The restaurant was first opened in 1980 and offers a traditional fish and chips menu as well as other seafood dishes.

The menu features a range of options from oysters and tempura-battered vegetables to start to salads and sandwiches.

You can get traditional fish and chips, choosing from hake, cod, haddock, plaice, and halibut that are served with the restaurant’s chips, which are fried in beef dripping.

Alternatively, you can have seafood chowder, fishcakes, Whitby scampi, salmon or steak pie.

Trenchers also has an extensive dessert menu featuring dishes like sticky toffee pudding, lemon and ginger cheesecake, and sherry trifle.

“The fish was incredibly fresh, and the batter was wonderfully light and crispy.
