2 car smash shuts Deane Church Lane in the latest crash in Bolton

Footage sent to The Bolton News shows a crash on Deane Church Lane, which blocked the road.

The smash happened at around 10.30pm.

Passers-by said they heard a huge bang, and debris was scattered across the floor.

This is the latest crash to have happened in Bolton this week, with a crash happening almost every night this week.

The Bolton News reported a crash on Willows Lane which involved two cars, and one person was taken to hospital with an injury. That crash happened at around 9.15pm.

Earlier the same evening emergency services were called to a crash on Darwen Road, Bromley Cross. The crash shut the road for a short while.

There was also a crash on Topp Way earlier this week.

The number of crashes in Bolton and in light of the fatal crash earlier this month, Bolton South East MP Yasmin Qureshi is calling for action to try and prevent the number of crashes.

She said earlier today: “Awful to see another crash in the area, especially after the incident on Wigan Road.

“Last week I wrote to the Transport Secretary calling for changes to be made, and I will be speaking in a debate on Road Safety next week, calling on the government to be bold and make changes that will save lives.”
