Andy Burnham addresses Freddo price in cost of living pledge | News
The prime minister has addressed the price of a Freddo chocolate bar, stating the cost of living is “at the top of my mind”.
The frog-shaped chocolate bar now costs 39p, compared to just 10p back in 2005.
In his latest social media video, posted on Thursday (27 August), Andy Burnham, described the chocolate treat as the “most talked about cost of living symbol in the UK”.
“Now, I might not be able to do anything to reduce the price of these, but here’s what I am doing to help bring down the cost of living”, he told viewers, before reeling off a list of measures his party is implementing to help, including capping bus fares, and cutting business rates for pubs and clubs.
Mr Burnham adds: “I will fight to take the pressure off and make Britain better off… if only I could make Freddo’s cheaper.”
