It’s Zendaya‘s world, and we’re all just living in it. The hugely talented Hollywood star has already reprised the role of Rue in one of the biggest streaming hits of the year so far, Euphoria, before featuring in the two most high-profile films of this summer. Alongside Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland, Zendaya has starred in both Christopher Nolan‘s ambitious adaptation of Homer‘s historical epic The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The former broke several box office records, including earning Nolan’s biggest opening weekend, as it sailed towards the billion-dollar mark at the box office. The latter, however, blew The Odyssey out of the water by not only earning the biggest opening weekend in domestic box office history but also becoming the second-fastest film to $1 billion worldwide. It is frankly remarkable then that the best Zendaya performance of 2026 so far doesn’t come in any of these projects.
Zendaya’s best performance so far came opposite her The Odyssey castmate Robert Pattinson in The Drama, the clever, twisting tale of a couple on the verge of getting married whose relationship is turned upside down when one reveals a dark secret. Excruciatingly brilliant from start to finish, The Drama is one of the true gems of 2026, and matched its critical success with over $100 million at the global box office. Four months after it debuted in theaters, The Drama is a streaming hit again, officially ranking as one of the ten most-streamed movies on Prime Video in the world.
