Here are three planning applications that have been decided in and around Darlington that you might have missed:

Aldi to install rooftop solar panels

The council has approved the installation of 270 solar panels on the roof of the Aldi supermarket on Invention Row.

The application was submitted in January, and prior approval was not required on March 2.

Office to HMO conversion approved

A building on Garden Street, which is currently used as an office, will be converted into a 10-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO).

Plans include transforming the loft and basement into living spaces, adding roof lights, and removing a chimney.

The application was granted with conditions on March 2.

Tree works at Darlington Memorial Hospital

The council has approved tree works at Darlington Memorial Hospital, submitted by the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

The plans include the removal of two ash trees and two whitebeam trees, along with crown reduction and lifting works on remaining trees.

The application was granted with conditions on March 5.
