Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton North Neighbourhood Team executed a Section 8 warrant at an address in the area on Sunday (August 9).

During a search of the property, officers seized a quantity of Class A drugs.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police have appealed to anyone with information about crime in their area to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through its website.

The warrant comes days after a huge police presence in Halliwell on Friday (August 7), when officers responded to a suspected knife attack.

Police descended on a quiet cul-de-sac to investigate the incident.

An air ambulance also landed at the grounds of Bolton Rugby Club.

As of 4.30pm on Saturday (August 8), no arrests had been made, and GMP said there was no further update at that moment.
