Firefighters warned the blaze could ‘burn for some time’
Firefighters are continuing to tackle a huge blaze involving 200 tonnes of straw in a Cambridgeshire field. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue was called to the fire on Friday evening (August 28) on Stow Road, Kimbolton.
Fire crews have warned that the fire could “burn for some time”, with people nearby urged to keep windows and doors closed.
In a social media post, a fire spokesperson said: “Firefighters are currently responding to a stack fire on Stow Road, Kimbolton.
“It’s likely to burn for some time, so smoke will be seen for a number of hours. If you can smell smoke, please keep windows and doors closed.”
Crews remain at the scene today (Saturday, August 29). Firefighters warned the fire is ongoing and they could be there for “some time”.
