Body found in search for missing three-year-old Noah Woods

Noah Woods went missing from Merriam Close Playground in Brantham at 2.37pm on Tuesday, September 15.

He was separated from a relative and reported to have run off down the alleyway beside the playground towards a nearby new-build housing estate.

A large scale search was launched in response involving numerous emergency services.

Thousands of volunteers from the local area and further afield joined the search overnight and into Wednesday.

However, Suffolk police confirmed a body has been found in Decoy Pond.

Formal identification is yet to take place but the family has been informed.

Superintendent Tom Pearse said: “These five teams this afternoon have sadly found a body of a child in Decoy Pond in Brantham.

“Formal identification is yet to take place. The family of Noah Woods has been informed of these developments.

“The discovery of the body is currently being treated as not suspicious but unexplained. The coroner will be informed of this development.”
