“Saltburn Folk Festival is known for its ticketed concerts, but some of the most joyful and memorable parts of the weekend happen around the town and are completely free to enjoy,” Elinor said.

“We want local residents and visitors, including people who might never have been to a folk festival before, to come and discover how broad, exciting and welcoming folk arts can be. Our future-facing approach is about inspiring the next generation of folk musicians and artists, and we are committed to folk being by everyone and for everyone.

“Families will love the programme of activities, including dance, puppetry, crafts, storytelling, community singing, workshops, and performances from amazing folk artists. Our festival is a space to come together, and the free events offer a fantastic introduction to folk arts for people of all ages.”
