found it “really challenging and exciting” to play Caroline.

“It also is hilarious to me because her brothers will be torturing and killing people and they’re all dressed in perfectly crisp white shirts. You’re like, ‘You might want to wear something darker.’ But it works so well for that side of the story,” Milans said. “But then to also cut to Caroline and her ridiculous mansion with her luxurious suits and shoes. It was a lot of fun to create her wardrobe.”

Milans continued: “The way she presents herself is very informative of who she is and I think that was very exciting. … We had a wonderful showrunner that was very adamant about creating back stories for characters and that was very helpful to us.”

While reflecting on the work that went into M.I.A, Milans credited the writing team for helping evolve the show, saying, “We did get a lot of information that we could build on that’s not necessarily in the script or that is not talked about on screen. But if you inform that and build that, that really shines through. That’s part of the reason why the characters are so fully formed. Even if they’re cartel leaders, there is a layered construct in those characters. That was really important to me to dive deep into that.”

M.I.A is currently streaming on Peacock.

Netflix’s 3-Part Crime Epic Is So Addictive, You’ll Finish It in One Weekend

Published

Brett Cullen in Narcos Season 3

Pedro Pascal has blossomed into one of the biggest stars in the world in the last few years. While it’s tough to pinpoint what has contributed the most to his rising stardom, many fans would argue that The Mandalorian put more eyes on him than any of his other recent roles, which is ironic, considering he rarely shows his face in the show. Just last year, Pascal starred in the most financially successful movie of his career in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, alongside Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Julia Garner, and Ralph Ineson. He’s set to return to his now signature role of Reed Richards later this year in Avengers: Doomsday, which will certainly take the crown from F4 as the highest-grossing movie of Pascal’s career.

While Pascal has been a force in sci-fi and even fantasy with his work in Game of Thrones, he’s also starred in more grounded projects over the years. Pascal is one of the headlining stars in Netflix’s most binge-worthy crime saga of all time, Narcos. Pascal stars alongside Wagner Moura in the series, who recently earned his first Oscar nomination for his performance in The Secret Agent. He can also be heard lending his voice to the role of Brender Lawson in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Narcos ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2017 — a timeline that’s almost unheard of nowadays — and although it’s approaching 10 years since an episode of the show was released, it remains one of the most popular binges in the world on Netflix. The same can be said for its spin-off, Narcos: Mexico, which also ran for three seasons and stars Scoot McNairy.

Pedro Pascal and Boyd Holbrook play DEA Agents Javier Peña and Steve Murphy, who are always on Escobar’s trail. Prime Video Made Crime Dramas Essential Again With This Modern Masterpiece

Published

on

Titus Welliver in Bosch: Legacy

After years attempting to adapt one of his most popular characters for the big screen, author Michael Connelly‘s iconic character, Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch, ultimately debuted on television in 2014 with Prime Video’s crime drama series Bosch, kicking off a franchise that made the genre essential viewing for the streaming era. Over 10 years after the series first premiered, it’s time to revisit how Bosch became a television masterpiece.

‘Bosch’ Achieves an Incredible Layer of Realism

One element that makes Bosch unique among other contemporary police procedurals is its impressive realism. Bosch avoids the extra layer of polish or oversaturated color palette typically used in police procedurals airing on network television, so it never looks overproduced. The version of Los Angeles depicted in the Prime Video series resembles the one that people see if they step outside their front doors.

Bosch‘s gritty aesthetic also elevates the show’s immersion factor; the titular character’s station in the Rampart Division hardly looks like a state-of-the-art, high-tech facility. The show never looks like it’s shot on sets or sound stages, but rather genuine offices, conference rooms, buildings, and homes. The show purposely doesn’t appear overly fancy because it’s not trying to be a slick crime drama.

Titus Welliver in Bosch: Legacy

Titus Welliver Officially Confirms “Discussions” About ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 4

Please come back.

This unpolished look enhances Bosch‘s overall tone as it depicts the dark abyss that its lead character navigates in every season. The eponymous detective sees L.A. at its absolute worst, and viewers see the effect it has on his mental state. Consider what Renée Ballard (Maggie Q) asserts in the series finale of Bosch: Legacy: “When you do this work, you go into the darkness, and I think some of that darkness has gotten into you.” Every episode of Bosch carries that intangible darkness, which the series’ lead must routinely confront without letting it consume him.

Titus Welliver Leads a Stellar Cast in ‘Bosch’

Top to bottom, Bosch boasts an incredible cast, but none surpasses Welliver, who perfectly brings Connelly’s character to life on screen as a fully realized persona. Welliver’s portrayal is so convincing, in fact, that it’s impossible not to envision him in the role when reading any of Connelly’s books. The actor takes complete ownership of the detective and his facets, including his darker side, his dogged pursuit of justice, and his clear-cut moral code. Bosch lives by a creed of “everybody counts, or no one does,” so every victim deserves justice, no matter the circumstances. Every season, Welliver portrays Bosch meeting that challenge with aplomb.

Despite Bosch’s harsh and grimly cynical personality, Welliver also showcases the character’s softer, more compassionate side with his daughter, Madeline “Maddie” Bosch (Madison Lintz), as well as his relationship with LAPD Chief Irvin Irving (the late, great Lance Reddick). The two often clash over their differing styles and methodologies in police work, but the show’s best moments occur when they put aside their differences. Welliver and Reddick had amazing chemistry together onscreen, and their interpersonal dynamic was second to none. Reddick also took Irving one step further than his book counterpart, coining an iconic catchphrase about Bosch that’s become synonymous with the series.

‘Bosch’ Made Procedural Crime Dramas More Dangerous and Mature

Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch holding Madison Lintz as Maddie in Season 2 of Bosch:Legacy

Image via Amazon Prime Video

Bosch‘s grounded aesthetic is enhanced by a more mature subject matter regarding the detective’s cases and investigations. Bosch is depicted in many episodes investigating serial killers, violence against women and children, and perpetrators of sexual abuse. Much like Connelly’s source material, the series doesn’t hold the audience’s hand regarding these powerful and sometimes intense depictions. However, the storylines are treated with the gravitas and seriousness they deserve, usually through Bosch acting as the sentinel of justice. The show doesn’t always wrap up various conflicts or mysteries with a neat little bow. Sometimes the outcomes of various cases feel hollow, which imbues the series with a more melancholy tone, but the writers still treat the material with thoughtful introspection.

Although Bosch has wrapped up and its sequel series, Bosch: Legacy, was canceled, the franchise lives on with the spin-off series, Ballard, which will debut its second season later this year on Prime Video. A planned prequel series, Bosch: Start of Watch, is also due to be released on the streamer. Despite its end, the indelible legacy of high-quality, adult crime dramas Bosch established still endures.

Lindsey Vonn and Skier Matthieu Bailet Spark Dating Rumors

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Lindsey Vonn and French skier Matthieu Bailet sparked romance rumors after a recent outing.

Vonn, 41, and Bailet, 30, were spotted together on Thursday, May 7, in New York City. According to photos obtained by Page Six, the athletes were snapped walking around SoHo and sitting next to each other while waiting for the subway.

Bailet rocked a light blue button shirt paired with navy trousers and a matching sport coat.

Vonn donned white pants and a black jacket. She walked with crutches amid her recovery from her scary crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy in February.

While neither Vonn nor Bailet have addressed their connection, they do follow each other on social media. They are both alpine ski racers and have competed in the sport’s world cup numerous times.

In addition to her outing with Bailet, Vonn attended the Met Gala earlier this week. The Olympian ditched her crutches for the first time since her Olympics crash. Vonn stunned in a custom Thom Browne gown for the event.

Ahead of the annual fundraiser, Vonn spoke about how important it was for her to attend the event without her crutches.

“I’ve been in such a different world, especially since my crash,” she told Vogue ahead of the Met Gala. “This is kind of my coming-out party — I get to be around people, wearing a dress that’s beautiful and feminine, and put my crutches down for the first time.”

Vonn continued, “Monday will be the first few steps that I take — definitely first stairs — without crutches. I’m excited, for many reasons, to get to that point.”

Vonn suffered a compound fracture and tibial plateau fracture in her left leg after crashing at the Milano Cortina Games. She underwent multiple surgeries, including one to save her leg after suffering compartment syndrome.

Days before her crash at the Olympics, Vonn tore her ACL during her race at the World Cup in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Despite the injury, she decided to still compete in the Olympics after undergoing physical tests.

“I have determined I am capable of competing in the Olympic Downhill on Sunday. Of course I will still need to do one training run, as is required to race on Sunday, but… I am confident in my body’s ability to perform,” she said ahead of the race. “Despite my injuries my knee is stable, I do not have swelling and my muscles are firing and reacting as they should. I will obviously be continuing to evaluate with my medical team on a daily basis to make sure we are making smart decisions but I have every intention of competing on Sunday.”

Following her multiple surgeries, Vonn embarked on an intense rehab plan that included hyperbaric chamber sessions and a workout regimen.

“All these things, it took time,” she said. “There were so many layers to it. That made it challenging. And then of course, when you have such slow progress, that inevitably becomes more mentally challenging as well.”

Robert Downey Jr. Slammed For Criticizing Influencers

Published

on

Robert Downey Jr. at Los Angeles Premiere Of HBO Original Limited Series ''The Sympathizer''

As influencers continue to dominate worldwide, Robert Downey Jr. is making it clear he does not believe they are the “stars of the future.”

The “Iron Man” star, who rose to fame in the mid-1980s and later became one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors, recently slammed the influencer culture, likening influencers to “evangelical hucksters.”

His remarks have since sparked backlash online, with many social media users accusing the actor of hypocrisy.

In an appearance on the “Conversations for our Daughters” podcast, Downey Jr. cleared some things off his chest about social media fame and influencer culture. He noted how the entertainment industry has evolved, as becoming famous back in his younger years was way different from today.

“In the late ’70s, early ’80s, dangerous though it was, there was this sense that the competition wasn’t so stiff that you shouldn’t even bother trying,” Downey Jr. explained to host Bran Ferren. “Whereas, nowadays, people can create a celebrity without ever doing much besides rolling a phone on themselves.”

Although the “Oppenheimer” actor admitted his comments might sound harsh, he said he does not completely see the change as a bad thing. However, he dismissed the idea that influencers would become the biggest stars in entertainment.

“When I hear people talk about, ‘Oh, the stars of the future are going to be influencers,’  I go, ‘I don’t know what world you’re living in, but I think that that is absolute horseshit,’” the Oscar winner declared.

The 61-year-old went on to recall his 13-year-old son getting drawn into a gaming stream where viewers donate money to creators and taking to touring that path. He then compared influencers to “the evangelical hucksters of the Information Age.”

Downey Jr.’s remarks quickly went mainstream, with many social media users criticizing him for attacking influencer culture while earning huge amounts from Hollywood movies himself.

One X user wrote, “You are as overpaid and overhyped as these influencers. The world evolves. Remember, before movie and TV performers, theater actors were the biggest entertainers.”

Another critic commented, “Rich coming from a guy getting paid $100 million for two films with limited screen time.”

A third user remarked that it was not a good look for someone as successful as Downey Jr. to cast shade on “those still trying.”

Others accused the actor of hypocrisy, with one commenter calling him a “greedy f—” who should not complain after making millions from Disney superhero films. Another user warned him to “stop acting as if celebrities should be idolized.”

As criticism continued online, Downey Jr. has also lost his spot as one of Hollywood’s biggest box office stars after Scarlett Johansson moved ahead thanks to the success of “Jurassic World: Rebirth” last year.

According to The Blast, the movie pushed Johansson’s career earnings in leading roles to $14.61 billion worldwide, slightly ahead of both Samuel L. Jackson and Downey Jr., whose total stands at $14.3 billion.

Johansson’s achievement stands out even more because she reached the milestone with fewer movies. While Downey Jr. built his total across 45 films, Johansson did it in just 36.

Even though he lost the top spot, Downey Jr. could still make a major comeback with his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has since spoken about recasting Downey Jr., explaining that the studio never ruled out bringing him back after “Avengers: Endgame” ended Tony Stark’s story.

Instead of reviving “Iron Man,” the production chose an unexpected route by casting Downey Jr. as iconic villain Doctor Doom in upcoming films.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Feige explained that the idea came as Downey Jr. was receiving widespread acclaim for Oppenheimer, leading the studio to believe he could reinvent himself.

While fans are excited for the next installment set to premiere in December, they should not expect to see Doctor Strange in the movie.

As The Blast reported, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed b that the character was removed from the film after the production changed its plans following the fallout surrounding Jonathan Majors.

He added that the Time Stone Guardian was originally tied more closely to a larger storyline when Majors’ villain Kang was expected to lead the franchise’s next era.

However, after Majors was fired following his assault conviction, Marvel reportedly shifted direction creatively.
