Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Shows Chris Evans And Robert Downey Jr In Action
The action-packed first trailer for Marvel’s new Avengers movie Doomsday has been released, and let’s just say there’s plenty going on.
It was well-documented that the new film would feature some of the MCU’s biggest names crossing paths to battle a new foe, played by Robert Downey Jr, returning to the comic book franchise as the villainous Dr Doom.
As predicted, the two-and-a-half minute shows the Fantastic Four shaking hands with Wakandans, while the newly-unveiled New Avengers mix with the likes of Ant-Man, Captain America, Shang-Chi and even Gambit, while Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are seen reprising their roles from the original X-Men franchise.
Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is heard giving the newly-assembled team a pep talk, in which he warns them: “I’ve fought with many warriors in my time, who are far stronger than all of us put together, and they died. They died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one.
“Everything that they sacrificed will be for nothing if we do not stand together. Put aside your petty squabbles and presume nothing except this, if you return, you will return as brothers and sisters.”
“Mark my words – we are going to need a miracle,” he concludes – and it seems he may have just got one, as the clip ends with a first glimpse of Chris Evans back in action in a Marvel movie for the first time since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
The teaser includes snippets of Robert Downey Jr’s Dr Doom, although we’re yet to take a look behind that mask.
