Car bursts into flames on the A48

  • Emergency services attended the scene after a car burst into flames on the A48 on Tuesday, May 12 morning. Around 8am, two lanes were closed on the busy route between from the A476 Llandeilo Road (Cross Hands roundabout, Cross Hands) to the Porthyrhyd turn off (Foelgastell Junction, Foelgastell).
  • Dyfed-Powys Police were at the scene this morning, closing the road westbound as they dealt with the fire. There was queuing traffic along the busy road for around an hour.
  • Around 8.21am on Tuesday morning one lane had reopened and traffic began to move through the area. The road was fully opened again and the car recovered by 9.12am.
