Gladiators viewers were left divided just minutes into the latest episode of the BBC gameshow as they flocked to social media to issue the same complaint
Fans of Gladiators have voiced the same complaint just minutes into the latest episode of the popular gameshow.
The third series of the BBC programme pressed on this Saturday evening (31 January), with presenting duo Bradley and Barney Walsh, a father-and-son pair, back at the helm.
Referee Mark Clattenburg also reprised his role as the authoritative judge maintaining order amongst competitors. Just like earlier seasons, this edition sees everyday participants go head-to-head with the formidable Gladiators across a range of physical tests.
This evening’s episode saw Millie, Ellie, Tyler and Elliot entering the arena to take on the Gladiators, including Cyclone, Steel, Legend, Sabre and Diamond.

Just minutes after the programme began, 28-year-old Ellie from Cleethorpes faced the Unleash challenge against Electro. Her task was to outpace the Gladiator and seize a flag positioned at the finish line of the track to secure 10 points, reports the Mirror.
Despite Ellie managing to evade Electro throughout the entire course, she couldn’t leap sufficiently high to reach the flag, securing just five of the available 10 points.
This prompted viewers watching from home to question whether the flag’s positioning might disadvantage certain contestants.
On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer asked: “Is the flag too high? #Gladiators.”
Another offered their opinion: “Sorry, that flag is too far out. Almost no one could grab that, they need to factor in height too #Gladiators.”

One viewer expressed disappointment at a missed opportunity, tweeting: “Oh no Ellie missed the flag but that’s 5 points secured #Gladiators.”
Among the four contestants, only Millie succeeded in outpacing the Gladiator to seize the flag. This victory delighted viewers, with one commenting: “At least someone got the flag! #Gladiators.”
Another chimed in with: “Well done Millie, glad someone finally captured that flag #Gladiators.”
Adding to the entertainment, host Bradley had the audience in stitches when he shared his recent physical feat.
Before introducing the competitors, he joked: “I’ve just passed my Gladiators fitness exam, had to do a bleep test. I ran 30 metres and swore 52 times but they said it was a record.”
