Another major EastEnders exit as fan-favourite leaves Walford | Soaps

EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (September 22) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.

Emotions were at an all-time high in the Gulati/Nandra-Hart household as Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) resolved to say goodbye to the Square and start afresh in Leeds.

The much-loved character, as viewers know, is pregnant with Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) baby following an affair with Walford’s resident lothario.

Ravi (Aaron Thiara), who dumped Priya earlier this year, wasn’t pleased upon his return to the Square to find out that his ex had been seeing someone else in his absence – and thus it his mission to find out who.

Priya was quick to assure Ravi, who was delighted that she’s pregnant, that it’s him she wants to be with and thus the couple rekindled their romance, getting engaged.

But Priya had another secret that was set to blow – the baby she’s carrying is Max’s.

With Max’s new wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) having found out about the pregnancy, she blackmailed Priya into leaving the Square – otherwise she would tell Ravi the truth. Priya, however, decided to come clean to Ravi herself.

Ravi was devastated that the baby isn’t his and took himself off to process the news. Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) was on hand to offer advice, suggesting that he stand by and support Priya, much like she always has for him.

Armed with a newfound outlook in the situation, Ravi sought out Priya to reveal that he’ll raise the baby as his own. The news was of huge comfort to Priya – but it did little to dissuade her from her decision to leave the Square.

While Ravi was getting counsel from Vinny, Priya had a chat with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier), who both shared Max’s past mistakes when it came to his kids – namely the kidnap of baby Abi.

Linda explained that it was this very incident that prompted her to withhold Annie’s existence from Max, fearing that he might try to take her away.

Terrified that Max would try to take her baby, Priya decided to up sticks and leave.

Ravi wanted to go with her but Priya refused, instead asking him to stay with the kids until Christmas – and then when things die down they can come join her.

Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani (Aaliyah James) urged their mum to reconsider but her mind was made up.

In emotional scenes, Priya and Ravi shared a heartfelt goodbye as she left the Square. But is this really the last we’ve seen of Priya?
