Crash in Sutton Road, York – police and fire crews called
Police and firefighters were called to the scene in Sutton Road shortly before 8.30am on Saturday (January 31).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said all occupants were out of the vehicle when its crew arrived.
An airbag had deployed which was initially mistaken for smoke, the fire service said.
In a statement on Saturday evening, the service said: “A crew from York responded to a request from police following a single vehicle road traffic collision with potentially smoke coming from the vehicle.
“All occupants were out of the vehicle on crew arrival and air bag deployment was mistaken for smoke, crews made the vehicle safe by isolating the battery and left the incident with the police.”
